Tolkien’s classic “The Hobbit”, and was given a needed reading boost with John Grisham novels and the “Star Wars Expanded Universe” in the 1990s. He currently lives on a hill in the north of England awaiting the coming flood, where he writes essentially grumpy fiction (for which pursuit he was nominated for a 2008 World Fantasy Award for Best Short Story) whilst being tall, grouchier than he should be, and owning a wide selection of garish shirts and a rather fine leather waistcoat.   Barbie Wilde

Barbie Wilde is best known as the Female Cenobite in Clive Barker’s classic cult horror movie Hellbound: Hellraiser II. ed “Holy Grail of unfinished and unreleased 80’s horror” Grizzly II: The Predator, AKA Grizzly II: The Concert (featuring a then unknown George Clooney), and was a founder member of the mime/dance/music group, SHOCK, which supported such artists as Gary Numan, Ultravox, Depeche Mode and Adam & the Ants. During the 1980s and 1990s, Barbie also hosted and wrote eight different music and film review TV programs in the UK.

Horror short stories by Barbie include “Sister Cilice” (for the Hellbound Hearts anthology, edited by Paul Kane and Marie O’Regan), “U for Uranophobia” (for the Phobophobia anthology, edited by Dean M. Drinkel), “American Mutant: Hands of Dominion” (for the Mutation Nation anthology, edited by Kelly Dunn) and “Polyp” (for The Mammoth Book of Body Horror, edited by Paul Kane and Marie O’Regan).

On November 1st 2012, Comet Press published Barbie’s debut dark crime-real life horror novel, The Venus Complex: “The book has been garnering great reviews, firmly confirming the literary course that is now defining Wilde's life. Damaged people, ultraviolence, murder and explicit sex -- what's not to love about her work?” - Fangoria #321

Barbie is now co-writing the book for a musical drama with composer-lyricist Georg Kajanus and screenwriter-playwright Roberto Trippini called Sailor, which contains a unique perspective on life, violence, vengeance and love. Sailor is not only a romantic voyage, it also depicts the brutality of war and life on the fringes of society. Sailor has been conceived as both a stage and film musical.
