He left her thong dangling off her right foot, and she bit on her lip to suppress another moan. Those strong hands moved to position her legs so they were spread in a wide “V.” Next, he shifted up underneath her so that her vagina was over his face, and Rachael knew intuitively what next to do.

She sat down slowly, and he started licking her folds. “Shit,” she gasped. This was the kinkiest sequence of seduction they’d shared, ever. And she was eager to sample even more.

More was Sean teasing her clit with his fingers as he tongued in and out of her slit. More was his hands slapping her ass multiple times, encouraging her to grind her ass on his face as he feasted on the nectar dripping between her thighs. His lips and tongue worked magic on the bundle of tissues at her center, and Rachael knew she was mere moments from disintegrating.

His hands on her thighs encouraged her to go faster as she rode that masterful tongue. The powerful movements of his tongue thrusting inside her gave a whole new dimension to ecstasy. He was making her senses unravel into a jumble of strobe-lit ribbons that almost made her vision ignite. “Sean, I’m going to come!” she half-screamed.

He stopped, guided her shuddering body onto her back, and put her legs around him. He locked eyes with her and intertwined their fingers high above her head. And then he pushed inside of her. The feeling of him stretching out her sensitized walls intensified her pleasure until she was dripping all around him.

“Damn, Rachael you’re so wet for me,” he groaned.

Rachael’s answer was to squeeze on him tighter with her tiny, needy vaginal muscles while she gripped as hard as she could on their interlocked fingers. She wanted to be linked with him mind, body and spirit, with no ounce of holding back.

She felt his shaft throb as each vein seemed imprinted on her inner walls, and she knew Sean was on the brink of erupting, as was she. He kissed her hard, and they shuttled into space together, beyond the reach of solid ground for at least several minutes of rapture.

  “I love you,” he said.

  “And I love you.” Unbreakably.

  Epilogue

Sean drove the moving truck capably along the highway leading outside the city. Seated between him and Rachael was Leila, and they were headed to the property they’d bought out in the city on a large block of land.

Despite its hefty price tag and the distance from civil society, Rachael had agreed to the move...on the proviso that Sean built Leila an awesome tree house. After living together for a year, it hadn’t been so easy for Rachael to simply choose to relocate thanks to the stress and hassle of moving. Thankfully, Sean had completely won her over, and now she was just as enthusiastic as could be.

They arrived at the location, Sean parking the truck rental just as two other cars drove up behind them. It was Rachael’s parents, and in the other car was Sean’s business friends, Jack and Thomas, who’d turned up to lend a hand.

The next few hours were busy and not a little noisy, with the happy Leila skipping around checking on everything and just enjoying an exciting new environment.

With everyone else safely occupied, Sean took Rachael aside. “I need to show you something.”

Rachael was filled with curiosity as she went with Sean through the cobbled path leading to the water’s edge just beyond the house. Just as she reached the shoreline, she came to an abrupt stop as she spotted a small guest cottage right on the water.

Speechless for a few moments, she could only stare, slowly beginning to recognize that the cottage looked just like the one from their stay in the Wicklow Mountains.

“How did you…what…?” She could barely get the words out, and Sean came behind her to wrap an arm around her shoulders.

“I had it custom-built,” he confessed. “A memento of where our relationship truly first began.”

“Oh, Sean.” Overwhelmed, she turned her head and buried her face in his chest. He surprised her every day with just how loving and committed he was to their love.

“And speaking of mementos…” Sean began mysteriously.

Rachael slowly lifted her head, something in his tone striking her interest. She saw him lift up something silvery in his hand, and she did a double-take at the achingly familiar chain with the inscribed pendant hanging from it.

He helped her put on the chain, made warm by his fingers as it rested on her bare skin. “I never thought I’d see this again,” she said, fingering the lines of Ogham lettering on the pendant. “I lost it when I moved back to America from Dublin. I was gutted for months, and it took a while for me to get over the fact it went missing. How on earth did you find it?”

“When your father was helping to pack some of your things from the family home to bring here with you, he found it tucked in one of your old high school binders. He decided to give it to me instead and have me present it as a surprise,” Sean said with a grin.

Rachael sighed with utter happiness. It had been such a full year for them. They’d married in a private, yet lavish ceremony with just friends and family. Over the next several months, Rachael had taken time off from the museum to complete her Masters. Sean had opened a new restaurant in the center of London, and had acquired a cookbook deal with a major publisher and TV spots on two popular cooking shows.

And yet, no matter what they busied themselves with in their professional life, they never lost sight of what truly mattered and instead, found the right balance. Their family life was brimming and colorful, with Leila blossoming into as bright and lovely a young eight-year-old as any parent would wish for.

Sean picked Rachel up easily and had her wrap her legs around his waist.

Rachael giggled, and Sean snatched her mouth in a steamy kiss. They were still locked in their passionate enjoyment of each other’s lips when they were interrupted by Leila.

  “Mom! Dad! That’s so gross!”

Sean set Rachael down, both of them chuckling as they turned to their daughter who stood there with her pretty blue eyes giving them a cross look. Father and mother grabbed her to them for a family hug, which made her squeal in delight.

Their unified laughter filled the wide open space of the lake, trees and stacked mountains in the distance. Minutes later, all three walked hand-in-hand back to the house to finish up with the unpacking. Sean and Rachael shared a private look that spoke volumes, letting Rachael know he could wait to get them alone.

That wouldn’t be for hours yet, judging by how much work needed to be done. But oh, the wait was always what made it more exciting.

Rachael, on her part, was looking forward to their personal time too. So she could thank Sean with all her heart. Thank him for being awesome, and for making her fall in love with him all over again every single day. The butterflies he’d sent dancing in her stomach since the first time they’d met still hadn’t run out of steam, and she knew they never would.

It felt unreal how happy they were together, sharing their life with Leila. Even the dark shadow of Moira’s involvement in keeping them apart hadn’t darkened their joy for long. Besides, she’d come to her senses and, in a most unexpected move, called them to apologize. It wasn’t much, but it had at least meant that she wasn’t totally irredeemable. She admitted that she hated herself for her bizarre behavior, and would do them all a favor and keep away for good.

Sad as it was to lose a long-time friend—or who Sean had believed was a friend—he was well over the whole thing. They’d all been to blame in their own way, and Sean was simply glad that love had found a way. It wouldn’t always be smooth and straight, but the road was always sure and clear in its journey to joining two destined hearts.

The pain of the past no longer mattered, not for Sean and Rachael. They had the rest of their lives to make up for every moment lost.

That first day arriving at their new home marked another beginning, a new chapter of their lives opening. They couldn’t wait to fill it with all the beautiful memories that a life full of happiness, love and togetherness would bring.

  Chapter One

Gabrielle Black swore loudly when her alarm clock woke her up. She didn’t even have a real job – she certainly didn’t need to be up first thing, not today anyway.

Grumbling to herself, she rose from bed and turned off the alarm, making sure it was staying off since she didn’t need to be waking up at six a.m. tomorrow either. Until she found a permanent job, she could sleep in every morning. Not that she was complaining, but she did have bills to pay.

There was no way she could go back to bed now. The night had been much too warm, and she felt a little sticky. Deciding she needed a shower, Gabrielle stripped off her night shirt. As she passed by the wall mirror, she reluctantly paused to view her image. She hadn’t been paying much attention to herself lately, but thank goodness she was the low-maintenance type. She had good skin that didn’t need days in the spa to glow. And she didn’t need to spend hours in the gym to keep her nice figure.

But then she had never been too critical of her attributes. If anyone was looking for perfection, they definitely wouldn’t find it in her. She was just happy in herself, though she always gave room for improvement. Long dark hair, brown eyes, and nice face – she especially liked her pointy nose and chin – chocolate skin, nice boobs and ass, and just the right side of five feet to have people pointing out she could have been a model.

Well, that hadn’t happened since she was in her teens. Now, at twenty-six, she’d given up dreams of anything glamorous. She had a degree in English, but judging by her employment history since she left college, she’d never put her degree to much use. She was far from being a success even three years after graduation.

Finally dressed in skinny jeans and a sweatshirt, Gabrielle made for the kitchen. As she walked down the hallway, she passed by her roommate and best friend’s room. Ayana’s door was wide open, and Ayana was bare-ass naked with some dude asleep next to her.

Gabrielle shook her head with a chuckle. She was getting more than a little jealous of Ayana’s carefree exploits. She always had hot guys all over her, mostly from campus where Ayana was getting her Masters – on a full ride, no less. And she still had time to work as a bartender for her day job – just for fun, as Ayana put it.

Some girls had all the luck. Gabrielle sighed as she bit into a banana in the kitchen. Looking around in the fridge, she realized they needed groceries, but Gabrielle couldn’t stretch her current funds that far and would have to ask Ayana for another loan.

To think Gabrielle had believed moving to New York would change everything.

It had always seemed like they big city could offer her so much more than her small town ever could. Her parents had told her she’d never make it on her own in this big place, and she hated to think they may have been right. Just as they’d been right that her English degree would be next to useless in the real world.

They’d never really believed in her, and that only made Gabrielle determined not to give up.

When Ayana finally surfaced, Gabrielle was at her computer in the kitchen, going over her finances. Ayana grabbed a mug of coffee and joined Gabrielle, who looked up with an accusing glance. “I saw your friend leave earlier. Aren’t you picking them much too young this time?”

Ayana’s eyes widened with innocence. “He’s twenty-one. I checked his ID. That makes me six years older, but who’s counting? Age is nothing but a number, baby.”

“Well – I guess you don’t have to be too picky when it’s just a one-night stand,” Gabrielle murmured wryly before turning her attention back to the screen.

“You should try it though. Just once,” Ayana said, taking an appreciative sip of her coffee. “You’ve been single much too long. You need someone to let off some steam, if only for a few hours. Eases a lot of tension; take it from me.”

“Thanks for the advice, but I’m too worried about money to have time for romance.”

“Who’s talking about romance? It’s just sex, Gabrielle. No fancy tags involved. You meet someone hot that you like, and you just do it. No strings attached.”

“I’ll give it a thought once I can find myself doing something tangible,” Gabrielle said. “For now, I just need to sort myself out.”

“You promise to give it a try? I’ll hold you to it, believe me,” warned Ayana with a finger pointed at Gabrielle.

“Yeah, whatever. Right now, I need your help with trying to brainstorm what type of jobs I can try for. Is that bar you work for hiring?”

Ayana stared at her blankly. “Girl, you can’t mix a good drink to save your life. And don’t even think of waitressing again. Plates just seem to jump off your tray and you bump into everything. Don’t even get me started on that time you were the manager of that tattoo shop.”

“Hey now, that wasn’t my fault. Who knew I’d faint at the sight of blood the way I did? I can’t be blamed for something I have no control over,” Gabrielle said with a pout.

Ayana waved her hands dismissively. “Just forget it. We could go all day talking about all the things you’ve failed at since you moved to New York.”

“But I can’t keep working as a temp. I’ve tried it for three months, and I’m barely making ends meet.”

“I know the checks are few and far between, but it’s better than nothing. What do you plan on doing? Maybe going back to your last job as a shop girl?” Ayana shook her head with a humorous laugh. “Remember how you almost got slapped by a customer?”

Gabrielle held a palm to her cheek reflexively. She definitely hadn’t forgotten that. Damn her lack of tact. She had the horrible habit of telling people the truth when they asked her how something looked.

Though she didn’t voice it right then, Gabrielle began to seriously consider leaving the city. Ayana would definitely try to talk her out of it, but how long could Gabrielle keep living off her friend’s goodwill?

With nothing else to do, Gabrielle opened up a webpage that led her straight to her email. She saw the notifications and absentmindedly checked through her incoming mail.

Then suddenly, she saw it. “Oh shit,” she said aloud, and Ayana turned to her in surprise.

  “What is it?”

“Maybe a fluke,” Gabrielle said slowly. “But I think I just got offered a job.”

  Chapter Two

It wasn’t just any job, but an exec assistant at A.B. Financial. One of the biggest financial technology – fintech - companies in the city. According to the email, Gabrielle’s application had passed the preliminary screening and she was invited for a final interview, which was more or less just a formality, from what Gabrielle could gather from the details.

She was over the moon at the prospect that in a week she could be working at a real job.

Gabrielle, Ayana and two of their other friends decided to go out and celebrate. Ayana, as always, was great with organizing their night out. After all, she worked in this amazing bar with the coolest crowd.

Gabrielle, however, was shocked when they got to the venue and the staff showed them right to the VIP section. “Girl, I can’t afford any of this,” Gabrielle protested to Ayana, who waved her off.

“Come on, I work here, remember? I managed to get us free bottle service tonight. I told everyone we’re celebrating your new job,” Ayana said gaily, throwing an arm around Gabri
elle. “Just enjoy it, woman! Besides, you can always pay me back. You’re set to start this awesome new job, after all. We’ve got to make this a night to remember, so don’t worry about it.”

Gabrielle tried to fight down her twinge of guilt. Don’t worry about it. That was becoming her bestie’s new catchword with Gabrielle. When she lent Gabrielle the couture dress and heels she had on, she said the same thing, even though Gabrielle had said she’d just wear something from her own wardrobe. Of course, Ayana knew Gabrielle had nothing remotely suitable to wear to this kind of upscale spot.

Everything about the bar reeked of the posh lifestyle, from the décor to the service and the stylish crowd. Gabrielle decided to stop overthinking everything, and just have fun. Once I start earning good money, I’ll make sure many other nights out with Ayana are on me.

For now, she just felt awed and swept away in the pumping nightlife of the bar. Top shelf champagne filled their glasses and with their hottest cocktail dresses, Gabrielle and her girls were looking like a bunch of socialites in their corner of the VIP section. Their party was drawing a lot of attention from the trust-fund types seated across from them, also getting the best bottle service and VIP treatment.

Gabrielle giggled from behind her champagne glass at the thought that some rich kid would actually mistake her or any of their group as wealthy or high class. Not that any of them had anything to be ashamed of. They came from good enough backgrounds, but they certainly couldn’t boast of being over-privileged.

Even Ayana, who always had money to burn, simply had the smarts and ambition that always got her a fat bank account. She excelled at everything she set her mind to, which always made Gabrielle feel determined that once she had her chance, she’d make herself be the best she could be.
