The Wild in her Eyes Page 36

by Karina Giörtz

No book would be complete without a gorgeous cover, and thanks to Regina Wamba, this book has just that. The way she managed to capture the essence of Annis’s tale is more than I could have hoped for and I can’t wait to see this beauty in print!

Sending a book out into the world can be a scary thing. Having wonderful author friends willing to read your book first to take the edge off said fear, is awesome. So, thank you, S.A. Hussey and Debi Matlack for being those first eyes, for sharing those first thoughts, and catching those pesky typos that always slip through, no matter how many edits and proofreads are done.

Speaking of proofreads, I must mention the amazing Barb Piper, who comes through without fail in the last minutes, under pressure, regardless of how crazy my deadline, to proof my manuscripts. Thank you for enabling my ‘best under pressure’ operating style and always having my back in all things typos.

Zeke, I know you’re waiting on that Beemer. I’m working on it.

Ella. My heart. My daily motivation. My proof of magic.

And you. The reader. No story would be complete, without an audience to join in and enjoy.

Did you love The Wild in her Eyes? Then you should read Bittersweet by K.S. Thomas!

Esi is young, beautiful and smart. She's got it all...and then some, but it's not what you'd expect.

Seven years after fate has her colliding - literally - with the man of her dreams, the two finally find themselves walking down the aisle. The day couldn't be more perfect. For one shining moment in time, she has it all.

Then a tragic accident changes everything.

Getting married was supposed to be the final touch on their already blissful relationship, but after the car crash, nothing seems right anymore. Soon after they get home from the hospital, Esi discovers she's pregnant. However, after the extensive damages her heart has endured from the night of the traumatic wreck, this miracle of life brings with it the reality of death.

Now Esi and Carter both have to face facts. Someone might not survive.

While ever after may not be as happy as Esi has always hoped, she's learning to appreciate the beauty in strength and surviving, and finding that love, no matter how true or how complete, sometimes is simply bittersweet.

  About the Author

The stereotypical writer through and through, I find hiding out alone in my office, cut off from society where I can pursue my obsessive compulsions in peace & carry on uninterrupted conversations with my imaginary friends while I sip coffee, to be all the rage.

  I like people too.

  The real ones.

But I'm shy and often awkward, so I don't show it well (unless you're my kid, then I'm like, hug central - but you're probably not so...).

If we meet - please don't hold this against me.

I should tell you, while my one, single, solitary novel may not show it, it's actually year seven in my publishing career, and I've just entered my third author life.

Previously, I've been a genre jumping story chaser, as well as a committed contemporary romance junky (our addictions may have crossed - I'm known as K.S. Thomas in those circles and you may find my long list of romantic fixes at www.authorksthomas.com).

This next life, I'm tackling as myself - Karina Giörtz. No pen name. No set genre. No game plan.

  It's exciting.

  And scary.

  And I'm nervous.

But I'm told you need those...nerves. They let you know when you’re growing, taking chances, becoming more. If you don’t feel the rattle of your teeth between your jaws every now and again, you’re not living right. Hell, you’re probably not living at all.
