FINLEY: Decoy spin off series (Decoy Dynasty Book 1) Page 24

by KT Fisher

“I’ll go first, and then I’ll help you out.” He orders, and when he steps out the limo the screaming is almost too loud to deal with. As soon as Finley’s feet are out, he turns back to me and offers me his hand. The cheering dies down for a couple of seconds, until my feet stretch out of the limo and I’m standing beside Finley. Caden and Liam on opposite ends as we walk down the red carpet, everyone screaming and cheering. It’s a little overwhelming.

As we walk down the red carpet, the band and I sign our autographs and pose for photos. The fans are so excited to see us and all ask if we’re together and that they love us. When we reach the interviewing area of the red carpet, it’s different. We still have to have our photos done and ask questions, I try to dodge all the ones about Finley’s mistake with Sky and the guys support Finley and I the whole time. As soon as anyone mentions the intimate photos or Sky’s name, they shut it down and move us along.

When we reach the end, we’re offered some drinks and are lead backstage as we’re due to perform as soon as it begins. I have to change into my performance outfit, which is my black, high wasted jeans and a black bra-let with my black heels.

“You ready?” Finley stands next to me.

“I guess.” I sigh, trying not to leave my nerves get the better than me.

“This is just like any other gig you’ve done Ry, you’ll kill it.” He leans forward and kisses my forehead just as we get the signal that it’s time.

Liam and Caden begin playing, and Finley starts to sing. The audience cheers and sings along. My nerves melt away as I begin to sing and I only see Finley. We do as we had planned, mixing our hit song into our next one and the crowd seems to love it. The whole performance couldn’t have gone any smoother and I look around at all three men as the crowd cheer for us, proud of what we have done.

When we’ve finished, I have to run off the stage to quickly get changed into my two piece dress as we’re up for one of the first awards of the night, best video. I don’t mess around, I dodge everyone, with the guys following. I quickly shut the door behind me, but Finley strolls in as I’m throwing my tiny top on the floor. He grabs me in a tight hold and kisses me as if his life depends on it. When he pulls away, I’m breathless.

  “What was that for?”

“Because you’re fucking amazing.” He growls, handing me my white lace top. “Now let’s get a move on.”

I can’t fucking believe it. Not only have we won best video, but the ‘Fans Favourite Song’ too! Tonight has been amazing and now it’s Riley’s turn to see if she has won ‘Best Newcomer’ and I look over at her, hoping she gets what she deserves. Her pretty little face looks up at the stage, her blue eyes wide as she listens to the nominations being called. I grip onto her hands as we all wait.

“Ok, and the winner of the Best Newcomer award goes to,” A young actor opens the envelope and reads what is written inside. “Riley James!”

She gasps and stays completely still. Everyone claps around us but she still doesn’t react.

“Ry?” I shout over the cheering and she turns to me, her eyes tearing up and her bottom lip wobbles. “You won!”

  “I won?” She asks.

“Go and get your award!” Caden shouts and we both stand on either side of her, helping her to get up. She dazedly walks through the crowd, smiling at everyone and wiping away her tears until she gets to the stage and accepts her award.

“Oh wow.” She laughs into the microphone. She looks fucking beautiful.

Liam grins over at me, all of us are proud of Riley. This time last year she was only just getting her name out there, now she’s winning ‘Best Newcomer’ at the biggest music awards across the world.

“I really didn’t expect this, I’m so thankful to you all but none of this wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Lunacy opening their arms and letting me in.” She holds the award in our direction.

“You deserve it Ry!” Liam shouts out to her and Riley giggles.

“I love you guys.” And she blows a kiss down to us. “While I have you all here listening,” Riley stands tall. “I want to talk about jealous people.” I can see the hate shining in Riley’s eyes as her face is projected on two large screens. People in the crowd show her their support by clapping. “Why do they think they have a right to hurt people? Why do they think they can take secret photos and release them years later, hoping they will split him apart from someone who actually loves him?” The crowd is loud with clapping and cheering now. “And why does she think that after betraying him, he would go running back her. Lesson here is, be kind to everyone you meet, and if they have something you want, go the right way about it and find someone of your own. If they don’t want you like you want them, they won’t be yours.” A loud cheer erupts and she smiles wide “Anyway, thank you everyone and I will cherish this award forever!”

Riley wave’s goodbye and I couldn’t be anymore fucking proud of her. I stand up from my seat, clapping for my girl.

  Epilogue

We’re sat around the table at Finley’s parents because Rory and Noah are away for a month, playing at beach side clubs and when they get back, Grace will be away in New York on a modelling job. So Kendal arranged a big family dinner. My little sister is also here because Finley insisted on visiting my parents for the weekend, and we ended up bringing Amelia back with us. Seven months after originally promising to bring her to Jax and Kendal’s house. My little sister has already visited Haiden, but I like bringing her over as much as I can because they’re best friends and live almost an hour apart from each other. Haiden and Amelia talk on the phone every day and Haiden even helped Amelia make her own YouTube channel and a feature on their videos is that they send little packages to each other and open them up on camera. They already have a huge following between them.

“Not too nervous about your album Riley?” Jax asks, grinning as he leans back in his chair.

Straight after the awards, Jax had me come to his office, along with the appropriate legal person’s because of what happened with Marcus, to sign me to D Records. Jax pays me more royalties than Marcus ever did, but Jax assured me that it’s the amount I should have been earning all along. It seems Marcus got a little greedy and took advantage of me. Ever since, I’ve been recording my album and I even had a special photoshoot for the cover. Obviously Lunacy feature on my album, as much as I am on theirs and it seemed perfect. People refer to me as an extension of the band, or ‘the sister of Lunacy’ and I guess that it’s true. As for Marcus, I don’t know or care where or what he’s doing, but I do know that he isn’t managing artists or anyone else anymore. Which is all I was worried about. I didn’t want anyone else going through what I had to when I was with him.

“I think ‘nervous’ is an understatement.” I laugh.

Rory shakes his head. “No way, an album that features me, doesn’t need worrying about.”

  “I agree.” Nods Noah.

Rory and Noah begged me to collaborate with them and instead of just the one song, we made two. One for each album.

“I think she was doing fine before.” Finley frowns, wrapping and arm around the back of my chair.

Rory and Noah exchange a smirk and don’t respond to Finley’s sulking. Which is smart.

“Riley?” Kendal asks. “Grace and I are going shopping on Wednesday, if you want to come along.”

  “Erm,” I think about it.

“Mum, we all know Riley doesn’t enjoy a shopping trip.” Grace rolls her eyes.

“If we stop half way for food, I’m game.” I add and Kendal breaks into a huge grin.

“Mum,” Haiden interrupts. “Amelia and I are finished now, can we go upstairs?”

“Yes.” Kendal nods, and both girls jump up from their seats but as Amelia passes me, I reach out to stop her.

“We’re going in a minute, I’ll see you tomorrow ok?” Amelia nods, leaning down to hug me goodbye.

As soon as Haiden found out we were bringing Amelia back with us for a few nights,
they were already planning a sleepover. Amelia turns and both girls run upstairs, giggling as they disappear. If I remember correctly, from Amelia’s nonstop chatter all the way here, they’re planning a video together and it’s probably why they’ve been so eager to finish their food and get started.

“Right, we better get going.” Finley stands, and I frown up at him, my belly full with delicious food

“Why are we in such a rush?” I complain as he pulls me up from my seat.

Finley wraps me in a hug. “Because I want you alone.”

Jax laughs, and Kendal tries to act like she didn’t just hear that. Grace doesn’t bother though. “Finley stop being disgusting.”

We say our goodbyes and Finley drives us home, but about ten minutes into the drive he doesn’t take the usual route home. We now share a house together. About two months after the music awards Finley asked me to move in with him, but even though he has emptied the slut room, I still didn’t want to live there. So he put the house up for sale and we looked at houses together until I fell in love with the one we now live in. It looks like an old Edwardian mansion from the outside, but inside it’s all beautiful and modern. We’re still in the middle of redecorating it because we’ve been so busy with our music lately, but it’s getting there.

“Where are we going?” I ask, looking around and trying to figure out where we’re going.

Finley flashes me a cocky grin. “It’s a surprise.”

Twenty impatient minutes later, we pull up at a little fairground. Children are running everywhere with their parents, and I can hear fairground music from inside the car.

“Come on.” Finley urges me as he gets out the car.

As I stand from the car, I look around us and sniff the air. I can almost smell the sugary doughnuts. Finley passes me my jacket from the backseat and I gratefully accept it. As soon as I’m wrapped up, he holds onto my hand and leads me toward the fair. We walk on muddy grass and I’m pleased today I wore my trainers.

“Why are we here?” I ask him as he leads me to a queue of people waiting for the big wheel.

“Thought I’d treat my girl.” He smiles, but I notice the slight wobble on his mouth.

  “You ok Fin?”

Finley suddenly stands straight. “Why wouldn’t I be?”

I shrug, walking closer to the ride as the line shortens. I look around, and the whole scene makes me feel warm inside, even though it’s a chilly day. Parents run after their children with huge smiles and their kids are laughing and jumping around. Nobody has noticed us, and it’s perfect.

We don’t have to wait long for our turn, and we’re guided into a pod. I slip a little as we get in, our wet shoes squeaking on the floor.

“Good luck.” The man winks before he shuts the little door and we move up.

We don’t go right around straight away because they’re still letting people on and off.

“Come here.” Finley opens his arm and waits for me to snuggle inside. His body heat warms me and we begin to spin all the way around the big wheel. With his spare hand, Finley gets out his phone and I spy him sending a text to someone. The only word he sends is, ‘ready’ and I watch him oddly.

“Finley?” I ask him but he shushes me.

“Look over there babe.” He points forward as we reach the top of the wheel and my heart skips a beat.

Out in the fields, is a banner surrounded by tiny little lights. My hand covers my mouth as I read it.

  Riley, will you marry me?

I look to Finley with wide, teary eyes and notice he has a little black box open in his hand, a gorgeous ring sparkling up at me. “Oh my god.” I sob.

“Will you marry me Riley?” He asks, “Will you be my wife?”

“Oh my god.” I cry, looking out at the banner again and crying happy tears.

“Ry?” Finley asks. “You’re killing me here.”

I laugh at him. “Of course I will marry you!” I launch forward, wrapping my arms around him and cry.

Finley breaks the hold, slipping the ring onto my finger and he breathes a huge sigh of relief. “Thank fuck it fits.”

Finley holds onto my face. “You made me the happiest fucker around Riley James.”

“Soon to be Riley Parker.” I giggle and Finley smirks.

“Fucking love the sound of that babe.”

“I love you.” I hold onto him tightly, the cold breeze from the ride forgotten.

“Love you too.” He kisses me and it’s a long, sexual kiss. “Now I need to get you home so I can worship that body of yours.”

A different type of emotion takes over me, I look down at my ring and smile back up at him. “Yes please.”

As Riley sleeps I watch her and think to myself that I’m the happiest motherfucker alive. Nobody knew what I had planned today. My dad knew I had the ring and Riley’s parents knew because I asked their permission but none of them knew how I planned to do it and when. That was all for me to know. Apart from Liam and Caden, they helped with the banner.

I was so fucking nervous when I was driving to the fairground and when we were on the ride I felt so sick, but when I sent the text to Liam and I saw Riley’s reaction all of it went away. She nearly killed me though when she didn’t answer straight away.

As soon as I got her answer I wanted to get her home. I very nearly pulled over on the way home and had her right there, but she had just said yes to becoming my wife and she deserved better than a backseat fumble. The crazy thing is, I never even thought I would get married. I love what my parents have and I always wished for it, but everyone knew what I was like and I couldn’t settle for just one woman, but then I met Riley and everything changed. I was shit scared when I told her about Sky, and I know I should have told her sooner but luckily for me, Riley trusted me and accepted how sorry I was. Tomorrow we will share the news with our families and I know my mum will be amazed. I think she already sees Riley as her daughter, my mum was the first person to see who Riley was for me, before I even knew and before she even met her. She will be over the moon I know that for fucking certain.

Putting that engagement ring on her finger was the best feeling in the world, I can’t wait to officially call her my wife and start our future together. I don’t know if Riley already knows this, but I want a whole bunch of kids with her and they will be good looking kids, I just hope we don’t have any daughters because if they look anything like Riley, I’m going to be in trouble. If I’m so protective over my sisters, fuck knows how I’ll be with a daughter!

Riley stretches next to me, we’re both still naked in our bed and even though I’ve enjoyed every little bit of her body through the night, I want her again.

“Babe?” I whisper, leaning over to lick her nipple. She sighs as her legs part and I chuckle.

“Again?” Riley giggles, opening her eyes and watching me as I hover over her.

“I can’t help it.” I moan, nudging my cock on her pussy.

Riley shakes head, pushing me down and jumping on top of me. “Me on top this time.”

See what I mean? She’s fucking perfect.
