Hawke: The Miles Brothers Series 1 Page 10

“Well, keep whatever is in the water over here on your side of town.” He patted his chest and took a few steps back. “I’m not interested.”

“Liar.” I slipped my hands into my pockets. “Love will find you and fuck you up good. It’s going to be a pleasure to watch it happen.”

“Nope. I’m going to be single forever. Uncomplicated sex. Delicious dinners. Making pretty girls feel like a million bucks? That’s the life I want. Commitment is for the birds.” He laughed as I flipped him the bird.

  “Like these birds.”

“Asshole. I’ll check you later. Love you, little brother. So proud of you.”

“Get outta here before you make me blush.” I turned and stopped in front of the entrance to glance up. The Miles Contemporary Art Gallery had room to expand to include other arts... like dance.

  Hopefully, Jenna would agree.

“Woah! Excuse me.” Hawke moved around a group of little girls running through the hallway, their tutus bright pink and their hair up in buns. “You sure you got this under control?”

I moved closer and wrapped my arms around him. “Yes. Go over to the gallery and get ready for your showing. I can handle the first day of our dance academy. You’re going to get mowed down by little girls and their moms.”

“That was the code word for run.” He reached up and cupped my face. “I’m so proud of you, baby. You did it.”

“We did it.” I lifted up and kissed him hard. “And we need to celebrate by doing it.”

Hawke laughed, kissed me again, and walked back toward the connected entrance that would lead to our art gallery. The new buildings were perfect for what we wanted to spend our lives doing.

I walked down the hallways and took the time to catch the attention of each dance instructor, just to let them know I would be in my office if they needed me. The place was filled with the sound of joy. I was beyond excited at the future.

Had I gone to New York, I’d have given all of this up.

After closing my door, I dropped down in my chair and let out a long sigh. The morning with Hawke ran through my mind, causing my nipples to bud and my pulse to spike in a different way.

“Fuck, Jenna. Lift up farther, baby. I want to watch you take my cock.” He gripped my ass and lifted me up as I rode him reverse cowgirl. My nails dug into his thick thighs as I rolled my back and used everything I had to bring him over the edge.

I wanted a ring. Kids. Everything with him. We’d already moved in together, which was a huge blessing and relief. Making love every night and acting naughty in the mornings was the only way to start our days.

I moaned and let my head fall forward as he gripped my skin and lifted his hip, taking over our sex. He pressed farther into me and lifted me off the bed.

“Lean back and take me.” He reached up and grabbed a handful of my hair.

I cried out in pleasure and pain and bucked against him. “Better?”

He mumbled something incoherent before exploding. His moans and cries as he came threw me over the edge, and I joined him.

“I love you,” I whispered and relaxed.

  “Me more.”

“All right. No more asking questions.” Hawke got on his bike and held out his hand for me. “The day’s over and it was a success. I have something to show you, and then we’ll do dinner and dancing to celebrate.”

“There. Was that so hard?” I got on the bike behind him and wrapped myself around him before cupping his crotch. “I just wanted to know that we were eating. I’m starving.”

“I’m eating you. Not sure what you’re eating.” He started the motorcycle and took off before I could answer. Ass.

We rode to the other side of town, and I let the feeling of him against me pull the stress from the day. I had every dream I’d ever wished for, and they were my dreams. Not my mother’s, but mine.

The best one sat in front of me, his muscles twitching under my touch, his body growing hard because he wanted me, too.

“Where are we?” I asked to no one as Hawke pulled off the road in a nice part of town and stopped the bike. “Remember this thing?”

I got off the bike and walked toward the spray painting of the dark-haired man looking out the window. All the grey and black was gone. Instead, the room was as colorful as the view from the window just beyond his reach. His face was turned a little, and the turning up of a smile showed. But better than all of that was the woman he held in his arms. Dark brown hair and a red streak right down the left side.

I laughed and turned to find Hawke on his knee.

“I love you, Jenna. I know it’s only been six months, but I could have done this after six days. Marry me. I don’t want any of this if you’re not in it. Be mine, baby.”

“Hawke.” I put my hands to my mouth and got down on my knees on the concrete in front of me. “I’m already yours.” I took the ring as tears filled my eyes and crashed into him. He let out an “oomph” as we hit the ground together but didn’t say a word. He couldn’t with my lips pressed to his.

We would both be living our dreams—because of each other.
