“Yeah, I know. I was worried I’d pushed you too far.”
She squeezed his arm. How could she explain she felt amazing? Loved and cared for yet oddly free and settled at the same time. “You didn’t. It was exactly what I’ve been dreaming about for years.”
“I know.”
She froze. He knew? “How?”
“I heard you talking to Hope in the coffee shop. It was then I realized you might be able to handle the fact I like to dominate women. I knew it was a risk but I’ve wanted you for so damn long.”
Ruth smiled. He had heard them! She’d wondered if he had.
“So I made a plan. Told Ethan. He threatened to kick my ass if I hurt you.”
She chuckled. “You did hurt me. But in a good way.”
“I want more, Ruth. I love you. No more games. No more playing. You and me. I want us. All the time. Can you handle that?”
Her heart flip-flopped. It was what she’d been hoping for all along. She’d always wanted Dominic. She’d always wanted kink. Now she had both. Life could surprise you sometimes.
“I love you too.” She snuggled back against him, thinking of all the adventures they had to come. “And I can definitely handle that.”
