“Are you paying attention beautiful girl?” Enri broke into her thoughts, causing her to drop her concentration.
“I’m trying over here.”
“Try harder.”
Enri wound his arm around her waist, and tugged her to him.
“You’ve got this. The hard part is over, now. Breathe deep and expand your reach.”
Yewa pulled in a deep breath, and with Enri supporting her, she did what he asked.
She ushered in the dawn.
A light was cast brightly across the spectrum of the cosmos before her. She didn’t know what the others would say, but she knew they’d be happy. This was a step in the right direction. To bring light to others ensured Yewa’s own way of creating her own.
“Now that we have light, we’re one step closer to victory,” Enri whispered against the shell of her ear, before turning her in his arms to kiss her deeply.
Which meant as long as they had each other, there was nothing they couldn’t defeat.
