The next thing he knew, he was fully sheathed inside Tor. Tor screamed out in ecstasy and painted Puck’s chest. Puck lost complete control after that. His pheromones began bathing them and he started thrusting into Tor furiously. He leaned down and began kissing Tor as he pumped into him faster and faster. The taste of Tor was driving him even crazier. It didn’t take long and he was pouring into Tor while yelling out his orgasm. He was sure every UnSeelie in the castle heard him.
Puck fell down on his elbows, panting, while touching his forehead to Tor’s. His eyes were once again completely blown and he would have thought more about it if Tor hadn’t climbed back on top of him and started round two.
Chapter 8
The following morning
Puck could barely make his escape. He ran towards Oberon’s quarters like the hounds of hell were on his heels. There was something very wrong with Torque, and Puck knew it had something to do with him. They hadn’t stopped having sex all night long—this went a lot further than his pheromones. Torque had black circles under his eyes from exhaustion, yet he continued to reach for Puck after reaching his peak only moments before. He knew Oberon would know what to do—he just wished he had thought to put on some clothes before running to his king buck ass naked.
Without knocking, Puck entered Oberon’s chambers, coming to a halt to see that the king was still sound asleep. Approaching the bed, he shook Oberon awake.
“Someone better be dead.” Oberon rolled over and looked up to see it was Puck. He must have seen great concern on his face. “What’s wrong? Is Torque okay?”
Puck didn’t know why but his throat got all clogged up with emotion, so he just shook his head no.
Oberon flung off the covers. “Come on, let’s go and see what we can do for him.”
Oberon led them back to Puck’s room and when they entered, it was to see Torque curled into a ball, panting.
“Puck, help me…” Torque’s voice was almost gone from all the screaming he’d done the night before.
Kneeling down by the bed, Oberon looked Torque over without touching him. “Puck, you’re going to need to give him your blood. That’s the only way to fix him.”
“What’s wrong with him?” Puck came and sat on the bed, petting Torque’s sweaty hair back.
“He’s your mate, but he’s still mortal. Your pheromones have overloaded his system. You give him your blood, it will counteract the effects. Think of it as an antibody.” Oberon walked over to the wall and pulled a dagger down.
It finally all made sense to Puck. While he hadn’t heard of many fairies having mates, there were a few that did. That must have been why Puck was instantly attracted to Torque and hadn’t been able to concentrate on anyone else for the last month. It was a surprise he hadn’t approached him instead of Torque running into him by chance. Maybe the touching had been what set everything into motion? Who knew? He just wanted Torque to be himself again.
“Won’t that tie him to me? I don’t think he’s in the right mind to make any decisions right now.” That was the last thing Puck wanted, to enslave Torque.
“Not really. This is actually the best solution for both of you. Him drinking your blood will actually give him free will. Without your body influences on him, he’ll be able to make his own decisions and you’ll never have to question if he cares for you or if he’s just intoxicated by you,” Oberon said while grabbing Puck’s arms and making a small cut above the wrist. A shallow pool of blood began to form on the skin.
“Has this happened before?” Puck asked guiding his wrist to Torque’s mouth.
“It happened to a very small degree with Titania and me. That’s the only reason I know what to do, except Titania had to give me some of her blood, too. I think once he becomes more fairy like, you’ll have to do the same. This is unchartered water for me. This is going to take some trial and error.” Oberon watched intently as Torque started to make a soft sucking noise.
As Puck fed Torque his blood, he began to fuss over him with one hand. He made sure the covers were tucked around his clammy skin and kept brushing back his messy hair trying to sooth him. Eventually Torque pulled off.
“Was that enough?” Puck asked Oberon, who gave a silent nod that it was.
“I’ll leave you two now,” Oberon got up and silently left them.
Torque looked over at Puck with tired blue eyes, “That was crazy. I don’t think I’ll be able to sit for a month. I’m going to need one of those donuts.”
For once, Puck had no idea what he was talking about but the small smile Torque was giving him said a lot. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. We took a chance and had one wild crazy night. I don’t regret any of it. Do you?”
“No I don’t. I just want you to be…happy?” he finished.
“I am happy—happy that you brought me here and happy that I met you. I’m excited about getting to know you more and see where are futures are going to lead. Now come lie down with me—I’m sorely in need of a good long nap, and when we wake up we can shower and eat, but I’m too tired to move right now.” Torque lifted the covers invitingly.
Puck climbed in, adjusting them until he and Torque were in a comfortable position. In a matter of seconds, Torque’s breathing slowed, signalling his sleep. He knew he had already fallen for Torque, but he was willing to wait as long as Torque needed to reciprocate those feelings. After all, they had just met. Puck closed his eyes, letting his thoughts drift away, and followed Torque contentedly to sleep.
Epilogue
Three Weeks Later
Torque could not believe he was dragging yet another tree up the pathway to the castle. Every time it entered the room, the needles fell off quicker than you could say “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree.”
He was sick and tired of playing Paul Bunyan, and with Puck being MIA for last several hours, Torque’s temper was at its breaking point.
Upon entering the throne room he could see the entire court was there looking on as he came in. It didn’t take long to start seeing a trail of needles and several bald patches. By the time he lifted it up in the center of the room, there wasn’t a single needle left.
“Oh, come on!” Torque began shouting at the bare branches. “You’re an evergreen, for Christ’s sake. You’re not supposed to lose your needles.” He dropped the tree and walked over to Oberon, who was chuckling a little bit.
“Is this some fairy land thing? Do all trees die over here?” Torque gave Oberon the stink eye, which only made him laugh harder.
“No, I think someone is fucking with you.” Oberon started full out laughing.
“You!” Torque pointed at him. “You’ve been killing my trees. Don’t you want a Christmas tree? I have presents wrapped, dammit! They need a tree to go under. You humbug!” Torque turned and walked away only to slip on the ice, making his exit a little lame. Damn ice did it to him every time. He heard the sound of a thud behind him. Oberon must have laughed so hard, he fell off his damn throne.
“You’re getting reindeer shit in your stocking, O.” Torque scowled over his shoulder.
“I thought it was coal?” Oberon started to right himself.
“Not in this court, you get reindeer shit.” Torque looked over his sad little tree. Maybe if he had some decorations, he could somehow make it better. Maybe he could go over to the Seelie side. The last time he looked, their tree made Rockefeller’s look like a Griswold special.
He was thinking of ways to pilfer the ornaments, when Puck and Khellan walked in carrying several bags and one long ass box. Puck walked up to him and put down the large box to show that it was a massive fake Christmas tree. Each of the bags was filled with colorful ornaments and presents.
Puck walked over and gave him a deep kiss. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you, too. What’s all this?” Torque gestured towards the bags.
“I went shopping for you at Bronner’s. I wanted you to have your first holiday with me be a memorable one so I went and got a t
ree for us to decorate. However, it is July over in your realm so I had to find a Christmas store open year round.” Puck reached in a bag and pulled out a box of glass icicles.
Time was the only thing Torque was having a hard time getting used to. He would think it was Christmas and his realm was celebrating the Fourth of July. Hey, he could really do Christmas in July. People threw parties for that all the time. He wanted Puck to experience Christmas with him, and honestly, he wasn’t patient enough to wait.
“I had to kill three trees, Puck. Tor was trying to give you the same surprise. His face was priceless,” Oberon walked up and began inspecting the boxes while still laughing at him.
Torque wielded an icicle like a knife and pointed it at Oberon, “Don’t hurt my tree, O.”
Oberon smiled. “I think you’re a little more like this court than we initially thought. You’re a little bloodthirsty…very cute.”
Puck pulled the icicle out of his hand. “Come on, there’s something I want to give you early and I don’t want to do it here. Khellan, will you watch the stuff?”
“Sure, I just want to pull out another one of those peppermints sticks,” Khellan said, rummaging through the bags.
Puck led him back to their chambers. It was amazing that in such a short time Torque felt like this was his home now. His affection was growing every day for Puck and knew he was already in love with him, even though he hadn’t declared it yet. He wanted to wait until Christmas morning—or what he thought might be Christmas here—to tell him. Time was so wonky here.
He sat down on the sofa in front of the fireplace. “What is it Puck?”
Puck grabbed both of his hands. “I know when I took you there wasn’t a whole lot you were giving up to come here, but I know there was one thing you wanted to do—graduate college.”
“That’s okay, Puck, I’m happy here with you. I can give it up. Maybe you can teach me a thing a two,” Torque assured him.
“That’s just it… I don’t want you to have to give up anything for me—that’s why I enrolled you in the next school year that’s coming up. It’s all paid for—I got a house and everything for us to go back to. Four years there will be like four months here. Oberon already gave me the okay to go over with you. That is, if you still want to go…” For the first time, Puck looked a little uncertain.
Tears began to fill his eyes but there was no way he was going to cry. “Outside of you, that’s the best present I’ve ever received. Thank you.”
Puck’s face shone with excitement. “I’m your best present?”
“Yep, just need to put a big red bow on you.” Torque leaned over, giving Puck a deep kiss.
Torque couldn’t believe this was the fairy that had such a bad reputation. Sure, Puck was a little bit of a troublemaker, as Torque found out over the last couple of weeks, but it was pretty harmless stuff. Plus it was pretty fun to cover the Seelie beaches with ice and make a hockey rink with it. Giving any Seelie that came near them a snow shower was even fun for Torque.
“I’m going to make sure you have the best time over there. I want to make you happy.” Torque smiled.
“You already do,” Puck crawled on top of Torque.
“I love you, Puck.”
“I love you too, Tor.”
Hopefully, Oberon could protect their tree for just a little longer because Torque was going to show Puck just how much he loved him.
