"Really? But you date models and actresses that are absolutely beautiful. So I find that hard to believe," she said lowering her lashes at turning a slight blush.

"Yes, but I do not have a connection with any of those women. Not the way I had connected with you after knowing you for so long. That's what makes good chemistry," I said.

Then she quickly stood up and said, "I should be going. I'm supposed to be here for Melissa and her party," then she turned and walked away. I called after her, “But I don’t want you to leave…” but I don’t think she heard me.

I was sad to see her go. I really did want to reminisce about our sexual escapade. It was a hot night and I wanted her to remember it with me. I guess that I would just have to try harder.

  GINA

The next night I could not believe what happened. It was after midnight and I was sound asleep, and Jared was in his room sleeping. I heard the sound of rocks hitting the glass of my bedroom window. At first I thought it was a bird in my sleepy state. Then it got louder and I heard, "Gina! Gina!" It was unmistakably the voice of Matthew. I got up from my bed quickly and ran to the window and pulled it open.

"Matthew? What are you doing? Have you lost your mind?" I said in a shouting whisper.

"Why do you keep avoiding me? What are you hiding? What is your secret? No one treats Matthew Jenison the way you are treating me," he slurred out the words and that is when I realized that he was drunk. I could not believe it. He had got drunk and found out where I lived. Then he came over here to harass me in this manner.

"Matthew, you are drunk. Go home. Someone will see you and you will be all over the gossip and tabloid papers! Is that what you want?" I said trying to get him to leave.

"You want me to leave! Fine I will leave!" He said as he fumbled with keys in his hand and they fell onto the grass.

"Shit," I said as I realize that I could not let him drive. Not in this way. I went downstairs and opened the door to him.

"Come in Matthew. You can sleep it off on the couch. You're not going to drive," I said is I took the keys away from him. He said something else that I could not understand because he was so drunk. I helped him stumble inside and laid him on the couch and pulled the blanket over him. In a few seconds he passed out cold. I could not believe this. The one person that I did not want in my house I now had sleeping on my sofa in the living room. I watched him sleeping and saw just how beautiful he was. He was so tall that he almost did not fit on my couch and that sort of made me laugh. This celebrity basketball player was nothing more then a lost man that didn't know why I was treating him the way I was. I sort of got a kick out of the fact that me ignoring him was driving him crazy, but I was sure that it was just because he saw me as a challenge and nothing more. Once a player like him was challenged by a woman, they wanted to conquer her and then be done with her. I paced back-and-forth and had to come up with a plan so that he did not meet my son. I picked up the phone and called Jessica asking her to be over as early as she could in the morning to pick up Jared. She agreed. I hardly slept the rest of the night fearing that my son would accidentally meet his dad.

In the morning I made strong coffee and waited for the gorgeous man on my sofa to wake up. I had successfully snuck Jared out an hour before with my sister Jessica who took him to her place. Finally the man awoke.

"Shit, what a my doing here?" He laughed a little.

"You mean you do not remember?" I asked him with an arched eyebrow.

"No, I feel very embarrassed. I woke up and did not know where I was, which is pretty normal for me. Then once I saw you sitting here I felt comfortable and glad that I was here. Did we…?" He said clearing his throat.

"No, we did not." I said laughing. "I woke up to you throwing rocks at my window, and then yelling and shouting different things at me from the grass. Then you threatened to driveway. So I took your keys and helped you stumble into my couch where you passed out immediately. End of story," I said looking at him and putting my hands on my hips.

"Shit, Gina I am very sorry. I got really drunk and I don't remember anything. I hope you can forgive me," he said as I handed him a cup of coffee.

  "I forgive you," I said.

"So, can I meet him? Is he here?" He said looking around the room. "Your son, Jared is he here? I heard he wasn't feeling well. Perhaps you and I can take him to get soup or something to make him feel better."

"He is actually at my sisters house. He stayed the night there last night. "I said moving around the kitchen as though I needed to be somewhere. "I need to get dressed soon to go to work. Are you OK to drive now?"

He said nothing and only stared at me for a long time. I felt like he was staring right through me. I was so nervous that I started to sweat. Then he finally said, "yes I am OK to drive. Thank you for taking care of me. I will go now." Then he got up and gave me a long look and walked out. I knew then, that he knew because I turned behind me and realize that his long luck was not directed at me. It was a photo of Jared and I, and it was a large one. He could clearly see Jared, and I knew then that he knew that Jared was his.

  MATTHEW

After I had the interaction with Tina in the atrium of my parents house, I could not stop thinking about why she kept running away from me. It was driving me crazy. It was driving me crazy so much that I needed to blow off some steam. A few of my old high school buddies came by and urged me to go out to the local bar. I finally agreed because I needed to blow off steam and I needed a distraction from Gina. But mostly I was wondering if it would be possible to get some information about Gina from the local towns people. Perhaps I would hear something that I did not know that would explain why she was being so mysterious. I got dressed and jumped in my car and headed to the local bar.

"Matthew! Jenison! "I heard various people shout as I entered the bar. I smiled and waved. I post for photos. I played pool with my Powells. I had a good time and it was just like Old times before I left the small town. However I did not hear anyone talking about Gina and I was starting to get frustrated. I drink more and more shots with my old friends and I started to feel angry that this woman, Gina was giving me the cold shoulder are. As I looked around the local girls were throwing themselves at me. All of them were trying to take me home. If I were in LA I would do it in a heartbeat as I usually did. But something had changed ever since I started to have this mysterious interaction with Gina. Now, no other woman would do. I did not want anyone else but her. Everyone else seemed boring to me. It was not exciting.

"Tell us some basketball stories! "My buddy yelled out. The entire bar cheered and I waved my arms in the air as though I was not going to do it.

"Matthew! Matthew! "The bar started to chant my name and I could not get out of it.

"Fine! All right! "I said calming them down and then I began to tell them the reenactment of a very close game a few months before. Everyone was in good spirits and made fun of me and I liked feeling like just one of the guys again and not getting show treatment. It was a nice change and it felt like I had never left. After entertaining the crowd with a few stories the music came back on and everyone was back to their own groups of friends chatting and having a good time. I sat with a few of my buddies at the killer as they flirted with women.

"It must be absolutely insane being famous. Do you have any privacy at all? "A cute blonde said as she sat next to me and placed a shot of whiskey in front of me. I looked at her and smile, not because she was flirting with me but because she had whiskey. I cheers her glass and chugged it down.

"Yes, it is insane being famous but I do what I can. I love my job. And the same just happens you be part of it. I can't complain, "I said as a looked at her and realize that I was slurring my words a bit. She laughed and thought it was cute. I stood up and played another round of pool. I needed to continue to be distracted and playing pool with my buddies was doing just the trick. A little later I found myself talking to the bartender and I finally found the information that I wanted. The bartender casually t
old me that he knew Gina that his sister was her babysitter sometimes and that he would drop her off at Gina's house which was on Brooks Street.

"You know, Gina gave me left her sweater in my car yesterday, and I need to drop it off but I lost her address. Do you think you could write it down for me? "I said to the Bartender very casually.

"Sure hold on a second, "he said as he grabbed a napkin and a pen and scrawled out the address and handed it to me.

"Thank you, I will go by there tomorrow, "I said as a grab the napkin and stuffed it in my pocket. Then I told my buddies I was going to the bathroom, but instead I left. I should not have been driving, but Brook Street was only a block away but that was no excuse because I do not even remember driving there. And I definitely did not remember making a fool out of myself as I did.

I stood in front of the small house looking up at the windows. I didn’t even know if she was alone and I did not care. I didn’t even know if it was her bedroom window, but I did not care. I called out her name, “Gina! It’s me! Stop ignoring me!” but nothing happened.

I picked up a few pebbles and threw them at her window. "Gina! Gina!" I called out.

"Matthew? What are you doing? Have you lost your mind?" she said in a shouting whisper.

"Why do you keep avoiding me? What are you hiding? What is your secret? No one treats Matthew Jenison the way you are treating me," I slurred out the words.

"Matthew, you are drunk. Go home. Someone will see you and you will be all over the gossip and tabloid papers! Is that what you want?" she said trying to get me to leave.

"You want me to leave! Fine I will leave!" I said as I fumbled with keys in my hand and they fell onto the grass.

"Shit," she said and disappeared from the window. Then she was at the front door and walking toward me.

"Come in Matthew. You can sleep it off on the couch. You're not going to drive," she said taking the keys from me. I mumbled out, “I love you,” but I don’t think it came out in actual words. She said nothing. She helped me inside and before I knew it I was passed out cold on her couch.

The next morning when I woke up, I thought I was back in Los Angeles for a few seconds. That was the only time that I woke up in unfamiliar surroundings. I assumed that I had got wasted and went home with a woman that I barely knew. Then I realized that I was on the couch and not in a Hollywood apartment. I sat up and grabbed my head. I had a terrible hangover. Then I heard sounds in the kitchen and I saw Gina making coffee. Gina? Then some of it came back to me. Being at the bar and how I found out where she lived and then coming here. I didn’t know why I had done all that, but I did. I got up and walked into her kitchen. She looked gorgeous even in the morning.

"Shit, what a my doing here?" I laughed a little.

"You mean you do not remember?" she asked with an arched eyebrow.

"No, I feel very embarrassed. I woke up and did not know where I was, which is pretty normal for me. Then once I saw you here I felt comfortable and glad that I was here. Did we…?" I said clearing his throat as I wasn’t sure if we did or did not.

"No, we did not." she said laughing. "I woke up to you throwing rocks at my window, and then yelling and shouting different things at me from the grass. Then you threatened to driveway. So I took your keys and helped you stumble into my couch where you passed out immediately. End of story," she said looking at me putting hands on her curvy hips.

"Shit, Gina I am very sorry. I got really drunk and I don't remember anything. I hope you can forgive me," I said as I accepted the cup of coffee.

  "I forgive you," she said.

"So, can I meet him? Is he here?" I said looking around the room. "Your son, Jared is he here? I heard he wasn't feeling well. Perhaps you and I can take him to get soup or something to make him feel better." I was excited to meet him.

"He is actually at my sisters house. He stayed the night there last night.” she said moving around the kitchen as though she suddenly needed to be somewhere. "I need to get dressed soon to go to work. Are you OK to drive now?"

I said nothing and only stared at her for a long time. Then I saw it. I saw the photo on the refrigerator behind her. It was of her and her son Jared. The photo was familiar to me because it was like looking at a photo of myself when I was three years old. I wanted to yell at her right then and there for not telling me. But this was not the way. I needed to think this over. I needed to find out if it was in fact true and not a coincidence. There were so many things that I needed to know and now with this hangover and making a fool of myself was not the time. So I finally just said, "yes I am OK to drive. Thank you for taking care of me. I will go now." Then I got up and gave her a long look and walked out.

I was going to take matters into my own hands. I was a celebrity athlete damn it. I think I could deal with my school sweetheart. I couldn't quit contemplating the amount I needed her, however more than that I couldn't quit thinking about the way she took care of the inquiries regarding her child. Most mother's would celebrate and demonstrate photographs on their telephone when asked about their kid, yet she acted the opposite. I had to believe that the child was mine. After I saw the photo it was too obvious to me. I didn’t know why she kept it from me, but I was going to figure out why.

I got dressed and held up outside the school where Gina's sister Jessica worked. I cornered her and she looked stunned.

"Jessica I have to ask for some help from you," I said.

She curved her eyebrows at me and said, "What help?"

"I need to surprise Gina this evening by taking her out for a pleasant supper, yet I can't do that since she'll turn me down in the event that she doesn't have a sitter."

"I see your point," she said. "I will head toward her place at seven pretty much as just a casual visit so when you arrive, I will helpfully be there to look after Jared."

"Great! Much appreciated Jessica," I said fulfilled that I had her sister's help.

At seven I appeared at Gina's. "Matthew! What are you doing here?" Gina said as she opened the front door.

"I came to take you to supper. We didn't get an opportunity to make up for lost time yet. Will you go along with me?"

  "I can't. I have my child and I'm not dressed and… "

"I'll watch Jared," Jessica said as she opened the door more extensive from inside. Gina gave her a sort of a look. At that point Jessica assumed responsibility. "Come in, pull up a chair while Gina get's dressed."

"Much obliged to you Jessica," I said grinning and pushing past Gina. She murmured and huffed however with Jessica on my side there was no chance that she was escaping this.

I strolled in and sat on the sofa and after that I saw him. The three year old version of me. It was Jared, it must be and he was unquestionably mine. It was too obvious now that I was seeing him in the flesh. I wanted to hold him and talk about it, but I didn’t want this to turn into a scene. I wanted to hear it from Gina first.

"This must be Jared," I said grinning as I took a look at him and afterward at Gina. She was squirming and froze and I needed to diffuse her restless state of mind.

"Yes, this is Jared," she said.

"Hi Jared. I am Matthew. Would you like to play?" I said as I got down on the floor with him and played with the train. "I'll play with him while you get dressed," I said to Gina. She grinned feebly as she took a gander at the two of us together and after that at Jessica before she cleared out of the room to get dressed.

I played with my child and it felt great. It felt right. I didn’t realize what reasons Gina had for keeping him from me yet, but I was going to discover them. Maybe she didn't care for me and did not need me in her life. Viewing my child playing filled my heart with happiness and I knew this was what I needed. This is what life was really about and not even being a celebrity athlete was better than this.

A few minutes later I watched as Gina said her loving goodbyes to her son, our son Jared. It was a surreal moment. Then I walked her to a black town that was waiting for us.

  “What
’s all this?” she asked.

“You will see,” I said as the driver opened the door for us. We both got in the back seat and we were on our way.

“You’re not going to tell me where we are going?” she asked.

“It’s a surprise,” I said as I watched her eyes grow wide as we got on the highway and out of the small town into the city.

We arrived at the lush hotel, and I took her up to the penthouse and opened the door for her. She took in a deep breath of air.

  "This is excellent," she said.

"I thought you might like it. I needed something more private. It's hard for me to go to an eatery and have any protection," I said as I walked her over to the table where the hotel had set up a candle lit dinner for us.

We dined with easygoing casual talk and then I couldn't take it any longer. I stood up and pulled her from her seat and pulled her near me.

  GINA

Matthew pulled me nearer to him and I needed to stop him. I needed to let him know this wasn't right for him and would not be useful for his profession. The world discovering that he has a child would bring about a media furor and maybe hurt his vocation, however I proved unable to stop him. When his lips bolted onto mine I could not stop. I required him severely. I had not been with a man since Matthew. He was the last.

"I've thought about this for quite a long time Gina," he whispered to me between kissing my lips.

"You have? About me," I whispered.

"Yes," he said as he lifted me up and conveyed me to the bed.

"I cannot wait to lick you and taste you with my mouth, "Matthew whispered to me. I sighed in complete passionate ecstasy as I listen to his words. He was turning me on and making me feel very desirable. I lost my will to stop him and I could not do anything other then enjoy the moment. I needed to feel him on top of me. I needed to feel him inside me. I wanted to feel every single part of his body. It was all that I could think of.

"I want you to taste me Matthew. It has been so long, "I found myself saying. Then that is what I will do, "he said.
