Your Husband My Trick Page 11

by Solae Dehvine

Lark wasn’t answering the phone for me, and neither was her dry ass sister. The main bitches in my stable, and they couldn’t even call me back. I tried to hit up Astro, but he was busy on a new venture of his own, and then to top it all off I get invited to the studio by my bitch to hear a track that I never gave her permission to record.

Yet here I was in the studio, after being down and out for a couple weeks dealing with some serious shit, only to hear a hit coming through the studio speakers.

“Your husband, My Trick, Make yo nigga suck my dick.” But the words made my blood hot.

“Where you get this hook from?” I knew she didn’t write it. The shit was too brash, too catchy, the bitch had a good voice but her writing skills weren’t on this par.

  “Fendi, I told you. Remember?”

“Play that shit back.” I asked the engineer, but before he could, in walked the man responsible for this shit.

“Yo Astro.” The engineer called out. “I’m done mastering and mixing it bro. Take a listen.” The beat came on solid and then the lines.

“Your husband, My Trick, Make yo nigga suck my dick. You call me the sideline but I’m more like a solid chick. Getting my bills paid by yo man naw don’t throw a fit.”

  “WOOOOOOO” Astro screamed.

“See I told you.” The song went on and I took everything in me not to slap this bitch across the room.

She didn’t record this with you cause she knew better. With every word I felt like she was talking about me, and I couldn’t stand it. Three minutes lasted too long and by the time it was over my hand was itching.

“What you think?” Lark asked me.

“It’s a hit but...who told you to record this?” The room went quiet. “It was after work one night. You were busy and Astro was here, so we recorded it.”

“So you produced my woman’s record?”

“Man if you want the credit it’s cool, you can have it. I just wanted to help her. She’s a dope artist, we were just…” I saw him glance at her, the look in his eye didn’t take long for me to connect the dots.

“I think that shit was out of line dawg. You should have called me. That’s a violation man.”

  “A violation nigga…”

“Baby what’s the problem? I’m just making music and…” I sent her a look that stopped her from talking instantly. I was just about to curse her the fuck out, when the door swung open again.

“Owwww….let me hear that song.” It was Fendi, and behind her was Uzi. That was the only thing that made me smile.

“Yooo what up, what up?” I pushed past Astro’s bitch ass and gave Uzi a shake. “What up with it dawg? What you doing here?” I glanced from him to Fendi. I hadn’t seen her since she got here, we seemed to always miss each other, but I needed my bread and when I called she never answered.

“Aww man I’m coming here to holla at you.”

  “Oh word. What about?”

“Fendi was telling me you bought her plane ticket and some clothes or something right...?” I glanced from him to her. She was laughing it up as the song played again, dancing away with Lark over it.

  “Yeah, that’s our business.”

“Naw, it’s my business now. That’s my woman, so how much I owe you play boy?” Pulling out a stack from his pockets all I saw were blue faces. He started counting before I could even get the words out.

“Shit, right now it’s like at five grand, with all that shopping shit they did but….”

“Aww five racks? That’s it? Here…” He stuffed bills into my hand. “I would consider this debt between you and my woman done, right?” He put his hand out to shake mine, but I felt like I was on Punk’d, why did this bitch want him to do this now? She had to have put him up to this.

“So she straight a’ight? Ain’t no threatening shit going on. And her aunt’s crib? Let me know what she owe you for that, and I’m gonna take care of it.” I looked at Lark now.

“Bitch you telling my business?” I screamed over the music. “Kill that shit man.” Rushing over to Lark I grabbed her by her collar.

“Bitch you telling my business?” And before she could answer I felt hands on my arm pulling me back. “Hold on nigga, don’t be grabbing her like that, what the fuck is wrong with you?”

“This ain’t got shit to do with you Astro…”

“Nigga you tripping, don’t do that shit.” He was puffed up in my face with Fendi, Uzi, the engineer, and Lark all watching from the side. The shit looked like something off a movie, I had to laugh.

“Aww shit…” I chuckled. “I see what’s up here. You're fucking my bitch.” He blinked his eyes, stunned probably that I had figured it out.

“You are, aren’t you?” He held his ground still, managing to look me in my eyes, but I saw it.

“Aww okay, so you wanna be with him?”

“Don’t talk to her, talk to me.” Me and Astro went back a few years. We met on the grind in the music business, but now the nigga was crossing the line.

  “So that’s how it is?”

“Yeah, pretty much nigga.” Astro growled, a few of his goons standing up, and after all it was just me by myself.

“Get ya shit out my house bitch.”

“I already did. I haven’t lived there in a week.” The bitch was fully out of pocket and here I was getting pushed out of a studio session I paid for.

I wanted to spaz out, I was ready to kill every person that was in front of me, but it was the middle of the day and I was out numbered.

“Yeah...this shit ain’t over.” I told them, as they backed me out the door I blew a kiss to Lark.

“Bye bitch….cause you're gonna regret the day you did this.” Turning around I walked out to my car with a smile on my face, but in my heart I had already plotted my revenge.

  Dissolution

  Lark

I couldn’t breathe, my heart was beating like a drum in my chest.

“You did the right thing.” Fendi told me, but it didn’t feel like it. I felt scared and my hands were shaking.

“It’s okay baby. It’s cool.” Astro was there rubbing my arms. “That nigga ain’t gonna do shit.” They could say that now, but I knew how crazy Don could be.

“Y'all don’t understand. That nigga is wild, I didn’t mean for it to happen this way.” I was going to break it off with Don but I had a different approach planned. I had already moved out of the house and got a place. I was going to tell him that I was going back to school and not stripping anymore. He had no use for me if I was doing the school girl act. He would just want his money and disappear from my life. Now he had turned into my enemy, and even worse.

“Your husband, My Trick, Make yo nigga suck my dick.” Was playing and I could tell that the song pissed him off.

“Baby you good...you're safe.” I was staying with Astro over the past week, we had some long talks about our future and where things were going. I felt like in this short time of being with him I was finally seeing what it felt like to be loved by a real man.

“I know I’m just...I know how petty he can get. I want you to be careful.”

“Oh I’m good.” Astro said laughing. “Trust me, that nigga ain’t gonna bother us. He’s got other shit to worry about.” I wanted to know what he was saying but Fendi was here.

“I’m about to go girl, me and Uzi about to hit it. You gonna be good?” I wasn’t sure about her and Uzi, it was him coming in here paying that started this whole shit.

“Let me talk to you Fendi.” I pulled her away to the side. “What was Don talking about? What did you tell Uzi?”

“Nothing, just...I told him I wanted to pay Don back for Aunt Trini’s house.” I knew I should have never told her.

“That was between me and him, why the fuck would you tell Uzi? That makes him look like a bitch.”

  “Why do you care?”

“Because when he gets embarrassed the motherfucker goes crazy, do you understand? This shit could have been av
oided.” I wanted to strangle her. She didn’t think about anybody but herself, and now she put me and Astro in danger.

“Calm down, I told you that I was going to pay and take care of this.”

“But you did it wrong. You're always doing shit like this. Coming into my life, taking over in your way. I had the shit handled, now we gotta deal with it while you go fuck off.”

Astro was at my side by that time.

“Whatever. Sorry I tried to save you from getting your ass beat. Have fun bitch, I’m good on you.” She and Uzi walked out, leaving Astro at my side.

“Baby you trust me?” I turned to him, looking deep into his eyes.

  “Yeah I trust you.”

“Then know I’m not going to let his bitch ass come near you.” He said looking around.

“Come here...let’s go in the bathroom.” I did as he said, ducking into the bathroom. Just me and him in the small studio bathroom.

“Dial the number to Club Diamond for me.” He said giving me some janky flip phone.

  “Why…?”

“It’s a burner phone. Just do it.” I knew the number by heart and dialing it I handed the phone to him.

After a few rings someone answered.

  “Club Diamond.”

“Hey yo...Y’all gonna get robbed tonight.”

  “What?”

“I’m warning y’all. Get your security together and keep your eyes open. Niggas are coming to rob y’all.” He said it slow and before anyone could ask questions he hung up.

  “Oh shit…”

“I know that nigga. He’s mad, so he’s going to try to do something big to show he’s the shit. When he does, they gonna light his ass up.” I was so happy I gave him a dozen kisses on his neck and cheeks.

  “That’s fucking brilliant baby.”

“So you see. I got this shit taken care of.” He had one side taken care of ,but not the other. Fendi was still running around like she was hot shit.

“What about my sister?” I asked him.

“Just let it go boo. She didn’t mean no harm.” But I wasn’t sure about that. He didn’t know Fendi like I did, and to me she always meant harm. It was her middle name to do harm.

“Yeah maybe you're right. But what about my song?”

“She already signed for her rights. I produced the song and I already gave the beat guy money for the track so...if you want we can put it out there?” That made my pussy moist.

“You mean it? I’m going to be a star?”

  “No...You are already a star.”

“I love you…” I blurted it out, trying to catch the words as they came out, and before I could he gave me another surprise.

“I love you too.” We kissed, a deep kiss and hug that I needed so badly.

“So let me go out here, I think I’m going to call a connect and see about getting it on the radio.” That made my cheeks hot. I couldn’t speak as Astro left me in the bathroom, but as I paced the floor I still couldn’t stop thinking about Fendi.

“Fuck that bitch...let her burn.” And burn she would. I didn’t know how, but I was going to torch that bitch for how she did this. It could have cost me my relationship and some business, so now we weren’t sisters, we were enemies.

  Back To the Bullshit

  Fendi

“Damn baby, I don’t want to leave you.” He kept saying it over and over again. I didn’t want him to leave either. In the last couple of weeks me and Uzi had gotten so close it was like we had been together for years. “Damn girl. Look how that motherfucka spitting.” He was talking about my dick. Cum shooting out all over the sheets like a waterfall. We had just got done fucking, but the aftershocks of his love making still had me cumming as he got dressed.

“That’s what you do to me baby. You make me like this.” It was the truth. I hadn’t had a relationship like this before. We were so wild and free, but only for each other.

“Go ahead and clean that up. We gotta shake out of here and get to the airport.”

  “What?”

“Yeah I told you, I gotta go handle some business for a few days. Might be gone for a week or so.” I forgot that he told me that, he was a little high when he said it. I was hoping that it was a joke, but now as he packed up the hotel room I saw the shit was real. My boo was leaving me.

He was packed and ready to go.

  “A’ight give me a kiss.”

  “Damn, already?”

“Come on girl.” He laughed. “I gotta go before I miss this flight.”

  “What about me?”

“Meechi will be up in a couple of hours and take you to this new spot I got for you. You wait there until I get back.”

It sounded like a plan to me, it wasn’t the same as being with him but it was close enough.

We kissed and he was gone.

“Be ready for me when I come home. Round 2.” I wished it was right now because I was ready to go. But he left, leaving me in the hotel room alone. Pulling my robe on, I turned on the radio and started straightening up.

Uzi was finally listening to me and renting an official spot. No more of this hotel to hotel shit. I wanted to be somewhere I could cook and really relax, and he said he found the perfect spot to surprise me. I couldn’t wait, when he got home we were going to fuck across every part of the place.

“Alright we got a new one out here. Take a listen.” “Your husband, My trick, make ya figga suck my beep…”

“OH SHIT!” I screamed “SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!!!” It was my sister on the radio. I twerked my ass, shaking and grooving until I heard the door open.

“Baby is that you?” Turning around my dick was swinging, but the person in front of me wasn’t Uzi.

“Oh shit.” It was Meechi, his short frame was standing in front of me with his mouth was wide open and eyes looking down.

  “Oh shit.”

  “My bad, my bad…”

“Meechi.” I closed my robe and tried to explain but he was already out the door.

“Just make sure we keep this shit on the low.” I heard Uzi in my head, and I had fucked up everything.

“Shit, shit, shit…” I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t face Meechi now. Plus Uzi was gone, what if they tried to hurt me.

“SHIT!” The only thing I could think to do was call Lark, but I hadn’t spoken to my sister in almost a week. With shaky hands I dialed her number.

  “Yes Fendi.”

  “Lark”

“What is it Fendi?” She sounded tired of me already and I hadn’t even said a word.

“I need your help...I need to come stay where you are for a few days...I…”

  “Fendi no…”

  “They know. They know Lark.”

“Who knows?” I told her quickly what happened and the line went quiet.

“Fendi you gotta get out of there.” Again I was running, tossing my things into a suitcase.

“Shit, shit, shit…” I was dressed in seconds.

“Take an Uber and get to me fast. I told you these Houston niggas don’t play.”

“Text me the address and I’m on my way.” She did as I said and we got off the phone. I called Uzi but of course the phone went to voicemail.

“Baby...some shit happened and I didn’t mean it. I was just dancing and I thought it was you coming back in but...It’s fucked up. I love you.” Hanging up I grabbed my things and tiptoed out the door. Meechi wasn’t there so I took the stairs. Maybe this was my fate, maybe it was impossible to find true love without people judging. If that was true, maybe I was better off dead.

  Rising Tides

  Lark

“A tropical storm headed to the Houston area has been upgraded to a category 3 Hurricane.” I was busy trying to watch the news but Fendi was pacing the floor.

“He hasn’t called me. It’s been almost a week. He’s going to kill me. Dammit.” She was busy worrying about Uzi but I was trying to figure out my own damn issues.

  “F
endi. Shut up, I need to hear this.” I had been following the news all day. People were talking about a storm for the past week but now it was just a day or so away.

“But it doesn’t look like anything outside.” Fendi said pulling back the curtains. She was right, everything did look clear and bright, but that meant nothing while on the bayou.

“Girl that can turn into a full blown flood in a matter of hours. I don’t think it’s rained since you’ve been here.” She had no clue what this Houston life was about.

“Maybe we should leave then.” I wanted to laugh in her face and tell her it was no big deal, but the truth was that it could be something big.

“I don’t know, maybe we should, but I gotta see what Astro wants to do and…” A horn blared outside and wouldn’t stop.

“Who is that honking?” I asked Fendi.

“Oh my God...It’s Astro.” I jumped up to look out the window and there he was. Standing outside his car leaning in to honk the horn. It would have been normal, except the white t-shirt he was wearing was covered in blood.

“NOOOOOO….” Getting down the stairs felt like it took years.

“Someone call 911.” Fendi screamed to the neighbors.

  “Baby…”

“I’m good...I’m good. It looks worse than it is.”

  “Who did this?”

“That bitch ass nigga Don. I know it was him.” I held him up as I heard the sound of an ambulance in the distance.

“They are coming, you're going to be okay.”

“Listen to me. I gotta get you out of Houston you hear me. This motherfucker is crazy, he can’t let you go.” I heard his words, let them sink in as the ambulance pulled in.
