“Let’s see here…” He slid his finger between the bracelet and her clammy, moist arm and felt for the release. There was a click and the multi-colored lure came undone. “There we go.” He looked at her again. “Free to go.”
You idiot! What do you mean ‘free to go’? Strangely, the voice in his head sounded like Soph’s. Of all the times he needed her around…
The Felicity – who still hadn’t said a word – watched in surprise as the colors disappeared the moment Yoshi closed his fingers around the lure. “It’s pretty, I know. Even my girlfriend thought so.” Yoshi looked back over his shoulder. Even standing there with her feet soaked in mud, looking lost and slightly upset, Starry looked breathtaking.
“You’re not like the other trainers.” Felicity murmured. Yoshi blinked. The Felicity finally spoke. Her voice was deeper and sultry, not as high-pitched as Carl’s Felicities. “When my sisters get caught, most get thrown back into the water.” She turned and stood side on to the lake, cutting a sensuous profile against the moon. “They say the trainers are mean. That they don’t want them.” Starry appeared by Yoshi’s side. She was trying to get the wild girlfriend’s attention but the Felicity only had eyes for Yoshi.
“All the water-types say that I need to be careful because I can do this–” The Felicity closed her eyes. Her skin mimicked the bracelet’s light show, a fractured rainbow rolling over the lake and the bank. Starry cleared her throat, nudged Yoshi in the ribs and he closed his mouth. She opened her eyes and the shining stopped. “I know better than to engage with trainers, but…” Her eyes trailed down to Yoshi’s fist.
“You can’t have it,” Starlotte snapped. The Felicity looked at the interstellar-type, as if just noticing she was standing there.
“Starry!”
“You can’t have it,” Starry repeated firmly, ignoring Yoshi.
“Is he a good trainer?” The Felicity asked.
“What?”
“Yoshi, that’s your name right?” The water-type asked. He nodded dumbly when she looked at him. She turned back to face Starry. “Is Yoshi a good trainer?”
Starry looked at him, her dark hair falling across her cheekbone. “Yes, he is. He looks after me.”
Yoshi glanced across at her, not knowing what to say. In the end, he put his arm around her, giving her shoulder a squeeze.
Felicity watched the awkward exchange, a smile playing across her lips. “Is he a good lover?”
Starry and Yoshi stared at her, shell-shocked.
“Is he a good lover?” she repeated.
Starry’s skin started to get warmer through her thin, silk blouse. “I… umm… he…”
“You guys haven’t done it yet,” Felicity stated matter-of-factly.
“No!”
“Yes…”
Starlotte and Yoshi looked at each other, mortified.
The Felicity chuckled. “Usually the trainer lies.” She looked at Yoshi, green light pulsing gently from her skin. “What did you do to make her so loyal to you, hm?”
He stared at her. Only moments ago he had been trying - like a massive idiot - to release her back to the wild, despite needing a water-type to have any chance of beating the Onyx Gym. That wasn’t even to mention that she was a Shiny. He could have traded her to that tub of lard or sold her directly to his clients and his money problems would be over for the rest of his journey, not that that had even crossed his mind.
In the space of several minutes, the tables had turned in the most spectacular way. Why on earth was she asking about my non-existent sex life? What the hell was she getting at? Yoshi looked down at her breasts again. The shirt had dried somewhat, but he could still see her nipples poke through when she shifted the weight between her feet.
“It gets boring down there,” she said, looking back towards the lake. “I think it’s time to go on an adventure.”
“Wait…” Yoshi said, slowly. “Are you saying…?”
“Kiss her,” the Felicity commanded.
“Huh?”
“You heard what I said.” She gestured at a stunned Starry with her eyes. “Kiss her. Your girlfriend.”
“Why?”
The Felicity crossed her arms, pushing her boobs up. “If I’m going to go with a trainer, I want to know that he is at least a good kisser.”
“Wait, come with–?”
Small hands clasped his face and pulled him down. His mouth mashed clumsily with Starry’s. Her tongue probed his lips until they relaxed, letting it slide in. Unlike the first time they kissed, this one was hungrier and more insistent.
“Are you going to let your girlfriend do all the work?” Felicity purred.
Fuck it. Whether she was going to come with him or not, Yoshi was beyond caring. If this wild girlfriend wanted a free show, he was going to give it to her. Starry squeaked as he pulled her closer against his body. He pressed his growing erection flat against her stomach. It was like a wiener sandwiched between two human-sized pieces of bread. His other hand caressed and massaged the back of her neck. His tongue began moving on its own, meeting her’s before exploring her mouth.
“OK, that’s enough.” Yoshi and Starry stayed lip-locked. The Felicity pushed her hands between them and separated them. “I said that’s enough.” Starry almost lost her balance, a dazed look on her face. Yoshi tore his eyes away from his girlfriend and looked at the Felicity, who was glowing yellow.
“Happy?”
“Your technique needs some work, but the passion is there. That’s all that matters at the end of the day,” the Felicity said.
The three of them stood there, looking at one another. Finally, the Felicity put her hand out to Yoshi.
“What’s this?” Yoshi asked.
The Felicity raised an eyebrow. “You’re meant to put a ring on it.”
“Oh.” Yoshi felt around for a blank ring. “Here we… oops.” It slipped out of his fingertips into the darkness and got swallowed by the dirt. “I’ll get another one.” He took another one out, carefully lining it up with her index finger. Without hesitating, he slid it on. The Felicity shattered into blue light, imploding towards the ring on her hand. Moments later, The ring sat in the middle of Yoshi’s palm, winking in the moonlight.

“I knew you could do it,” Starry said breathlessly. He looked at her; she had already fixed up her hair and made herself as presentable as possible. She’d need a shower and change of clothes at Mr. Pampers though.
“I couldn’t have done it without you,” he said, smiling at her. First Sophie and now a Shiny Felicity? Lightning had struck twice.
He focused on her ring and her stats popped up:

He slotted her ring into the third slot. He then bent down picking out bits of rock and dirt until he found the blank ring that he dropped. Kneeling next to the lake, he dipped it in the water and scrubbed the mud off.
“I can’t believe no one saw that,” Yoshi said. He did a quick count around the lake. As far as he knew, they were all still there. Maybe they were grinding in preparation for their turn at the Onyx Gym. Or perhaps they were ‘grinding’.
“Soph should be ready by now. She might already be looking for us,” Starry said.
Yoshi strode back across the bank and collected her in a hug. “Sorry about before.”
“What happened before?”
“The kiss and…”
She giggled. “Firstly, I kissed you. Secondly, I enjoyed it. Thirdly, I’m glad you did too.”
Yoshi gripped her shoulders gently. “Now that we’ve got Felicity, that’s one more girlfriend who can share EXP with you.”
She nodded and tried to smile. “I just wish…”
“Hey, don’t worry. You’ll learn an offensive move soon. I told you that I would help you get stronger. I mean it.”
She looked away. “OK.”
“Alright, let’s head back now. I know you guys didn’t actually battle, but the least I can give you both is a bit of free pampering.” She nodded, her small, cute smile returning. Sand and stones crunched beneath their feet as they made their way back to the path that led to Onyx.
“Not so fast.”
Yoshi froze. “Who’s there?” He knew the voice. Dread started to seep into his pores.
Shadows slid and shifted by the rod hire shack.
“You’re wrong, ya runt. Someone did see that.” He stepped out, his expansive waist wobbling with each step. “I saw that. I saw all of it.”
“What are you doing back here?” Yoshi asked warily.
“You can never keep a fisherman away from the water long, especially when there are Shinies to be caught.” Dark patches stained Carl’s underarms while beads of sweat dotted his wide forehead. Starry’s had once again assumed a boxer’s pose.
“Congratulations on catching the Shiny Felicity that had evaded me for the entire month.” He stepped out from the shadows completely. “Using my rod.”
“It’s my rod now,” Yoshi said warily.
“I’ll be taking back my Shiny now.” He took a step towards them. “Give me back the Shiny!”
“Starry, run!”
She didn’t – couldn’t move. Neither could he. A prompt flashed up for his eyes only:

“Earlier today, you just beat my fresh catches.” Yoshi followed his line of sight to a shadow that stood further up the path. “Now, you get to play with my main girl. Patricia!” The shadow shifted, as a girlfriend started making her way way towards them.
“She’s fully charged now and fighting fit. I think you’ll find her moves positively… shocking,” Carl snickered. Yoshi flipped open the GF-wiki.

The electric-type dropped her fist, squeezing her eyes shut. Starlotte adopted her southpaw stance again and threw a wayward punch at her face.
“No!” Yoshi shouted. A heartbeat before impact, the Patricia snapped her hand onto Starry’s wrist.
Carl pointed a pudgy hand at the opposing girlfriend. “Patricia, use Shock Lock!”
“Let go of me!” Starry was kicking and trying desperately to wrench her arm free to no avail. There was a blinding flash and Starry’s body shivered, then became rigid.
Starry is Paralyzed!
The Patricia let Starry go and she thudded into the dirt.
“Damn it! Starry, get back!” The prone interstellar-type zipped back into her ring.
“Come on, send out your little birdy. Let’s see how much she has to say when she has lockjaw!”
I knew it was too good to be true. Yoshi threaded his finger into the third ring along his belt. I’ve got no choice.
“Felicity, go!”
His newly caught girlfriend zinged out and appeared in a half-crouching position. “Takes a while to get used to living in the ring after…” She looked at Carl, then at the Patricia. “Oh.”
“Ooooooh!” Carl squealed, skipping on the spot with gay abandon. “A shiny! My shiny!”
“Errr…” Felicity looked back at Yoshi uncertainly.
“Patricia, Shock Lock if you may, but try not to paralyze her too much.”
The electric rodent, looked back at her trainer with a raise eyebrow. “Umm… OK.” She raised her hands, threads of electricity leaping between her fingertips.
Felicity snapped her head back at Yoshi. “You sent me out against an electric-type?”
“I’m sorry, just…”
She leaped out of the way just as electricity exploded from Patricia’s hands and struck the spot she was standing. Mud spattered all over Yoshi.
Shock Lock missed!
“Felicity, use Water Slap!”
She got to her feet and pounced. Her hand crushed into the Patricia’s cheek, sending her sprawling into the dirt. She stood up, staggered left and fell into a bush.
Patricia is Confused!
“Yes!” Yoshi pumped his fist.
“Grrr! Patricia!” Carl’s voice pitched up urgently. Her head popped out out of the bush in a completely different direction to where her trainer was. “Use Lightning Jab!” She shook off the confusion and raised both bandaged fists, electricity crackling across her skin.
Trish is confused!
“Felicity, watch out!”
“With any luck, she should–”
The Patricia ran at Felicity and made it to within touching distance before she lost her balance again.
Trish hurt herself in confusion!
THWACK!
Her fist made a sickening crunching sound as it collided into the back of her own head. She trembled and fell to the mud like a plank of wood.

“Arrrrrrrgh!” Carl wobbled over to his electrical-type and kicked her in the side. “Get the fuck up!”
“Dude, calm down!” Yoshi yelled. “Stop it!”
The Patricia soundlessly took every merciless blow her trainer rained upon her until her HP bar drained to 0.

Yoshi grabbed his sleeve and wrenched him away from his limp girlfriend. “What the fuck is your problem?”
“Withdraw the Felicity, now!” he bellowed, eyes bulging from his head.
“You saw everything, she chose to be my girlfriend, fair and–”
For a human demolition ball, he moved surprisingly fast. One moment he was hyperventilating like he was breathing in the last of Earth’s oxygen, the next his bulbous ass was crushing Yoshi’s head.
Holy fuck, catch a Shiny then die by being suffocated by an obese fisherman as he sits on your face. This is definitely not what I imagined would be happening tonight.
Carl’s sausage fingers gripped Yoshi’s wrists, his tongue darting out and licking the beads of sweat trickling down his face. “Three… two… one…” he whispered.
Yoshi’s legs stopped thrashing and fell still. Carl grinned maniacally, extracting the ring from his finger. “You’re mine now Fel… wait!” Her orange glow was getting fainter and fainter as she ran towards Onyx.
Carl rolled off Yoshi, his knees cricking in protest as he stood up. “Get back here!” The blue beam shot out of the ring and missed. “Stop! I need you, my pretty!”
“Sir…!”
Five more minutes… bed so warm.
Lights flashe
d red and blue. “No response, I’m going in.”
His nose was pinched tight, jaw held open. Warm air forced itself into his chest.
Wait… I’m not in bed…
The air came again. Lips sealed around his, fur tickling his face. His chest rose and fell… and rose and fell again on its own.
“He’s breathing!”
Yoshi opened his eyes. “Felicity!”
“Sir, you have to stay down.”
He stared at the pointed canine nose, brain catching up. “Labby?”
The law enforcer nodded curtly. “Some fishermen found you here unconscious. The paramedics will be here soon.” She shone a penlight into his eyes. “What is your name?”
“My Felicity, she was kidnapped.” He gripped the Labby’s collar and pulled her towards him. “Carl kidnapped her!”
The Lobby disengaged Yoshi’s hands from her clothes. “Calm down, sir! I need you to tell me your name.”
“Yoshi Soysauce.” He groaned as he sat up, brushing away the Labby’s hands. “I’m fine. An obese man just suffocated me with his ass.”
“Did you say that your Felicity was kidnapped by someone called Carl?” The Labby said, whipping a notepad and pen out.
“Yes. We battled here and he… wait.” Yoshi’s hands were held behind his back, cold handcuffs clicking onto his wrists. “What’s going on?”
“Yoshi Soysauce, you are under arrest. Your girlfriend has been charged with assault and battery. You have the right to remain silent. Anything that you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me?”
“Thank Frank… what took you so long?”
Yoshi stormed over. “What the hell, Soph? Why are you beating up random people in town?”
She gripped the bars. Brown and white feathers littered the floor all around the cell. “I already told these dogs. He’s not a random. He’s that fat-ass girlfriend beater from before. He should be in here, not me.”
“You saw him coming back into Onyx? Was he chasing a Felicity?”
