Charlene gazed at her new husband. “But don’t you see? It’s not up to you, honey. Your child will have a hero for a father. That may inspire them to do heroic things. Maybe pursue a military career whether you approve or not. No matter what, he or she will change the world in some way. Maybe he’ll be president, or a great statesman, or maybe a good parent and hard worker.”
Relic’s gaze softened and he pulled his wife close. “And what will we be?”
Charlene kissed the tips of his fingers, staring into his eyes, not seeing his scars, only his soul.
“Happy. We will be happy.”

Notes from Lisa
No gun shots. Nobody kidnapped. No explosions. Who knew I could write a story like that? Not me! I hope you enjoyed this sweet story, the second half of Charlene and Relic’s adventure. All of you who requested it, I hope I did it justice for you.
If you haven’t seen the first half of their story, it is here, in Charlene’s Soldier.
If you haven’t read me before but liked this story, please, try one of my other books (may I suggest Edge of the Heat) or connect with me on facebook.
Thank you to M.S. Parker for including me in her kindle world for Club Privé. What fun and what an honor!!
