Then she said good bye to him and left that place. After her departure the only

thing Sumit uttered himself,“You left me. You thought that I will forget you after some days. I am not the person who will cry in his whole life after your departure. I will prove myself that I will exist without you. But one thing that you are my first love and I can’t forget you in my life because U broke my heart and the pieces of my broken heart is continuously hurting my whole body like the pieces of broken glasses in my pocket...

  10.The Present

  July 01, 2017.

I still remember that day very well. It was the

day Sumit had his crush on Puja eight months back. But today it is different from that. It is raining heavily outside. The atmosphere is quite cool and we have gained a new sense of energy after the summer vacation. We are in the hostel as our practical exam is coming soon. After the vacation we all are feeling relaxed.

It is nearly 6:30 PM in the evening. I with my best buddy Sampark were trying to design a website on my computer. Someone knocked on my door. I opened it. It was Suman who knocked the door accompanying Sumit. Both had got heavily drenched in the rain & they were looking for an

immediate shelter. Sumit had fallen half asleep on the shoulders of Suman & he was completely out of the scene. I allowed them to come into my room and offered them a towel. I reached out to Suman for explaining me the issue. And then what he spoke up completely got me a power packed shock. He described that, Sumit had just visited a famous Hookah Bar in a famous Hotel in the nearby city Sambalpur. Sumit had some hard drinks along with some five or six kinds of flavoured hookah consuming for the first time in his life. He had some severe hangover then & the hotel management contacted Suman from his emergency call list to drop the boy at home as he was not in his senses. The whole narration made me surprised. The boy who told me one day that he would never take any type of pottle in his future is out of control today. I am feeling so bad for him. We took Sumit to his room & safely made me sleep over the bed. I had a heart broken at such condition of my dearest buddy.

The new sun has arisen with its red beam. A scary night has just passed from the life of Sumit. He was feeling fresh now. He came to me for apologizing for his mischievous activities last night. For the last time, Sumit opened the photo gallery of his cellphone & having a glance at the pics of Puja for the last time, he deleted all those pics & also all Facebook conversations.

Then he made a phone call to his mom and told her everything and apologized that he could not do so well in the last semester exam due to his love affair. Her open minded mom also forgave him and said that the first love always came to every one’s life. Sometimes it made the person successful or destroyed the person. But she was so happy because his son returned to her by forgetting all the past days and tried himself to enjoy a new life. After hearing his mother’s word he felt a new energy inside his body and determined to go ahead.

Finally, Today I’ve completed writing my first story book ‘My Heart Skips A Beat!’ just now. The story is mostly inspired by the true life incidents of my friend Sumit. I want to say that girl that if she could give an opportunity to my friend in her past, I am dead sure that she will be the luckiest girl in her future because from my point of view nobody can love her more than my friend.

Here I prefer to change all the names of the persons & modified some of the events to maintain the privacy of the persons involved. But, to be very honest, my friend Sumit’s true love will be memorable for me for the rest of my life.

This is my story. Every story has a hero. The more sorrows he gets and overcomes them successfully, the bigger hero he becomes. You are the hero of my story by overtaking all your pains and sorrows after her departure. You are the real hero for me, Dear Sumit and I am feeling proud to be your friend by writing your true love story!

  THANK YOU!
