Love is Bleeding (A Croft & Croft Romance Adventure Book 4) Page 49

by Morgan Kelley

“The Croft Bordello is officially open for business.”

He laughed, still thinking about the outfit. “That can be the next costume you buy,” he offered.

Emma winked as the elevator door opened, and they headed toward the door. “If he’s on the couch, we need to be super quiet,” she warned.

He would crawl across glass to have his sexy wife play secretary for him. Already, he was picturing her very red lips wrapped around…

She nudged him. “You have the keys.”

He nearly laughed, as he was pulled from his sexy fantasy. As he slipped it in the lock, he was careful to silently open the door.

As they walked into their home, Emma was the one to see the passionate lip lock first, and she gasped. “Dante!”

The man spun, breaking the kiss as he looked like he had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

When Croft registered what was going on, his whole world flipped upside down. “Dante? Doctor Bentley? What the hell?”

The keys fell from his hand and landed on the tile floor.

Greyson Croft could honestly say, that he never saw this one coming.

His world may never be the same again.

  Meanwhile…

Digging the hole in the sand, he prepared to place the body inside. It was an accident, he swore. This was one that he was supposed to let go.

He didn't mean to do it.

One minute they were having sex, the next he was squeezing the breath from her lungs in a festering rage.

  He tried to stop.

  Wanted to…

But he was powerless. There was something amazing about having the ability to control life and death. With the single squeeze of his fingers, existence was held in the balance.

  Sometimes they lived.

Most of the times they died.

With each woman he took, there was this need for more to follow. He couldn’t stop with one. As they bounced in his lap, or used their mouths to offer pleasure, he had to make that snap decision.

  Life or death?

It was all up to him.

When the hole was deep enough, he dropped her body, like a rag doll into a toy box. It was completely appropriate, since she’d been his plaything.

There was wariness as she stared up at him, dead blue eyes filled with shock and horror. The motionless orbs were a window into the soul, and he saw the truth.

  He was their creator.

  Their destructor.

  The father they never had.

They needed him, right before he took the ultimate gift.

  Their life.

Now, they were each nothing more than a dead body decaying in a desert hole. It seemed fitting that no one seemed to miss them.

  It was perfect.

For him at least, since no one was weeping for them.

When he chose the women he would pick, sometimes they compelled him to release them back into the world. The eyes were the only way he’d be able to decide.

  Some were wicked.

  Some were wild.

All were his to let live or die. In Vegas, everything was a gamble. When it came down to it, you rolled the dice and took a chance.

This was the same kind of game.

The brunette in the hole should have been set free, but at the last minute, she said something that put him over the edge.

Just as climax struck, her words rang out in sarcasm.

“Forgive me father, for I have sinned.”

  It was all it took.

  Her life was gone.

As the shovelfuls of dirt covered her body, he knew he needed to get the job done. For him to move on, her burial had to be complete. Then, he could go light a candle.

  Say a prayer.

  Cleanse his soul.

He needed to ask for forgiveness from God.

When he finished, he loaded up the tools and stared out at the open vastness of the desert. They were all home and safe now. Everything was going to be fine.

Pulling the cleric’s collar from his neck, he tossed it in the trunk. The charade was over.

  The perverse had fallen.

It was amazing what sick people lived in the world. All it took was a costume and some mumbled words.

Well, it didn't matter. Now, they were gone. The ones who figured it out were the first to fall.

There would be no tears shed for them. All in all, those who deserved death would have no mercy.

Heaven is Weeping, just not for them…
