CHAPTER SEVEN
Track
“She will need this it’s a tracking device we will insert it in her arm we will need to know where she is at all times.” E. Johnson stated. I knew what was coming. I carefully ran and jumped in bed remembering all the times I would sneak out of the house as a kid to go to the sunflower fields to think.
“How will you seal the wound so she won’t know?” Mrs. Adams asked.
“Agent Steel concocted a sealant that doesn’t hurt, sting, or itch that you just rub on and the skin in two minutes it will seal itself and look as if it had never been touched, and about pain well don’t worry she won’t feel a thing. Agent steel made something for that too.” E Johnson said. Then he walked in. I acted like I was sleeping. I slowed my breathing. I heard the footsteps get closer, then there was a tugging sensation on my arm. I knew that being the light sleeper I was it would have woken me up.
There was no pain just a tugging sensation and the texture of rubber gloves and hot sticky blood streaming down my arm, then it being rubbed away and a cream smearing on. E. and Mrs. Adam’s stayed for a while, then left.
When they were safely out the door and far down the hall, I ripped off my covers and turned on the lamp beside my bed. They were good. There was no trace whatsoever of what they had previously done.
I laid in bed the rest of the night thinking about all that had been said. Where were they sending me? What could they trust with my safety? Why did I have a tracker in my arm?
