“You will do absolutely anything for attention.” Meeks threw him a cigar and he winced as he tried to catch it.
“I have to tell you that last night was probably the most fun I have had since we came east. It’s good to be back together in the real sense.” They all agreed. “You found my gun didn’t you?”
“It was still in your hand.”
“Okay. I couldn’t remember if I dropped it when I fell.”
Mirisa stood in the doorway with a tray of hot tea when they all realized she was listening to them. Dominic stood and took the tray from her setting it on the table after moving Meeks feet out of the way. They knew that even though she wanted to know she would not ask them. None of them really wanted her to know that under the men she thought she knew were cold blooded killers that actually took great pleasure in it. There wasn’t a conscience between the lot of them nor would they ever go looking for one.
“Obviously, I know very little about the men in this room.” They all looked at her in silence waiting for the shoe to fall. How could men be so afraid of someone who cried all the time and barely weighed 90 pounds? You could see her chest rise and fall as she struggled with her emotions. “And, obviously I love all of you very much.” She turned without seeing the impact that the statement had and she headed for the stable. This time it was Mirisa who needed to be alone. They let her go believing she would spend the day in the kitchen avoiding them.
“Where are we going?”
“Texas.”
