That trust would undoubtedly be tested in the coming days.

  * * * *

Janie yawned and tried to stretch, but her cuffs got in her way. They’d been driving for what felt like days but probably had been only hours. She couldn’t really tell, given her position, but she could sense that they’d arrived at their destination when Tex finally turned the wheel off the smooth road and onto a pitted one that had her bouncing slightly across the back seat.

He went slowly, and the angle of the car felt as if it was headed straight up a hill from hell. Outside the windows, all Janie could make out were the tops of an endless sea of pine trees and knew that they were far from the city now. A green metal roof and a brick chimney came into view as Tex finally brought the SUV to a stop, and Janie knew they’d arrived at their destination. She also knew now that escape was impossible.

Brick and Tex had set themselves up as bait, and there was nothing she could do about it now. That didn’t mean she’d give up and simply let them take unnecessary risks, but she would have to be clever about her next move. Clever and quiet, that was just what Janie remained as both Brick and Tex got out of the truck and opened up the back doors to free her from her cuffs.

She expected to be hogtied once again and carted into whatever place they’d brought her to, but they left her free to move, except for the hand Tex caught and used to drag her out of the truck. Janie’s other hand quickly went to the sheet wrapped around her, assuring it kept her nakedness covered as she fumbled out of the SUV and onto the path of pine straw that served as the front yard for the cabin before her.

It looked aged and small, a simple box wrapped up in a porch that went all the way around. Two small windows flanked either side of the door, and the front didn’t look as though it stretched beyond twenty feet. The smallness of the cabin became even clearer as Tex dragged her up the three short steps that led to the plank floorboards of the porch.

He didn’t even need a key to unlock the door. All he had to do was turn the handle, and then Janie was being pulled into the musty, woodsy smell of a small room with an even tinier kitchen tucked into the back corner. Just like Tex’s house, only smaller, a short hallway led back to what was, no doubt, the bedroom and a bathroom. Janie sighed, not impressed by her new cage in the slightest or by the grin Tex wore as he turned to face her.

“Welcome to your temporary home, honey.”

“Oh, goody. I always wanted a new temporary home,” Janie declared without any real enthusiasm but still managed to get a laugh from Tex.

“That’s the spirit,” he encouraged her with a genuine charm that worked to crack Janie’s cool façade. Of course, she didn’t want to give in too easily, lest he or Brick discover her true motives.

“I’ll show you the spirit,” Janie grumbled, eliciting another laugh from Tex.

“Now, now, honey. Don’t twist your sheet all in a knot…or you just might lose it, too,” Tex warned her, earning him a smack on the back of his head from Brick, who had joined them in the cabin.

“What smartass here meant to say was you might as well settle down because there is nowhere to run,” Brick interpreted for his cousin.

“And nothing to run away in,” Janie said, completing that thought. “Right?”

Brick didn’t answer that question, but his frown spoke volumes as he turned to nod at Tex. “Come on, man, let’s go help Logan and Bruce set up the perimeter security system.”

With that, Brick headed back out the door, but Tex hesitated, daring to step up close to Janie and smile down at her.

“You know when you frown like that it makes me want to do this,” Tex murmured as his head dipped as low as his tone and his lips brushed across hers.

One, twice, three times in a smooth, gentle caress, his mouth teased hers before settling down to press against her lips with enough strength to force them open. Then he kissed her as if he’d never have a chance to kiss her again, his tongue invading her mouth with a merciless demand that had her knees weakening with a lust too potent to deny. Janie didn’t even try.

Instead, she clung to him, giving herself over to the heat and passion that only Tex and Brick provoked within her. Her tongue lifted to duel with his, and the seconds slipped by into minutes as they battled for supremacy. Tex won, claiming total control of the kiss, leaving Janie breathless and weak in the knees by the time he pulled back.

It was with a bit of pride that she noticed that Tex didn’t appear to be too steady either. The thumb that rubbed across her cheek as he cupped her jaw trembled slightly, proving that he was just as affected by their kiss as she was, but he sounded cocky as ever.

“Now be a good girl, honey, and I’ll give you another treat when I get back.”

With that, Tex dropped another quick kiss on her nose and sauntered out of the cabin, leaving Janie biting back a laugh. He really was too cute, too cute and way too aggravating for any woman’s peace of mind. That didn’t mean she completely forgot her worries.

They reared back to the forefront of her thoughts as she shuffled over to the still-open door and watched Brick and Tex move off to join Logan and Bruce in their truck. Then they were tearing around the cabin and disappearing from view, leaving Janie staring at nothing but the trees.

The brush had been cleared back, and she could almost make the road out down the slope of the hill the cabin sat on, but Janie didn’t set out to escape. Instead, she closed the door and started taking stock of what had been left in the cabin. It turned out not much had been stored there, but she did find several bolts of rope that she moved from the small closet to beneath the bed.

Janie could easily guess where she’d end up, stuck in the middle of that bed, and made sure she could reach each rope without moving around too much. She’d have to be stealthy when the time came, or she’d end up being the one who got tied up. That idea didn’t dissuade her from her plans for a second.

Either way, Janie knew she’d end up the winner.

  * * * *

Tex whistled while he worked, feeling chipper and more than a little excited to get the security system set up and his ass back to Janie. Of course, he didn’t help much to accomplish that goal, his thoughts too distracted by the idea of her waiting at the cabin for him with nothing to wear. That was how he’d like to keep her, ready and waiting on him every day of the week, not that he was fool enough to think she’d let him get away with that.

“Man, watch what you’re doing!” Logan complained as he all but shoved Tex out of the way once again. “You’re wiring everything backward.”

“That’s because he’s got his head screwed on backward,” Bruce muttered, prompting Tex to stick his tongue out at his cousin.

He caught Brick’s gaze in the process and knew that the big man wasn’t amused. Uptight and tense as always, Brick stewed silently, his thoughts easy enough to read in his dour expression. He was worried. There was no stopping that train, so Tex didn’t even try.

What he did do was answer Janie’s phone when it beeped. A text scrolled across the screen, and Tex couldn’t help but snicker.

“What?” Brick finally broke his silence. “You get a response from the twerp?”

“Yeah.” Text read the message out loud, pushing his voice up high to match the girly words with a girly tone. “I’m so happy for you. I wish you all the best. Love forever, Ken…What a pussy.”

“So much for your bait,” Brick muttered. “He doesn’t exactly sound upset enough to make a move.”

“Oh, shut up,” Tex shot back, irritated that his plan wasn’t going as well as he hoped.

Still, he didn’t doubt his conclusions for a moment, just his ability to push Big Bob’s hand. Obviously Tex would need a new plan. He pondered his options as he followed his cousins around while they set up the sensors that would trigger a silent alarm and warn them of anything over five feet tall from getting close to the house without them knowing. Cameras attached to the sensors would allow them to see just who, or what, had broken the
ir perimeter.

It took a while to set the whole system up and test it. By the time they had finished, the sun had already started to set behind the heavy canopy of treetops overhead. Logan and Bruce moved off to take their position behind the perimeter while Tex led the way back to Janie with Brick following behind at slightly slower pace.

Tex didn’t pay any mind to his cousin, rushing forward as he considered just what was waiting for him back at the cabin. If he was lucky, Janie had passed out and he’d be able to take advantage of her before she woke up and started cocking more attitude. On the other hand, Tex kind of liked it when she got all stiff and indignant. It made it more of a challenge.

Whatever he expected, though, he walked into the surprise of his life when he found Janie awake and ready with dinner and a smile. She’d cut his sheet up and had tailored it to look like a skirt and shirt that even appeared stitched together. Big Bob must have had some kind of sewing kit around, which was odd enough, but the dinner was even stranger.

Somehow, someway, Janie had managed to turn the utilitarian supply of canned goods his uncle kept stocked in the cabin into a dinner that looked like a romantic feast. There were even candles lit on the table, framing a centerpiece made out of pinecones and bits of greenery. To complete the image, Janie stood beside the table wearing a smile that warned Tex that she was up to no good.

“I made dinner,” Janie said, stating the obvious. “I thought you two might be hungry after all the work you’ve been doing.”

“Uh-huh.” Tex eyed the table doubtfully. “And is it drugged?”

“What?” Janie blinked in honest shock before stiffening up with true indignation. “No! Why would you even ask that?”

“Because the last time I checked, you weren’t particularly happy with either Brick or me,” Tex pointed out, earning a snort from Brick, who brushed past Tex with a mutter.

“Leave me out of this.” Brick crossed the room to drop a quick kiss on Janie’s cheek. “Thanks, honey, I’m hungry.”

“You’re welcome,” Janie responded before pointedly turning her stare back on Tex, but he wasn’t about to be fooled so easily.

“Hey, I’m still waiting on an explanation.” Tex wouldn’t budge until he got one.

“An explanation?” Janie lifted a brow at that.

  “Yeah, on why you’re smiling.”

“Why wouldn’t I?” Janie shot back. “What would be the point of frowning? You’ve won. I can admit it, and I’m not the type of person to fight the obvious.”

“Uh-huh.” That sounded good but not right.

“Fine. Just stand there while Brick and I have a lovely dinner.” With that grand announcement, Janie turned her back on Tex, leaving him little choice but to as she said or to cave.

He was hungry, and for more than food.

  * * * *

Janie smiled to herself as Tex gave in. He had a right to be suspicious, but that didn’t mean she’d drugged the food. She might have if she’d had drugs, but Big Bob’s cabin hadn’t been stocked with any. She considered herself lucky enough that she’d found the cans of food and the small sewing kit that had allowed her to feel, at least, somewhat dressed.

The same could be said of the dinner. It was somewhat good, better than Janie expected, given what she had to work with. Not that Tex or Brick complained. They devoured everything in sight, complimenting her with almost every bite. The food seemed to work its magic, as both men relaxed and the conversation began to flow freely, even without the benefit of wine or beer.

For the next hour, Janie forgot about her worries and her plan, simply enjoying the company of both men. They laughed and argued, a thrilling sense of excitement building in the air as the meal drew to a close. Janie knew just what they were thinking.

There was no TV, no board games, nothing to entertain themselves but each other. So Janie thought, but Brick and Tex surprised her when, instead of making any kind of move, they suggested they move out to the porch and simply talk. Janie didn’t object, even if she was a little disappointed. Disappointed and anxious, she had a plan, after all. It started with tiring them out with several rounds of strenuous sex.

Janie didn’t worry, though, that they wouldn’t get there.

She didn’t worry about anything. It was hard to with the peace and silence of the night surrounding her and the warm comfort of both men sitting beside her on the rocking chairs that littered the back end of the wraparound porch. Brick held one hand, and Tex held the other as they all slowly swayed in their seats, talking about much of nothing until the conversation took an odd turn and they ended up discussing what they wanted out of the future.

Brick’s and Tex’s dreams were simple and matched. Each man wanting a few kids, a house, and wife to look after both. Janie knew that, as a modern woman, she should rebel against such a stereotypical expectation of her role in the family, but the truth was that was just what she wanted.

She didn’t love or hate her job. It was just a job. Not a career, not a vision of her future. Her dreams, instead, centered around the idea of a packed Thanksgiving table and Christmases full of love and laughter and kids running around screaming and giggling. She wanted to kiss booboos and help with homework. Mostly she just wanted to be a mom and to have the certainty that her husband could be relied on to help.

Janie knew that she could definitely rely on Tex and Brick. If not one then the other, and between the two of them, she’d never have to bear all the responsibility alone. That had her mind reeling with what felt like attainable dreams as they sat there with the stars shining overhead.

  Chapter Nine

Tex felt better than he ever had. Sitting out on the porch with Janie just talking had a calming effect on his senses. The blood thickened in his veins, his heart slowing to a steady thump as a warmth filled him with a sense of both contentment and a yearning for more. He wanted Janie, wanted her like he’d never wanted anybody else.

Slowly that need grew into an insistent demand, but Tex fought the urges filling him, not wanting to lose a second of this moment. Soon, though, the need grew too great, and he found himself stretching his legs as he stood up, taking Janie with him with a simple tug of his hand. A second tug had her falling forward into his arms.

It would have been easy to take advantage, and Janie clearly expected him to. Her chin lifted, her lips pouting into a pucker in anticipation of a kiss. Tex denied her, knowing that once he started he wouldn’t stop. He wasn’t about to put that kind of show on for Logan or Bruce. So, instead, he swept Janie up into his arms and carried her back into the cabin and toward the door that led to the small bedroom.

Only then did he set her down onto her feet and claim her mouth in a kiss meant to deprive her of every thought. His plan backfired as his own brain turned to mush. Janie’s sweet taste flooded through him, melting away all other concerns and leaving him completely at the mercy of the lust pounding through him.

That heat spun completely out of control as Janie melted against him, submitting to the demands of his tongue without a single hint of hesitation. Her submission fueled his need to dominate, and it was with rough, frantic hands that Tex began to tear the sheet from Janie’s body until he finally felt the smooth, silken feel of her skin beneath his fingers.

He filled them with the plush, softness of her ass, gripping her cheeks in a tight hold that had Janie moaning and her legs shifting against his. Tex felt her knee bend, sliding up the outside edge of his jeans as her pelvis tilted, grinding the wet folds of her cunt into the thick ridge of his erection, which strained behind the cold teeth of his zipper.

That metal barrier kept him from taking her right there and then, but nothing stopped him from sliding his fingertips down the crease of her ass to the molten well of her pussy. Her folds were swollen and parted, dripping with the slick proof of her arousal. The heated cream thickened beneath his fingers as he caught her clit beneath one hard tip and began to roll the sensitive nub. Another roll had her moaning, her head tipped bac
k, her lips breaking free of his as they went slack with a gasp.

Tex couldn’t help but tease her again, enjoying the flush that filled her cheeks as her nails bit deep into his shoulders. Janie was so beautiful, completely irresistible in her passion. The sight of her pleasure, the heady scent of her desire, the feel of her arching into his touch combined with every little sound falling from her lips hypnotized him, enslaving him to his own wanton impulses.

Tex sank to his knees, his mouth trailing kisses down over the arch of her neck and the heaving mounds of her breasts. He tasted the quivering trembles of her stomach before finally reaching the smooth mound that lead him to a paradise beyond words. Tex breathed deep as he buried his face in the softness of her cunt and savored the moment before licking out his tongue to taste the heavenly cream coating her folds.

Her taste filled him with a need he couldn’t deny. He lifted her leg over his shoulder as he opened his mouth and began to devour her sweet flesh. In the distance, Tex heard Janie cry out, but that didn’t slow him down none. He had no mercy and took none, having no mind left to even consider how hard he was driving Janie. It didn’t matter because he wanted to drive her insane just like she’d driven him.

Over and over again, he fucked his tongue into the tight clench of her sheath, licking back out to tease her clit until she cried out. As he fucked his way into the spasming walls of her cunt, he could feel the need leaking out of his cock, even as her release coated his tongue. Much as his balls ached, Tex didn’t give in to the urge to release them as he screwed Janie through one orgasm and right into the next.

He just kept going until she was pleading with desperate, breathless chants for him to both stop and give her more. He had more to give, but so did Brick. Tex had forgotten all about his cousin. Brick reminded him of his presence as he pulled Janie out of Tex’s arms and tossed her onto the bed. Before Tex could respond, much less complain, Brick had Janie mounted and penetrated.
