It felt like forever before he pulled her upright, brushing his hands over her wet cheeks, even as tears continued to roll down.
“You will never put yourself at risk again. Is that clear, Samantha. Not for anyone, least of all for me.”
“I’m sorry,” she stammered and straddled him. Her hands were trembling but she started yanking at the buttons on his shirt until she had it open.
“Oh god,” she gasped and a fresh wave of tears spilled over her cheeks. She brushed her palm over the black bruise covering most of his chest on the left side. “I was so scared your heart wouldn’t . . .” She choked and leaned forward to place soft kisses all over the bruised area. Then she laid her head against his chest, listening to the strong beat of his heart.
Her arms wrapped around his waist and hugged him hard. Rhone’s breathing faltered. The gesture rocked him and he found it difficult to breathe as emotions he wasn’t equipped to deal with, swirled through his heart. He hugged her in return.
“I was almost out of my mind with worry, Samantha. Never again. Do you hear me? Never. Again.” His gruff voice sounded foreign to his own ears. His body pulsed and the heat in his veins demanded release.
He flipped her onto her back on the sofa. In one move, he yanked his jeans down and thrust hilt-deep inside her. Her surprised gasp didn’t stop the torrent of lust that flooded his circuitry, as he pounded into her; driving his cock with so much force and speed inside her pussy that she could do nothing more than cling to him for her dear life.
But, it wasn’t enough for Samantha. Even with the wild and uncontrolled roughness, she needed to get closer; hold him harder; feel him deeper. She wrapped her legs around him, locked her ankles high behind his back and tilted her hips, offering herself completely.
The trusting gesture almost undid him.
“Fuck, luv,” he puffed as he slumped into her, breathing harshly. It took a herculean effort to bring his rampaging lust under control.
She might have caused him a lot of worry, but she had suffered as much, if not more than him. She didn’t deserve such harsh treatment, especially not when she offered her body with unconditional trust.
He leaned his forehead against hers, feeling the throb of his cock in tune with the pulsing need of her pussy, clenching and releasing around him.
Her small hands palmed his face and she forced his head back. She smiled gently through her tears. He was enchanted by her glowing eyes.
“I know you don’t believe me, but I love you. I just found you, Rhone and I don’t want to lose you. I’ll do everything in my power to keep you safe,” she whispered before burying her face in the crevice of his neck.
“No. It’s my responsibility . . . I need to keep you safe, luv.” A kiss whispered across her forehead. His eyes flickered and his voice deepened. “You are important to me. Do you understand, Samantha?”
Samantha felt his intensity; it was evident in his gaze.
She understood then.
He didn’t understand love or the emotions that went along with it. Rhone had lived a hard life.
With that short sentence, he silently pleaded her to accept him for what he was. To know that it might be all he had to offer. That he might never return the favor and give her the words of love she was yearning to hear.
She kissed his lips softly in acknowledgement.
“Yes, my love. I do.”
Rhone stared at her. Her words caused a shudder to run down his spine. ‘I do’; like a wedding vow. It felt good. It felt right and Rhone stopped questioning this feelings.
Samantha moaned as his lips closed over a taut nipple, and he suckled it deep into his mouth. She arched her back, offering more and he complied, sucking harder while nibbling on the succulent tips, until her pussy began to clench and rippled with desire around his cock.
She shivered with the desire that raced through her body, turning every nerve ending into an electric conduit that scorched her skin. She orbited her hips against his.
“Make love to me, Rhone.”
“You please me, luv. You have no idea how much. I love how you respond to my touch.”
He began to rock into her with slow, shallow jabs.
“I need you. So much,” she gasped with every plunge.
“Ah, Samantha, hearing these words from your lips makes me feel like I’ve conquered the universe.”
His hands were everywhere, his mouth and lips followed while he continued to tease her pussy with the tip of his cock. He played her body like the strings of a guitar. He took her to the pinnacle and kept her hovering on the precipice over and over again, until her whole body felt like a shimmering ball of fire. She shivered, covered in gooseflesh; her skin drawn so tight it felt too small to contain her body.
“Please, Rhone. I need you to fuck me. I can’t stand this anymore.”
“But you will,” he murmured into her throat, just before he bit into her neck.
She moaned and cried, then panted and pleaded. She screamed and cursed, only to be forced back to the edge, where he let her shiver in anticipation, only to start over again.
He nibbled his way down the slope of her stomach. Her breathing came in puffs of expectation when he spread her legs wider. His eyes darkened; they homed in on her essence. His nostrils flared wide as he inhaled her intoxicating bouquet.
“I’ll never get tired of your fragrance.” He brushed his palm over her labia, like he was paying homage to her beauty. “Damn, what a beautiful sight,” he growled.
He placed soft kisses on the inside of her thighs, followed by little flicks of his tongue. It felt like he was ordering every nerve ending to come awake and they did, with such intensity that she was left panting.
Her hips jerked in a wild dance when he nibbled on her tasty flesh. Her loins were ablaze with resurging heat.
She growled when he left an iridescent trail of saliva along her pelvis that cooled her heated skin. He brushed her soft labia and slowly inserted his middle finger, exploring, twisting and probing deeper, while watching her face transform with increasing pleasure.
“There’s something about you, luv that brings out the animal in me. I fucking want to devour you and blow your mind and then start all over again.”
Samantha arched her back and raised her hips, canting her hips for his marauding mouth, suddenly desperate to feel his tongue and lips taste her.
“You make me crazy, Rhone! Damn you, I need to . . . yesss,” she cried out as she guided his mouth to her quivering flesh by fisting a clump of his hair. She was on fire. Every cell in her body thrummed, subsumed in a wave of unbridled lust.
“Let go, luv. This is for me. I’ve wanted to do this since the first day I saw you,” he admonished as he backed away. He pushed her legs wider and slid two fingers inside her. He twisted his hand to search for the spongy flesh on the front wall of her vagina.
Samantha whimpered. She was exhilarated as he brushed over her nerves with deliberately sensual strokes.
“Lord, that feels so good,” she hissed. Her head pressed into the sofa cushions in response to the caresses over her sweet spot; his fingers pushing, tapping and diddling it. Her hips had a mind of their own, orbiting her pelvis in tight circles. She begged for more, consciously thrusting her hips into his fingers.
“Please, Rhone,” she moaned.
He leaned closer, his lips closed around her clit. A stuttering sob exploded from her throat. She clamped her legs around his head and held him against her pussy, bucking wildly against his face.
Rhone allowed it, enjoying himself too much to reprimand her. He sucked hard on her clit, swirling his tongue over the tip. Samantha cried out helplessly in the throes of euphoria as a rush of juices coated his fingers.
“I can’t anymore . . . I have to—”
“Look at me, my pet,” he ordered in a gruff voice as he leaned over her, brushing her hair off her face.
Her eyelids fluttered open, her chest heaved.
His smile was the most beautiful exp
ression of love she’d ever seen. If eyes were the gateway to the soul, the lips were the same thing for the body, offering softness, passion and the promise of the future to come. Her entire body pulsed in reaction; her pussy rippled. He pushed his cock hilt deep and stopped, her low mewl sounded like an injured cat.
“Now, luv. Come for me.”
She opened her mouth to tell him he needed to fuck her to make her come, when the familiar tightening of her muscles, followed by a flush of heat, filled her veins. Her eyes widened.
“Ohgodohgod,” she cried out as a climax shattered through her, flinging her up with such force, she couldn’t breathe.
She was still trying to recover, when he began to power into her. Slow at first, but with increasing intensity, until he pounded into her, slamming his hips hard against her pelvis. Her cries echoed in the silence of the room as he forced one climax after the other from her writhing body. Finally, he gave in and erupted deep inside her with a ferocity that shook them and left them gasping.
They were lost, floating on a cloud of bliss so immense that they could do no more than bask in the afterglow that left them exhausted and sated. Rhone didn’t move. He slumped on top of Samantha, exulting in her warmth surrounding him.
“You are mine. Mine.”
His voice was guttural and his breathing harsh against her throat. She clung to him, overcome with love and belonging. His lovemaking had been rough and wild, like he was trying to stamp his ownership on her.
For once, Samantha didn’t mind his roughness. It was befitting the moment of raw intensity and their primal copulation.
“I am yours. As you are mine.”
Rhone didn’t deny or acknowledge her claim. The kiss he gave her felt like he reverently sealed the vow she’d just made to him.
Chapter Twenty
“It is with great sadness that we report the death of Senator Bradley Davidson and his wife, Cindy. It is reported that he lost control of his vehicle on their way back from an anniversary trip at Shenandoah National Park and plummeted off a cliff. Their vehicle caught fire and they both died on impact. The couple is survived by their thirty-year-old son, Jason Davidson. Senator Davidson was well known for his involvement in the women’s issues, peace talks, and security strategy aimed at promoting and strengthening women’s participation in peace negotiations and conflict prevention overseas. He was also actively involved with Senator Kevin Douglas in the preparation of the proposed bill on legalizing prostitution that is causing major controversy amongst legal and illegal entities at the moment. Senator—”
Kevin Douglas switched off the television. His shoulders slumped dejectedly. He looked at Governor Alex White with resignation on his face, before he spoke to Rhone, Keon and Jack, who had joined them in his office for a meeting.
“That’s it. They couldn’t get to me, so they went after Bradley. It’s over. I’m not prepared to risk anyone else getting killed. My family has been living in constant fear since the failed kidnapping at the school party.”
“What the reporter isn’t saying is that Bradley and his wife had been ambushed at their rented lodge in the hills. He’d called me just after they’d left. The attackers, four of them, had been brutal and his wife was badly hurt. He was on his way to the hospital. They gave him a warning,” Alex divulged further.
“Let me guess, ‘tell Senator Douglas not to introduce the bill or else’?” Jack fumed.
“Correct. I’m afraid I agree with you Kevin. This has become dangerous for everyone involved. We need to announce that the bill won’t be introduced,” Alex declared.
“I hate to see these bastards walk away with murder but I understand it’s a difficult decision to make.” Keon agreed.
“If you don’t mind, Senator, I’d prefer that Jack remain on duty in your household for another week or two. Just in case.” Rhone got up and shook his hand. “It was a worthwhile cause but not at the cost of innocent lives.”
“Thank you, Rhone. I appreciate everything you and your team have done for us. Dixon will be upset when Jack leaves.” Kevin turned to him with a smile. “She’s become quite fond of her new uncle.”
Jack returned his smile. “She’s a sweet kid. I’m gonna miss her too. Who knows, I might pop in now and then to say hi.”
“We’d like that.”
“Rhone, I have something I need to discuss with you as well, if you have some time?” Alex remarked as they left the office.
Rhone placed the cap and shades on and followed them down the hallway. Dressed in coveralls, he hunched his shoulders, giving him, the appearance of a tired janitor carrying a bucket and broom.
Brad Flint, the secretary of state met them on the way to Alex’s office. Rhone glanced at Keon and Jack. His presence meant there was another operation lined up for them.
“We have a suspicion that a high-ranking CIA official is involved with one of the top crime syndicates,” Brad stated formally. “More concerning is that he or she is using their position to utilize CIA personnel to do their dirty work.”
“We have lost five airtight cases against the mob and crime syndicates over the past three years because of evidence disappearing from the CIA evidence vaults,” Alex declared. His annoyance was apparent in his tense body. “The last one was the final straw. The drug bust you assisted us in a few months ago? Well, all of it is gone and there isn’t any record of who moved it. The video feed for the past two weeks has been swiped clean. We suspect the drugs have been removed bit by bit.”
“I suppose the guards can’t shed any light either?” Rhone wanted to know.
“They can’t. We use biometrics to access the vault and only senior level officials are allowed in the evidence block reserved for ongoing court cases.”
“Hence your belief that it’s a senior CIA officer involved.” Keon mused. “I suppose the biometric reports have also disappeared?”
Alex nodded. “We don’t want to spook the culprit. We want to catch him.”
“The Sixth Order,” Rhone muttered pensively. “We know the drugs came from Cuba and was meant for the Sixth Order. We have a suspicion that they are behind the threats against Douglas. That’s also the reason for my supposed death.”
“Shit! Why haven’t you told me this before?” Alex raged.
“Because the person who ordered the hit is in the NCS. He blackmailed a former sniper to do the job.”
“A former sniper? From the CIA secret kill squad, Silver Sting?” Brad queried.
Rhone nodded. Brad looked at Alex. “There’s only one former sniper who left the squad. Codename, Ace. Is it him?”
“Yes; which is why we are keeping Rhone out of the public eye. We’re trying to find out who he is. She refuses to divulge his name because he has her sister.”
“And that would be the same person we’re looking for,” Alex mused. “Wait a minute. She? You’ve met Ace? It seems you haven’t told me everything, mate.”
Rhone shrugged and quickly brought him up to speed.
“Fuck. This bastard is more corrupt than we first believed. Did she happen to mention his code name? All handlers use codenames,” Brad asked.
“Bulldog,” Keon sneered.
Brad shook his head. “Doesn’t ring a bell, but that’s not surprising. They usually keep their identities secret.”
Alex didn’t respond, just shrugged his shoulders with a negative head shake “I suppose that’s how he keeps Ace under his control. The bracelets you inquired about earlier? Are they still wearing them?”
“Yes, Alex, but we now have a set of the detonators. Max is working with someone to see if they can deactivate them. He did mention that they carry the CIA trademark.”
“Ask Max to come and see me. If it carries the CIA trademark, I know which ones they are and those designs are sophisticated. We designed them like that. The problem is that the handler encrypts it with his own codes but we should be able to bypass them if you have a set on hand,” Alex said. He was still unofficially involved with the CIA becaus
e of his previous position as the director before he went into politics. They treasured his involvement, especially because of his knowledge of different kinds of warfare.
“I’ll have Max come over as soon as possible. The sooner we can get this fucker caught, the better. I need my daughter safe and back with me,” Keon said earnestly.
Alex watched them leave. He sank into his chair and leaned his arms on the desk. Then his face turned hard; his blue eyes glittered coldly and darkened to inky-blue.
I hate someone trusted to keep the country and their people safe to be this corrupted. Bulldog? Why does it sound so familiar?
* * * * * * * *
“Senator Kevin Douglas has confirmed that he has decided to withdraw the bill he intended to introduce at next week’s senate seating to legalize prostitution. No reason for the decision has been supplied. Senator Douglas didn’t open the session for questions and moved directly to further announcements.”
“Well, it’s about fucking time,” Damien Whittaker stated and turned away from the TV in his office. “Not to forget the fact that I had to intervene.”
It grated on Adam’s nerves, which he supposed, was the intention. Whittaker was a gloater.
“At least you accomplished one of your tasks. The leaders are happy with Rhone’s execution. But, you know them. They want confirmation. Have you brought the death certificate and coroner’s report?”
Adam threw the blue file folder on his desk in front of him. “I did one better. I included photos of the corpse.”
Damien paged through the contents of the file. He sat back with a satisfied grin on his face. “Now, we can continue with our plans. Precision Secure will be out of the way while they’re picking up the pieces after their leader’s death, which gives us time to implement our next strategy. I don’t see Ace’s contract included in this file. Don’t tell me she hasn’t signed yet? Does she want more money?”
“She knows her value but don’t worry, she’ll come around,” Adam hedged.
