Judged: A Dark Sci-Fi Romance (Alien Captured Mates Book 1) Page 17

Ghislan entered the room, holding our son.

Little Jacob was named for my father and he was the spitting image of Ghislan. His eyes were a deep, bright maroon and his hair was a dust of gold.

Where Hyleia had my pale skin, Jacob’s was glittering in the light with the alien sheen of his father’s.

I backed towards the desk so I could sit down and attempt to hold my babies and their dads at once.

“Don’t you think it’s enough school for today?” Sadhbah asked with a cheeky grin.

  “Of course! Class dismissed!”

My students bolted for the door, excited screams just like the end of day in any school. I gathered my babies into my arms and felt my lovers settle on either side of me.

We leaned against each other, telepathy sweeping through us. The babies went quiet with their infant chatter and looked up at us with round, alert eyes.

My children were the first ever Xael/human hybrids.

The shared telepathy made them incredibly sensitive and Finbarr said they might demonstrate amazing abilities.

  No one knew for sure.

One thing I did know. I wasn’t just educating the next generation of humanity. I was creating it.

All we needed for the future was a lot more love.

I looked up at my men and I knew, they caught my thought. It seemed the babies did too, as they raised their little hands and started giggling for my attention.

We pressed together. It was selfish in a way, but I couldn’t help it.

My world was rebuilt, completely and for all time. It was a comfort to me that no matter what became of the war, I knew my path.

My men leaned down to kiss me, telling me without words that they felt the same way.

We cuddled the babies into us and gave no thought to the endless tomorrow.

  Only the relentless now.
