“Hurry up sir, you don’t want to be late today! Anne is waiting for you! It’s going to be the best day of your life!”
“I wish I could share your enthusiasm!” Said Mike trying to block the sun from hurting his eyes.
Turns out that planning the bachelor party the night before the wedding wasn’t such a good idea. His maid was as excited as the bride probably. She was trying to wake him up while getting his wedding clothes ready for him. The previous night he had a lot to drink and he end up cheating on Anne with two of the strippers.
He didn’t consider it cheating because he used to say that as long as he was not married he could sleep with anyone he wanted. Of course Anne had no idea about this. She thought that she was marrying the most loyal man in the world.
Mike met Anne two years ago at a job interview. He was surprised to see the employer was such a young hot woman. At first he assumed she was married to a rich old man. Turns out she was the daughter of a billionaire and daddy left her more money than anyone could imagine. She looked stressed because money came with a lot of responsibilities.
Daddy’s little girl was used to spending her days shopping and visiting spa saloons. When her father passed away she was suddenly the boss and she had hundreds of employees and a huge business to run. Anne was forced to grow up in a short period of time. Mike was interviewing for the manager position. He had plenty of experience and his good looks made it easy for her to hire him.
In less than a few weeks, Mike took over the company and managed to become her boyfriend. She was hot but no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t get himself to love her. He was ashamed to admit even to himself that he was with her for the money. He was very talented at his job but because he didn’t like to follow rules, he always ended up getting fired.
This meant that he barely had enough money to pay for his rent. Thanks to Anne’s money, his lifestyle completely changed. He finally got himself the luxurious car he wanted ever since he was a child. As a little boy, he had a picture of it above the bed.
At the office, everybody was nice to him but he could see the envy in their eyes. This was especially true with the men working there. In the eyes of women he could see judgment. He just ignored everybody because he knew that being with Anne was his only chance to have anything he wanted in life.
Maybe not exactly everything but almost. The one thing that he could not have was love. He could see that Anne loved him very much but for him she was just a bank account. She was acting like a spoiled child sometimes and she loved to give him orders. If those orders were outside the bedroom, he did not like obeying them.
She was used to have everything her way and he had to bite his tongue many times. Mike could not risk getting her mad because he was scared to lose all the financial benefits. Another advantage of having money was the fact that women seemed to want him even more than before.
He did not care that it was because of the money. He got what he wanted from them and then he looked for the next one. Sneaking around and cheating on Anne was surprisingly easy. She was so focused on herself that she never imagined anyone could betray her. Anne really believed she was the center of the universe.
This drove him mad but again, he could not say anything to upset her. There were many things he didn’t like about her character. Mike knew he was no saint for using her only for the money but at least he was a good person.
He had compassion for people in need and he wanted to do more charity work. Anne was against anything that had to do with charity. She believed that being poor was a choice many people made only because they were too lazy.
This topic of conversation always made him angry and this was the only time he disagreed with her. One time they passed near a woman who was begging on the street. She had a baby with her and he stopped to give her some money. Anne got really mad at him and told him that he is only helping her stay poor and lazy.
Mike new it was no point in arguing with her about that. He just let her talk and then later that day he got back to the woman and helped her move into a rented one-room apartment. He promised to pay all her bills and he even sent her groceries. The woman did now know how to thank him. She accepted the apartment but she asked him to help her find a job so she could pay her own bills. She wanted to work and not receive charity for the rest of her life. It was easy for him to find her a job.
That was the first time he really helped someone in need and it made him feel better than any pleasure that money could buy. At that moment, he made a promise to himself. If he was going to spend the rest of his life with a heartless woman and without love, at least he was going to use some of her money to help people. That thought made him feel much better about himself.
Mike realized that it wasn’t entirely selfish because it gave him joy too. He was actually helping people to help himself feel better about his life choices. Even so, it was worth doing it. He kept on searching for people to help while trying to keep it a secret from his fiancée. Everywhere he looked, he could see someone that was in desperate need for help.
All he had to do was walk on the streets. Some people only needed a job while others needed help to pay the rent. He would had loved to open a nonprofit organization but he knew he could not do this without Anne’s permission. As long as they were not legally married, he had no right to use her money to start a charity. This was one of the reasons why he asked her to marry him.
For Anne, he was more like a jewelry she could parade around for her friends to see. All her other rich girlfriends were rich only because they married old unattractive billionaires. Because she inherited her fortune, Anne had the luxury to marry a young hot man. She didn’t care that he had no money because she had more than enough. She only wished that she could control him more but she was sure that in time he would become an obeying husband.
The wedding was long and Mike could not wait to get it over with. He still had a terrible hang over from the previous night. He was now her legal husband and he did not have to ask permission for every cent that he spent. This meant of course that he could finally start his own charity.
Mike started working on his project the very next day, He refused to go on a honeymoon because he did not see the point in spending a couple of weeks alone with a woman he did not love. At home at least they were both too busy to speak to each other. Their sex life had a lot to suffer too because of this.
To be able to run his new charity, he needed help. He spent a couple of days finding for the right person for the job. One of those days, Amy, a sweet young woman showed up for a job interview. She was not only beautiful but she had amazing green eyes t
hat could calm anyone just by looking at her.
Her voice was also like a voice from heaven. She was perfect to work for the charity. The fact that she had experience, made Mike hire her the same day.
Working with her every day made him forget that he was married. Before he knew it, he was in love and he would had done anything just for a kiss. Luckily, Amy felt the same way for him but she did not want to get too close to him because she knew he was married.
Mike explained to her that while he was not proud of himself, he married his wife for money. Normally this would be a thing that would make her run as fast as possible. However, he did open the charity with the money and that was a good excuse. He wasn’t using the money for his selfish pleasures. He was trying to do something good in the world.
Their next big project was heling single mothers that suffered domestic violence. The goal was to get them into apartments and help them get jobs and daycare for their children. It was a big job that required a lot of money and a lot of work.
Luckily, thanks to his new power and influence, he was able to raise a lot of money from other rich people. Unfortunately, his newfound fame led to his wife finding out about the charity. She asked him to shut it down if he didn’t want a divorce.
Mike was scared that he would lose the charity if she divorced him. He did not need to use her money anymore because they received plenty of funds. Amy advised him to speak to a lawyer about this. Mike thought that was a good idea and he made an appointment.
Luckily, Anne had no right to shut down the charity. All she could do was to stop funding it but this did not matter anymore. The charity was well known now and funds kept on coming. The divorce was quick and painless. However, Anne was angry that he went behind her back and opened the charity.
She tried to shut it down and this was the most painful thing for Mike. They had to go to court for this too. She claimed that since the charity was started with her money, she had the right to close it down if she wanted to. Luckily, Mike and Amy had a good lawyer that helped them keep the charity.
When she saw that ruining their project did not work, she tried to ruin their relationship. She got in touch with Amy and told her that she just had sex with her ex-husband. At first, Amy believed her and her heart was broken. As soon as she talked to Mike though, she could clearly see that he was being honest. He was really in love with her and he had no intention of cheating on her. They decided to just ignore Anne and try to be happy together. Amy actually felt sorry for Anne because even with all those money, she was not happy.
After the divorce, Mike was forced to move back into a modest apartment but he did not mind. He was a new man who cared more about helping others than himself. Another thing that was different now was that he had a good woman in his life that loved him and he loved her too.
It felt like the beginning of the rest of his life. He did not waste any time and he asked Amy to marry him as soon as the divorce was complete. He told her that he had nothing to offer her but his love. Amy did not need anything else. Together they kept on working on the charity and they helped many people.
The Devil You Know
“Take a sit Miss Jones. I read your resume and I must say, I’m impressed and confused at the same time. Why is a person with your qualifications applying to be my assistant? I think you are overqualified for this job.”
I want to hire her more than anything in the world. This is not only because I think she would be amazing at the job and she would help me a lot but also because she is so beautiful. Ever since she got into my office, I had to make a big effort to focus on the interview.
“I know I am overqualified but I am sure I will have a lot to learn from such a successful entrepreneur like yourself. My goal is to have my own successful business in the future. What better person to learn from? I wish to be honest with you. I am not planning to work here forever. I am not going to quit very soon either because I know it will take time to start my own business. First I want to use your knowledge and experience while working for you. So you see, I need you as much as you need me.”
I could not stop smiling. I just loved the fire she had in her eyes. Even if I was not attracted to her, I know I would be really stupid to miss this opportunity. I need more people like her at my company. I am already a billionaire and for me it’s not even just about the money. More money means only that my bank accounts get fatter.
At this point in my life money do not increase my happiness. This used to be the case when I first started earning more than I could spend. Going from nothing to where I could afford anything I wanted, did indeed improve my lifestyle and made me happy. Now what makes me happy is winning. I love to win in business and also in my personal life. I do not have a steady relationship because I love my freedom. Some women accused me of being a bad boy and a Don Juan. Maybe they are right, I don’t know.
“So what do you say?”
She asks when I stop talking for a few seconds. I got lost in my thoughts and her sensual voice brought me back to the present moment.
“You are hired! You can start tomorrow morning. I am usually first in the office but you can come later.”
“I will be here to receive you.” She said with a huge smile that melted my insides.
Lisa, my new assistant, had dark hair and really bright green eyes. Her lips were full and she had a million dollar body. She was wearing office pencil skirts and tight white shirts that left little to the imagination. I was a professional though and I had enough experience with women to know how to hide my attraction. Women loved men who did not pay a lot of attention to them.
If I was going to start making her complements and showing how much power she had over me, I was going to become just another man drooling over her. I am sure she has a long list of those and I want to be different. There is something else about Lisa that intrigues me but I cannot say exactly what it is. After a couple of months of working together, I know she is keeping something from me because sometimes she acts all weird and she does not want to explain to me what is going on.
The other day, I had to fly to Italy for an important business meeting. Lisa insisted that we don’t take the plain for the meeting. She wanted to drive and in my opinion this was a huge waste of time. Time was the only luxury I could not afford. I knew for sure that she had no fear of flying because it was not the first time when we traveled together for business. Since she was not going to tell me why she insisted to drive this time, I decided to ignore her. I told her that she could stay home but I had to go on that business trip and I could not drive because there was no time.
Surprisingly, she agreed and stayed home. This was not at all like her because she always put work first. I remember one time I had to force her to go back home because she was ill. Something was wrong with her but unfortunately, I had no time to find out what it was. It had to wait until I got back. Some important investors were waiting for me so I rushed to the airport. The pilot for my private jet was not available so I had to fly with a public plane. This wouldn’t be a problem if I could only find my damn passport.
I could swear that I put it in the pocket of my front jacket. No matter how much I beg them to allow me to fly with my driver’s license, I am being asked to step away from the check-in line because there are other people waiting behind me. The traffic is impossible so I lost my flight. I suspect Lisa had a hand in this and remember the warm surprising hug she gave me before I left. She must have took my passport then and now I want to find out why.
I go straight to her house because I want to hear her explanations. I expect her to deny everything but she doesn’t.
“Lisa, I know you stole my passport to stop me from flying. Now I’ve missed probably a million dollar deal and you have to tell me why you did this. I will not get mad, I promise. I just need to know the truth.”
I said trying to make her feel comfortable enough to tell me the truth. At that moment I was more curious than angry. I really wanted to know everything about that intr
iguing and fascinating woman standing in front of me.
“Come on in, would you like something to drink?” She asked as if I came for a visit.
“Just a coffee please.” I did not bother to tell her that I wanted it black because she was the one preparing my coffee every day at the office. Lisa was actually doing a lot of things for me. She was much more than a simple secretary. Her intelligence allowed me to work less and entrust her with many important tasks.
I really enjoyed having her with me at the office for so many hours every day. She was the reason why I hurried now even more to get back to work. If we had a day off, I would almost count the minutes until I could get back to the office again and see her sweet smile. Without even knowing, I was giving my heart to this woman and I realized that I did not know anything about her. All I knew was that she was smart and that she was hiding something.
When she got back with the coffee she was wearing something else. When did she change? She was only gone for a few seconds. Now she was wearing a flower dress that forced my eyes to look to her perfect round breasts. Her voice brought me back to reality:
