She licked her lips and shook her head, her eyes following his progress as Victor pressed kisses down the length of her torso. He settled his shoulders between her legs and ran his tongue between her swollen pussy lips, tasting her like it was the first time. He slipped a finger inside her and thrust rhythmically as he pulsed her clit between his beautiful lips, until her hips were moving in time to a symphony only they could hear.
He could have happily feasted on her pussy for days. It was perfect, she was perfect. Fucking hell, but her pussy actually tasted sweet, like peaches and honey and something that was uniquely her. He could barely remember his life before Valentina, but, yeah, he had gotten plenty of women off with his mouth and he knew for a fact he was good at it. But it had never been something he particularly craved on its own. But Valentina was something else entirely and he couldn’t get enough of the feel of her, the taste of her. Sweet fucking pussy. Damn.
When her moans became more urgent and her hips began to move frantically, he knew it was time to bear down and pick up the pace. He added a second finger and pumped them hard, aiming for the bundle of nerves he could feel just inside her, and sucked her clit between his lips as he worked it relentlessly with the tip of his tongue. Her legs abruptly tightened around his head, her hips bucking wildly as the orgasm rolled through her. He waited until she came down from the high before he rose up over her and thrust for home. With her impaled on his cock, he lifted onto his knees and pounded into her like a madman until she succumbed to another orgasm.
He bared his teeth as the base of his spine began to tingle. He groaned mindlessly as waves of pleasure overtook him, pulsing through his body as he emptied his seed into her. He stared down at her as the orgasm slowly receded, his chest heaving as his cock continued to jerk with aftershocks.
He would put a baby in her. She would bear his children. He would fuck her over and over again to see that she did.
When they finished, she curled up against his side, utterly boneless and sated. Caught in that languid state somewhere between sleep and wakefulness, he almost didn’t catch the sleepy words she whispered against his skin. “Victor…no clowns to decorate the nursery, okay? I’m terrified of them.” Her body stiffened next to him and her voice quavered as she added, “Not that I’m agreeing to anything. I’m just sayin’. You know. Just in case.”
He stroked her hair, not bothering to hide the smile that touched his lips. Her candor was a good sign, he thought; a sign that on some level she was starting to accept her new life as a cartel woman and, more importantly, his woman.
“Don’t fuck with me, Juanita. You’re up to something and I want to know what it is.”
Juanita jerked her head up, freeing her chin from her husband’s grip as she glared at him defiantly. “You’re overreacting, Ricardo, the same way I’m sure your son is.”
Her defiance shot straight to his cock, sending a jolt of sexual heat through every nerve in his body. “That’s a good girl, fight me, I fucking love it.”
He stripped her of her shirt, bra and jeans, then with one hand shredded her panties and threw them on the floor like the inconvenience they were. Within seconds, he was out of his own clothes and had thrown her over his shoulder. He tossed her on the bed, flipping her onto her hands and knees before yanking her back toward him by her hips. He positioned the head of his cock at her entrance and ignored her attempts to scramble away from his firm hold as he slammed into her on a powerful downward thrust. The fight abruptly went out of her as she gave as good as she got, pushing her hips back to meet his, her greedy pussy gripping him as her walls tightened around him. He brought out her best, her worst, and everything in between.
He reached his hands around her to rub her clit and knead her breast, knowing well that the combination of sensations always sent her reeling. “Mine. Fucking mine,” he groaned, his voice agonized. He pistoned into her hot depths, roaring his pleasure as he let his climax release the heat that seemed to simmer just below the surface every day of his life at the mere thought of this woman.
Moments later, Ricardo reached over to the nightstand, pulled a cigarette from an open pack, placing it between his lips. “You gonna tell me what happened?” he asked, his words slightly muffled, the cigarette quivering as he spoke. Cupping his hands around the lighter, he lit the cigarette and took a deep pull from it, cutting his narrowed eyes at her shrewdly as he leaned back against the headboard and blew out a steady stream of smoke.
“The FBI is what happened. Must have been a slow day for Turner to have nothing better to do than follow two women out shopping. You should have seen his partner trying not to fangirl all over Valentina. I thought she was going to ask for an autograph.”
“Really. Interesting. I’ll find out what’s going on. I can promise you they weren’t out for a joyride. Turner never does anything without a reason.”
“Should we be worried?”
He worked his cigarette for a while, lost in thought. Finally, he shrugged, and his gruff chuckle brought a smile to her face. “Would it do any good to worry, my beautiful Rubia?”
“No. That never accomplishes anything.”
“Exactly,” he said as took a last drag and put the cigarette out. “Now, you know me, I’m a man of action. I’ll check in with the man we have on the inside now and find out what’s going on so we can get ahead of this thing. We don’t want any past sins coming back to haunt us.”
“Well,” she said silkily as she pressed a kiss over his heart before moving down to press a kiss on the head of his cock. “You know me, love, I’m on board with whatever you need. It’s all about family and cartel for me.”
“That’s what I love about you, Rubia,” he said, his voice thick in his throat as he struggled to string two words together. Fuck, but this woman’s tongue was pure magic. “Ahh…you are truly…the most fearless woman I’ve ever known.”
“Are you sure that’s all you love about me?” she teased coyly before pressing the tip of her tongue into his slit to collect a delicious drop of pre-cum.
Ricardo gripped the back of her head as she wrapped her lips around his swollen hood. “You know better than that. Now suck my cock, woman.”
Chapter Twenty One
“So…do you want to tell me what you’re up to, David?”
“It’s Agent Turner at work.”
“We’re not at work. We’re sitting in an alley eating lunch.”
“I think you’d argue about anything. What do you want to know?”
“You’ve changed. I want to know why.”
“I’ll never change where you’re concerned.” He gave her a long, steady look, hoping she understood that whatever he was up to would never affect what they shared.
She set her food down on her lap and leaned her head back against the headrest. Turning her head toward him, she said, “Listen, we’ve been working this case for a few weeks now and haven’t come up with anything solid to go on. But that’s not it; something’s different about you. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t like it. I know you well enough to know you’re hiding something from me.” She arched an eyebrow and pressed her lips into a flat line. “I won’t tolerate that sort of thing. Do you not trust me? I don’t care what it is, well, unless it’s another woman…”
“There’s no other woman, never has been, never will be.”
“Then what? Just tell me already. You’re making me crazy.”
His expression reflected his resolve in the decisions he was making—rather, being forced to make, or so he thought. It was time to come clean. “Okay. The way I see it, I’ve spent the last two decades and then some, being an honest law man. I’ve walked the line. But for what, a pension and a gold watch? I’m thinking maybe it’s time to secure some insurance.” He waited, watching her. Okay, so far, so good. “We’ve always seen things in terms of black and white, right or wrong. Maybe it’s time to go a little gray. If we’re careful, we can secure our future without crossing lines or breaking the law.”

nbsp; Even though Rene felt some reservations about what he was saying, they were partners and she didn’t want to shut him down so she continued to listen.
“I think we can have some leverage over the organized crime groups that are going straight.”
“Wait. Are you talking about extortion?”
“No. I’m talking insurance. I’m talking having information that could put people in prison. We don’t use it unless we need to. We are the only people who can rattle the skeletons in their closets and raise the ghosts of their pasts from the dead. That’s true power. It would be a shame to waste it.”
“Why would we ever need that? None of these guys has anything on us.”
“Times change and so do circumstances. Did you see that other black SUV that was following the women?”
“Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many black SUVs on the same road before.”
“He was following them. Now I don’t know why, what I do know is if we save a Ramirez woman from peril then the Colombian cartel will owe us a favor. We may need to call in that favor someday—like I said: insurance.”
Even though she knew they didn’t need insurance at this point in their careers, it didn’t mean the day wouldn’t come when they did. Maybe David had a point, maybe having an ace in the hole wasn’t such a bad idea.
“So, what do we do?” Rene asked, curious now about where he was going with this plan.
“I’ve got the license plate of the man who was following them. We find out who he is, why he’s following them, and then we come in and rescue them from the big, bad wolf.”
“We don’t know for sure that guy was following them.”
“Oh, I know he was, I just don’t know why yet.”
Chapter Twenty Two
He beat his fists against the steering wheel, screaming at the top of his lungs. “Damn it, damn it, damn it!” He knew whoever was in the other black SUV was following her too. Who was it? Did she have another lover? How could she?
He hadn’t counted on things becoming so complicated, but he should have known. When dealing with Colombian cartel, things were never what they seemed. Trouble had a way of rearing its ugly head at the most inopportune times.
He needed to keep his head. If he stayed focused he could get the girl and take her out of the country. If he was careful, people would assume she was dead and, eventually, blame Ramirez. Then he could have her all to himself.
Getting to her was the problem. She was walled in like fucking Fort Knox. Even the cartel knew the treasure they had in their midst and Victor Ramirez wasn’t going to let his jewel go. But he wasn’t worried about that. He was a patient man.
“We need to talk.” Juanita’s gaze narrowed as she regarded the three men in Ricardo’s office.
Victor was the first to speak. “I don’t like the idea of my fiancé being brought into this.” His eyes were cold and direct when he looked at Valentina standing next to his mother. He was glad his mother liked the woman he intended to marry, but even he knew how easily his mother and aunt could stir up trouble.
“It’s a little late for that, don’t you think? She’s already knee deep in this shit. It’s better for her to go in with her eyes open than to be blindsided because you were overprotective, son. Turner and Murphy weren’t the only ones following us today, either. There was another black SUV. I wasn’t able to get a tag number because of the agents, and the windows were tinted far beyond what’s legal. But l don’t think it was another FBI agent.” She glanced at Valentina. “I think it was Valentina’s stalker. Now, normally I wouldn’t be worried about some overzealous stalker but I don’t think that’s the case here. Whoever this is somehow knew she was here early on and had the resources to follow her from Guatemala – enough resources to buy a ticket, rent a car and probably rent a room somewhere nearby. He’s also not stupid because he’s stayed off the property, so he’s bound to know that Valentina’s heavily protected.”
“Where are you going with this?” Victor asked.
“The only we’re going to take this guy down is to set him up.” She could see the tick in Victor’s jaw and she knew what it meant. “I’m not talking about putting Valentina in a dangerous situation, Victor. Let’s get a proxy, someone to stand in for her. We’ll set a trap and let him abduct her. We can put a tracking device in her purse or sew it into her clothes so we don’t lose her--”
“Way ahead of you there,” Victor drawled, raising his eyebrows at the scathing look he got from Valentina.
“Of course, I should have known, considering who your father is,” Juanita shot back with a heated glance at her husband, who simply smiled benignly back at her. “Anyway, we’ll set him up and then we’ll take his ass down. Until we kill him, Valentina’s not safe.”
Ricardo looked at his brother who hadn’t said anything up until now. “What’s your take on this, Antonio?”
“I think if we use Juanita and Roxanne, we can pull it off. They’re professional and able to take care of themselves. They’re highly trained. I say go for it.”
“Neither one of us looks remotely like Valentina.”
“Take her with you and then switch her over to another car. One of you puts on a black wig and he doesn’t know he’s been tricked until it’s too late.”
“I like it. Make it happen,” Ricardo said, reminded once again that kidnapping that woman of his was the smartest thing he’d ever done.
Chapter Twenty Three
Roxanne turned in the mirror, trying not to laugh at her reflection. “This is ridiculous. I don’t look anything like you, Valentina. This black wig looks hideous on me.”
Juanita answered for her. “All that red hair has got to be kept under wraps, so the wig is a must, I’m afraid. Besides, you’re closer to her size than I am. I’m thicker where it counts, baby.” She smacked her own ass to emphasize her point, much to the amusement of the group.
“Yeah, you’ve got curves in all the right places. We all know Latin men like a little junk in the trunk.” That sent the girls into another fit of laughter.
When Valentina turned toward the door, she saw Victor standing in the doorway glaring at her.
“You. Come here.” He crooked his finger and she glanced apologetically back at her new friends before walking over to him. He took her by the arm and pulled her into his chest, pressing her back into the wall, uncaring that they had an audience. His hands hungrily roamed her curves as he buried his face in her hair and inhaled deeply.
“I don’t like this, baby, not one damn bit. It would kill me to lose you.”
She wrapped her arms around him, the urge to fight pushed aside for the moment in favor of clinging to this man. For the first time, she was glad for the tracking device he’d placed in her shoulder. At first, she’d thought it was a little over the top -- okay, a lot over the top -- to go to such an extreme. But the longer she was with the Ramirez family, the more she became convinced that drastic times called for drastic measures. If any family lived on the cusp of danger it was this one. Better safe than sorry was quickly becoming her new motto.
“I’ll be back before you know it.” She nodded in Juanita and Roxanne’s direction. “I think we both know how lethal those two are. I’ll be safe with them. I don’t want you worrying.”
“It comes with the territory,” he said gruffly as he continued nuzzling her neck and smelling her hair. “There’s no way around it in this life.” He kissed her. He couldn’t help but wonder if it would be the last time he did. He pulled her back by her shoulders, looked down at her for a long moment, then leaned down and pressed his lips softly to her forehead. There was more emotion in that tender gesture than most people shared in a lifetime.
“Mom,” he said softly, his eyes not leaving Valentina’s face, “I’m entrusting you with my whole world. Guard her with your life.”
“You know I will, son.” She stood on her tiptoes and kissed her son’s cheek.
“If that bastard harms one hair on her head or anyone else’
s – even if it’s just a wig,” he said with a glance over at Roxanne, “I will hunt him down and there will be nothing left but scorched earth when I’m done.”
“Understood,” his mother said with a nod. “All right, ladies, let’s get this party started. We’ve got a stalker to catch.” There was that look again in Juanita’s eye, the look of take-no-prisoners. Valentina wasn’t dealing with soap opera beauties anymore, now she was in the cartel and these women might be beautiful, but they were also deadly femme fatales.
The women hurried out to the SUV to beat the rain that was beginning to come down. Roxanne slid into the backseat and sent a snarky look up front as she buckled her seatbelt. “Keep it between the ditches, Juanita. Remember last time.”
Juanita huffed as she started the car and pulled away from the house. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m an excellent driver.”
Roxanne smiled benignly and looked out the window.
“So, how can we be sure he’s going to follow me?” Valentina looked back and forth at the women from her seat up front.
“He’ll have to, you’re a compulsion—he won’t be able to resist giving in to his stalker nature,” Juanita replied confidently. Valentina wondered how she knew so much about stalker behavior. She knew one thing for sure: Victor was teaching her more about obsession than she’d ever wanted to know.
Valentina grabbed onto the handle above the car door as Juanita took a hard turn. Maybe Roxanne was onto something. All Valentina knew was that she was ready for this whole stalker nightmare to be over. She couldn’t help but wonder who the stalker was. The hardest part of it all was the guilt—feeling like she had done something to spur on the mental meanderings of a crazy man. How could she know if she’d done anything wrong when she didn’t even know who he was? Another sharp turn had Valentina clenching the handle again and pressing a hand over her churning stomach.
