“Liz,” he breathed, “God, you taste good.”

He slid one finger inside of me and then the other. I tightened around him, wanting nothing more than to have his cock instead of his fingers.

  “And so wet,” he drawled.

  “Oh fuck.”

“Was it the policy foreplay?” he teased.

  I practically growled at him.

He laughed softly. “Do you think you could tell me all about your proposal right now, Mrs. Maxwell?”

“I probably could, Mr. President. Where would you like me to begin?”

“Oh, start at the beginning,” he said as he moved his fingers in and out of me.

“Oh, just shut up and fuck me.”

He didn’t need to be told twice. The rumble of approval from my vulgarity was answer enough. He stood swiftly, shucking off his suit coat and draping it lazily against the back of his chair. I dropped to my feet before him, naked from the waist down, and removed my top as well. A chill swept through his office, making my nipples erect. Brady noticed because he paused in the removal of his shirt and stepped forward, pressing his body against mine.

His hand came to one breast, massaging the peak. His head dipped to take the nipple in his mouth. My head lolled backward as he sucked it into his mouth and then teased it with his teeth.

I reached for his suit pants. It was only half-fair that I was already naked and he was still in his pants. I jerked on the belt, yanked it free, and then undid his pants as well.

“In a hurry?” he said with a careful smirk.

I was suddenly in a hurry. I’d come here for policy reasons and to make my husband go to sleep. I should have known that he wouldn’t be satisfied with either of those reasons. We’d never been able to keep our hands off of each other, and I hoped we never would.

  “Want you.”

My hand dipped into his black boxer briefs, and I found his erect cock waiting for me. He groaned, returning his lips to mine and kissing me fiercely as I drew my hand up and down the length of him.

  “More,” I told him.

I drew down his pants and boxers and then pushed him back down in his seat. Then, I settled on my knees between his legs.

He arched an eyebrow. “Well, this has never been done before in the Oval Office.”

  “You’re filthy.”

  “I’m yours.”

So, I took him like he was mine. I licked the tip before dropped my mouth down all the way around his cock. I ignored my gag reflex and went even deeper. Then, I added my hand, centering my focus on the tip again.

He buried his hands into my hair. He didn’t exactly guide me up and down on him, but he couldn’t help himself. He was a man in charge. He was used to being the person everyone looked to for answers. And even in the bedroom, he always demanded that. Even the times I was on top, he was in command. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

He grew somehow impossibly bigger in my mouth. He was getting close. I could probably get him off with a few more strokes, but he stopped me.

“Need to get inside of you,” he said.

I released him, still on my knees, looking up at my husband with need. “Yes,” I gasped.

He brushed his thumb across my wet lips and then placed a kiss on them. I thought he might just pull me into his lap and let me sink down onto him, but he had other plans. Better plans.

He flipped me around, pushing me facedown onto his desk with my ass in the air. My breasts spread out all over state secrets. He toed my legs further apart and then drew a hand down my spine.

I shivered all over at the contact, the anticipation.

Twelve years ago, we’d fought over dominance. But we’d known each other for so long, knew the way our bodies moved and felt. I knew that he was as likely to throw me over his shoulder and toss me in bed as he was to let me ride him like a cowgirl.

And I knew that this between us was so much more than sex.

I knew it as he eased my tension with that one touch. And the way he smacked my ass because he liked to watch it bounce—bigger after two kids but he never cared. And as he leaned forward to press a kiss to my shoulder, I knew that he was the love of my life.

A hard man to live with. As dedicated to the public and our country as he was to me and our family. Some days, the country won. Some days, we did. There were never enough hours in the day. Never enough time together. I would steal every minute I could with him. Steal every last kiss and fuck and ass smack. I’d do it all because I knew we were doing the right thing. We were living these hard years together, where he was on top of the world, so that we all had a better life, going forward. And I did it with my entire heart.

I was just damn sure going to leave it better than when I had gotten here.

  The country and our marriage.

His cock brushed against my opening, and I dug my fingers into the desk. Then, he thrust forward, taking me wholly in one movement. I gasped as he filled me up. All these years and two children later, and he was still so fucking big.

  “Fuck,” I breathed.

He grabbed my ass, squeezing the cheeks apart, and then slapped one cheek.

  “Oh God.”

Then he moved to grip my hips for leverage as he withdrew ever so slowly from me. I slammed my eyes closed, preparing for him and the thrust back. Which was as brutal and rough as I’d imagined it would be. My whole body jerked forward against the desk. I was probably going to be bruised on my thighs, and I had no complaints.

Brady moved in and out of me at a comfortable rhythm,. I could already feel my orgasm hanging so close to the edge. He’d kept me on the edge when he went down on me, and I’d gotten even hotter as I blew him. Now, with him inside of me, driving into me with so much force, I was set to release any second.

“Please, please, please, please,” I begged incoherently.

“I do love when you beg.”

He tensed at the same time I did. And then I unleashed, coming all over him and crying out louder than I should have. Brady roared, finishing with a hand on my back as he emptied himself inside me, collapsing forward.

  “Fuck, Liz.”

“I think you needed to be done for the night.”

He kissed my shoulder. “I think you’re right.”

  “Always am.”

  V: Christmas Presents

I groaned as he withdrew, and we both took our turns cleaning up in the Oval Office bathroom. When I returned to his desk, he was back in his suit, as if nothing had happened.

I pouted as I reached for my pajama bottoms. “I like seeing you naked.”

“We have a bedroom for that.”

“You weren’t saying that a few minutes ago.”

He pressed his lips to mine. “Hard to think when you’re with me.”

I laughed. “Not anymore. You’re busy too often.”

“Am I shirking my husbandly duties?” he asked with an arched eyebrow.

“I wouldn’t mind you performing them in here more often.”

He shook his head and tugged me close again. “How did I get so lucky?”

“I don’t know. Lots of groveling.”

“I’ve never groveled in my life.”

“You answered the right question that day,” I told him.

  “I sure did.”

I turned away from him and pulled up the proposal on the iPad. “Here. Tell me what you think.”

He skimmed it as he trailed kisses down my neck. He pushed the iPad up so he could keep reading. And then when he got to the end, he looked up. “You really came here about a proposal.”

“Of course. Did you think I just wanted sex?”

  “Didn’t you?”

“Bonus.” I set my jaw and waited. “Well, what do you think?”

“I think…it’s brilliant. It’s going to be a bitch to get through Congress.” He met my gaze levelly. “But we’ll do it together.”

  “With my name attached?”

  “Better be.”

  I smiled widely and
threw my arms around his neck. “This is the best Christmas present I could have asked for.”

“Something is wrong if the gift you want most is education policy.”

  “Is it?”

“No, it’s absolutely the reason I fell in love with you.”

  I beamed.

“But…would Christmas really be here without a real present?” He produced a small blue box Tiffany’s box out of his desk.

  “You didn’t,” I said.

  “Of course I did.”

I took the box from his hand and removed the white bow. I popped open the box and found a large ruby pendant encrusted with diamonds.

“Oh my God,” I breathed as I pulled the long chain out of the box. “It’s stunning.”

“It’s an antique Carolina ruby,” he said as he slipped the necklace around my neck and let the ruby hang low between my breasts. “Now, you’ll have a piece of home with you at all times.”

“Brady,” I whispered, moved by the gesture. I touched the stone. “It’s perfect.”

  “Merry Christmas, Liz.”

  “Merry Christmas!”

I threw my arms around my husband, the president and most powerful man in America, content that we would survive these next few years in the White House. Not because of the ruby at my throat, but because I already had a piece of home with me at all times—my husband and two beautiful children. Together, we could do anything.

  Chapter 1

  “Jack”

  * * *

I carefully lifted the lowball glass to my lips, letting the smoky aroma of the whiskey settle onto my tongue as I finished my sip. As I set the glass down, I looked around at the high-end bar, noting the people surrounding me. Nobody should recognize me here, not when they were all focused on their own lives. Their own desires. Tonight wasn’t about who they were or what they wanted from me.

No, tonight was about pleasure and an evening that I hoped the person I was set to meet would never forget.

I took another sip and nodded at the bartender. The man nodded back and handed over my check.

  “Just one for you, sir?”

I gave him a small smile, shaking my head and put down cash. No names, not for now.

“I’ll be meeting someone soon, and I wanted to make sure I settled the bill.”

The bartender frowned, tilting his head as he studied my face. “We could have added it to your bill at your table. You didn’t need to worry yourself.”

I just shook my head. “No, I don’t mind. Now, by any chance, have you seen a woman with a white rose in her hair?”

The bartender’s gaze widened for a second, and then he smiled as if he were in the middle of the game with me. With us. “No, but I’ll keep on the lookout. A blind date?”

My lips twitched into a small smile again, and I took another sip of my whiskey. “You could say that.”

“Okay,” he said, looking as if he were more intrigued than ever. “That sounds like a story. And I do believe your date has arrived,” he said, his eyes widening marginally as he looked over my shoulder.

I turned, my glass in my hands, and stared at the woman with dark hair and light eyes. She had on a black wrap dress that clung to her curves and made me want to pull delicately on the strings at the side. I wanted to see what would happen when the dress fell off her shoulders and pooled down at her feet.

There were many things I wanted to see happened tonight, and if I were lucky, I would be trying every single one of them. In vivid and intricate detail.

I downed the rest of my drink, not taking my eyes off of the white rose in her hair, and set the glass next to me on the polished wood of the bar.

  “Thank you, Trevor.”

Trevor, the bartender, cleared his throat. “You’re welcome. Do you know where your table is, sir?”

“No, but I can ask the hostess. She said my table would be ready whenever my date arrived.”

“If you’re sure. Enjoy your evening, sir.”

“I’m counting on it,” I said, not bothering to look back at Trevor. No, my eyes were for the woman in front of me.

  Jane.

At least that was the name that she had signed her texts with.

I could use Jane as her name for the evening. A perfectly normal name, for a perfectly pleasant woman, at least according to her texts.

But there was nothing normal or nearly pleasant about the goddess in front of me.

And I couldn’t wait to get to know this Jane.

I prowled toward Jane, and her gaze went to the rose in the pocket of my jacket. Her eyes darkened for a minute, and then she met my eyes, a smile playing on her face. I stood in front of her, then inhaled the hint of her floral scent. Nothing overpowering, just a tease as to who this woman could be.

“Jack?” she asked, her eyes dancing.

“Of course, I love the rose,” I said, and I reached out and slid my fingers delicately through the end of her hair, careful not to jostle the rose, but needing to touch her.

  This Jane, this stranger.

She cleared her throat, danced from foot to foot on her tall heels. “Well, should we see the hostess about our table?” Jane asked, her voice a little breathy.

I licked at my lips and nodded. “They told me it would be ready as soon as you arrived. We won’t have to wait.”

“Oh, that’s good. I mean, not that I mind waiting, but it would be nice to sit down. I’m not that great in heels,” she said, laughing a bit before looking down at her feet. She wore sky high fuck-me heels and seeing that made my cock ache. I swallowed hard, willing myself to slow down.

  I needed to slow down.

“They do wonders for your legs. But don’t worry, I do not want you in pain.”

I turned as the hostess came to us, a smile on her face. “Mr. Smith?” she asked, and I nodded, a smile playing on my lips.

“My date is here, as you can see, we’re ready when you are.”

“And we’re ready here, your table is near the waterfall as you asked. Follow me, and I’ll lead you to your table. Your waitress will be Corinne, and she will go over the specials with you as well as the wine list. We do have two new wines tonight that our chef and sommelier are really excited about.” Our hostess continued to talk as she led us to the table, and I looked down at Jane, unable to keep my eyes from her. She was beautiful and looked like she smiled often, and yet had a side to her that maybe others didn’t see.

I couldn’t wait to get to know this woman
tonight and see where we ended up.

“Here you are, have a lovely evening,” she said, as I moved to one side of the table and held out Jane’s chair. “Here you go,” I said, and she gave me a small look, shook her head as a smile played on her face, and sat down.

“What was that for?” I asked, keeping a smile down for myself.

“You’re acting like such a gentleman.”

“And you don’t think I can be a gentleman?” I asked, raising a single brow.

“I’m sure sometimes you could play at one, but I’m already enjoying tonight. Thank you for making me feel like a princess.”

“I was thinking goddess earlier. And my acting the gentleman is what tonight is supposed to be about. Having fun, no names, just us, an evening for whatever we want.”

Jane smiled and leaned back ever so slightly. The action caused her breasts to rise as she took a deep breath, and I did my best not to focus on that.

“I’m glad that my friends were able to help me get out tonight. It’s been far too long since I’ve been out to dinner with a handsome man.”

“I do believe that was my line, although I was going to say something about your beauty.”

“You don’t need to butter me up,” she said, laughing, and I shook my head, laughing right along with her.

“You are beautiful, but sometimes I’m not great with words.”

She tilted her head at me, stared. “Do you think that?”

“Sometimes. It depends on if the words are important or not.”

“That’s a good answer,” she whispered, and the waitress came to speak about specials and wines.

“The sea bass sounds wonderful, honestly,” Jane said as the waitress finished, waiting for our drink order. “I know this is just for drinks, but my mouth is practically watering at the sound of the Chilean sea bass.”

“It does sound delicious, although the filet that she spoke of, the one that is smoke rubbed? That also sounds divine.”
