Stay For Me Page 16

by Megan Smith

I asked Jaylinn to pick me up. It’s stupid I know, Eli even laughed at me but I don’t want to give Cooper any reasons to think Eli and I are together. I climb into Jaylinn’s car and I’m nothing but nerves. “This is so stupid.” I tell her.

  “Care to elaborate?”

“I’m having sex with Eli.” I blurt out before I lose my nerve.

  “Thank God!” Jaylinn cheers.

  “Wait, what?”

“You think I don’t already know? I can probably tell you it’s been going on for a few months too.” She glances over to me and I’m dumbfounded. “It’s the way you guys are with each other, the touching here and there, the secret smiles, and the teasing.” She laughs. “I was beginning to worry about you two if you hadn’t had sex yet.”

“I feel so much better now.” I sigh.

“I don’t know why you just didn’t tell me sooner. I mean, it’s none of my business and all that, but still.”

And now I feel like a shitty friend for not telling her. “I know I just feel bad for putting you in a shitty situation. Cooper doesn’t want us together, he’s made that clear.”

Jaylinn pulls up to a traffic light. “You’re gonna let him stop you?”

“No, of course not,” Jaylinn arches an eyebrow at me. “Okay, maybe I am.”

“Look, let me handle Cooper, okay? I haven’t said anything because I hate when he’s on the road, he worries about this type of shit. He’s afraid that if you guys can’t work things out that it’s going to be all weird for us. He’s being stupid. Plus, I was waiting for you to grow a pair of balls.” She laughs.

  I balk.

  “I’ll tell him.”

  “No, I can do it.”

Jaylinn laughs. “You could or I can do it while we’re in the middle of having sex and can get him to agree and do just about anything for me.”

I giggle. “Alright, alright, you can talk to him about it.”

We swing by and pick up Jaylinn’s mom, Sadie, before heading over to the Cahill’s. When we pull up to the house there are cars everywhere. I guess everyone is there already.

Jaylinn, Sadie, and I walk into the house, discard our jackets and go into the kitchen. Elle, Cooper’s mom, smacks Cooper’s hand away from what looks like a bowl of potato salad.

  “Doesn’t Jaylinn ever feed you?”

“He never stops eating, like ever.” Jaylinn answers, walking into the kitchen.

“Merry Christmas, Jay, Sadie,” Elle kisses Jaylinn and then Sadie on the cheek. “Merry Christmas, Layla.”

“Merry Christmas, thank you for having me.”

Elle waves her hand dismissively. “The more the merrier.”

“Well, that’s good because you just got another visitor.” Eli calls from the doorway as Sadie excuses herself to go see her grandchildren in the other room but not before wishing Eli a Merry Christmas.

  “Merry Christmas, Eli.” Elle sings.

  “Merry Christmas, Mrs. Cahill.”

Cooper stands there with his hands on his hips shaking his head. “Why the hell didn’t you two just drive together?”

Eli and I both look away from each other but I catch Jaylinn glaring at Cooper. He sighs and nods his head in the direction of the dining room, Eli follows him.

Jaylinn and I stride into the dining room holding drinks for the boys and ourselves. “Thanks, babe.” Cooper says to Jaylinn.

“Welcome.” Jaylinn says as she makes herself comfortable on his lap.

I walk down to the other end of the table away from Eli. The look on his face kills me but it’s Christmas and I don’t want to start a fight with anyone.

“Oh hey, Layla, Merry Christmas.” MacKenzie greets me with a messy faced Olivia in her arms. Her daughter is absolutely stunning with her bright blue eyes and curly brown hair.

“Merry Christmas.” I grab Olivia’s little hand. “Merry Christmas, Ms. Liv.” The little girl blows bubbles at me.

MacKenzie looks around the room, Jaylinn is sitting on Cooper’s lap, Eli is sitting next to them and I’m sitting all the way on the other side of the table. “This is awkward.”

Jaylinn sighs, Eli huffs, and Cooper laughs. It really is awkward.

Elle breezes in. “Let’s have the kids open presents then we’ll have dinner.”

We all pile into the living room and watch all the kids open up their presents. It’s like a tornado touched down in the living room by the time everyone is done. Andrew, Cooper’s dad, is in the corner picking up all the wrapping paper that Hunter is tossing at him trying to keep the room as clean as possible.

When presents are done, a line forms in the kitchen as we all pile ham, potato salad, green beans, deviled eggs and all the other stuff on our plates and make our way into the dining room. I’ve taken notice that Sadie is being really quiet which isn’t like her, normally she’s talking my ear off but not today.

Cooper wipes his face with his napkin. “Just think, this time next week you’ll be a married man.” He says to Mason.

Eli reaches for my hand under the table. I glance up looking to see if anyone has noticed but no one has. I secretly love that he pushes the boundaries with me.

Mason nods shoving an egg in his mouth. “Never thought I’d see the day.”

“All your cleat chasers are gonna sob.” Jaylinn teases causing everyone at the table to laugh.

After dinner everyone hangs out in the living room letting their food digest. Past Christmas stories are being shared, new memories are being made, it really is a perfect Christmas. Mason and Hailey’s twins get really cranky, so they’re the first to leave. Hunter and MacKenzie are next with their two. Sadie asks Hunter to give her a ride home claiming she’s got a terrible headache. Following everyone’s queue, I ask Jaylinn to take me home. Eli cuts me a look after I ask her. I told him we’d go home together but I didn’t want to look suspicious just leaving with him since I didn’t show up with him.

Cooper pulls Jaylinn down on his lap and whispers in her ear.

Eli gives me a pointed look, daring me to object. “I’ll take her home.”

“Thanks, man.” Cooper hauls Jaylinn to her feet and whisks her away.

The four of us say our goodbyes to Jackson, Chloe, Alex, Andrew, and Elle.

“I’ll see you tomorrow at work?” Eli asks after shutting the front door.

Cooper nods. “Yup, I’ll be there.”

“I’ll be there, too.” Jaylinn adds. “Thanks for coming, guys.”

  “Thanks for inviting us.”

Eli places a hand on my lower back and walks me down the driveway to his car. “That was the longest dinner of my life.” Eli complains opening the door for me.

  “Amen.”

“Now let’s get home and see if we can finish this Christmas off right.” Eli says smacking my ass.

  Eli

The cat was let out of the bag during Mason and Hailey’s wedding last night. Layla was a little hesitant about going because it would have been her first New Year’s without Fallon. After a little persuasion from me and her sister, Layla agreed to go. We were dancing seductively during one of the songs. I couldn’t bring myself to care anymore about who knew about us and who didn’t. No one could say or do anything to change my mind.

“Don’t worry about him.” I whispered in Layla’s ear.

“He’s going to find out sooner or later. This kind of stuff happens at weddings all the time, right?” She rambled on trying to convince herself not to care.

“All the,” I spun her and grinded my dick against her ass. “fucking time, baby.”

Hailey, of course it was her, hooted and hollered watching us dance. “Fuck it,” Layla said turning in my arms and giving me a scorching kiss in front of everyone. Finally she gave in.

When the song was over a slow one started. Cooper and Jaylinn, both holding back smiles, made their way over to us. “I told you so.” Cooper said with a smirk I’d like to knock of his face.

  “Huh?” Layla asked.

&nb
sp; “This guy,” Cooper nodded his head towards me. “A long time ago when we were back in college and Eli was whoring around, he said that he’d never fall hard for a girl to the point where nothing else in the world mattered.”

I nodded. “I didn’t just fall, I fucking fell face first.” And I knew right then and there that I was going to go out and buy an engagement ring for Layla.

“This bed is so damn comfortable I want to take it home.” A pillow smacks me in the face.

“Get your ass up and feed me.” Layla laughs.

“I’m going to feed you alright.” I say, reaching over and tickling her.

She laughs until she starts to snort. “Okay, okay.”

I flip the covers off me, stand and walk towards the bathroom. I’m still naked and for once I don’t have to worry about putting clothes on so Fallon doesn’t walk in on me.

Layla clears her throat; I turn to look at her with a smirk on my face. She can’t help but look at me. “See something you like?” I ask taunting her.

“Nope.” She says popping the p.

I push open the bathroom door and yell back to her. “You weren’t saying that last night.”

Layla starts laughing. “What do you want for breakfast? I’m starving.”

I reach into the shower and turn the water on. “Whatever, you pick.”

  “Alright.”

Once the water turns warm I jump in. I wash my hair and start to rinse it out as the shower door opens. Another set of hands help me rinse out the soap.

“Hmmm.” I moan as Layla uses her nails to massage my scalp.

  “You like that?”

I nod. Once the soap is rinsed off I switch places with Layla and do the same for her. Then we take turns washing each other’s bodies. We get out of the shower just as someone knocks on the door.

“Damn, that’s the fastest room service ever.” Layla says wrapping a towel around her body.

“I’ll get the door. Ain’t nobody seeing you dressed like that.” The mirror in front of me shows Layla’s barely covered ass. Yeah, no one is seeing that.

Room service wheels the cart just in the door and I sign the slip. “Thanks, man.”

  “You’re welcome.”

I push the cart into the room and pull the lids off the plates. Eggs, home fries, toast, French toast, bacon and orange juice are what Layla ordered. I steal a piece of bacon before throwing some clothes on.

“Damn that smells good.” Layla says walking out of the bathroom with her hair wrapped in a towel on top of her head.

She grabs a plate and sits on the bed. “So what are we doing today?”

I button my jeans and start to feed the belt through the loops. “Figured we could hit up the outlets and do a little gambling.”

Layla looks away. “I’m saving for a car, Eli. I can’t exactly go spending all kinds of money.”

I offered to help her with a car; she wanted no part of that. Her words were something like, ‘When I need your help, I’ll ask.’ I never mentioned it again.

“How about this? Take a hundred dollars, we’ll go downstairs and play three card poker. If you lose I’ll pay you back.”

  She starts to protest.

  “Do it for me, Layla.”

  She sighs. “Fine.”

I walk over and kiss the top of her head. “I love you.”

“I love you, too,” she grumbles.

We spend the rest of the day, gambling, laughing, shopping and having a great day. Around dinner time Layla asks if we can go home. We walk out to the parking garage hand in hand.

“Thank you.” Layla says squeezing my hand.

  “For what?”

  “Everything.”

I pull her hand causing her body to fall into mine and kiss her. “You’re welcome.”

It was a damn good day to get out and spend some time together just her and I.

Tonight has been insanely busy. Since opening the doors at eight tonight we had a constant stream of people coming in. Cooper and I were both banking for a little boost in business since it’s Valentine’s Day weekend.

“Hey, baby,” Layla says sitting on the corner of my desk.

Leaning back in my chair I put my arms behind my head. “Hey.”

“I just locked up. I’m outta here, guys.” Cooper says from the doorway. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

  “Bye, Cooper.”

  “Later, man.”

“I’m so glad he’s okay with us being together.” Layla sighs in relief. “Now I feel silly for worrying about it for so long.”

“I promised you he would be cool and you had nothing to worry about.”

She smiles seductively. “I remember you promising me something else, too.”

I bite on my bottom lip. I did promise her something and I plan on keeping it. I roll my chair over and position myself between her legs. “I did make you a promise, didn’t I?” I say running the tips of my fingers up her bare legs.

Layla’s head falls back and she moans.

“I’ve got payroll to finish.” I say between placing kisses up her legs. “So this is going to be quick and then I’ve got to get this done so everyone can get paid on Tuesday.”

“Quick?” Layla asks with a shaky voice as she lifts herself off my desk as I remove her panties. “I don’t like quick.”

“Oh,” I pull them from her ankles, open my drawer and drop them in. “I know.” I grip her ankles and yank her to the end of my desk. “This is just the warm up until I can get home.”

“Damn.” Her desire smacks me in the face.

I slide a finger up and down her pussy coating my finger with her wetness. I slide a finger into her then hook it and hit that sweet spot.

  “Oh, Eli.” Layla moans.

I do it until she’s about to come then yank my finger away.

  “What the fuck?” Layla pouts.

I loosen my tie enough to pull it over my head. I take my time unbuttoning my shirt. I only get about half way done when Layla grabs both sides of it and rips it open causing the buttons to pop off.

  “Whoops.” She licks her lips.

I reach up and cup either side of her face and pepper her face full of kisses. My hands roam down to the collar of her button up. I give a little yank and she yelps as the shirt tears in two. “Whoops.” I flick the clasp of her bra and she tosses it behind her.

After my pants are pushed down I shove the papers off my desk along with the phone, pens and everything else. I gently lay Layla back on my desk and bring her ass to the end to slide her skirt off.

I grab my dick and guide myself into her. My eyes squeeze shut as the heat and tightness wrap around me. Reaching forward I grab both of Layla’s tits in my hands squeezing gently. Her back arches off the desk and I begin to move in and out.

Layla is erotically moaning my name. The desk is scraping against the floor as I pound into her relentlessly. A deep feeling of peace enters me. “I love you.” I grunt out.

“Oh baby,” Layla groans shifting around for another angle. “I love you, too.”

I pull out, flip her over and enter her from behind. She loves it this way and so do I. In this position I can go deeper. Leaning forward, over Layla’s body I grip the other end of the desk. I thrust hard, so hard, she stops breathing and her body goes rigid.

“Fuck yes.” She moans loudly as I pull almost all the way out.

I nip her shoulder. “You like that?”

  “Yes, God, yes.”

I do it over again just as slow and hard as the first time. If I keep doing this I’m only going to last another few minutes. Layla’s body, being in tune with mine, starts to tremble. “I’m going to come.” She pants.

I pick up the speed chasing her orgasm along with mine.

“Fuck.” Layla pushes back against me. “Harder, harder.”

A long, drawn out moan escapes her as she gives in to her pleasure. The pulses of her orgasm push me over and I come inside her, the pleasure is pure and explosive. I lean again
st her back trying to catch my breath before pulling out.

Layla lays there for a minute longer and then starts laughing.

“Laughing after sex isn’t always a good sign.”

Layla turns over and sits up on my desk. “Laughing during sex at all means you’re doing it right.” She winks.

“Well, then laugh all you want.” I smile.

She crooks a finger at me and kisses me on the lips. “Sing to me.” Layla asks with sleepy eyes. “Please.”

I pull my pants up before walking over and picking up the acoustic guitar that is sitting in the corner of our office. I take a seat back in my chair and strum the guitar. Layla gets up on my desk, lays back, still completely naked, and watches as my fingers move.

I sing one of Layla’s favorite songs, Ron Pope’s Last First Kiss. She watches my every move and there is so much love and meaning behind this song for us. Her eyes close as she listens to the words of the song, her knee rocks back and forth to the song. I strum the last cord, “Someone I can’t live without.” Those words make me think of the ring that’s sitting in the back of the drawer right under where she’s laying.

Layla smiles at me with watery eyes. “I’ll never get tired of hearing that song.”

“And I’ll never get tired of playing it for you.” I smile to myself. It’s time. I reach into the drawer and search around until I find the little box that I’m looking for.

Layla sits up and yawns. “I’m so sleepy.”

My hand lands on it. I pull it out, Layla’s eyes follow my hand and her breath hitches. A hand goes up to her mouth as I open the lid of the box.

I get down on one knee and hold the box out for her to see the ring I’ve picked out. “We’ve always done stuff the slow and cautious way.” I smile. “But this is one thing I don’t want to wait for.” The tears slip from Layla’s eyes. “Will you marry me?”

Her hand falls away from her face as she looks to me. A beautiful smile lights up her face. “Yes, yes yes.” I place the ring on her finger and then she leaps from the desk and wraps her arms around me.
