Defender's Blood The Fallen (An Urban Fantasy)

“Three....two! Now!” and James erupted inside her and Lisa bit down onto the pillow trying not to scream as she fell apart with the sensations. Her head was spinning, her heart was ready to explode and her body was on fire.
James' arm was looped underneath her to hold her in place and he continued to move for a few strokes before falling to the side. Pulling Lisa with him and still inside of her. He stroked her arms and cooed into her ear, “My Lisa, my love, calm down now, that's it, just relax, good girl.” and he did this for a few minutes until Lisa managed to get a coherent thought.
“Dear lord James, every time you do that it gets more intense!” she managed to get out.
“I know, it's our bond both as Dominant and sub and as mates getting stronger and stronger, you are full of endorphins and stuff, mainly it's because you and I love one another and you want to please me. When a sub and Dom have a relationship such as ours things get very intense in the bedroom. I'm just glad I can make you feel so good.” James finished and continued to caress her arm and all the way down her thigh.
“Shit James I would do anything to please you – anything.” Lisa said and James chuckled - “And that's why it's so intense for you my Wolf. Now – let's have a quick shower and then rest.”
Soon Lisa lay in her mate's arms and she was sound asleep, happy, satiated and loved.
Chapter 3
Alex and Zach made their way up to their room after staying to chat for a while. When they had moved to go upstairs Alex told Margaret to stay where she was, still on Duncan's knee and he laughed and kissed her.
Zach carried the cases upstairs and down the hallway to the room they had used on several occasions. Alex loved the room – and remembered that Zach had bought her a four poster bed for their home after she said how much she liked this one.
A smile was on her lips as she remembered this and Zach came up behind her, his arms going around her waist. He was leaning down and his head was on top of hers. “Yes – we had a good time in this bed didn't we?” he stated and Alex laughed - “Indeed!” she said and Zach moved and swatted her behind.
“Hey, that's my word wench!” he spoke as he picked her up and took her to the bed. Alex had so many things going through her head that Zach stilled - “I know meine Kleine, it's very worrying, for Duncan to have nearly been killed – shit that's some bad mojo going down.” and Alex could only agree, her mind tumbling about and worrying.
“What do you think these things are Zach?” and she moved so that she was lying on her side looking up at her mate. He moved so that he was next to her, facing her on his side too. “I've no idea – maybe some kind of hybrid Wolf thing that has mated in the wild?” tho he didn't think that was the case.
“No, if these things are bigger than Duncan and Scott's Wolves and much faster then I don't think they could've been there for long without being noticed by someone for goodness sake!” she sounded exasperated and Zach felt the same.
“I know but we've not seen them Alexina, I can't even begin to guess what they are – we only know that they are deadly!”
Alex nodded, “Yes, I hope we can find those young jaguars, if not then that pack is gone, nothing left – and that's so wrong!” The thought of that happening had tears welling up in Alex's eyes and she tried hard not to let them fall. A few stray ones leaked out and Zach reached over and stroked her face, taking the tears away.
Alex moved her face into the hand of her mate and Zach moved so that his lips touched hers. A gentle kiss, soft, caressing, letting her know that he loved her. Once more Alex marvelled at how they felt for each other and moved so she was closer.
Zach's lips stayed soft, undemanding, and their kiss progressed so that he was soon making love to his wife. Soft, slow and sensual. Not any of the frenetic sex they would partake in regularly. No, this was anything but that, it was a calming, gentle, lovemaking and both took solace in each other's bodies.
Alex clung to Zach like a lifeline and her mate made her feel exquisite, loved, cherished. His tongue and hands eliciting feelings from her body like no other. She was amazed at how tender he was being and she knew he was doing it for her. She loved him even more for that, if that was even possible.
Zach took his time, taking things so slowly that Alex thought she would explode from the sensations he was giving her. She knew he took pleasure in giving her exactly what she needed at that moment. Pure, unadulterated love.
When they finally reached their release Alex's body shook so much that she thought the bed was going to move with the vibrations. Zach moved to her side and pulled her close, rubbing her back gently and making soothing noises into her hair. The stress and upset she had felt earlier were all but gone. She knew they would come back the next day but for now she felt at peace, safe in her mate's arms.
They lay like that for a long time, chatting about anything and everything, except why they were there.
“Isn't Xander getting big?” Alex asked.
Zach smiled, “Well he IS Duncan's son, I would be worried if he wasn't a big strapping boy!” and his mind wandered to their visit for a long weekend when it had been the boy's first birthday.
They had came over and marvelled at how Duncan was with the baby, so soft and tender, it was a sight that would've brightened even the darkest of hearts. For them to have named their son after Alexina – Alexander, but they called him Xander – well it was a lovely gesture. One which had brought tears to Alexina's eyes on more than one occasion over the past few years. Especially when their own babies had been taken from them.
Finally both fell into a sleep, and lay for a few hours before awakening. Alex's stomach clenched as soon as she was aware of where they were and why, her 'sixth sense' was all fired up and she had a really bad feeling deep down inside.
Zach tightened his grip, “It's going to be okay – we'll just go do a scout – see if we can get any info on what these things are. Once we do we can try and get rid of them and find the youngsters.”
Alex wasn't so sure, “Zach I've got a really bad feeling about this – I don't know why but I'm worried.” Her voice held the stress that was inside her and Zach wondered if she knew something more.
“No my Vampire, I don't actually know anything, I just feel it – it's very strange.” she countered his thoughts.
“Well we'll see how this morning goes and then go from there.” he said as he got up and motioned for her to join him. “Come, we'll have a shower and then head downstairs.” he said this with a distinct shine in his eyes and Alex smiled, knowing what her mate meant.
They spent quite some time in the shower, Zach taking Alex more than once. She had to stifle her screams as she didn't want anyone to hear just what they were up to.
Finally Zach cleansed his mate and she did the same to him – every inch of their bodies soaped and rinsed – Alex thought this was one of the best things they did together and she cherished it greatly.
As they were getting dressed Alex tried to tame her hair, a wild mass of curls, and failed miserably. She finally settled on tying it back and they made their way downstairs.
Margaret was already busy making breakfast and little Xander was sitting at the table eating what looked like porridge. When the little boy saw them he narrowed his eyes and let out a small growl which brought huge smiles to Alex and Zach's faces.
On hearing the growl from her son Margaret wheeled round, looking for danger. On seeing Alex and Zach she chuckled, “Xander, behave, they're friends. This is Alex and Zach, they've come to help daddy.” and the little Wolf continued eating but keeping a watchful eye on the two Vampires.
Soon after, the rest appeared and Duncan came in from outside, entering through the back door into the kitchen. As soon as Xander saw him he got up and off his chair and ran to his father. “Daddy daddy!” he squealed and Duncan bent down and picked him up.
“Good mornin little one, where's ma kiss?” Duncan said and Xander planted a very sloppy kiss onto his cheek. Duncan laughed, the sound like
a train rumbling through a tunnel, and placed the boy back in his seat. “Okay finish yer breakfast an then ye can go over an play wae Shona.” he said to his son who started eating his breakfast very quickly.
“He loves playing over with Shona.” Margaret said before asking what everyone wanted.
As they were back in Scotland Alex decided to have breakfast, usually her and Zach just had coffee, but she wasn't going to miss having her 'square sausage and tattie scone'. Lisa looked at the food doubtfully but Alex told her to try it, “It's great!” she told the Wolf and Lisa said she would give it a go.
The rest of them just had coffee and soon all looked to Lisa. She was making 'mmmming' noises as she ate. “I take it you like?” Alex laughed.
Lisa lifted her head and blushed - “Uhm yea – it's really good.” and she continued to eat what was on her plate.
Scott came in with Bri and Shona and Xander got very excited. “Come on Xander, you can come to ours, I've got the paints out.” the Witch said and Xander jumped down and ran to take Bri's hand. Bri smiled down at him, “Tho no painting on the walls this time – okay?” and Xander nodded enthusiastically, “No walls.” he said and Bri laughed and left, taking the two little ones with her.
“Now the little ones are away we can talk.” Alex said and Vlad spoke up.
“So William will come with us and we'll all go to the camp, Zach and William will go on a bit further and see if they can pick anything up and we'll look around the camp and see if we can get any kind of info there....”
Zach interrupted, "Yes, but if you hear anything, anything at all you all take off fast, I don't want any of you hurt. If we come across any of these beasts we'll see if William's magic can hurt them. If not I'll Move him to safety. If that's the case we'll have to rethink everything.”
Alex was listening carefully, “Zach, if William's magic can't hurt these things then I think we should maybe call Lexi and Conall, what do you think?”
Duncan exclaimed, “Fuck me, ah forgot they were hame – are they okay?” he asked.
Zach smiled, a huge one plastered across his face. “Oh they are more than okay, they are very powerful – and of course they are full grown, both can turn Wolf but we've not seen that yet. We have seen them take down an Angel and fly tho.” Zach finished and started to laugh at the expressions on Duncan, Margaret and Scott's faces.
“Are ye kiddin me?” Duncan asked.
Alex shook her head, “Nope, and you haven't even said anything about James yet!” and at that Duncan and Scott looked at James.
Both of them swore this time,“Fuck me!” and James smiled. “Shit aint that weird, ah didnae notice til ye said – he's no got any oh those scars – how's that possible?” Duncan exclaimed.
“Lexi healed me, all of my scars are gone.” James explained.
Scott was shaking his head. “That's some bloody power.” the Beta said and Alex and Zach were beaming with pride.
“Yes as I said they are very powerful – so if William's magic doesn't do anything today I think we'll give them a call.” Zach finished and Duncan and Scott were still staring at James, who now was squirming a little under the scrutiny.
William took that moment to arrive and wondered why his Alpha and Beta were staring at one of the Vamps?
He took a seat and they started to go over what they would do – they would take the SUV's to begin with – the camp was way up in the highlands and a good few hours drive. Then they would leave them and go cross country to the camp. William would go Wolf at that time as he would be faster in Wolf form than human and it would mean the Vamps could go a bit quicker than a slow run.
As they were discussing what was going to happen next the young Jaguar, Sam (or Samantha) came in and her eyes immediately went to Simeon.
The large Guard smiled at the young female and her eyes seemed to light up, very strange. Everyone could see that Simeon was drawn to this Jaguar but they had no idea why, probably because none of them had came across one before.
Sam took some food from Margaret and made her way to the corner of the room again, going down onto the floor and eating her meal. Eyes constantly roving but always coming back to land on Simeon.
Duncan noticed and wondered what was going on, hoping it wasn't what he thought.
As soon as she had finished Sam left, not saying where she was going and everyone else went on discussing what they were going to be doing.
Lisa wasn't exactly happy at being left behind but she knew it was for the best, she couldn't possibly keep up with a Vampire's speed and if she were left behind and those beasts were about, well, she realised she would probably be killed. So although not happy she was partly relieved and everyone seemed to sense this too.
James was superfast, even for a Vamp, so she knew he would be at the front if they had to run. Vlad would probably be next, he was also very fast. Though both Zach and Alex were just as fast, everyone hoped that Simeon was also fast, but being a Vamp he should be fast. William would be Moved by Zach so it appeared that all should be well, but Lisa had a niggling in the pit of her stomach and James felt her worry.
When the Vampires and William all got up to leave Lisa grabbed James in a tight hold – kissing him passionately. “I'll be okay my Wolf.” he told her but she was still scared.
“You better be or you'll have me to answer to!” she quipped and his face broke into a smile - “See you later.” he said and pulled away.
Lisa's heart was fluttering wildly as they all left the safety of Duncan's kitchen!
Margaret could see the tension in the young Wolf, “Lisa, why don't I show you how to make scones?” she asked.
Lisa smiled, “That would be lovely Margaret, I know Alex loves them but we both know how she is in a kitchen. So if I could make her them sometimes it would be nice.”
Margaret laughed, “Yes, I know, I don't know how she coped before she met Zach!” and Lisa laughed, Alex was a terrible cook and Zach was the one that did all the cooking in that household.
Lisa rolled up her sleeves and Margaret gave her an apron, soon Lisa was engrossed in what Margaret was doing, she wanted to do this right so she could bake them when they all went home.
Chapter 4
The journey in the SUV's was quite long and on back roads which were, to say the least, not great.
However, the scenery was to die for. Lush green with large pockets of heather, rolling on for miles in all directions.
No buildings to mar the beauty of the land, Alex loved the Scottish countryside, especially up here in the highlands. She just wished Scotland got decent weather.
Jeez, even in June or July you could get just about all four seasons in one day. Her eyes took in the roll of the land, hills getting more and more. She realised these would be perfect places for a pack to be without being found.
More and more trees came into view and some were pretty large forests and again she realised that you could wander about for days and still not find a way out.
William was with her and Zach in the front SUV, William driving and the other three were in the vehicle behind with James doing the driving.
After what seemed like forever William pulled to the side of the one track road they had been following, parking on the grass so as not to block the road.
Everyone got out and William pointed, “Over there, it's a good hour on foot, well on Wolves feet that is, just follow me.” and at that the tall, thin young man shimmered and changed.
William's Wolf was dark brown, large, but not nearly as large as Duncan's or Scott's. The Wolf did a yipping sound and turned and took off, flying across the ground.
He may not be as big as his Alpha or Beta but boy was he fast. The Vampires all took off after him and soon caught up. They settled into a nice fast pace, with William leading the way.
Once they were into the wooded area it got a little tricky, the Vamps having to watch where they put their feet in order not to trip or fall. William's Wolf had no such problem and seemed to gain even
more speed. The Vamps were all impressed.
William's Wolf started to slow and a whine escaped from it's throat. Alex wondered what was wrong, then she scented it. Death.
Bodies started to appear, mangled and ripped apart, already decomposing and the smell was foul.
Alex gagged and threw her hand up and over her nose, trying desperately to stop the assault on her nostrils.
Even Vlad and Zach were having trouble and both were very old and had been in age old battles where dead lay on the battlefield bloated and rotting.
James and Simeon's faces were white, both struggling with the smell. Alex could only imagine how it was for the Wolf, their sense of smell even greater than a Vamp.
They carried on a bit slower now and then came upon the camp. It was nothing like Alex had imagined, it was very basic with wood shelters dotted around. Obviously no power of any kind and the only water seemed to come from a stream that ran past on the far side.
Jeez no wonder these jaguars stayed in animal form for a lot of the time. This was worse than a third world country.
Bodies were here too, some so far gone it would be difficult for anyone to know who or what they were. William's Wolf whined again and then he changed back to human form.
As soon as he did he gagged and threw up, none of them blamed him. Alex was pretty sure if she could be sick she would have been.
Simeon pulled a small bottle of water from his jacket pocket and handed it over to William. “Here this might help.” the large guard said and William took it gratefully. After a few swigs to clean his mouth and some steadying breaths he looked a lot better.
“Fuck! I know what Duncan told us but this is just bloody awful!” William spoke with anguish in his voice.
“Yes son it is.” Zach placed a hand on William's shoulder and the young Wolf nodded acknowledging Zach's attempt at comfort.
“Okay, so we'll go on and see what we can find, you lot have a look here. See if you can find any proper animal tracks or something. Anything to find out more about these beasts.” Zach said as he turned and moved away. William once more in front showing him the way.
