“Sorry. I’m happy.” Gently setting Deena down, he rubbed her pregnant belly before stepping away. “The little guy’s okay in there. I didn’t hurt her, Sauer.”

Sauer stepped by his wife and tucked her into his side. “Yeah, but maybe, no more picking her up and doing that.”

“I don’t know who you found to fix this, but you’re getting the best damn baby present there is, doll.”

“I better. The crib I want is expensive.” She grinned deviously.

“Done. Doesn’t matter the price. Matching changing table and dresser and nightstand. Hell, I’ll do up the entire baby room.”

Susan waved the keys in the air. “Do you want to take her for a spin?”

“Do I? Hell, yeah.” He snatched the keys, gripping them tightly, afraid they would disappear if he didn’t.

“Can I drive?” Deena asked eagerly.

“Sorry, doll. Nobody drives my baby. Nobody.” He snagged an arm around Susan’s waist and laid a sweet but deadly kiss to her lips. “Nobody drives either of my babies but me.”

“Did not need to hear that.” Deena rolled her eyes as she headed for the car and opened the door.

“I can crawl in the back, Dee,” Susan said before she could climb in.

“Nonsense. You sit in front with Stitch. I can see he wants you to.” Before anyone could argue with her, she crawled into the backseat, somewhat awkwardly, but successfully, with Sauer right behind her.

Susan grabbed her tote bag from the ground, then he waited for her to slide in the car, then closed the door. Gliding a soft hand across the hood, he took his time to savor the beauty of the outside before opening his door and slipping into the driver’s seat. After closing the door gently, giving his baby the tender love and care it deserved, he smoothed a hand across the steering wheel feeling the power beneath his fingertips.

“Is it going to be like this the entire time? You making love to the car?” Deena snickered from the backseat.

“Oh, it is like making love. You gotta treat her right, doll. Every single time you drive her.”

“Are we talking about the car or Susan?”

He turned his head to glare at Deena. “Both. Now sit back and enjoy the ride.”

Susan chuckled, clearly used to Deena and her crazy words. He grabbed her hand, squeezed it, then lifted it for a tender kiss.

“Thank you. I would’ve been happy without this car. But I’m…” He pulled her closer, snaking a hand behind her neck and slammed his lips upon hers. He kissed her as if he’d never get the chance to kiss her again. The kiss was fast and rough. Full of his excitement and awe that she’d do this for him. It said how much he loved her and what waited for her when they were finally home and alone and he could take his sweet time to love every inch of her.

With aching patience, he slowed the kiss, making it soft and tender, like an easy breeze on a beautiful Sunday morning. His hand still cradled her neck as he pressed his forehead to hers. “Suzey baby, I love you. Why’d you bring the portrait here when you had this perfect surprise waiting for me?”

“Honestly,” she smiled with little devils in her eyes, “to mess with you. Get you fired up. All hot and bothered.” She rolled her head so her face was buried in his neck, her mouth close to his ear. “Sort of like you did last week when you came into my office, turned up the heat, getting me so close to an orgasm, and then said I’d get the rest later at home.” She pressed a kiss to his neck, then licked up to his ear where she bit it gently. “And we’re going for a long drive around town. I promised Dee we would. I might give you flashes of the portrait as you drive.”

He was hard as a rock at each word she said. He could be the devil incarnate, teasing her, building her up to torture her, so when she got home the fun was even sweeter. She was so perfect for him, she dished it right back.

Damn, but he loved this woman.

“Quit making out already and drive. I’m dying here.”

He chuckled at Deena’s annoyance, kissed his Suzey baby one more time, then cranked the engine.

Oh, but what a beautiful sound.

With one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding Susan’s hand, he drove away from his shop.

Life didn’t get any better than this.

For the complete story of Zeke and Zoe

  One Taste of You

  One night of glorious bliss.

One night turned into utter humiliation.

Zoe Sullivan doesn’t want to see the man who took her for a prostitute ever again. But when her boss is murdered, she can’t believe who the lead detective on the case is.

  One idiotic mistake.

One more chance to make it right.

Detective Zeke Chance vows to make it up to Zoe for the way he treated her. Nothing will stop him—except maybe the killer.

For the complete story of Ben and Rina

  One Taste of Love

Detective Ben Stoyer finally asked out Rina, the woman he pined over for way too long. She turns him down in her delicate, sweet way that he shouldn’t love. When the victim in his latest murder case looks just like her, there’s nothing that can keep him away, not even Rina herself.

Rina Chastain wants to give in to Ben, but she can’t. And she means can’t every time she tells him so. Her father would ruin it. He always does. Yet, Ben’s so charming she can’t help but give in. One thing’s for sure. The relationship is doomed to fail—by a serial killer, or her meddling father.

For the complete story of Dee & Sauer

  One Taste of Crazy

When it comes to women, shy and awkward are Detective Sauer’s middle name. And, well, the woman he wants to ask out is the exact opposite—loud and crazy. He can’t seem to form coherent words when Dee’s near. The minute she’s attacked, evidence connecting it to one of his murder cases, his shyness slowly starts to dissipate. Nothing will stop him from protecting her. Except maybe Dee herself.

Dee O’Malley isn’t naïve to think she’ll ever find love. Men never stick around. Ever. Not even a relationship with sweet, shy Sauer would last. But it’s oh so tempting to start one, especially when his kisses insist it’s possible. That doesn’t mean his kisses will stop her from finding the bastard who attacked her, something that riles him up. Besides, he’s adorable when he gets upset. And she can’t resist that.

  About the Author

I love anything that has to do with romance. As long as there’s a happy ending, I’m a happy camper. I love baseball (Go Twins!) and creating awesome crafts. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, working in that field for several years before I became a stay-at-home mom. When I’m not hanging out with my wonderful family, I’m writing a sweet contemporary romance or a romantic suspense that keeps you guessing until the end. I have a few more amazing stories in the works. If you would like to connect with me or see important news, head to my website at http://www.amandasiegrist.com.
