Qui-Gon was covered with sand and breathing heavily.
“Are you all right?” Anakin asked.
“I think so,” Qui-Gon said. “That was a surprise I won’t soon forget.”
“What was it?” asked the younger man.
“I don’t know,” Qui-Gon replied. “But he was well trained in the Jedi arts. My guess is he was after the Queen.”
“Do you think he’ll follow us?” Anakin asked.
Qui-Gon nodded. “We’ll be safe enough once we’re in hyperspace, but I have no doubt he knows our destination.”
“What are we going to do about it?”
Anakin’s question hung in the air. The younger man gave him a funny, surprised look.

Anakin grinned. “You’re a Jedi, too? Pleased to meet you.”
Obi-Wan stared at him flatly, then gave Qui-Gon a skeptical look.
