“My little Witch, I bind thee to me forever, you are bonded with me and are forever under my protection. I love you, Peri, my little one. I love you.” Josef finished and bit down into her vein, awaiting the first taste of her blood.
As it entered his mouth, he snarled, the blood so orgasmic that his seed erupted with force, deep inside her tight hole, as his system was overwhelmed. The taste was new to him, sweet, wild, perfect, and he lapped more inside, as he continued to thrust and milk his orgasm.
The mating bite took Gabe over, too, his thrusts becoming more fierce, as his climax overtook his entire being, Peri screaming in his ear, as she joined her mates.
When the three of them recovered slightly, Josef moved first, pulling out and laying at the side of Gabe, his hand stroking Peri’s face softly.
“We are bonded now, Peri,” Josef said. He could already feel the bond taking place, becoming stronger by the second, and it brought a smile to his cold face.
Gabe whispered against her hair. “We are mated now, joined forever, Peri, you are ours now.”
Peri moved her head and looked at Gabe, pressed a small kiss to his lips, then turned to Josef.
She disentangled from Gabe and moved over on top of Josef, pressing her lips to his, as her body lay on his bare skin. When she pulled back, she looked into his eyes. “I want to taste your blood now, Josef.”
Those words were like music to his ears, she wanted to taste him, she wanted to cement their bond. He was ecstatic, as he let his fangs descend once more and broke the skin on his wrist, before offering it up to his little mate.
Peri saw the blood pool on the wound and stuck her tongue out and lapped at it, the taste not what she expected. It was rather sweet-tasting, not thick, like it looked, not as she thought blood should taste like, no, this was not like anything she had tasted before. She found she liked it.
Peri lapped some more, and as it entered her system and joined with the blood from Gabe, her body shivered, quivered, and spasmed. What the hell was that?
“It’s okay, Peri, it’s the bond and mating taking place inside you. Don’t worry, it’s perfectly natural. Or rather it’s unique, there are no other instances where a female has had both a Vampire and a Wolf as mates. We will just have to see how this goes, though I am sure all will be well.” Josef had only just realized this, that Peri now had both his and Gabe’s blood inside her, working to bind them together.
Peri’s body started to shiver more, quite uncontrollably. Josef held her closer, tighter, starting to worry.
“Jo, what’s wrong?” Gabe was concerned. Peri surely shouldn’t be shivering like that.
“I’m not sure, I think it is maybe because she has the blood from both of us inside her. It hasn’t happened before, one female having two mates so different. Go and get a robe, we will keep her warm. We may need to call Liam, if she does not recover, we will need some advice on this.” Josef was worried, but he hid it well.
Gabe moved to get the fluffy robe that was lying on the floor. He returned and placed it over Peri’s still shaking body and lay next to his friend and his mate, his arm rubbing up and down her back, as she lay shivering.
Fifteen minutes passed and Peri still quivered in Josef’s arms, the feelings inside were more than overwhelming, more than scary. “Jo...” was all she managed before another bout of shaking overtook her.
“Gabe, call Liam. Now!” Josef was getting concerned, he could feel the turmoil inside her body, as if it was changing in some manner. They needed help, fast.
Gabe jumped from the bed and ran to get his phone, made the call.
“Liam, you need to get here. Now! Something’s wrong with Peri, you need to hurry man, hurry!” Gabe finished the call and moved back to the bed.
“Can I do anything, Peri? Do you want anything?” Gabe asked, his voice soft, gentle, full of concern.
Peri turned her head, saw his lovely eyes full of worry, worry for her. “Drink, water.”
Gabe moved quickly and got her a small bottle of water from the bar, brought it through, and opened it.
“Get a straw, Gabe,” Josef said. Gabe realized his mistake, moved quickly again to retrieve a straw and brought it back, put it in the top of the bottle, and held the straw to Peri’s lips.
Peri sipped, sipped some more, the cool water helping to ease the heat she felt inside, a heat that seemed to be growing inside her, even as she lay shivering in Josef’s arms.
“I’m scared,” she whispered, and Josef held her closer again.
“It’s okay, you are going to be okay, Peri. I will make sure of it. Gabe, phone Liam and ask him where the fuck he is!” Josef stared at the Wolf and saw Gabe’s eyes widen at the curse word coming from Josef’s lips.
However, Gabe retrieved the phone and placed the call. “Josef wants to know ‘where the fuck you are.’ His words, Liam, not mine.” Gabe listened for a minute and hung up.
“Five minutes, he’s five minutes away,” Gabe told Josef, who only snarled.
“Get me a robe, please.” Josef didn’t want his head Witch to appear while they were still naked.
Gabe nodded his head and went to get both himself and Josef a robe. When he returned, he wore his own robe and sat at the top of the bed, took Peri into his arms to allow Josef to get up and put on his own.
Josef watched his mate in Gabe’s arms, still shivering from head to toe. His worry was now getting out of hand, and he tried hard to rein it in. It would do nobody any good, if he lost control.
“Keep her there, hold her tight, Gabe, I am going to wait on Liam.” Josef saw Gabe nod his head, as he left the room.
He couldn’t stay and watch his little Witch suffer so, his anger was immense, his worry more so. He moved to the door of the penthouse and waited on Liam. His head Witch better have a solution, or Josef wasn’t sure what he would do.
Chapter 9
Liam was there in four minutes, not five. As Josef opened the door, he saw Donovan with the Witch, a look of concern on his face.
Liam came in and Donovan stood guard outside. The large Vampire clearly wasn’t going anywhere until he knew Peri was safe and well.
“What’s going on, Josef?” Liam asked his boss. The Vampire looked worried, very worried. Not something Liam had encountered before. Josef was always cold, hard, in control.
“We have gone through the mating and bond and something is wrong with Peri. She is shivering, shaking, not looking good at all. I have no idea what’s wrong.”
Josef’s words told the Witch just how worried the Vampire was. He raised an eyebrow at Josef, who only nodded towards the bedroom.
As they walked in, Liam saw Gabe on the bed holding Peri, both dressed in robes, as was Josef. That was also something he had never seen: Josef in a robe. The ancient Vampire was always dressed in sharp suits, and Liam was pretty sure nobody but Gabe had seen the Vampire so attired before.
Liam could clearly see the shaking form of Peri. Gabe held her tight and growled low in his throat, as the Witch approached the bed.
“I’m here to help, Gabe, I need to see Peri and try and figure out what’s going on. I won’t hurt her, I promise.” Liam was a little reluctant to go any nearer while Gabe was staring at him with such fierceness.
“Wolf, behave!” Josef barked, and they saw Gabe try to relax, though both thought the Wolf wasn’t succeeding very well.
Josef sat at the side of the bed and placed a hand on Peri’s white face. Her eyes stared back at him, and he saw fear in those gorgeous green orbs.
Liam moved to the other side of the bed and went onto it, getting closer to Peri, so he could try and figure out what was going on.
“All of you have bonded? Fully?” Liam asked, as his expert eyes took in what he was seeing in front of him. Using his vast powers, he ran his hand over Peri’s shaking back, feeling and seeing what was going on inside her.
“Yes, we have both marked P
eri, and she has had some of our blood,” Josef managed to get out in a clipped tone.
“Both of you? She has both of your blood inside her?” Liam asked, as his powers began to give him some insight as to the conflict inside the little Witch in front of him.
“Yes.” Josef kept his eyes locked with Peri’s.
Liam’s powers showed him several things, and just about everything was more than a little shocking. He wasn’t sure exactly what would happen, and he knew that both the Wolf and the Vampire were going to be upset. He was unsure how to proceed, he didn’t want either of those two turning that upset towards him.
“Liam! Tell us what in hell is going on!” Josef barked, and Liam jumped at the harshness of the tone. An upset Josef wasn’t something anybody wanted to deal with, especially him. He had seen what happened to people who upset the Vampire, and he wished to keep his head attached to his body.
Liam moved from the bed and walked back towards the living area, motioning Josef to follow. Gabe stayed where he was, on the bed holding his love. However, his Wolf hearing would pick up anything that was said.
Josef closed the bedroom door and went to the bar, pouring himself a very large single malt. Only after he downed the whisky did he turn to his head Witch.
“What’s going on, Liam?”
“Come and sit down.” Liam spoke quietly, not wanting to upset the Vampire more than he had to ... and he knew he had to.
Josef followed Liam and sat in his favorite chair, Liam sitting on a sofa opposite him, wringing his hands in his lap.
“Liam, tell me what the hell is going on!” Josef demanded.
“Josef, you have to stay calm. I won’t be able to help, if you rip my head off because you’re upset. So please just sit and listen to me, and we’ll take it from there, okay?” Liam saw the tightening in the Vampire’s jaw. Nobody spoke to him like that, nobody. Or if they did, they were usually dead a few seconds later.
Josef only nodded his head, not trusting himself to speak.
“Well, as you are aware, this has never happened before. I mean a mating between three, far less one between a Witch, a Wolf, and an ancient Vampire. I think the combination of the three blood types in Peri’s system is doing something to her ...”
Josef barked out, “What exactly?!”
“Josef, please, let me try and tell you what I saw and can sense. It’s not exact, as I said, this has never happened before, however, I can sense changes inside Peri. I have already told you all about the power I felt inside her, well that power, today, just now, well it’s no longer great, it’s now vast! I think that somehow the mating has strengthened her even more. I don’t know how, Josef, so there’s no point in asking me. All I know is that I can feel a change happening inside Peri. Her body is reacting to having both your and Gabe’s blood inside her, the bond, mating ... well, it’s changing her.” Liam stopped, wanting to gauge Josef’s reaction, wanting him to understand that part before he went on.
Josef sat still, very still, while he tried to process what Liam was saying. They had all known that this wasn’t something that had occurred before, but how could that have the effect it seemed to be having on Peri?
“Is there anyone with more information on this, Liam?” Josef was pretty sure there wasn’t, but he had to ask.
“No, Josef. This has absolutely never happened before. It is only because of your and Gabe’s special friendship that it has happened now. You know that if anything near to this had come about before that, the Vampire and Wolf would have fought to the death for the right to their mate. There’s nobody I can go to for more information, we’re flying blind here.” Liam could now clearly see the worry in his boss, worry for Peri, worry that Liam also shared. He wasn’t sure how this was going to pan out, not at all.
Josef nodded his head. “So what is going on inside her?”
“As I said, I can now feel so much more power inside her, but it’s more than that. I think it’s not just her Witch abilities that are being affected, I think it is her body, too. I can’t say for sure, but I think Peri is taking some of the strength from the blood she took inside, she’s taking strength from the blood of each of you. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and we can only hope that she survives whatever process is going on inside ...”
“WHAT! What the fuck do you mean, Liam?! Hope she survives? Do you have any doubts on that?”
“Josef! Please, we all need to stay calm. Peri’s body is weak, we all know that. She is underweight, gone through great trauma, and is still grieving for her friend. All of these have effects on the body, we need to watch her closely, but the truth is, I don’t think we can do anything about this. I think she has got to fight this with everything she has, and we can only hope she is strong enough.” Liam had seen the anger in the Vampire, wondered how close he had come to being killed, quite close he thought.
“She’s strong enough. If she can go through what she has, well, she is strong enough!”
“I hope so, truly I do. For now all you can do is keep her warm, safe, and loved. Give her something to fight for, Josef, it may be the deciding factor in this. In the meantime, I’m going to cast a spell, one which gives me a link to Peri, so I can keep an eye on things. If I sense any danger or great change, I’ll be in touch.”
Liam stood up and walked over to the Vampire, placed a hand on his shoulder, and gave it a squeeze.
Both were shocked at the action. Liam had never laid a hand on the ancient Vampire before and certainly not one to offer any kind of feeling or understanding. Josef looked up at this Witch and only gave a slight nod of his head.
Liam then walked back to the bedroom with Josef right beside him, and moved to be nearer Peri. He spoke some words softly and then placed a hand gently onto Peri’s head, gave her a smile, turned and left the penthouse.
Donovan was still on guard at the door and quizzed Liam about what was going on. Liam gave him the basics, and the large Vampire didn’t look happy. None of them were happy with what was happening.
Donovan straightened and stayed in place. He was obviously going nowhere until he knew Peri was fine, and God help anyone or any being that tried to make him move.
Liam walked slowly to the elevator with everything running through his head.
He had to try and find a way to help the little Witch. He WOULD find a way to help Peri. He just didn’t know how yet, but he would figure it out, he always figured things out.
Chapter 10
Josef sat beside Gabe and took one of Peri’s hands in his, rubbing it gently. “Do you want anything, Peri?” he asked quietly and saw his little mate look at him, though she was still shaking.
“A drink, Josef, I’m really thirsty.” Peri’s tongue felt as if it hadn’t tasted liquid in days.
“Okay, water or juice?” Josef asked, knowing Peri’s love for OJ.
“Juice, please.” Peri gave her Vampire a small smile, wishing her body would stop shaking, she had never felt like this in her life. Awful was the only word to use, no, scrap that, bloody awful was how she felt.
Josef came back with a glass of juice with a straw in it to make it easier for Peri to drink. He held the straw to her lips, and his eyes moved to Gabe’s. The Wolf inclined his head to let Josef know he had heard everything that Liam had said.
Josef saw worry in those eyes, a worry he was sure was reflected in his own. They had only just found her, they couldn’t lose her. No way, no how. They would both make sure that Peri made it through this. Whatever ‘this’ turned out to be.
Peri drank some juice and tried to work out what was going on inside her body. It was most strange, she felt as if she was somehow changing, but didn’t know more than that at the moment. She was only trying to control the shivering and shaking that was encompassing her entire being.
“What did Liam say?” she managed to get out and looked at Josef.
Peri saw a look cross her Vampire’s
face, as if trying to hide something from her. “Uh-uh, don’t lie to me, please tell me what he said.”
Josef sighed, he didn’t want to scare her, but didn’t want to keep anything from her either. He placed the glass with the juice on the bedside cabinet and moved further onto the bed, sitting close, and placing a hand on top of one of hers.
“Liam thinks that it’s some kind of reaction to having the blood from both of us inside you. That, together with you being such a strong Witch yourself, seems to be causing some kind of turmoil and possibly some kind of change. He’s not certain, Peri, this has never happened before, so we have to wait and see what happens. I don’t want you to worry, we’ll look after you.” Josef finished by leaning forward and placing a gentle kiss on her lips, and then giving her a reassuring smile.
“Oh, I see. I can feel it, inside, something is happening, but I’m not sure what. I’m scared,” Peri whispered, and she felt Gabe’s arms tighten around her.
“Don’t be scared, Peri. We won’t let anything happen to you. Trust me, my mate.” Gabe’s throat almost closed as he spoke, the fear he was feeling at the possibility of losing his mate having a great effect on him.
“Okay,” Peri said, before her body started to shake even more.
This latest round of shaking was as if her body had gone into a severe convulsion and both Gabe and Josef held her still, not wishing her to hurt herself, as she thrashed about in Gabe’s arms.
The Wolf and Vampire’s worry intensified, as they watched their mate’s body shake, shiver, and convulse. Christ, she better be okay, both thought, as they held her securely.
Peri’s body continued to go through spasms, and it was many minutes before they began to ease. She had all but lost consciousness, and as she came to, she realized she was cold, very cold.
“Cover,” she croaked. Josef had already been reaching for the comforter, as he had sensed her coldness. He tucked it around her and watched as she laid her head on Gabe’s chest and closed her eyes.
