“I guess Dad has been talking to Killer’s wife. He said that she’s still got Timmons and Krista’s kid, raising her as her own. Guess, her parents didn’t want shit to do with it.”

I nod. “I’m glad to hear that she’s keeping her. She’s a good woman, and she’ll treat her right. Jenna’s been bitching about making sure the baby had someone watching out for her. She keeps reminding me it ain’t the kid’s fault her dad was a stupid son of a bitch.”

“I saw Jenna heading out a few minutes ago. I never see her anymore, unless she’s leaving.”

It’s been nearly a month since Timmons took Jenna, and she hasn’t slowed down for a second. I knew when I gave her the building, she’d want to get it up and running fast, but I didn’t think she would be so fuckin’ busy that she’d forget I even existed.

I push away from the desk. “Neither do I, but that’s fixin’ to change.”

Twenty minutes later, I walk into Jenna’s restaurant and find her and Daisy hanging some shit on the walls. “Hey babe, got a house to look at today. You got time?”

She looks towards me and smiles. “Sorry, Kidd. We got to get the rest of this shit done, and then we have the health inspector coming in at one.”

“Daisy can be here to talk to the guy. She’s supposed to be the manager, let her manage.”

Her eyes narrow. “She’s only the assistant manager, and I want to be here to talk to the health inspector.”

I know what she’s doing. She’s trying to stall on a getting a house. When I first mentioned getting us a place, she threw a bitch fit. She claimed that I just wanted her out of the club. She said that she’d seen how some of the old ladies were treated, and she wasn’t going to be one of them. There was no damn way she was going to let me install her in a house and forget her. I let her know that I thought she was a fuckin’ idiot. How could I forget her when I couldn’t stand being away from her more than a few minutes? We ended up having a huge blow out that led to the best fucking of my life. By the time it was over, she said we could get a house. Guess she changed her mind.

“Like I said, let Daisy handle it.”

She starts to argue, but Daisy interrupts her. “Go ahead. I’ll call you if there’re any problems.”

Jenna grumbles the entire way to my bike. Even after she crawls on, I can still feel the tension in her body, but that disappears as soon as I pull up to the house down the road from Chipper’s. I cut off the bike and look back at her. “What do you think?”

A sweet smile crosses her face. “I think it looks like home.”

“Slide off, baby girl. Let’s go have a look.”

By the time she reaches the front porch, she’s making plans for the house. “We should paint it a really light yellow.”

I just nod as I open the door. “I want to get a pool put out back. There’s not a lot of room, but we could get an above ground with a deck out there.”

“Oh, that would be awesome,” she says, her voice sounding excited. “We can have cook-outs, and everyone can go swimming after they eat.”

“I’m not sure I want to see Mary in a bathing suit.”

She giggles, something I have never heard her do before. “I bet she’ll wear a bikini.”

I can’t hold back my smile as I lead her from room to room. When we finally step into the last bedroom, she grabs my hand. “This would be perfect for the baby.”

“Are you pregnant?” I ask with both happiness and a little fear in my voice. Yeah, I want her to be the mother of my kids, but I’d like to have a little time with just me and her first. I sure as hell want her having my last name before we add a kid into the mix.

She shakes her head. “No, I just thought…”

I pull her close to me, both relieved and sad. “You thought that someday we’d have a baby, and you’d be right.”

She smile. “I love you, Kiddrick Jones.”

I place my lips on hers, whispering against them, “I love you, Jenna Chandler.”

  Epilogue

  Chipper

I pull into my normal spot and cut the engine off. I sit here for a few minutes, trying to build up my courage. I come here every week, every week for more than six years. Still, it kills me every fucking time. Finally, I slide off my bike and start to walk towards her. Knowing she’s here tears my fucking heart in two. Why the hell it couldn’t have been me instead of her, I’ll never know.

I place my hand on the cold stone, feeling the familiar ache of her loss. “Hey, baby.”

I pull the dried up yellow roses from her vase and replace them with the new ones I brought, just like I do every week. I then go down to my knees and pull the weeds away from her headstone. “It’s almost summer now, and it’s a real pretty day. The sun is shining, but there’s just enough breeze to keep you cool. If you were here, we’d be at the lake. I’d be fishing, while you pretended to pay attention to your bobber, but we both know you’d be too busy talking about what our girl is doing to give a shit if you got a bite.”

Finally, I go down on my ass and rest my head against her headstone. “I gave Kidd your ring last night. He’s gonna ask Jenna to be his wife this weekend. Can you believe our girl is getting married? I know you said it would happen, but I was starting to think you were wrong. Guess I should’ve known better than that.”

I wait a few seconds, hoping some miracle will happen and she answers. Of course, she doesn’t. But in my head, I can almost hear the sound of her happy laughter. Yeah, my woman would be happy as shit that our girl was finally going to wear her ring. “You’ll never guess what Jenna did. She’s been taking classes online and getting some sort of degree in business. Silly ass didn’t even tell me. She said that she wanted to do it on her own. Kinda pissed me off that she didn’t want me to know, but then she said she wanted to surprise me when she was done. She wanted to do something that would make us proud. Can’t be pissed about that.”

I take a deep breath before going on. “Kidd bought that old building down on Streets Avenue for her. She’s going to open a restaurant and some sort of place for the girls to get their hair done. She’s named the spa something fuckin’ stupid, but she’s calling the restaurant Mindy’s Café. Daisy’s gonna run it, but they’re using those recipes cards that you made up for Jenna. She says, once everyone gets a taste of your sliced beef sandwiches, they’ll be full of customers every day.”

I run my hand over her name, Mindy Mae Jones. “She’s doing good. No, our girl is doing fuckin’ great. She reminds me more of you every day. I know she only had you for a little while, but you gave so much of yourself to her in that time that it made her who she is now. She’s a good woman, a wonderful old lady, and I am so damn proud to call her our daughter.”

I close my eyes and tell her the same thing I do every time I come here. “God, I miss you so much. Every fuckin’ time I wake up, I reach for you. When I realize you’re not there, it’s like losing you all over again. I need you so bad. I can’t stand living this life without you.”

My words stop when I hear a car pull up and look across the graveyard. An older couple gets out and starts to walk to one of the graves. That’s my cue to go. I don’t share my time with Mindy with anyone, especially not strangers. I slowly push myself up and place my hand on the top of her headstone. “I guess I better get going. I’ll see you next week. Love you, baby.”

  Excerpt:

“Fuck me, how the hell did she get into those damn shorts?” Caleb mumbled beside him, as he fixed himself up.

He had no clue as to how she got them on. But the thing that worried him most was how short they really were. Kaidence dropped something, Sage turned around to pick it up, her ass in the air, the denim shorts pulled tighter across them, showing how perfectly round her ass was in the damn fucking shorts. She was close to showing the world what was under them.

“I hate those shorts,” Caleb growled.

He couldn’t agree more. She straightened and walked towards them. Smiling sweetly at both of them. He had a feeling she did that on purpose. Fixing himself right there in front of her, her eyes travelled down to where they were, and shot back up to his.

“Spitfire, that wasn’t very nice,” Logan said as he pulled her into him. Her hands rested on his chest as his own hands wandered down to her covered ass and squeezed. “I hope you know what you’re doing, spitfire,” continued before his mouth descended on to hers. Her fingers tightened on his shirt as his tongue pushed its way into her mouth. Loving how she stroked over him with her own tongue, and hearing the sweetest little moan coming from her mouth he gripped her ass, pulling her further into him, grinding his erection into her stomach.

“Get a fucking room, you two, or better yet, keep going so I can watch,” Kaidence said laughing.

Zeb shock his head and directed Bri, Lilly and Kaidence to his truck.

Logan pulled his mouth from Sage’s. Both were breathing heavily from the kiss. Caleb slid up behind her, as he pushed them both harder against the truck, she gasped as Caleb rubbed himself against her ass, knowing his hardness would push nicely against her perfect ass cheeks.

He hand slid down hers, and he held her bag in his hands as he continued to stand plastered against her.

He heard the engine start of Zeb’s truck and knew he’d pulled away from the curb; they were going to meet at the servo out of town, to fill up for the two hour drive to the ranch.

Caleb’s other hand slid around the front of hers, sitting at the top of her shorts. body pushed back against his as his fingers stroked over the skin that was bare between the shorts and t-shirt. Gripping her hips, he grounded himself against her again. “You’re a naughty little spitfire for wearing this, aren’t you? You knew exactly how we would act once we saw this outfit, huh?” Caleb whispered on a groan.

Caleb pushed his fingers below the band of the shorts, her body swayed towards his, as her nails dug into Logan’s chest. Her eyes rolled back into her head, as Caleb’s hand, moved below her shorts. Her hips started to rock against Caleb’s hand, as Logan lifted his own and pinched her nipple, which hardened instantly. He wanted his mouth on them, her bare flesh, but had to wait until that night, when they were in their cabin alone.

Looking at Caleb, Logan watched as removed his hand from her shorts and sucked his fingers clean. God, he wanted a taste of her.

“Now, unless you want us both to take you right here in front of your neighbours to see, I suggest you jump up in the back seat so we can head out.”

The look that passed over her face, had Logan groaning, she was actually considering them taking her there in front of all her neighbours.

Opening the back door, Logan lifted her up and climbed in after her; he wasn’t going to be able to sit in the front why she was squirming in the back, dripping wet for them.

Caleb slid in behind the steering wheel and started the engine. The vibration from the V10 motor vibrated through the whole vehicle, making Sage squirm even more in the back seat, maybe they could have a little playtime before they made it at the ranch. Logan hardened even more at the thought.

Sliding to the middle of the seat, Logan lifted Sage up and sat her on his lap. Where he sat was a perfect view for Caleb to see what was goin
g to happen, and depending if he could actually drive with what was about to happen, only time would tell.

“What are you doing?” she whimpered as his hands traced over her collar bone and edged down the front to the top of her shirt.

She faced the front; Caleb’s eyes were glued to the mirror, having a perfect view at what Logan’s hands were doing so far.

One hand pushed her legs apart, holding them apart with his own as his fingers, moved down her body and rested at the crotch of her shorts. Caleb, removed his eyes only for a short few seconds as he felt the truck come to a stop. Unclipping his belt, Caleb folded the chair in the middle down and turned around in his own chair to get a better view.

“I think the shorts need to go,” Caleb suggested, his breathing heavy.

Logan lifted Sage off of his lap. “Take them off, spitfire.”

Sage bent over, sliding them down her legs, both of them groaning at the tiny G-string she was wearing under them, before she could move back, he pulled her to his lap again, spread her legs as wide as they could go and traced his fingers over the wet patch that covered her.

Caleb had the best view; he turned his body further around. Logan heard the sound of a zipper being un-done as Caleb laid the front seat back, just enough to sit back and watch the show.

Her head fell back against his shoulder as his fingers added pressure to her clit. Jolting her body forward on his legs, he wrapped his arm around her, holding her there.
