“How long until the Phoenix arrives?” she asked Yokelis.
“Very soon O wise one, the destruction of the Xerrolux has begun, and the covert sentinels have been sent to extract her from earth,” Yokelis said.
“Are you ready to teach her Zrakil?” Manaka asked.
“I have been waiting for this moment since the Blue Dragon sunk its teeth into the neck of the Phoenix and took her life. I watched as she was killed and I watched as the Blue Dragon breathed shards of fire and ice upon her. It was in that moment that I swore revenge upon them and now the time has come when my beloved Phoenix will return and destroy those that took her life,” Zrakil passionately said, and with that she began her story of the Dragon and the Phoenix, which was a story that she witnessed first–hand and a story that would end up shaping Zerros and the many universes under its control for eons upon eons.
CHAPTER THIRTY–EIGHT
Back on earth, in the skies above the Invisible Dome, the battle raged on, and the golden, black and white knights continued to destroy and pulverize the silver knights. The silver knights fought back valiantly, and to their credit gave the knights of the betasapiens more than they could handle even though they were badly outnumbered.
As the second carrier saw the events unfolding right before their eyes, they continued to fire upon the Invisible Dome in hopes of destroying it, but for every shot they fired, the highly intelligent defense system which protected the dome snuffed out anything that came its way. Then suddenly, the commander of the silver knights gave the word, and the mammoth carrier began its charge towards the Invisible Dome in a suicidal attempt to destroy it and with it the betasapiens themselves.
As the carrier made its way towards the dome the commanders of the golden and black knights saw what was occurring and began firing upon it, but the carrier still kept coming and its speed increasing with every second that passed.
The defense system of the Invisible Dome also began shooting at it but still even with the damage that it was suffering it still kept chugging forward. Then without a moment of hesitation, the large carriers of the golden and black knights, realizing that their firepower was of little use began their charge towards the incoming carrier.
Then as the three gigantic carriers came closer and closer to impact, the knights on board, flew towards each other and battled in an impressive display of loyalty towards their respective causes.
Then with less than one hundred meters to impact everyone braced for what would surely be a collision of epic proportions, and as the carriers collided, the skies filled with fumes and smoke and it rained metal and fire down to the ocean below, and for now, the golden and black knights had fulfilled their duty as the dome was still intact and the battle was still in favor of their betasapien masters.
Meanwhile, back inside the Invisible Dome, Frank Brady and the board along with a host of other betasapien leaders watched in horror as the battle unfolded right outside of their homeland of Australia, and never in their lives did they think that they would have seen such a war unfolding right before their eyes.
“What happened to our carriers? Are they still intact? Are the golden and black knights still alive?” Frank asked.
“My master, some of them are flying out of the ocean and joining the battle above, but they have eliminated the threat. The humans have no carriers left, and the silver knights are being slaughtered, this clash will end soon,” Achilles said.
“Once the dome is still intact we will be fine Achilles,” Frank replied.
Meanwhile, as the battle continued and the majority of those within the Invisible Dome looked on. Unknown to the white knights; Milo and Roma finally arrived at mud lake, and as they entered the thick and muddy waters they began to pull out Usain and the rest of the white knights in order to begin their rebellion within the Invisible Dome.
As they pulled out their robotic friends who lay dormant and the bottom of mud lake waiting for the chance to be powered on again they began starting them up, and one by one the rogue white knights booted up and were greeted by Milo and Roma.
“Milo, I knew that you would come for us,” Usain said.
“My friends, I would never let you down. I’m glad to see you all but the time has come, and we must answer the call of duty. The humans need us,” Milo said, and with that the small band of rogue knights led by Milo, Roma, and Usain began making their way to the controls that kept the Invisible Dome intact in hopes of destroying the shield that kept the betasapiens safe and secure; and giving the humans a chance at victory in this one–sided battle for earth.
CHAPTER THIRTY–NINE
Back inside the downed carrier Ava finally began regaining her consciousness and as the somber crew saw that their spirits began to rise. As Ava opened her eyes, she looked around at the devastation.
“What happened? Where are we?” she asked.
“Our carrier was shot down, and we’re at the bottom of the ocean outside of the Invisible Dome, many of our crew were killed and injured,” Sarah replied.
“Is Max okay?” Ava asked.
“Yes he’s fine, he’s being tended to at the moment,” Sarah replied pointing to where Max was sitting and being tended to by his friends.
As Max saw that Ava had regained her consciousness he ran over to her, and they hugged each other, each of them glad that the other was alive and well. Upon seeing that, John came over to see Ava as well, “It’s good to see that you both are doing well,” he said to them.
“Thank you John,” Ava replied, and as she made eye contact with him, she felt a connection with him which was something she had never felt before.
She had a feeling of deep gratitude towards him for reasons unknown to her conscious mind, but in her subconscious mind, she knew that John was very important to her from what Galiac had told her back in the realm of the undead.
Then, in a language that only very few in existence could comprehend, John uttered the words, “Qi yntoom, qi sava tuur quz zel fini,” which meant, “I understand, I know what must be done.”
And as Ava heard the words, she replied, “Qi sava oorii u dis jesu, ure fi tul fetu ge yez su vamooz xi shala,” which meant, “I know you do my friend, now go and prepare as they are coming for us.”
Then as John and Ava’s quick and unknown conversation ended they both continued on as they were before the conversation, none the wiser as to what they had just said to each other.
“What do we do now Ava? We’re stuck, and we can’t get out, and the entire carrier has lost power. We’re trying our best to restore power and get out, but so far nothing is working.” Zeus said.
“If anyone can do it we know it’s you Ava, no pressure on you though,” Stryker told her with a smirk on his face.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere a group of approximately one hundred knights began firing upon the main control room of the downed carrier trying to get in and kill everyone inside. As everyone looked on in shock, Ava looked at the knights, and her mind went back in time to an eerily similar situation when she was on board the submarine in the Pacific Ocean which the knights attacked as well, and which ultimately led to Jonah’s unfortunate death.
As Ava quickly pondered upon the situation at hand, she knew one thing for sure, this time around, she knew better, and she wasn’t about to lose any more loved ones or any friends in the same manner as she did before.
Then her mind, due to the panic and fear that was setting in, began to act on its own and it was as if she was not in control of it. Then, with a survival mode type of reflex, she looked at the knights, and they were blasted away and disintegrated into pieces and began to float away from the carrier.
In the distance the crew of the carrier could see another mob of knights headed their way and as Ava saw that she somehow took control of the mammoth carrier and in a trance–like state she began to raise the carrier from the bottom of the seabed and it began to rise to the surface, without any power whatsoever, to the surprise and delight of everyone on board.<
br />
As the carrier rose from the water, the knights continued their assault on it and upon seeing that the superhumans began to fight the knights with their mental abilities and the small band of knights were killed off one by one and drifted to the ocean floor.
As the carrier made its unlikely journey to the surface of the ocean and majestically rose and sat upon the water, everyone on board was in shock as they saw the black and golden knights pulverizing and destroying the silver knights who were gallantly fighting for the cause in which they believed in.
Back inside the dome, the white knights in the control room within the Invisible Dome saw the carrier rise out of the ocean, and they ordered some of the black and golden knights to attack it, and as they made their way towards it the superhumans again killed them off one by one with help from Ava.
Upon seeing that, the white knights began to fire upon the carrier from the Invisible Dome, and as the carrier continued to be pounded with missile after missile, Ava put a shield around the carrier to prevent it from further damage. She then somehow managed to use her abilities to create orbs of fire that rocketed from the carrier towards the dome and as the white knights saw that they increased their firepower and the carrier began to take on extensive damage to its already fractured body.
As the fight continued, Ava’s powers began to dwindle from overuse and exhaustion, and the white knights continued attacking the almost defenseless and exposed carrier with their matter control technology.
As they began to shred the carrier apart Ava could see them from where she stood and as the rest of the superhumans fought back as best they could; the black, golden and white knights continued their assault on what remained of the badly outnumbered army of Freedom City and the silver knights of Russia.
As the obliteration continued, Ava could see her small army being decimated, then beneath her, the waters of the ocean began to churn in ways that it had never churned before, and beneath the surface, something mythical and supernatural was set in motion.
Then suddenly every piece of metal, every piece of dead flesh and bone as well as every piece of dead coral which hundreds of years ago supported and was an integral part of the vibrant oceanic ecosystem, began to come together.
As the ocean became more and more agitated, everyone looked on in bewilderment of what was happening. And as the elements came together and began to mesh and meld, unbeknownst to even Ava, her mind had somehow found what was left of Jonah’s deceased body which lay at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean and somehow melded what remained of it to her magical creature.
As the creature formed beneath the surface, no one could see exactly what was occurring deep in the waters below, but everyone knew that this was something beyond the forces of nature and was something that was beyond anything in their wildest imaginations. Little did they know that it was Ava who was bringing together the elements of the ocean and was in the midst of creating a beast unlike anything the world had ever seen.
As the ocean raged and the battle continued in the skies above, no one could have been prepared for what came next. Then, from within the deep and shadowy depths of the mighty sea, a beast arose and as everyone gazed upon it with stares of disbelief and horror the gargantuan beast which stood as high as a fifty story building began walking towards the Invisible Dome with one mission in mind – destroy the dome and everyone within it – or so it thought.
CHAPTER FORTY
As the almost mythical beast walked towards the dome; Frank Brady, Achilles, and the board looked on in horror, and as everyone watched in a state of frozen suspension, Achilles shouted, “Kill the creature! Kill it now!” as he pointed to the otherworldly creature that was being controlled by Ava.
As the majority of the black, golden and white knights flew towards the creature, the black and golden knights fired everything they could upon it while the white knights used their matter control technology and began ripping the creature apart – piece by piece; but still the creature continued its determined march towards the dome.
Back on the carrier, Ava gazed upon the beast which she created and using her unhuman–like abilities continued guiding it towards the dome while at the same time rebuilding the damage it was sustaining while being attacked by the knights of the betasapiens.
In the distance, Zeus saw a band of golden and black knights approaching the carrier, and as he shouted to Ava to destroy them, it was as if she had blocked out everything from her mind as she controlled the magical beast.
As the other superhumans saw the knights approaching, they used whatever mental abilities they had left to fend them off, but the band of knights still continued their flight towards the carrier.
Then, to everyone’s surprise, Ava began making her way to the outside of the carrier and as Max saw that he shouted, “Ava, what are you doing? You’re going to die, come back!” but Ava continued her trek to the outside of the carrier in a trance–like state of mind.
Upon seeing that; Sarah, Stryker, and John ran towards Ava, and as they tried to pull her back, small bolts of electricity made its way from Ava’s body and gave them mild shocks which were enough to prevent them from touching her further. Then, as Sarah and Stryker stayed back, John tried to grab Ava one last time and then in her trance–like state she looked back at John, and as their eyes met, John saw a slight glimpse of the future.
Then, in that split second as he tried to understand and comprehend what he just saw, Ava put an electric wall between her and everyone else on board the carrier, including John and she made her way to the top of the carrier. And as the black and golden knights saw her, they approached and they fired volley upon volley of missiles and projectiles towards her but they bounced off her like they didn’t even exist.
Ava then focused her full attention upon her creature, and as it made its way towards the dome it unleashed its fury upon the knights and began to mercilessly destroy them.
Meanwhile, the defense system of the Invisible Dome began its attempt to destroy the unearthly creature, and the white knights within the dome focused everything in their arsenal upon the creature and began firing upon it in hopes of killing it, but still the majestic beast made its way closer and closer to the dome.
Back inside the Invisible Dome, Frank watched in dismay and utter terror as the beast made its way towards the dome, and in the distance, he saw the carrier, and on top of it, he saw Ava. Then, as the white knights zoomed in on one of the cameras that was aimed towards the carrier and Frank saw Ava he instantly remembered her face and he stood there looking at her in utter shock and disbelief.
As Frank flashed back to when he first saw her face on the screen back in the control room he had an inkling that somehow he had seen Ava before, and now as she boldly stood within striking distance of his beloved dome he felt that he knew who she was. It was in this moment of fear that Frank realized that the prophecy that he and many others vehemently denied as well as his many dreams of his demise were indeed true, and no matter what he did, his death was just around the corner, and there was no way that he would escape it.
Then suddenly, the dome was rocked as the protective shield around it was hammered by Ava’s great beast, but true to its reputation, the shield was still intact as the imposing beast continued to mercilessly pound upon it. Then, from inside the main control room of the Invisible Dome, the white knights commanded all knights to surround the creature and as they surrounded the beast, they began to fire upon it with everything in their arsenal.
Meanwhile, some of the golden, black and white knights began to fly into the creature and explode themselves upon impact in true kamikaze style, and for each knight that ended its life upon impact with the beast, the beast slowly began to fall apart. But this time, for unknown reasons, Ava was unable to replenish the body of the beast as she had previously done.
Then, in a turn of events that no one could have predicted, the beast turned away from the dome and began to run towards Ava and as it did so the knights continued their blit
z against it.
Meanwhile from within the dome, Achilles and the rest of the knights looked on with a glimpse of optimism as to them, the beast was retreating, but instead of commanding the black, golden and white knights to stand down they ordered them to continue to fight against the beast. And as the beast ran towards Ava, who stood on the carrier, everyone on board the carrier, including John, Stryker, Sarah and Max looked on helplessly as Ava stood out in the open and the beast made its way to her.
Then, as it came closer, Ava looked up at the beast and as the knights continued their onslaught upon it, the beast focused only on Ava and as it reached her it grabbed her and held her in its hand and then it turned around to face the hordes of incoming knights. And as the knights flew towards the beast it shot out a pulse of energy towards them and obliterated every single knight that was within the range of the powerful and deadly pulse and they all died in an instant.
Upon seeing that, Achilles called the rest of the knights to retreat and to stand guard at the dome for another potential attack.
Back inside the carrier, the superhumans looked on in delight as almost half of the golden, black and white knights that remained were eradicated by Ava’s magical beast. As the silver knights saw that, what remained of their decimated army returned back to the carrier and they stood in mid–air in a defensive mode ready to protect their allies from the threat of the betasapiens.
Then, to the delight of those on board the carrier, the beast turned around and lowered its hand and gently released Ava back to the surface of the carrier. And as Ava lowered the shield that protected her friends and prevented them from exiting the carrier they began to run towards her and as she turned back to look at them she was no longer in a trance–like state as everyone from within the carrier began to make their way to the flight deck.
