“This is your doing.” He storms toward me, eyes burning, and slams me hard against the truck.
“What the fuck—”
“I told you to leave her alone. I told you not to fuck with her. You made her a target. It’s your doing.”
“What do you fucking care about Sadie? She’s just another bitch to you,” I spit, my head reeling from the assault I’m trying to deal with from all angles.
“NEVER speak about her that way, you hear me?” JJ roars, landing a punch to my mouth and splitting my lip. I spit out blood, and Tex moves to come between us to stop this before we all get arrested.
“What does it matter to you, old man, eh? You going to trade Lia in for a younger model, huh? Want her pussy all for yourself?” This sends JJ into a rage I’ve never seen nor experienced before. We scuffle, each of us landing a few good punches before Tex drags me from JJ and stands between us.
“What the fuck is going on with you both?” He looks between us, and I shake my head as I wipe the blood from my mouth with the back of my hand.
“She’s my daughter.” He looks up at us both and his voice cracks with emotion. “Sadie is my fucking daughter!” he yells, slamming his hand on the hood of the truck and leaving us all lost for words.
