"You first." Brianna told the nanny and they walked through the hallway.
The hallway was dimly lit with dark walls and looked very luxurious and secretive. After walking straight, a dead end was arrived at, with no where to turn.
Mrs. Winchester then lifted a very thin lid, which was invisible and covered a keypad. She then put in a code and then a secret door was yet again revealed.
Brianna could not believe that she did not know about this place.
The door opened automatically by sliding up and revealing a secret lair. It was very cool and the nanny walked down the three stairs which led you inside of the lair. Expensive dark hard wood floors were used and the place reeked of expense. Expensive hardware was everywhere including cameras and a huge screen which had locations and tracking devices were seen.
Brianna and Josh looked around the place in amazement.
A sudden yet soft click sound was made and Brianna snapped her head towards the nanny.
"What did you just do?" Brianna glared at the woman who had betrayed them.
She had pressed a small button on the desk, hoping Brianna and Josh would not have seen her.
"I- I" she said dumbfounded.
"Guess what." Brianna said smiling causing the woman to look frightened.
"Ashley's dead, and so are you." Brianna said and in one swift movement raised her gun, removed the safety and shot the nanny straight in the chest.
"Josh, look for anything you can on the computer about Ashley and Antonio." Brianna told Josh and he did so immediately.
Brianna, in the meantime, searched through hardcopy documents which Ashley had sprawled out on her desk.
After half an hour of searching, Brianna laid her eyes on something which would ruin Antonio's plans.
She then went to look at what Josh had found out about Antonio.
"With all the dirt we have on Antonio, we will end him once and for all." Brianna said and they exited the secret lair.
When they got out of the lair, Brianna changed into black jeans, with a black inner top and a black leather jacket. She put her hair up into a bun and put on shades. She then headed into her dad's room and opened the safe which she knew the password to. She removed a black handgun from the safe and put it in the gun holder which she then attached to her pants.
She then got a bag and put an extra gun in it, along with her Macbook Air 13 with a gold cover and she put the thumb drive in it.
"Ready?" she asked Josh who nodded his head.
She then went to the garage with her boyfriend following her. She then took the keys to the 2017 black Jaguar XF and handed it to her boyfriend.
"Think you can handle this beauty?" she asked him with a smirk on her face.
"You bet." he said and opened the door for his girlfriend who sat in the passenger seat. He closed to for her and then got into the drivers seat.
Soon, they were driving off at full speed to find Antonio and Aubrey.
Brianna had her laptop on and was trying to locate Antonio.
Josh's phone began to ring and he answered, putting it on speaker.
"Why?" Josh asked, and a dark chuckle was heard.
"Why? You were supposed to be dead. I didn't mean to shoot your mother." he said, causing Josh to grip the steering wheel tighter.
"Josh, I killed you real father not long after you were born and seduced your mother into marrying me. I was the sweet and kind Mr. Armstrong who was barely home. I was the only father you ever knew. It's just a pity how things have changed." he said calmly.
"Where's Aubrey?" Brianna erupted the heart to heart Josh was having with Antonio.
"Ahh. There's the girl who started this whole mess." Antonio said and the veil smirk in his voice could be heard and envisioned by Brianna who wished that she was in front of him to wipe it off his pathetic face.
"I'm going to finish your father off and maybe if I'm nice enough,Aubrey won't be killed." he said.
"Don't you touch either of them. I have what you want."Brianna said, trying to negotiate.
"And what would that be?" he said sounding vaguely interested.
"All the files you and Ashley have which could end your illegal activities once and for all." Brianna said, sounding like a top dog on a case.
"What?" he asked confused.
"Oh yeah, and your "wife" is dead." Bree informed him.
"Josh, your poor mummy died. She was worthless anyway." Antonio responded causing Josh's face to turn stone cold.
"She's not referring to my mother. She's talking about that stupid nanny you hired for her." Josh said angrily and hung up the phone.
"Got it?" Josh asked Bree glancing at her for a quick second.
"Got it. I can see all the messages he has on his phone and I was able to track his location. He's heading to.....the hospital." Brianna said and her face turned pale.
"He's going to finish the job" Josh said and continued speeding up, way past the speed limit.
"I'm sending this information to a detective as we speak. I'll also call the cops to look out for Antonio and ensure that there is enough security watching your mom and my dad. We need to ensure that they are safe. He's most likely to go after my dad because of the case." Brianna told her boyfriend.
Fifteen minutes later, Josh pulled up at the hospital and parked in the hospital's underground parking for visitors.
"Bree, can you guarantee that everything will be fine after this and that sick bastard will be imprisoned?" Josh asked Bree.
"Josh, I can't even guarantee this plan working out, or getting through it alive. But I can guarantee that I will do my best because I love you so much and would love to go on that long awaited date with you." Brianna said smiling.
She then put her laptop in her bag and left the car, with Josh holding her hands. Brianna's hand trembled as she was nervous. She did not know what would happen next as she was only a teenager who was caught up in this because of evil people in the world.
They entered the elevator and pressed number 16.
It was on level ten when it stopped and three men who wore the hospital's uniform entered the elevator.
Josh looked at Brianna and gulped in fear. These men were huge and did not look like nurses or doctors.
The doors of the elevator closed and began going up and one of the men pressed level 34. The elevator continued going up and was on level 14 when it suddenly stopped. The men turned back to look at Brianna and Josh with evil glints in their eyes. Brianna took out her gun and pointed it at the men.
"So, who wants to die first?" she asked and the men were taken aback by her approach.
One of the brave men decided to launch at Brianna, only to be kicked and thrown on a side by Josh, who began punching him.
The other headed for Josh but froze when he heard a loud BANG! The gun went off but did not injure him. Instead, Brianna shot the camera in the elevator.
" This time, I'm aiming for you." she said, pointing the gun at him. Josh was standing on top of the first guy who had attempted to attack his girlfriend.
He did not dare move, neither did his other partner.
"Now, start this elevator before I blow your brains out." Brianna said and the one closest did so without hesitation.
The elevator chimed, signalling their stop and it opened its doors.
"You, come with us." Brianna said, directed at the only guy in the elevator who had not gotten an opportunity to attack them.
"Which room is my father in?" Brianna asked him.
"Room 345." he said.
"Is Antonio in the room?" Josh asked disgusted.
" I don't know." he responded and trembled as Brianna pushed the gun in his back.
Suddenly, a gun shot was heard and the guy fell down with a thud.
"Brianna! Why did you do that?" Josh asked shocked.
"It wasn't me." she responded exasperated and shocked.
Josh and Brianna turned around slowly, and gasped in horror.
"If I were you, I would dr
op that gun." Antonio said and had his gun pointing at Josh.
"If you shoot him, I will kill you." Brianna growled out in anger.
"You're getting on my nerves now. I guess you don't want to see your best friend alive." Antonio threatened and Bree immediately dropped the gun.
"That's a good girl. Now, both of you, turn around and walk to room 135." Antonio demanded.
Josh looked at Bree with emotions that she herself could not understand. They then walked to the room and Josh pushed it open.
"Aubrey!" Bree shouted and ran to her best friend who was tied up on the floor and her mouth taped.
Bree immediately removed the tape from Aubrey's mouth and helped remove the rope.
Josh's mother was lying on the bed sound asleep in the hospital gown. Her face was a bit pale and the monitor showed her heart rate.
"Where's my father?" Brianna asked, annoyed at Antonio.
"Give me the files first." Antonio asked.
"Stop playing games with me. We've come to the end of this little battle. It's over. Show me my dad and I will give you the files and you can pretend this whole ordeal never happened." Brianna said.
"Very well then." he said and the door opened, with James being pushed into the room, with two men holding him firmly.
"Dad!" Bree cried out, happy to see her father. He had a few minor bruises on his face but otherwise looked fine.
"Is this case really worth your daughter's life? Just drop it. I will always win as you have a lot to lose. I have nothing." Antonio said with stone cold eyes.
"Fine. I'll drop the case." James said, causing Antonio to smile as he had defeated one of the most prominent lawyers in the States.
"Good boy." Antonio said smiling and tapping him on his cheek like he was a puppy.
The two men then let go of James and left the room.
Antonio was about to leave but then turned to look at Brianna.
"Before I forget , can I have the file?" he demanded.
Brianna was about to give it to him when a loud gun shot was heard and he fell to the ground, gripping his shoulder and crying out in pain.
"That's for almost killing me." Mrs.Armstrong said, causing everyone to look at her in shock.
"Mom?" Josh exclaimed astounded.
The door suddenly broke down and police officers flooded the room, arresting Antonio, who's still crying out in pain.
"I was an undercover agent. I work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). I was wearing a bullet proof vest when he shot me. I could not reveal my identity to you guys early as it risked compromising the case." Mrs.Armstrong said.
"Dad, Ashley kept a secret lair in the house with all the files needed to put Antonio in jail and shut down all his legal activities." Brianna informed her father.
He hugged her, happy that she was okay and so proud of his daughter for her bravery.
Aubrey was still a bit shocked but she was relieved that this was all over and that she could go back to her normal life.
They all exited the room and were interrogated by police officers who needed to know everyone's side of the story.
________later that evening__________
"I'm so glad this is all over. I still can't believe my mom was an undercover agent. That fake blood she used and how she planned this out still has me confused." Josh said in amazement.
"Yeah, me too. I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Brianna told Josh sincerely, "I understand if you don't want to be with me again."
"Wait a minute. Who said anything about me not wanting to be with you. I have a girlfriend who can fight and shoot , protecting me and who loves me to death. I stood by your side. I'm never going to leave you." Josh said embracing his girlfriend.
"Good." she said and snuggled into his chest.
"Were you honestly going to give Antonio the files?" Josh asked intrigued.
"No, did you honestly believe I would give him the files to end his case?" she asked Josh, smirking.
"Then, what's on the thumb drive?" he asked curiously.
"Let's find out." Brianna said and inserted it into her Macbook.
A file opened with a picture of a little boy. The file was filled with beautiful pictures. Pictures of Ashley and her son Bryan together with James.
There was also this precious picture of Bryan, Brianna, James and Ashley, the day of the trip to Merida. The day before everything changed and the last day of the family truly being together.
Tears threatened to fall from Brianna's eyes.
"Don't worry Bree. We'll make beautiful memories like these. We've gone through so much and soon, we'll have a life of our own." Josh said, kissing his girlfriend sweetly.
