  DELETED SCENE

**This scene is of Judith offering Carlos her favorite “beer.” Though I thought this scene was fun, it unfortunately got cut during editing.

“Do you want more water?” Judith asked as she went to the fridge.

  “Have anything stronger?”

  “Like beer?”

That got his attention and she smiled at his astonished expression.

Judith pulled out the glass bottle, uncapped it and handed it to him.

Carlos looked at the label and raised a brow. “Original Sin?” he said, shaking his head. “Baby, hard cider is not beer.”

She frowned. “Then what is it?”

“Sparkling apple juice?” he offered, laughing.

“Whatever,” she muttered, turning away from him. She went into the living room with the open drink, leaving him standing in her kitchen to enjoy his joke. When she had been introduced to beer, she found hard cider to be the only thing she could tolerate and she didn’t intend to waste it.

He followed her into the living room where she sat with her legs tucked under her. He didn’t speak until she looked over at him from across the sofa.

“Are you mad at me now?”

She didn’t answer, but instead took a drink of the carbonated cider.

“I’m sorry, muñeca. I should know better than to laugh at you in your own home.”

“Yes,” she said adamantly. “You should know better.” She should have sent him on his way by now but found, despite him laughing at her, that she enjoyed the company. She wrapped her hands around the cold bottle. “If I have to use my ID to buy it then its beer.”

He reached for the bottle and pulled it from her hands. “So you still get carded, huh?”

She watched as he brought it to his lips and took a drink. “Hmm, not bad,” he said thoughtfully. “Nothing special, but not bad. Just don’t tell anyone I had this.”

She rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry, you won’t lose your place among the wolf pack.”

He winked and took another drink just as Prince jumped on the armrest of the couch, startling them both.

  Carlos more so than her.

He fell into a fit of coughing and sputtering and she couldn’t help but laugh. He glared at Prince then turned his frown on her. She laughed louder.

“Your cat just tried to kill me,” he croaked, “and you’re laughing.”

She sniffed. “Well, that’s what you get for trying to show off.”
