Lessons From the Professor Page 6

by Shyla Colt

There had been a spark of emotion behind Sidney’s words that made her want to question him about his past. She’d refrained, because the time hadn’t been right, but soon her Professor would have to relinquish some of his mystique and open up. He was an intriguing man. To curb her anxiety she stood from the stool and moved around the house checking last minute details. The rooms were tidy; the wine was chilled; and the lasagna was in the oven, on its way to being a nice golden brown. She had a loaf of garlic bread ready to slice and toast and a salad tossed and resting in the fridge.

The doorbell rang, and she smoothed down her coral pink sheath before she went to answer the door.

“Hi,” she said. Her stomach exploded with butterflies. She still felt like they were going on their first date.

“Hello, love, how was your day?”

“Wonderful, because for once I wasn’t at work.”

Sidney stepped inside, pulled her into his arms and devoured her mouth. Her body became boneless as her legs grew weak, and he supported her weight. Their tongues dueled, and she whimpered as his hand crept up her skirt. His fingers stroked the outside of her folds, before he parted her lips to access the honeypot that overflowed with her excitement.

“Good, you obeyed my rules. Did you touch my pussy over the past few days?”

  “No, Professor.”

“Oh, you are such a good little sub.” Her body bucked as he slipped a slim finger inside her and punctuated each word with swirl.

“Tell me what you need, Sutton.”

“I….” She trailed off with a shake of her head. What did he want her to say?

“Tell your Dom what he can do to make you feel better.”

  “Touch me.”

“Touch you where, love? You have to be more specific.”

  “My pussy.”

“You want me to play with your twat until you come don’t you, pet? You’re a filthy little girl.”

  “Y-yes, Sir.

“Because you’ve been so good, I’m going to do something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. Lean back against the door, and lift your dress up to your waist.”

A thrill of excitement went through her as she complied. The cool feel of the wood beneath her was a stark contrast to the inferno that had engulfed her body. She licked her lips, whimpering at the sight of her lover on his knees in front of her. A moan left her lips as he ran a finger between her lips and brought it to his mouth.

“You taste just as sweet as I knew you would.” Her head thudded against the wall when he buried his head between her legs. His tongue laved her slit before it dipped inside and stiffened.

“Oh, God.” She buried her fingers in the black silk of his hair. Her hips thrust against his mouth as she sought a deeper penetration.

“No!” she cried, desperate to reach her peak when he pulled away.

“Shh, love, I’m only readjusting you.” He lifted her right leg over his shoulder, and she screamed when he attacked her once more. The new angle had her toes curling and her voice hoarse as she called out for Jesus. Sutton’s body quaked as she flew over the edge. Her vision went white as she lost touch with reality. When she came back to herself he placed a gentle kiss on her mound, pulled back and straightened her skirt.

“You told me you were ready to move forward with our training the other night. Are you ready to learn how to please me?”

Her heart skipped a beat as she nodded. Excitement filled her body as she waited patiently for his next direction. She’d wanted to touch him and give back the pleasure he’d given her for weeks, but he always declined.

“Then get on your knees, and prepare for a pre-dinner snack.”

She knelt down on the plush beige carpet and licked her lips when he unbuttoned his pants. The turgid shaft he revealed was more than she’d ever imagined. He was thick and long, with a prominent vein she wanted to explore with her tongue. Sutton balled her hands into fists to keep from reaching out to grasp him. It seemed like she’d been waiting forever for their roles to reverse. His lids lowered as he stroked his dick with slow, even motions that made her moan.

“Are you eager to have my cock in your mouth?”

  “Yes, Professor.”

He smirked as he brought the tip over to her mouth and lined her lips with his pre-cum. Unable to remain unresponsive she licked the salty fluid off and swallowed.

“Do you like the way I taste, pet?”

  “Yes, Professor.”

  “Open your mouth.”

She obliged, and he thrust inside her mouth and paused.

“Show me how long you’ve wanted this, pet.”

His words were like the crack of a gun before a race. Her hand shot up to wrap around his thickness, and she licked the slit, purring when he began to drip pre-cum. She spat on him and glanced up, pleased to see his eyes ablaze with passion.

  “You are absolutely filthy. “

Sutton nodded her agreement before she sucked him inside her mouth and stroked along his length, sucking and licking for all she was worth. She loved oral sex. His flavor was rich and male as it flooded her senses, and he continued to harden in her mouth. Desperate to please him she took him deep, gagging as his girth hit the back of her throat, and he cried out. His fingers gripped her hair, and she mentally cheered at her victory. Right now she was the one in control. She wanted to watch her Professor come apart and lose his cool as he sprayed the back of her throat with his cum. Her cheeks hollowed as she added suction and headed the frantic rhythm he demanded with his thrusts.

Her thighs were slick with her arousal when he cried out her name and came in long, hot spurts she gulped down. Sutton pulled back and cleaned every inch of him when she pulled back to study him as she sat on her heels.

“That was exquisite.” His voice was hoarse, and he looked like a man well-loved as he leaned back against the door.

“I always said I was a virgin, not a prude … Professor.” She gave a wink as she tucked him back into his boxers, re-zipped his pants and stood.

Dinner turned out better than she expected. Conversation flowed easily between them, and she found herself reassured that she was exactly where she was supposed to be. They were settled on the couch with glasses of wine when she heard the key turn in the lock. Great! Sidney raised an eyebrow, and she sighed.

“I guess Carissa decided to change her overnight plans. You said you wanted to meet some of my family. It looks like you’re about to get your wish granted.”

She wrung her hands together, nervous about what her sister would say.

“Are you ashamed to be seen with me?” he asked. His body tense as he studied her.

  “No, it’s nothing like that—”

“Sutton, I saw another car in the drive way,” Carissa said. She entered the living room and froze.

  “Who’s this?”

“This is my … boyfriend Sidney.”

“Hello,” Sidney said. He stood and offered his hand as she walked over and shook. Her eyes narrowed as she gave him a careful once over.

“I’m Carissa. I can’t say I’ve heard much about you.”

“Carissa!” Sutton felt her face heat as she fought the urge to cover her eyes with her hands. She knew this would be a disaster, and it would only be matter of days before the rest of the family blew up her phone.

“Well, we are both private people.”

Sutton tried to read Sidney’s face, but it was a blank canvas. Her stomach knotted as her stomach twisted itself into knots. A few hours ago she’s been sure they were well on their way to happy coupledom. Now, she could only watch helplessly as they crashed and burned.

“Hmm. It’s nice to meet you. How do you know Sutton?”

“Leigh’s husband is my best friend.”

“Oh, are you in the health care business as well?”

  “No, I’m actually a professor.”

  “What do you teach?”

  “Human Behavior Studies.”

“That must be a very interesting fi
eld.”

“I think so,” he said, a smile on his lips as silence fell over the room.

“I didn’t mean to interrupt your night, so I’ll just head to my room now. It was good to meet you, Sidney. Good night, Sutton.”

Carissa fixed her with a glare that spoke volumes. She had plenty to say about her new beau.

“Well, that killed the mood,” Sutton said. A heavy sigh left her lips as Sidney frowned.

“If you aren’t ashamed to be seen with me, I’m not sure why you were so rattled.”

“Sidney, I told you I’m not ashamed of you! I just don’t look forward to the third degree my family is going to give me.”

“Because I’m eighteen years older than you?”

“No, because they’re nosey as all get out, and think they know what’s best for everyone.”

  “And what will you say?”

  “What do you mean?”

“What will you tell them about us?”

“That I’ve met a nice intelligent man who works as a professor for a local university. We get along swimmingly, I enjoy spending time with him, and I look forward to seeing where things will go from here.”

“Maybe we need to take some time and think about what we both want.”

“Sidney, why are you acting like this?”

  “Like what, Sutton?”

  “So cold and stand-offish.”

“I’m too old to play games. I want a woman who’s proud to be on my arm, and has no problem facing a bit of adversity to be with me. Our age difference will always make people talk, and our other activities have the potential to cause even more speculation if they were to ever be discovered. I need to know you’re prepared to deal with that before we go any further with this relationship. I had a wonderful time tonight, but I think its best that I be on my way now.”

She felt like she’d missed something vital as he stood and headed to the door with her trailing behind him.

“It’s hard for me to believe this is all coming from a chance encounter with my sister. I can’t help but feel as if I’ve missed something here, Sid.”

“Do you think my request is unreasonable?”

“Not at all, it’s your complete one-eighty that has me boggled.”

“Women aren’t the only ones who wish to protect their hearts.” He pursed his lips and clenched his jaw. Whatever was going on right now was not just about what had happened in the living room.

“I think that’s unfair. There’s something you’re not telling me.”

He glanced away from her, but the avoidance of eye contact spoke volumes. He was hiding something.

“I don’t think I’m the only one who needs to reevaluate what they want, Sidney. We can’t work through our issues together if you choose to keep me in the dark on things. I’ve been very open with you from the start—”

  “Except when Jackson called.”

  “I explained that to you.”

“Yes, after I pressed. It’s not easy to show others your baggage and hang-ups. “

“No, I’ll be the first to admit that.”

Another round of silence fell, and she shifted her weight as she waited for him to make the next move. It was clear he had had some things to work through. She could only hope in the end he found her worth it. He stepped back from her door and gave a curt nod.

  “I’ll be in touch.”

For the first time since she’d met him, Sidney looked unsure of himself. The aristocratic aura she often associated with him seemed to waver as he walked to his car. She wanted to call him back and pull him into a hug, but knew he wouldn’t be open to it right now. He was a hard man to get to know, but she was sure he had his reasons. The glimpses of the incredible person she saw behind the barrier he kept erected intrigued her enough to stick it out. No one had breached her high walls since Jackson until now. There had to be a reason why Sidney put her at ease. Sutton wasn’t maudlin enough to start spouting about soul mates and kismet, but she recognized a kindred spirit. It was clear to see they’d both been hurt before. The real challenge was overcoming the past in order to have a future.

  Chapter Nine

“Fuck!” Sidney fought back the urge to pound his fist on the steering wheel as he drove away from the house. He knew he’d been a complete git, but her hesitation had set off warning bells inside his head. She was so new to all of this; of course she’d be nervous. If he was half the man he thought he was he’d go back and apologize. But really how did he know she wouldn’t flake on him later? His gut churned in as he thought back to the day that had thrown his entire world off balance.

  “Is he gone?”

Sutton looked up from the couch and nodded as her sister entered the room clad in a shorts and tank set.

“Good. You want to tell me what’s up with the older man, and that piece around your neck?”

“Jackson was almost eleven years older than me.”

  “Yeah, eleven not twenty.”

“Sidney is only eighteen years older, and I don’t appreciate your comments.”

“Look, Sutton, I know it’s been a long time since you had a man in your bed, but that’s no reason to settle.”

“Are you sure you want to have this conversation?” Sutton asked. She was tired of biting her tongue when it came to Carissa. Her days of playing nursemaid were long gone.

  “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You heard me. Do you really want to talk about settling in life? You’re twenty-one, still live at home with Mom, go to school part time, and flit from job to job. Your relationships read like a Tyler Perry movie, and yet you want to judge me?”

Carissa’s jaw dropped as her hazel eyes rounded.

“I can’t believe you said that! You’ve always resented me! You had to take care of me your entire life after Dad died, and it kills you that I’m so different from you and Mom.”

“No, what kills me is that you’re so irresponsible and ungrateful.”

“No one asked you to do a damn thing, Sutton!”

“You’re right, I did what needed to be done, and all I ever wanted in return was to see each of you go on to be successful.”

  “Bullshit!”

“I don’t know where you get these warped views, Carissa!”

“It’s in everything you do, the way you talk to me, the disappointment in your eyes when I screw up yet again. Just because you don’t say something out loud, doesn’t mean it’s not coming across loud and clear.”

“I won’t apologize for wishing you’d grow up and make better decisions. “

  “See!”

“You’re acting like a damn child, Carissa!”

“I don’t have to take this—”

“Actually, I think this is a long time coming. It’s time you got your head on straight and realize you’re not a child anymore. Mom and I aren’t always going to be there to bail you out.”

“Whatever, Sutton. I wonder what Mom would think of you and your kinky new lifestyle with your latest beau. I bet you wouldn’t be the golden child then.”

  “What are you talking about?”

“That collar you have wrapped around your neck isn’t just some Goth accessory.”

Her heart pounded in her chest as her mouth went dry. She was not ready to have this conversation.

“Funny how quiet you’ve become all of a sudden. Afraid I’ll tell Mom?”

“Tell her what, Carissa? That you think the man I date ties me up in a dungeon and beats me with a whip?”

“Don’t make it sound so far-fetched.”

“I refuse to do this with you.” Sutton stood from the couch and headed to her room.

“I finally have dirt on the lily-white Sutton!”

Sutton slammed the door to her room behind her, shutting out Carissa’s taunts as she eased down on to the side of her bed. How had things spiraled out of control so fast?

  Chapter Ten

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but you look lik
e hell.”

Sutton snorted as she took in the concerned expression on Leigh’s face. It had been almost a month since she’d last heard from Sidney, and the tension in her condo was mounting by the day. She and Carissa were like ghosts, as they moved around the small space in silence. Every day she expected her Mother to call ranting and raving about all the things she’d heard from Carissa. That worry on top of her job and the sleepless nights filled wondering what Sidney was up to had taken their toll.

“I feel like it, too,” Sutton said. She sighed as she leaned her head against the locker.

“What’s going on? James said Sidney has had a bee in his bonnet for the past few weeks, too. I can’t help but think the two are related.”

“We had an argument, and he said we both needed time to think about what we wanted to get out of our relationship.”

  “Why would he say that?”

  “Carissa—”

“Oh God! I know she’s your sister, but I could kill that wench. She’s so jealous of you she can barely stand it.”

“We had it out. She’s convinced I resent her, and I’m jealous of her worry free way of life.”

  “Ugh.”

“My thoughts exactly. It’s like a battle-field in the house. We avoid one another as much as possible and don’t speak when our paths do cross, and at any moment I expect my Mom to call and read me the riot act.”

  “Why?”

“Carissa saw me in my training collar and went off on a jag about how she finally had dirt on the lily-white golden child. Dealing with her and that mess on top of this separation from Sidney is a bit much.”

  “What happened?”

“I’m really not sure. I guess I hesitated to call him my boyfriend, and he thought it made me ashamed of him somehow.”

Leigh sighed and shook her head.

  “You know something.”

“I do, but it’s not my place to say. Just don’t give up on him, Sutton. He has a good reason for over-reacting.”

“I can understand that to a point, but how long does he expect me to wait?”

“You can always go to him.”
