“It isn’t you. Everyone is staring,” Ren snarled.
Theo chuckled. “Maybe because most of the mysterious Core Council is actually at a campus party and we’re all ogling the same girl.”
Enrique laughed. “You’re probably right. I have no problem with attention.”
“I do. Let’s get the hell out of here.” Ren glared at a student who seemed to be checking out my chest. The guy quickly scurried in the other direction.
“Fine, you sourpuss, let’s go.”
“I think the correct term is sourdog.”
Enrique snickered at Theo’s joke. As they elbowed each other playfully, I had to suppress a smile. It sure was good to have everyone behaving like their normal selves. Ren, however, wasn't amused. The intensity of his glare went up several notches.
“Idiots,” he hissed, taking my hand in his. “Come on, Fiona, let’s go somewhere private.”
“Hey, you’re not getting her to yourself,” Enrique complained, right on our heels.
Somewhere private turned out to be on a balcony shrouded in darkness. With the door closed, the music wasn’t as loud. It was just Enrique, Ren and me standing in the dark corner. We left Theo dancing with Amara and Priscilla.
“Let me go first,” I said, “You guys don’t have to apologize for the other night. I already told Theo I wasn’t upset. We’re a team. Teammates argue sometimes.”
Ren stared at me for a while. “Sure, but that doesn’t make us feel any less awful.”
Enrique leaned a shoulder against the wall. “And Ren and I still haven’t apologized about the Radolf debacle.”
“That’s the apology I’ve been waiting for.”
“We’re not sorry for wanting to kick his ass,” Ren corrected.
“Not at all, Princess.”
“But we are sorry for embarrassing you.”
I glanced at each of them. It was the best their apology was going to get, so I might as well accept. Huffing, I threw my hands up. “Fine, I guess I can’t knock you guys for being jealous. It’s flattering even.”
“Really?” Even in the dark, I could see Enrique’s eyes flashing with carnal intent.
“Doesn’t mean I’m going to tolerate you guys being jealous jerks all the time.”
“But I don’t know any other way to be, Fiona.”
Ren’s pout made me giggle. I knew he was actually serious. He’d never stop being jealous or possessive. It was in his nature. Patting his cheek, I sighed. “I know. You, I can cut a little slack sometimes.” He grinned his satisfaction, caught my wrists and kissed the inside of my palm.
I gasped when my back hit a hard chest. “You’re going to cut him slack? That’s not fair?” Enrique’s fingers racked over my hips, then palmed them possessively.
“Okay, fine. I guess I cut you a little slack too.” My words came breathy because being sandwiched between both guys had my body going haywire. My breathing sped up along with my heartbeat and my skin heated to the point of near combustion. If we didn't head inside soon, I’d do something crazy like jump both their delicious bones with a whole party going on the other side of the door. “We should get inside.”
“Or we should stay right here and have our own party.” Enrique’s lips were pressed to my ear and I groaned.
“We’re on the same page with that one,” Ren said, leaning closer until his mouth hovered right above mine. With his smoldering eyes staring into mine and Enrique’s roaming hands wreaking sweet havoc on my body, I nearly melted into an aroused puddle. Just as Ren’s lips touched mine, Enrique’s landed on my neck and then moved lower to trail kisses along my shoulder. Ren’s kiss became more aggressive, and I matched his enthusiasm with each stroke of his tongue.
When he broke contact, I groaned my disapproval. Until Enrique snagged my chin to turn my face upwards for his ravishing kiss. It was the hottest thing ever, making out with two guys on a dark balcony with the risk of getting caught. I gasped and moaned when the top of my jumpsuit was yanked from my shoulders.
Okay, we’re going beyond making out here. But how could I protest? It felt so good. I arched into Ren’s touch when he palmed my bare breasts. “This is crazy.” My words were muffled by Enrique’s skilled lips.
“But good.” It wasn’t a question.
“Uh huh,” I sighed, drunk from both their kisses.
Suddenly, my top was pulled back up and Ren moved to shield us― me mostly― while Enrique further fixed my clothes. I was confused by their actions until the door opened. Two students stepped out. They were kissing and giggling.
When they spotted us, the girl said, “Oh, sorry. Didn’t realize anyone was out here.”
Wide-eyed, I stared at the retreating couple. Thank goodness for Ren and Enrique’s superb hearing. With the music, I hadn’t heard anyone approaching. “We almost got caught,” I mused.
“Which is why we’re going home to finish what we started,” Enrique declared.
I looked from one guy to the next. “We are? You mean…all three of us?”
Ren lifted a brow as if to say “duh,” and I felt fire consume my face.
Lying in bed between Ren and Enrique, I stared up at the ceiling. A slow smile curved my lips. That was… freaking incredible. It wasn’t my first time being with two of the guys at once. I just didn’t think Ren would be into it. He was just full of surprises.
“What are you grinning so hard about?” Enrique’s voice was thick with drowsiness.
“None of your business.”
“Of course, it is, I was all up in your other business a few minutes ago.”
“Enrique,” I groaned, feeling my face heat up. “You're just so... “
“Handsome? Sexy? Good with my tongue?” He wiggled his eyebrows and I covered my face.
“I was going to say candid but sure, those things too.”
He smirked but his eyes were warm as they moved over my face. “You okay?”
“Yeah. Go back to sleep.”
Ren was still fast asleep. He didn’t sleep much on his own, just as I didn’t. My heart turned over when I glanced over at his serene sleeping face. I was glad he felt comfortable enough to snooze away with us nearby.
“Hey, with any luck after a good night’s sleep, he won’t be so grumpy tomorrow,” Enrique whispered.
He smothered his laughter when I elbowed him and repeated. “Go back to sleep.”
“Only if you are.”
Settling back down, I nodded. “I am.” I felt just as relaxed as Ren appeared.
I was so comfortable surrounded by their shifter heat; I fell into a deep sleep in no time. I hadn’t realized how exhausted I was, which was why I was so confused when my eyes opened. I wasn’t in my bedroom with Ren and Enrique, however. I was in some strange place. That’s how I realized that I hadn’t actually woken up. I was dreaming… I guess. My eyes searched the dimly lit dank room and zeroed on a wooden table.
There was a hooded person sitting behind the table. He or she was completely hidden by a red robe while peering into a crystal ball. There was energy, almost like red lighting zipping around the figure. I frowned. Where in the name of the gods was I, and who was that?
As if sensing my presence, the person’s head snapped up. I made eye contact with a pair of glowing red ones. I gasped. Dante?
He blinked then his brows puckered as if he was confused by my presence. I gulped. Suddenly, the dream felt all too real. It was like he was really looking at me.
He snarled. “What the… how did you get here?”
“I…” Have no idea. Was this real?
Dante snarled, hopped over the table, knocking the crystal ball to the floor and lunged at me. When his fingers wrapped around my neck, I actually felt it. His touch was real, and it burned like fire into my skin. Just as I let out an ear-splitting scream, he and the strange room disappeared and I was back in my bedroom. Still screaming, I bolted upright in bed, neck still on fire.
