“You are so bad,” he grumbled. “I’m gonna be walking around with a hard-on all day now.”
I decided to quit torturing him, so I carefully lifted myself up, trying not to brush myself against him again. He rolled off the bed to stand and had to adjust himself before he could zip and button his pants. The vision of him standing over me on my bed, doing that, just about did me in. My resolve was definitely weak.
“Your coffee’s cold now,” he said with a smirk as he pulled me off the bed. “Come on, get dressed for work. I’ll go home, so your brothers don’t see me coming from over here and beat my ass.”
He was still uncomfortable with them knowing he was sleeping at my place for some reason. He gave me a quick kiss on the lips, while I wrapped my arms around his waist to give his ass a squeeze. Instead of admonishing me for teasing him again, he returned the affection by giving mine a squeeze too.
Yep, this is gonna be a really long day.
That night, I headed to my dance class with Sasha and Jess. We had started a new routine the week before, so we were able to play around with it that night. Class got over a little bit late, and we walked outside to leave.
Of course, being women, we started talking when we stopped at the curb where our cars sat parked. It was dark outside, and some of the other women from the class joined in our conversation. Sirens were blaring in the distance, and I silently hoped they were not coming our way, because I was ready to go home and take a hot shower.
“Zoey, what are your plans for the weekend?” Jess asked.
“I don’t really have any plans, other than dinner on Sunday with the family. What ab—”
I was cut off by Jess screaming, “Zoey, look out!” She reached out and jerked me sideways, but something huge hit me from behind and then it felt like I was flying through the air. The last thing I saw were the four circles of the Audi emblem on my own car. Weird…
I felt the impact, and everything went black.
I don’t know how long I was unconscious, but when I opened my eyes, I saw Jess and Sasha hovering over me. My car was directly in front of me, and I was laying on my side in the street. I attempted to roll onto my back but couldn’t.
“Zoey, don’t move. The ambulance is on its way,” Sasha cried out as tears dripped down her face.
Ambulance? What the fuck happened?
My eyes fluttered closed involuntarily, and I was in the dark again.
I heard sirens, and when my eyes would cooperate and open for me, I saw flashing red lights and my best friends crying while talking on their cell phones.
This is bad. I wanted to scream, to know what happened. Why am I in so much pain? My head felt like it was going to explode, my ribs hurt when I breathed, and my hip was killing me. I tasted blood in my mouth, so I ran my tongue over my teeth, praying they were all still where they were supposed to be.
Oh God, why does my head hurt so badly?
The black enveloped me again.
To be continued…
The second part of Zoey and Andy’s story will continue in the upcoming book
