Chapter ONE
After Ten Years
A guy walks in a bar and freezes. Not because he saw a rabbi, a priest and monkey enjoying a round together. No, he froze because what he saw was a woman from his past he’d been searching for his entire adult life. His breath caught and his brain shut down, making all rational and intelligent thought cease. This woman… she was just as beautiful as she was the last… the only time he saw her.
He’d seen her as he was walking out of the bar and she was going in and, thinking his mind was playing tricks on him, he went right back inside, hurriedly saying goodbye to the other lawyer he was meeting with in Dancy’s private, exclusive area.
Needing to stay close and keep her in his sights, Charles Christian Ford moved closer and practically stumbled over air when she turned his way and he saw her face full-on. He knew now, without a doubt, it was her. If it wasn’t, then the woman he pined after for over ten years had an identical twin like he did. He frowned. Even if she did, this wasn’t her twin. No way in hell he could be as attracted to a twin as he was to that woman… this woman.
All these years… over ten of them… and bam! There she was, in the flesh and to him, it appeared she had not changed. Not one little bit. She was still as milk chocolate as he remembered. And oh so juicy. Sexy.
She was wearing black shoes with silver heels; ‘fuck me’ shoes, he always thought of them. Sky high, just made to hold while she accepted his rod deep inside her. Her dress was also black; clinging to her curves and low-cut, showing off cleavage that jiggled when she walked, proving they were indeed what God gave her… not bought as most ample-breasted women were in this state.
Charles eyed the woman as she and her friends walked further inside and thought of how to approach her. Should he say his name is Charles or Les, as he’s been called since he was a child because his twin, David Andrew Ford II… Andy… had the hardest time with his speech and could not pronounce ‘Charles’ without it coming out as ‘Tharles’. After many hours in speech therapy, Andy’s lisp was gone but he now refuses to call his twin anything other than Les or that other name that drives Les to the brink of insanity which, of course, makes it all the more fun to natural joker Andy.
Les watched as his future wife walked to a narrow podium. She was given a badge and nodded at the hostess as she pinned the badge to her dress. Now that damn dress made Les extremely jealous because it was able to be wrapped around her skin when he so badly wanted to himself.
Then the woman laughed at something someone in her group said and Les’ heart fluttered as the sound filtered to his ears. That laugh even sounded the same to him and also had the same effect on his lower body.
Yes, he thought, this is definitely the woman that took my virginity.
When they met, Les was 22 and had never been inside a woman’s body. He wanted sex before that, sure, but he couldn’t find anyone to connect with, no matter how hard he tried. There were girls he dated throughout high school and college but none of them appealed to him, not enough to want to be inside her. Les, unlike his twin, wanted his first time to be with someone he was attracted to as well as someone he could be connect with on more than a physical level and not just because she was… well, a she.
But this woman… this beautiful woman of color… he wanted so much to attract her when he first laid eyes on her at his hotel’s water bar in Daytona Beach, Florida. He even remembered the damn date: July 24th, 2007. She instantly attracted him, physically at first, then with her mind when she showed the ability to hold a decent conversation with him. The more they talked, the more he wanted her.
There she was in a black and green-striped swimsuit, her thick, smooth thighs playing peek-a-boo under a green, sheer sarong as she walked to the water bar and sat, her toes softly wading in the water as she softly smiled and watched a group of people playing with a beach ball further out in the water. Her hair was black and she had tiny braids with the ends curled and falling down her shoulders. Nice, Les thought. Very, very nice.
“Hey, Keely!” The woman called out in a laugh. “Where the hell did your boyfriend go? Your team needs some serious help!”
“I don’t know,” the Keely woman called back, laughing. “I think he’s draining.”
Les smirked then moved to the water bar, sitting in the seat next to her. He ordered a Corona and smiled at the woman. To his relief, she smiled right back.
“Hi,” Les smiled bigger. “Looks like they’re having fun.”
“I’m sure they are,” she laughed, giving him chills. It really was a sexy laugh. It was rich and deep; very throaty and sounded like a siren’s call to his ears.
“You don’t want to join them?”
“No way,” his future wife laughed again, causing Les to shift in his seat. “They are too rough and show no mercy. Watch this. My cousin’s friend just came back and he’s the ringleader.”
Les turned back to the group and watched as a burly man of color splashed in the water and immediately attacked Keely. He dunked her so fast that Les actually stood up and waited to see if she needed help. His ‘wife’ put her hand on his forearm and stopped him.
“Keely’s fine, trust me,” she smiled. “Jake’s her boyfriend and he plays rough. She adores it and can handle him. Watch.”
Les, fighting shudders at her touch, turned back in time to see Keely come up behind Jake and return his favor, dunking him hard and fast into the water. Les laughed, unsure how such a petite woman dunked that big man.
“See?” His ‘wife’ laughed. “Nothing to worry about with Keely.”
“I do see,” Les laughed. “Good for her.”
“I agree,” she nodded then took a sip of her drink.
Les stared at her lips as he finished his beer then smiled at his ‘wife’. “I think I’d like a swim. Care to join me?”
“Sure,” she smiled then held up a stern finger. “But no dunking.”
Les laughed. “No, of course not. I promise I’ll be a perfect gentleman.”
“I believe you will,” she smiled wider. “It’s radiating off of you.”
“Good. I’m--” Les started then his ‘wife’ shook her head, making him stop mid-sentence.
“No names,” she smiled. “It would only ruin it.”
Les frowned. Not possible. Curious, he asked, “Ruin it?”
“Yes,” she grinned. “When we’re satisfied, and have to walk away, the only memory we have will be o
f us falling apart in one other’s arms multiple times.”
Les swallowed hard. “You feel it too, then?”
“I do and did as soon as you sat down.”
“I did as soon as you walked over here,” Les nodded. “I watched you as I sat on one of the loungers over there.”
“Watching me, huh? That’s stalkerish and kind of sweet at the same time.”
“So are you,” Les smiled. “The sweet part. But I need to call you something other than ‘hey you’ when I’m deep inside you. Do you think ‘God, you feel so good, hey you’ sounds right? It doesn’t to me at all.”
She blushed. Les felt himself harden.
“Okay, how does, ‘God, you feel so good, honey’ sound to you?”
“Sounds very good to me,” Les murmured. “What are you going to call me?”
“Hmm… how about ‘babe’? You’re a total babe tanned like that, with those piercing eyes and that brown, blonde streaked hair. Geez, did you visit a salon recently?”
Les laughed. “The streaks are from the sun. I’ve been out here all week, hence the tan.”
“This is my first day out here,” Honey smiled. “I believe too much color doesn’t look right. Besides, I sport a year-round tan and don’t want to get any darker.”
“I disagree,” Les said as he held out his hand to her. “I think a shade or two more on you wouldn’t be bad at all, honey. On me either.”
Honey giggled as she took his hand and slid off her stool. She removed her sarong then placed it and her purse on the bar. “Watch my things, please, Ray?”
“You got it, Honey,” Ray smirked, emphasizing the word ‘honey’.
Les and Honey waded further in the water then she turned to him with a smile as she gathered her braids in an elastic. “I like your coloring as is, babe. You should attempt to maintain this shade.”
“Yeah?” Les laughed. “I’ll consider that.”
They swam for a while, playfully tagging one another and laughing, enjoying each other’s company. After they dried off, Honey grabbed her things from the barman while Les ordered two beers. They sat closely on the shore, talking and watching others come and go. The more she talked, the more Les wanted her and after so many beers and hours, he couldn’t wait another moment and he decided to let her in on that.
“Honey, I’m going to just--”
“You don’t have to say it, babe,” Honey smiled. “I still feel an attraction but it’s cool you don’t anymore.”
“What?” Les frowned. “Who says I didn’t? Or don’t?”
“You are, with your body.”
“I think you’re reading me wrong, Honey.”
“I am?”
“You are if you think I don’t want you.”
Honey's pretty face frowned and, looking completely perplexed, she murmured, “Then why have we been sitting here for hours talking about beaches and sea life when we could have been in a room making each other scream and cum?”
Les shook his head at the memory when someone carelessly bumped into him. He looked around and saw his woman had taken a seat with a group of attractive women in the back of the bar. That’s when he noticed the sign over their heads telling everyone what was happening in the bar tonight.
Chapter TWO
Speed Dating
Les frowned as he looked around the entrance and saw a group of men practically drooling at the seated women, looking like they wanted to be in there with them more than they wanted oxygen.
“What the hell is speed dating?” Les mumbled, going to the side of the bar to call his brother. As usual, since it was after 7 p.m., Andy answered the phone sounding like he was interrupted in the middle of a run.
“Andy, come on, take a break.”
“I’m in spin class, Les. It is Thursday, you know.”
“You bet I know,” Les smirked. “That class is over at seven. You still fuck that instructor in the locker room afterwards?”
“Busted,” Andy laughed. “Sort of. Truth is, she’s fucking me tonight.”
“Hey!” The woman shouted. “Am I boring you? And why are you telling our business over a cell phone?”
“Relax, sweetheart,” Andy laughed. “My phone’s not bugged. You know, I think this has run its course. It’s time to move on. This is the last time we do this.”
“You’re ending things while you’re… while you’re still inside my pussy?”
“’Fraid so, Kara. It was fun though.”
“CAMILLE! My name is Camille! Fuck, why can’t you assholes ever remember my fucking name?! Fine, this is done! Can I at least get off before you leave?”
“Sure, but do it fast while I talk to my brother. What’s up, Les?”
Les shook his head as the woman moaned and he scowled at her grunting.
“You’re seriously not enjoying that one bit?”
“Nope. I actually feel like a bucket is fucking my dick. I can’t understand why she feels so loose and she’s an exercise instructor.”
“Maybe she feels loose because your dick’s small,” Les chuckled. “We can’t be identical in every way.”
“Fuck off, Les. Trust, that’s not the case. Nine and 1 ½, hard. That’s measured, not a guess.”
“Nine and she still feels loose?” Les smirks, shaking his head. “Well, I guess we are identical in every way.”
“Right, except at the moment. I’m here, bored and ready to leave and it sounds like you are at a party. Where and what’s it for?”
“At a bar. Andy, what exactly is speed dating?”
“Tell me you’re not, Les. Has it been that long? Are you growing desperate?”
“Now you fuck off and listen. I met with Ethan Harvey and I swear I saw her, Andy.”
“Her who?”
“Her,” Les says, emphatically. “Honey.”
Andy pauses, his face frowning into the phone. “Daytona’s Honey?”
“Yeah. She’s here and she’s participating in a speed dating thing. Is that what I think it is?”
“Do you think it’s where men and women sit across from one another and try to decide if they want to go on a real date after being in each other’s company for only five minutes?”
“Yeah, that’s exactly what I thought.”
“Then you think right, Les. Is she participating?”
“She is.”
“I guess the good news is she’s single. Sign up and talk to her.”
“What?” Les frowned. “No way.”
“Way, Les. It’s been nine years since you’ve seen her and you go back to Daytona damn near every summer looking for her. Now she’s right there, practically in your lap and you don’t want to talk to her? Bullshit. Sign up and talk to her.”
“Ten years,” Les murmured with a scowl.
“Ten years. Excuse me. Fuck, she’s close. She’s moving like Pamela from True Blood,” Andy grunted. “Ten years and there she is. Don’t let her slip away again. Watching you go through another ten years of regret will not be easy and I will kick your ass daily if she gets away again. Not to mention the shitty way you’ll feel at losing her again.”
He was right. Les sometimes stays a month in Daytona while looking for his Honey, and now here she was and what… he was going to just bail? No fucking way. He would, at the very least, get her real name tonight.
“You’re right, Andy,” Les murmured into the phone as he looked toward the hostess.
“I always am,” Andy chuckled then the woman he was with screamed. “She’s finally fucking done. I’ll shower and meet you. Where are you?”
“Dancy’s on Clark and Ridge.”
“Seriously? I’m at Cycle One on Ridge and Hall. I can be there in about twenty.”
Les laughed, hearing a shower already going.
“Fine,” Les murmured. “See you in twenty.”
Les ended the call and smiled at the hostess as he walked to the podium.
“I’m having a hard time believing you’re single, handsome,” the hostess winked
. “Let me see your left hand.”
Les smiled and held out his hand. “I am single, sweetheart. Never married.”
“Not even an indent. Hi, I’m Sharon. It’s a shame you’re single, handsome, because I just filled the last slot for the men.”
Damn. Thwarted.
“Can’t squeeze me in, huh?”
“Nope. Not unless one of the registered guys drops out.”
“Is that right?” Les murmured then looked around. Someone needs to drop out, huh? Let’s see, Les thought as he took a good, slow look at the men gathered around the entrance and smirked when he spotted the perfect candidate. He winked back at Sharon.
“I’m Charles Ford and you’ll see me again in about five minutes.”
“I’ll be here, handsome. Guaranteed.”
Les smiled and walked over to a guy dressed in jeans, boots and a shirt that was unbuttoned to his pecs. He knew exactly where to send him.
“Hey. Actor right?”
“Yeah,” the guy nodded.
“Struggling?”
Again the guy nods.
“I see you’re in make-up. Just come from a job?”
The guy frowned then smiled big. “Yeah, print ad. You a producer? Director?”
“No, I’m a lawyer and I need a slot tonight. Tell you what,” Les murmured then pulled out his business card and wrote something on the back of it. He then waved the card around in the guy’s face. “I know a woman that can do things for you. Tell her I sent you. All you have to do is give me your speed dating slot.”
The actor frowned again then Les reached into his pocket and pulled out cash, knowing it had to be four hundred dollars, at least. The guy’s eyes widened as he stared at the cash.
“Who’s the woman?”
“Melina Hinton,” Les replied slowly.
The actor’s head snatched up and Les could smell the eagerness coming off him.
“Melina Hinton? The agent?”
“That’s her,” Les nodded. “I represent her and occasionally send her a new face,” Les said, waving the card and cash in the actor’s face again. “All you have to do is drop out and let Sharon know.”
