When he admitted, I did my best to keep my tears from falling. He explained that it was a mistake and that it just happened a couple of times. He also said that I was the he loved but I made up my mind.
My problem was that I could not afford to move out right away. This is why I took a second job as a waitress. In the meantime, I acted like he didn’t even exist. This was hard to do because he was the center of my universe. He was my man, my love, my happiness. I also tried to not show him how hurt I was.
I moved out when he wasn’t home because I knew he would try to stop me. He tried to talk to me every single day. I did not trust his words anymore though. I wanted to believe him so much but I just could not do it. I know that men cheat but I was hoping that my fairy tale was true.
One day as I was getting back home from one of my jobs, I noticed that a woman was following me. I stopped and I could see that was the secretary from Damian’s office. She was the last person I wanted to see right then. She asked to talk to me.
Since I had no choice, I agreed to go to a coffee shop. I didn’t say much because I wanted to let her talk. She told me that my husband really loved me and that what happened between them wasn’t serious at all. I couldn’t believe Damian when he told me that but when I heard it from her, I knew she had no reason to lie to me.
The same day, I got back home, to my husband. Our life changed a lot since then. He works less hours and we both work on our relationship. We are like at beginning with one small difference: we are rich.

Romance: The Other Man
Jennifer always thought that she would end up marrying her high school boyfriend. He was her first love and also her best friend. As years went by, all they had left was a beautiful friendship. This didn’t stop them from getting married though. It was the next logical step and they didn’t think twice about it. Many times Jennifer wanted to talk to Karl about her feelings but something was holding her back.
She wasn’t sure if he felt the same for her and just in case he was still in love, she didn’t want to break his heart. So they allowed the routine and daily problems to take over and before they knew it, she got pregnant.
The news that she was going to have a child brought her happiness but also some sadness. A child meant that now she was forced to stay with her husband for the rest of her life. It also meant that she was never going to experience real love or passion. All she had left were her romance books. This was her way to escape and imagine how it would feel to be loved that way.
Karl had the same thoughts and feelings as she had but it was easier to just cheat on her and stay married. In a way he thought he was the luckiest man in the world because he got to sleep around while having a good wife at home who was making sure he had everything he needed for a comfortable life.
It was really easy to cheat on Jennifer because she trusted him more than anything in the world. Whenever he wanted to meet his mistress he was just calling and saying that he had a lot to work and that he will be home late. Sometimes, when he needed a break from the family life which involved a crying baby, he would tell her that he had to work all night long.
He could not believe how a smart woman like her could be so easy to trick. Whenever he thought about Jennifer sleeping with another man, he would get really angry. He didn’t have any romantic feelings for her but he felt that she was his property. She belonged to him and she could not find her happiness anywhere else.
Lately he was beginning to be very jealous and possessive. He had the impression that if he was cheating, this meant that she was doing the same thing. Every time he got back from a date with his mistress he was very angry and suspicious. This was ruining their relationship.
All they had was just a beautiful friendship. Passion and romance was missing but she was okay with that. Since he changed his attitude towards her, they lost the friendship they had too. This left them with nothing but fights and stress. It got so bad that Jennifer preferred to spend as much time as possible working. This meant that they barely met and they had less time to talk. After a couple of months, they were just two strangers living together.
Under these circumstances, it was easy for a charming man like Dilan to steal her heart. He was her new boss and he asked her out a couple of times. She agreed to go out with him using work as a pretext. In reality, those lunches and dinners were not about work at all. They would talk and laugh for hours and this made her feel butterflies for the first time.
She could never go any further than that though. Jenn was very loyal to her husband and family and no matter how unhappy she was, she could never cheat or leave her husband. Her little daughter needed a father and she thought that staying with her husband would allow little Ana spend more time with her father.
Whenever she went to work, she was getting her ring off. She wanted Dilan to think she was free even if she wasn’t going to start a relationship with him. Jenny knew that it made absolutely no sense but she wanted to keep the fantasy alive. It was a world where she felt loved and she loved.
When Dilan started to insist more, she knew the fantasy had to end. She was going to tell him when he took her by surprise with a kiss on the lips. She eventually pushed him away but for the first few seconds she didn’t have the power to do so. She just let the kiss wash over her. It felt too good to end it but she had to. Next thing she felt was an overwhelming guilt. She started to cry and Dilan was scared because he thought that he did something wrong.
As a billionaire, Dilan could have a relationship with anyone he wished. This is why it came as a surprise when Jennifer resisted him for so long. He could see it in her eyes though. He could clearly see that she felt the same love for him as he did for her.
This was very confusing because while she sent all the signals, at the same time she was rejecting him. It was like her eyes told her one thing while her words said the opposite.
The day he finally had the courage to kiss Jennifer, she finally told him the truth. He had great success with women but he never wanted to break up a family. The fact that she had a child too, only made things worse. He grew up without a father because his parents got a divorce when he was a child. Since the divorce, his father was out of the picture and this cause a lot of distress in his life. He could not do this to another child.
He told Jennifer that it was all up to her but he did not want her to get a divorce because of him. He did not want to be the cause of it. She told him that she had plenty of reasons to get a divorce. She had reasons not to get married because there was no love but she did not have the courage to do this. Getting married with the only lover she had in her life was what everyone was expecting. She didn’t want to disappoint her parents so she married Karl.
As much as she wanted to keep Dilan away, it was impossible. Every time he looked into her eyes, she felt like she was melting. The ended up sleeping together and he asked her to marry him. She said yes and after talking to Karl, they both got to the conclusion that they could not make each other happy. After the divorce, they actually got back to being best friends. Dilan had nothing against it because he wanted their daughter to have both parents in her life.

The Working Girl
Her life was like a closed book and she rarely let anyone see the real Karla. For anyone who didn’t really know her, she looked like the good girl who would never stay out too late, never drink and rarely date.
She was a little shy and she didn’t have any friends. As a child, she was the awkward girl who had a delayed puberty and when she finally grew up, she transformed into a gorgeous young woman.
Her good looks didn’t give her any self-confidence. It was difficult for her to forget about the bullied little girl she used to be. This caused her not to trust anyone and to use her apartment as her escape from the outside world.
After finishing college, she moved in by herself but she had trouble paying her bills. Her parents couldn’t do much to help h
er because they had their own financial problems. Even if they had the resources, Karla would not feel right accepting their help. She had this idea that once she was out of their house, she was supposed to be the one helping them and not the other way around.
Whenever she thought about money, she didn’t dream about getting things for herself. Instead, she imagined how happy her mom would be to move into a nicer house and have all the money she needed without working hard cleaning other people’s apartments. It broke her heart seeing that her health was getting worse but she still couldn’t afford to stop working. Karla was a big believer in having a strong motivation.
Making the people she loved happy was her motivation. Since she couldn’t find a job to pay enough for her own bills, Karla started looking online for ways to make money from home.
This was how she discovered adult video-chat. It was not easy for her to decide to do this because it involved getting naked in front of a webcam and being watched by strangers all over the world. The money was amazing though and she could make all her wishes come true. She could change her mom’s life.
The first days were the most difficult but what made things easier was to pretend she was someone else. For her online shows she picked up some sexy clothes and she used her intelligence to make men stay online as much time as possible. Since she was paid for every minute, the goal was to keep them as long as possible.
Getting undressed in front of the camera was just a small part. To her surprise, most men that came to see her shows were actually just lonely and needed someone to talk to. They needed a pretty girl to smile to them and feel that they were not alone in the world anymore. In a way, they were just like her. Of course some of them were real freaks but luckily she could just block them.
In less than a week she was able to put some money aside, pay her bills and help her mother. The one thing that she couldn’t really tell her mother was how she earned the money. She hated to keep secrets from her since she was also the only friend she had so she told her part of the truth.
Her mom was a smart woman and she could guess the rest but she never told anything to Karla. No matter what she did, she knew that it was with good intentions and she was proud of her daughter.
As she was chatting with her clients, one of them attracted her attention by the way he talked. Out of all the men in the chat room, he was the only one who didn’t ask to see her naked. He was also the only one who could make her smile. Even though it was against the website’s rules, they exchanged phone numbers and they started to talk every single day.
Karla didn’t want him to pay a high price per minute on the video chat website. He was a man she loved to talk to and she was slowly falling in love. She knew it was silly to love a man she never even seen in real life but she couldn’t help it. Her whole life became a fantasy world and she was looking forward to talking to Dion.
As time went by, she wanted to meet him. This was a bit of a problem because he lived far away but he made the first step and came to visit her.
That is how their love story started in real life too. It was also the time when she decided to leave behind her video chat job and look for something better. She wanted to find a job where she could make the same amount of money but it needed to be a job she could be proud about.
Luckily, just around that time, one of her other chat customers made an interesting proposal to her. He was a rich business owner and he told her that he could tell how smart she was and that he needed an assistant just like her. She made it clear to him that nothing romantic could ever happen between them because her heart belonged to Dion.
The name of the business owner was James and although Dion didn’t agree to this, she was stubborn. He wasn’t sure if she was supposed to trust a man she just met online. When he said that he realized the irony of it because she met him the same way.
However, Dion knew there were some evil men in the world. If he was being honest with himself, he was also worried that James could steal her away from him. After all, he was a powerful business man and most women loved rich men not necessarily because of the money but because of the power they had.
“Karla, please, listen to me, you don’t know anything about this man. He could be dangerous. You just talked to him online and you are ready to move to his city for a job. I will help you out with money.”
“Dion, I could never take your money. You have your own bills to pay and you cannot afford to take care of my parents too. Besides, I want to earn my own money. For once in my life I want to be proud of myself.”
“You should already be proud of yourself. It takes a lot of courage to do what you did and you were able to help your parents. I want you to quit and find something else too but not with the price of your safety.”
“Okay then, I will move to your city. There I will have more chances to find a good job than here. This is more a village than a city and I know I need to move. It is about time I see where you live too.”
“No! You cannot do this.”
“Why not? Why are you so scared of this? And why did you never invite me to your house? What are you hiding, Dion?”
“Nothing! If you don’t trust me maybe we shouldn’t be together.”
“What?? Okay, fine! Just leave!”
She could not understand why he was being so vehement about this. She often wondered why she was never invited to see his house but she assumed it was just a matter of time. She tried to lie to herself and say that maybe it was just easier for him to travel than the other way around.
This time she wanted to move to his city and find a place to rent. It wasn’t like she wanted to rush things between them. Even so, he refused her and he seemed scared and angry.
The fact that he practically chose to break off their relationship than have her live close to him, made her ask herself a lot of questions. Things didn’t make any sense because up until that moment their relationship was just perfect. Their only problem was distance and missing each other.
He was always calling and telling her how much he missed her. Whenever it was time to say goodbye again, he had tears in his eyes. When she was with him and listened to his words, she felt like the most loved woman in the world. This is why she was so shocked by his last words.
Dion just left and he didn’t give any more sings. Karla swore to herself that she would not be the one calling him or sending messages. In order to keep her promise, she even erased his phone number. Too bad she could not erase it from her memory. Too bad she couldn’t erase him and his kisses from her skin and heart. For the next couple of days she cried almost all the time.
She was sad but it was much more than that. She was angry. So she couldn’t stop herself from calling anymore. She knew she would regret it but her hands dialed the number and she could hear herself say between tears:
“You are such a liar! You made me fall for you, you made me believe in your words and now you just broke my heart! You are evil!!!”
She hanged up and although she felt a little better, she was also embarrassed. Her initial intention was to keep her pride and ignore him until the day when he would look for her again. Since that day did not come, she had to be the one calling. But that was enough. She needed to forget him and his sweet words of love.
She packed her bags and left to James’s. If before she was only interested in the job, now she wanted him too. This was not because she was suddenly in love with him, but because she needed him to forget Dion.
People always said that in order to forget someone, a person had to jump into a new relationship. She never tried it before but the pain was too much. She had to do something to make herself stop crying and suffering.
As soon as she arrived at James’s mansion, he showed his real face. He talked to her like he would talk to an insignificant object. She hated him from the first moment and she knew there could be nothing between them.
She just wanted to do the job he was offering for a couple of months and then look for something else. Jame
s wasn’t even a person she would had liked to work for long term. He was a real jerk who hated poor people and believed it was their own fault. James was everything she hated in a man.
A couple of weeks went by and Karla was already ready to go back home. She realized that even without money she was much happier there. What she didn’t know was that James didn’t plan to let her go. He believed she belonged to him and he knew that eventually she would become his girlfriend.
When he realized that wasn’t going to happen and that she already bought her ticket back home, he locked her in his basement. He tricked her that he had something important to show to her. As soon as they were down in the basement, Karla could feel a shiver of fear down her spine. He locked the door and yelled from the other side:
“You are mine now! Do you have any idea how many girls would love a chance to be in your place? To be offered to live in my mansion and to be my girlfriend?? You stay here for a while and think about this. I will let you out again when I will be sure that I can trust you. If you try to escape, just think about your poor parents back home. What if something terrible was to happen to them?”
