by Rebecca Barber

To the dream team – Margaret, Marnie, Lizzie, Robin and Jodi. This book is as much yours as it is mine. Together we got there in the end. Thank you for supporting, loving Holly (and me) and keeping me going even on those dark days. Without you, there’d still be a half written first draft.

Robert – here it is. Book number ten. You understand me in a way no one else ever has or even can. You knew why this one was so important to me and helped me realise that, just like Holly, my story isn’t over yet. Thank you for always being on my team and dealing with the tears and fears as I fight my way through the dark clouds. You’re my rock and my best friend.

Mostly though, this one is for my Dad.

Growing up I watched you bring home the strays and I never really understood. Now that I’m older (not old, but older) I get it. You brought home those kids who’d been bullied and downtrodden and mistreated and gave them a safe place to regain their inner strength and learn to believe in themselves again. I’m so grateful you did that. Because of you, I saw firsthand the change you brought to their lives. You’re an amazing man and an even better father. No matter how much you yourself have been bullied and had to fight, you always strove to make a difference… and you did.

And for anyone who’s been bullied or were the bully, there’s still time. Stand up. Make your voice heard. Tell someone. Tell anyone.

  Bullying is never okay.

Remember - Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.

  Love

  Rebecca

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I’m just me. A clumsy, introverted, bubble bath loving, chocoholic who would rather read a book than go shopping. And god forbid if you try and make me shoe shop!

I’m one of four kids to school teacher parents. A wife to a football obsessed husband. Mother to a fur-baby who isn’t aware of how big he is. Aunt to the most crazy/adorable little girls. And sister to two very determined sisters and one easy going brother.

I live in Canberra Australia and work too many hours a day at my day job.

I’m a book whore who can easily (and happily) read a book from start to finish in a day and when I do have spare time, you’ll find me in the writing cave.
