by Wanda Edmond

Her pursuer clipped her before she got a head start.

Kristina and the man tumbled onto the sand.

“What are you doing?” Kristina slapped at her rescuer with her hands. “This is a private beach. You can’t be here!”

  “I think I can, Kris—.”

Kristina stopped struggling. Kristina knew who her rescuer was. The timbre of his voice was unforgettable. Slowly she let her arms slip to the sand. Kristina opened her eyes as she stared into the dark blue irises of her brother, Ian Knight.

  *****

  How could this be happening?

Kristina had gone from behaving like a Georgia peach to a sex kitten. And how could she run into her stepbrother Ian and be half naked?

How had they wound up at the same spa-resort?

The odds of them seeing each other, after being apart so long had to be an astronomical, WTF.

The last time they had been together, Kristina had told Ian she never wanted to see him again.

Here they were entangled in each other’s arms on a private beach in the sand and surf in Miami. Kristina couldn’t believe her eyes. Kristina mom and Ian’s dad had promised she and Ian would never see each other again after Ian turned 18. Ha. Shows what they knew. When Kristina learned both their parents had died in the midst of getting divorced, the pain of losing them somehow made staying away from Ian easier. Kristina had been able to blame her close relationship with Ian on a twist of fate. She wouldn’t dare tempt fate now.

“Ian, what are you doing here—?”

  *****

Ian stared at the gorgeous woman lying beneath him. She had grown up considerably and Ian could feel how perfectly his stepsister Kristina had matured, and in all the right places.

Ian had tracked Kristina down after he had seen her online. The Sur Elegante was a private spa, and located a scenic drive from his penthouse. A check-in with the manager Chemise and the right amount of incentive, and Ian was able to arrange a secluded rendezvous. Ian looked down at his one-time flesh and blood. She had the same green eyes he remembered, yet her small chest was now a woman’s. Her beautifully sensual lips were still rose-scented, and full.

“I came here to find you.”

Ian felt his sex lengthen. His erection stretched and swelled as Kristina’s eyes roamed across his body. Ian glanced at Kristina’s wet, blonde tresses, remembering her innocence, and falling under her passionate spell again. He could sense the heat simmering behind her wide eyes. Ian looked from his erection to Kristina. The last time she had seen him he had only begun to become a man.

A lot had changed since then, even him. His affection for Kristina however, had only grown. As had many of his other parts. Ian rolled onto his side, and his hard-on swung and it rose at full attention. Ian looked at his stepsister Kristina and he smiled sheepishly.

  *****

  How could he be here?

Kristina tried to clear her head. She had stripped naked to enjoy the surf. What happened instead? She had tried to seduce her own stepbrother. Kristina had bared her naked breasts to her brother. It didn’t matter if they were related by marriage or by bloodline. Kristina had wanted to forget her complicated life and leave her past far, far away.

Kristina had tried to flee when she realized who Ian was, and he’d caught her. They were on a private beach, and all she could do was stare at Ian’s thick, throbbing erection, and fantasize how Ian Knight would feel if Kristina let him thrust himself inside her.

  “No—.”

Kristina rose to her feet. Her bikini bottom had slipped away during the struggle. Kristina knew the spa guests hadn’t filled the beach yet because it was the middle of the week. She was at the spa with Ian and they were alone together. The thought gave Kristina a shiver.

“How did you know I was here, Ian?”

Kristina saw Ian’s long, muscled hard body as he approached. She stepped back tentatively, but she was determined to stand her ground. “I asked you why!”

Ian couldn’t help it. Kristina was his.

“How couldn’t I? The newswire in Miami is all aflutter. ‘Georgia out-of-townie hits it big with luxury coffee splurge’. Isn’t that what the Internet is saying?” Ian rubbed his chest against Kristina’s soft bosom.

Ian took a step toward his sister and she pulled away. He reached for her and dragged her into his arms. Her wet skin touched against his burning nakedness.

Kristina felt her body melt into her brother’s strength. Every feeling from years back rushed to the present. Including her memory of their first kiss.

“I didn’t plan that. It, happened.” Kristina felt Ian’s throbbing manhood as it pressed firmly against her stomach. If she had lifted one hip, he could hold her thigh and he could slip effortlessly inside her.

Kristina bit her lip, her body flushed. The warm night air sizzled from hers and Ian’s mutual attraction as the sun set behind the sea.

Kristina and Ian stood on the sand, inches from the surf. She looked up at Ian. His eyes had turned darker, and she could see his passion roaring like a maelstrom.

Ian let his hard chest graze Kristina’s nipples. He felt her core grow wet and his skin dewed with streams of her sweet nectar. Ian released his hold on Kristina. He touched his thumb to her cheek as she gazed into his eyes. “Tell me what you want,” he heard himself say low and gravelly.

  “I want, you—.”

Kristina shuddered when the words rush out from inside her.

So many things had changed since Kristina and Ian knew each other. She had started a career in promotions. Ian had become something of an enigma to her. Kristina had heard of his software company, but she’d had no idea what happened to Ian after their family had separated and each of their parents had died. Ian was, different, now.

Ian’s hands roamed over Kristina’s body. She tried to pull away, but her heart held her feet firmly in the sand. Her legs felt wobbly and her breasts ached. Nothing mattered to her except to have Ian hold her. She reached up to Ian and she planted a kiss on his lips.

Ian’s heart surged with pride. She did want him. Years passed, and she was still his. Ian didn’t wait for Kristina to ask. He gathered her up into his arms and he walked her back to the surf.

Kristina didn’t speak. She knew she couldn’t and remain sane. She wanted Ian and realized she’d do anything he wanted, and everything that he commanded. Kristina wanted Ian to make her feel the way he did the first time they made passionate, soul-burning love.

  Chapter 10

Ian placed Kristina down carefully into the sand. The evening was dark enough now to shadow their bodies from prying eyes inside the spa.

Ian laid beside Kristina and he drew her close. Kristina’s body ached as she pulled Ian down on top her. His erection scratched her sensitive clit, threatening to force its way inside and claim her until she begged Ian to stop. Kristina wouldn’t. Nothing could tear them apart the way it had before; nothing matter but the two of them, wrapped in each other arms.

Kristina felt Ian lick her throat and she shuddered. His thick male tongue found her earlobe and he lathed there as his long, steady fingers searched her body, seeking her most secret erogenous places only he had ever found.

“Oh, my sweet Kris. You are the one—.” Ian dragged his lips from Kristina’s ear to her lips. He shoved his tongue into her mouth as he took her, repeating his adoration for her with his hands, as they closed around her sensitive flesh near her core.

“Wait. I want you to know I never wanted to you leave.” Kristina needed Ian to know he was her one love. She didn’t want another moment to pass without telling him that she wanted to bare her soul to him.

“Kristina, you are so beautiful. I’ve wanted you—this, forever.”

Ian tasted Kristina’s lips as he suckled each one, tenderly.

Kristina writhed in her stepbrother’s hands. All their past was forgotten. Kristina was ready. She was ready to receive Ian and she wanted him to take her now.

  “Kris, everythin
g will be different, now that I can take care of you. I have everything, now that I have you—.”

Ian stared as Kristina broke their kiss. He watched her sit up, and her entire body seemed to change. Something had happened between them just now. Ian didn’t know what it was.

  “Kris? Kristina? What is it?”

Kristina had come back to solid ground. She didn’t want a man to do for her. Everything she wanted she could get for herself. Everything except love. Kristina turned toward Ian. She tried to ignore his magnificent bronzed and hard body as she stared.

  “Take care of me?”

Ian blinked. The woman he’d waited to have was sitting in the sand bare naked, and she was angry with him. “Yes. Why?”

“You said things would be different. You meant, you have money. Why does everybody think money will solve everything—?” Kristina rose to her feet.

  Ian followed.

“No, it isn’t everything. When you have it, it can make the world your personal playground.” Ian watched Kristina turn on her heel. “Kris. Kristina, wait!”

“Is that what you want?” Kristina stared at her stepbrother. “Your own playground? Is that why you came and found me? You don’t want a person. You want a—plaything!”

  “That’s a lie!”

Ian dragged Kristina back into his arms. “I left because I had to. Our family was broken and nothing was going to change it. Then you and I found each other that night and, everything changed—.”

Kristina pulled away. Ian remembered everything that happened the same as she did, with one major difference. He had instigated them being together the first time. Now Kristina had done the same. She had wanted to show him she could be his equal. That she desired and wanted him as much as he wanted her, if not more.

“Kristina,” Ian said. “What is wrong?”

“What’s wrong is this. You. Me. We shouldn’t be together.” Kristina headed toward the spa.

Ian blocked Kristina’s way. She saw his naked sand drenched body. The effect made him look like a walking Poseidon with a very large trident, thought Kristina.

“You’re upset because you think I want to use you?” Ian broiled. “Is that it?”

“I want to know who you’ve become. Money didn’t used to be important to you. Love was. Tell me Ian,” Kristina said, realizing she was near her bikini top and bottom, “why did you come and find me?” Kristina started to dress.

“So many reasons. One of them was that I needed you to know” Ian ran and collected his stray clothes and he met up with Kristina.

“Really?” Kristina said. Know what?” Kristina demanded.

Ian didn’t know how else to say it. He looked at Kristina and took a deep breath.

  “Kris, I’m a billionaire.”

  Ian waited for Kristina’s reaction.

  “You’re what?”

Kristina knew Ian had changed. She didn’t want to believe it was money that had made him so self-assured, and so confident in himself. Ian’s dad had been confident with money; look what it got him?

  “You heard me.”

“Yeah, I heard you.” Kristina said. She put on her bikini top and Ian put on his khakis. “We’re not 15 and 18 anymore.”

Ian scowled. “You think this is what this is about? That I want you to prove some stupid macho credo? Like, I’ll never be like my father, or like our parents?”

Kristina faced Ian. “That isn’t what this is? What kind of man do you really think you are—?”

Kristina felt Ian’s heart sink. She could see the life ebb from him as if it had spilled out from his heart. She didn’t mean to say what she did. Sometimes her fear brought out the worse in her. “Ian? Ian, I’m sorry, I—.”

Ian held up his hand. “That’s okay.”

Ian stared Kristina. “You think I want you to prove I have power and that it comes from money, okay.” Ian closed the space between himself and Kristina.

“If money is all you believe I care about, why don’t you define this—?”

Ian wrapped his bronzed arms around Kristina and he shattered soul her with a soul-burning kiss.

  Epilogue

When Ian let Kristina come up for air, he waited for her reaction.

Kristina stared at him and her eyes watered. Ian couldn’t believe Kristina was close to tears.

“You still don’t understand. You’re a billionaire? Fine. What we shared Ian? Ian, it can never be.”

Kristina turned away silently vowing she would never see her stepbrother.

“You’re wrong. Run as hard as you can, Kristina Layne,” Kristina heard Ian say as she ran into the spa,” but you will be mine.”

Kristina reminded herself to ask for a room card from the concierge at the spa. She would go back to Georgia, get on with her life, and forget about Ian. It was the way things had to be.

“Keep running,” challenged Ian. “Before we’re through, you will beg me to make you mine.”

“When that day comes, you’ll take my name as Hastings-Knight and we’ll be together,” Kristina heard Ian say as she ran through spa.

“Fate joined us,” Ian whispered low. “Know this, Kristina Layne-Knight, you will be mine,” promised Ian.

“I will never let you go.”

  Prologue

I don't know why I keep thinking about him. Ian is unforgivably direct, insufferably confident, and every time I think about him—.

Ooh, he makes my blood boil!

Kristina flung her suitcase and her bags onto the floor in front of the desk of Sur Elegante spa lobby.

She told Ian he was crazy saying the things he did. How was she supposed to tell him how she really felt when he dragged her into his arms and told he wanted to make mad passionate monkey love with her?

He was her stepbrother, for gosh sakes. What was she supposed to do? Declare her love for him in the picture postcard setting of a spa resort on the beach, and then suddenly they'd romp off into the sunset like a couple madly in love?

Like she was supposed to fall all over Ian, confessing her undying affection for him—when he knew they were brother and sister. Kristina didn't care whether her father and his mother had divorced; she and Ian were still family.

  That was why
leaving him hurt so much...and if she thought about the feel of his lips on her sun ripened skin when they were in Miami another minute, Kristina feared her sense of moral fiber would poof into smoke.

She had already decided to give up her second week of her vacation stay. Thinking about Ian and his warm hands roaming over her body had driven so mad, she thought her heart might explode!
