“Shh... you’re okay. Just relax and let me love you.” I nodded toward the floor-to-ceiling windows. “Don’t be shy either. No one can see this high up.”

“Just tell me if I’m doing something wrong.” She gripped my hand and pulled it toward her mouth before inserting two of my fingers between her lips.

I moaned and moved down to my knees in front of her. “Something tells my you’re not as innocent as you look.”

She let out a soft cry as I plucked my fingers from her mouth and worked on her jeans. A frantic feeling filled me, and I tugged them and her panties off a little faster than I wanted to. She reached down to help before pulling her shirt off and working on her bra. She flung it at the window and laid back down on the bed.

“Come up here and let me taste you,” she whispered.

  My cock did a dance.

“Not yet.” I ran my hands up her thighs and took her in. “God, you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life. You sure you want your first time to be with a jackass like me?”

She laughed and pulled her knees up, opening her pussy for me. The soft pink skin was wet and smelled like heaven. “I don’t think you’re a jackass at all.”

“Good. You fell for my tricks then.” I leaned down, grabbed her ass from underneath and pressed my mouth to her. She groaned and rolled her hips as I took my time on her. She needed to open up a little, and she would with the help of my fingers. I pressed my middle finger into her heat as I continued to lick and play with her clit.

“Do more of that,” she demanded as I pumped my fingers in and out of her tight body. “More.”

I smiled and pressed my mouth back against her as I carefully inserted two and then three fingers into her body. She tensed and screamed my name as she jerked around. I held her down and fucked her over the edge once more before getting up.

“Delicious,” I said and reached down to undo my jeans. After grabbing a rubber from my nightstand and kicking off my pants, I walked back to the bottom of the bed. “Scoot up. I want to take my time with you.”

“I need you to do that again soon.” She rolled on her side and pulled her legs up as she bit her lips and moaned.

“Anytime you want. Count me in.” I licked my fingers before crawling up the bed and tugging at her thigh. Her legs were built like dancer’s legs. Solid and firm. She rolled back to her back and bent her knees before opening wide for me.

“I’m scared.” She pulled me close, and I kissed her neck and cheeks before kissing her ear.

“I’m not going to hurt you. Just let me know if I need to stop. I’m here way more for your pleasure than mine, okay?”

“Okay,” she mumbled and gripped my face. We kissed softly at first until she got more aggressive. I pressed my mouth to the side of her neck and reached down between her and the bed to hold her ass.

“Just let me know, baby. I’m serious.”

“I will.” She lifted her hips, pressing the thick head of my cock into her tight channel.

I groaned and pressed forward, wanting every inch of my dick tucked inside of her. It was an exercise in patience like I’d never experienced. “We’re almost there.” I pressed for a little more.

She tensed, and I felt her body pop against mine. “Is that it?”

I stared down at her and nodded. “That was it, baby. You okay?”

“Yeah. More.” She pawed at my chest and glanced down the line of our bodies as I pulled out and pressed back in, working myself deeper and deeper into her. She slammed her hands down on the bed beside her and cried out as her pussy spasmed around my shaft. “Fuck me.”

Her request was sweet and soft, not angry and demanding.

“Absolutely.” I lifted up and made sure my shaft dragged along her clit as I rocked into her faster and faster.

She pulled me down and wrapped her legs around me as we panted and thrusted together over and over.

The buildup started in my sack and shot up my cock as my world lit on fire. I’d never been with a virgin before, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to ever be with one again.

Being with Jenna was all I could think about.

Surely, she wasn’t leaving for New York.

  Surely not, right?

“Is this the morning after?” Jenna rolled onto her side to face me, her small breasts pressed together and her long brown hair a hot mess.

“Fuck me,” I groaned and reached for her, pulling her flush against me. “I thought last night was a dream.”

She laughed. “Um, no, but we did go through three condoms.”

“And you wanted to keep going.” I slid my hand into her hair and leaned down for a long kiss.

She pressed against the bed and rolled me on my back before sitting on my lap, her soft center beckoning my cock to wake up. “I love it. I didn’t expect sex to be so good. So freeing.”

I reached up and palmed her tits, squeezing her nipples and shifting my hips to poke at her entrance. “Get me another rubber, and you can practice riding a bull this morning.”

She rolled her eyes but went to get the condom. “You are pretty big.”

“As long as you like him.” I gripped my dick and lifted him up as she crawled back on the bed and fiddled with the rubber. She was beyond cute, and it took all I had not to laugh at her. How had this beautiful creature not been swiped up by some rich, good-hearted dude? Someone like my brother Kade?

“Ugh. I can’t figure out how to—”

“Give it here.” I plucked it from her fingers and rolled it on my erection. “This angle is deep, so be careful.”

“Don’t tell me what to do.” She reached down and took my shaft into her hand. Her other hand pressed against my chest as she lowered herself on me. We shared a groan as she pressed down and hit home.

“Fuck,” I said, lifting my hips. “Bounce on it, Jenna. Press your hands into my chest and fuck yourself until you come.”

“Yes,” she whispered so sexily it caused my damn toes to curl.

I forced myself to chill the fuck out and grabbed her hips, lifting her as she fucked me nice and hard until we both lost ourselves in the ecstasy of it. She laid down on my chest and glanced up at me as we panted in tandem.

“If I go to New York, you’ll buy a jet?”

Sickness rolled around in my stomach. “If you go to New York, then yes, I’ll buy a fucking jet.”

“Good.” She sat back up and started fucking me again.

  Jenna - One Week Later

A smile spread across my lips as I stretched in my bed. It had been a week since I’d slept with Hawke for the first time. I’d started late in my endeavors to find pleasure in my adult life, but I was making up ground fast.

There was just something so perfect about him.

I rolled onto my side and reached for my phone, pulling up a picture we’d taken a few days before at the Space Needle. My heart swelled in my chest as I made the image of him bigger and bigger until nothing but his smiling face filled up my screen.

“Why are you not taken?” I rolled onto my back and let out a girly sigh. How in the world had I ever been okay without him? Our relationship had been fast and furious, but I loved every minute of it.

My phone ringing almost caused me to drop the damn thing on my face. I sat up and cleared my throat, realizing the ring tone meant it was my mother. Great.

“Jenna?” she barked into my ear as I pressed the button.

“Morning, Mom.” I got up and stifled a groan. She was the last person I wanted to talk to—ever.

“Don’t take that tone with me.”

“Mom, I’m twenty-six. That tone is the sound of being overworked, underpaid, and tired. Forgive me. It’ll never happen again,” I retorted sarcastically as I walked to the kitchen. Sugary cereal sounded good.

“Anyway.” She gave a dramatic pause. Shocker. “I’m in town today, and you’ll need to call into your art store.”

  “Gallery, and why are y
ou here?” I looked around the apartment, realizing I was going to have to clean like a motherfucker if she was coming over. No way in hell was I going to let her give me grief for being a pig for the next ten years. She had plenty of other issues with me. My apartment being clean wasn’t going to get added to the list.

“I’m here with Robert Daniels. The President of the dance academy. We’ll be looking to meet you at one today for lunch. Find a very nice place, make reservations, and text me the information. And dress like your future depended on it, because it does.”

“Mom. I need time to think about this. I can’t call into the gallery today either. Hawke is playing golf with his brothers. It’s his first day off since—”

“I’m sorry,” she barked. “That wasn’t a request. Find a nice place for lunch, book a reservation for three, and dress appropriately for the interview. I got you an opportunity to get your life back. You will be taking it. Got it?”

“Yes, ma’am.” I hung up before I let her know the depths of my true feelings on the matter. “Bitch. I hate you so much.” I set the phone on the counter and paced around the kitchen. She had contacted me over a week before with the news that I could interview again. The fact that she’d given me seven days to think it over was most likely saintly in her book.

I grabbed the phone and called Hawke as sickness rolled through my stomach.

“Hey, baby. Make it quick. I’m just getting to the course, and I’m late for our tee time.”

The sound of his voice had my heart fluttering in my chest. Damn his brothers for being in town.

“Hey. I’m not feeling good at all this morning. I’m not sure I can make it in today. Do you think Dallen will be okay on his own?” I pressed my fingers to my lips. Why was I lying? Right. I didn’t want to get into the conversation about me moving to New York again. He was supportive, and yet, he wasn’t. I got it. I felt about the same as he did about the matter.

“No problem at all. I know Dallen will be fine. Call him. Let him know that I’m free to come back any time if he needs me. You want me over there with you?”

I smiled. “No, but thank you. Check in with me later.”

  “You know it.”

I dropped the call and shot Dallen a quick text about my mysterious sickness.

“You’re going to hell for lying.” I set the phone back down and went back to my bed, pulling my laptop from my desk as I went back. After twenty minutes of checking for the right restaurants, I decided on a super expensive one on the east side of town. A quick call, and we had reservations. I texted my mother and walked to the bathroom, grumbling about all of it.

“So fucked up.” A shower would help. Maybe.

  * * *

“Why would you wear that blouse?” My mother looked down her nose at me as I walked into the restaurant a few hours later. Mister Daniels was nowhere in sight, thankfully.

I glanced down at it and back up at her. “Good to see you, Mom. You really didn’t have to go to all of this trouble.”

“Of course, I did,” she huffed at me. “As if you were going to get your life back on track. My only daughter, working at a damn art store.”

“Gallery,” I muttered and jolted back as she stepped closer to me.

“Don’t mess this up. Do you hear me?” She lifted her pointy eyebrows.

“Yes. I hear you quite clearly.” I wasn’t going to New York. There wasn’t a chance in hell I was giving up Hawke for her or the damn dance academy. I just had to get through the lunch.

“Robert. This is Jenna. Do you remember her now?” My mom’s voice softened as she pulled me next to her and wrapped her lithe arm around my shoulders.

“Oh yes. Jenna, I’m so sorry. We have some many wonderful dancers come through the program. Forgive me.” He extended his hand and offered me a shit-eating grin. How much was my mom paying him to come to lunch in Seattle?

The thought of her still meddling in my life left me sick. Somehow, being around her left me feeling like a seven-year-old little girl that didn’t measure up, nor would I ever.

“No problem, Mr. Daniels.” I extended my hand and shook his. “Thank you so much for being willing to have lunch with us.”

“With you.” My mother released me and gave me a sweet look. “He just found out about all of the stuff that happened three years ago with you. How it took that long is beyond me, but he’s a man of integrity, right, Robert?” She turned her steely eyes on our guest.

He stiffened, pulling his shoulders back and nodding. “Absolutely. Let’s grab our seats, and we’ll talk over a lovely lunch.”

“Jenna?” The sound of Hawke’s voice surprised me.

I turned to find him and a group of guys with him. They all looked so different than him that it took me a minute to realize that the guys were his brothers. They were all adopted. None of them should have looked alike.

He moved forward to pull me into a hug, but I put my hand in the middle of his chest, my eyes wide.

“Hey, Hawke. This is my mother.” I moved back to let my mom step up beside me. “Mother. This is Hawke Miles. He owns the gallery where I work.”

“Hmm...” She extended her hand. “Nice to meet you, Hawke.”

“You too, ma’am.” He nodded before turning back to me, his expression questioning. “How are you feeling?”

“Good. Better. My mom showed up last minute and—”

“Pardon me, but you two work associates can catch up later. We’re on a tight schedule to get back to New York. Let’s not waste my time, shall we?” She gave Hawke a suck-it look, turned, and walked to the table.

He turned back to his brothers. “Grab a table, guys. I’ll be over soon.”

“Hawke.” I reached for him, but he stepped back.

“No, it’s good. We’re ‘work associates.’ Cool. Weird, but cool. Enjoy your lunch.” He nodded and turned, walking toward the group of guys teasing him about something.

Probably the fact that I had introduced him as something so much lower than he was.

And to top it off, I’d lied.

  Fuck.

  Hawke

“Dude. Who was that, and is she single?” Lars glanced up from the table, his eyes filled with challenge.

“Well, it was the girl I was fucking and falling in love with, but I guess we’re nothing more than work pals.” I sat down in the seat closest to me and let out a tight sigh. “How the fuck could she lie to me, too?”

“She’s not sick?” Kade gave me a concerned look. “She could have been earlier.”

“Did she look sick?” I barked.

“No, she looked like sex on a—” Lars started.

“Cut it out.” Zak popped him in the chest and nodded to me. “Dude, you know how parents are. Didn’t you say the girl’s mom was a controlling bitch? There’s probably more to the story than you’re seeing here. Don’t be a little bitch and get upset.”

“Yeah, bitch.” Lars caught the roll I launched at him.

“Her mother being here could only mean one thing.” I leaned back in my chair, my appetite completely gone. “She’s honestly considering going back to New York.”

“This place has a buffet, right?” Lars stood up. “I can’t sit here and listen to this love-sick shit. I’m going to eat.”

“Hope you choke, dick-lick.” Kade turned back to me. “Ignore him. He’s an asshole.”

I laughed. “He’s been an asshole for the last twenty-eight years. I’m well aware.” I forced myself not to look over my shoulder at her. “She introduced me as the guy she works for, not the one she’s been fucking for the last week and falling in love with.”

  “Again. Her mom might—”

“Her mom treated me like a nobody piece of shit, too.” I tossed my napkin up on the table. “I’m going to have to take a raincheck. I can’t sit here and pretend like she’s not behind me working to alter her future like what we got means nothing.”

“You want me to come with you?” Kade started t
o get up.

“No. I’m good.” I stood and patted his shoulder while looking over at Zak. “Check you guys later. The big event is this weekend if you get the chance to come.”

“I’ll be there.” Kade winked at me.

“Not sure, Bro. My new life is fucking with me quite a bit.” Zak took a bite out of the roll sitting on Lars’s plate. “If I can make some space, I’ll be there.”

“Good enough.” I turned and walked out, ignoring the sound of Jenna’s voice as she called my name. I wasn’t interested in anything she had to say at the moment. I knew better than to fall in love with someone. It never worked out for me.

I got on my bike and rode to the gallery, breaking several traffic laws on my way over.

  * * *

“Hey, boss. I thought you were off today?” Dallen glanced up from his kneeling position on the floor.

“I was, but we wrapped up the game early. I figured with all we have going on this weekend that you might need my help up here.” I turned around in a circle as conflicting emotions attacked me. “Damn, this looks so good.”

“Right?” He stood and pointed to one of the large concrete graffiti exhibitions. “Unfortunately, one of the guys that brought in a new piece yesterday clipped that big one. Anyway, you can touch it up for us. I know this is your jam.”

“What?” I smiled. “You knew I did spray paint art?”

“Hell yeah, I did. Firstly, your hands are covered in the stuff, and secondly, I realized it’s your signature all over town on the best pieces Seattle has to offer. I have to admit that it was a proud moment for me when I realized my boss was the bad ass that was coloring the city with beauty.”

I pressed my hand to my chest. “Wow. Thanks, dude. That means a lot to me.”

“So now that I’ve buttered you up, can you fix it?”

I laughed and nodded. “Yeah. Get out of here if you’re done. I’ll fix this up and close down early. It’s going to be a long weekend for us.”
