1. Pete remained a bachelor for many years because no girl or woman was as good as Bethany. Have you ever known someone who never married because no one matched up to his or her ideal? Do you think Pete could have been happy with someone else? Why or why not?
2. Why do you think Charlie wanted to leave Bloomfield right after he and Bethany got married?
