“‘Cause you are the most organized out of all of us.” Michael was right but not sure why that would have anything to do with the mail. Bunch of assholes, but I had to love them because they were my brothers, at least that was what Ma and Dad told me every time I was caught pounding on one of them.

Another piece of junk went into the trashcan under the desk, and just like always one envelope from the many of any importance. I needed to get this shit done so I could get to the meeting with Cal and Sean who were both helping out in different ways.

“Bro, how long does it take to go through the damn mail? We need your back for some of this shit.” Falon walked up front followed by Michael.

  “Shut the fuck up, Falon.”

“Seriously, I think you have been grouchy since the day I was born and you lost your spot as the youngest boy in the family to me,” Falon said, leaning on the desk.

“Anything I need to look at?” Michael asked as he came around the desk. I looked up at him, his face relaxed and it should be, he was happy and had been walking around the last week or so with a smile that no matter what was said, it wouldn’t go away. My brothers and friends were dropping left and right. I couldn’t even imagine finding a woman that could put me in perpetual bliss like they had. I never found a fraction of that with any woman I had been with. I looked to Falon and felt sorry for the bastard, his was coming, once he realized he wasn’t going to have a choice but to go down. Now that was going to be fun to watch. Maybe I did need to take a few days off, find a woman and try to lose myself in her, ‘cause around here I wasn’t getting a break, sex was everywhere, it seemed everyone was getting laid but me. My brothers, my friends, I couldn’t get away from it, even in the gym. Earlier when I went to enter the sauna in the back, thank fuck I had heard Xavier’s voice before I opened the door. Christ, the moaning from the woman he had in there was like being outside while a porn played in the house, heard it but didn’t witness it. Nope, got the hell out of there when I heard “You like my cock, take it deep, you’re going to swallow it all.” All I thought as I walked away was I wonder what skank he had in there and that Fin was going to need to disinfect the place. Even Ranger was falling if the way he watched Maria was any indication, like he didn’t want a bite, he wanted the whole thing. I shook my head, thinking about that shit could make a man crazy.

I opened the envelope from the NY State Department of Health, “No, this is probably some new update on safety dealing with the procedures for health and bloodborne diseases.” I pulled the paper out just as the roar of a motorcycle was heard that had us looking toward the front of the shop where a biker had pulled into one of the spots.

“What the hell?” I glanced down, reading the paper. Michael leaned over my shoulder to read. I flipped the envelope back over to look at the address.

  Yep, it was the shop’s.

“Who the fuck is Petal Denold?” I asked as the bell on the door signaled someone had just walked in.

“That would be me. I’m your piercer.” I looked at the tiny woman who held a helmet under her arm, her dark brown hair held back with a bandana, dark blue eyes taking us all in, a pierced eyebrow, nose, and lip, her ears with multiple studs, and under the leather jacket she wore that she was currently unzipping, showed the low cut top underneath and the tip of a tattoo peeking out from between her large plump breasts.

“Fuck me.” There were no other words.

“Not until I get to know you, big guy.”

Yeah, my life just got complicated.

  Excerpt from Rain Falls

  Lady Riders Book One

  By Harley McRide

“Dammit. She’s trouble, but I gotta say even though I fucking hate to admit it, she is the good kind of trouble. I’ve always known it. Case in point, that bullshit we just heard, she is gonna need us at her back.” Knight went back to tattooing, his attitude worse than normal. It pissed him off knowing Rain would never have thought to confide in him.

“Yeah. Seems to me she’s the right kind of trouble. Damn that ass…” Charro said and Knight paused for a second, an idea was beginning to form but Charro just didn’t know yet.

“Pain in the ass. Fuckin’ huge. We need to cut her loose before she brings this shitstorm down on us.” Knight saw Kink walk up.

“What the fuck? She fucked up, but seriously are you going to sit there telling me you haven’t ever fucked up? Gotta get her the fuck out, and figure out what the hell we’re gonna do about this shit. The chick before was a selfish bitch, she admitted it, but that isn’t who she is now. You and I both know it. The others, yeah, we may need to do some convincing ‘cause the crap we have been dealing with is fresh,” Kink said and looked at the ceiling. “Some of the guys don’t even want the Lady Riders to even exist, they are just humoring them, but I have seen them in action, all of them, and they are mean as fuck and can handle a lot of crap,” Kink said to the two men and both were silent trying to think about what they’d just heard.

Knight wasn’t sure how the fuck he felt, Rain was a pain in the ass, but Charro was right, he could feel it, one man wasn’t going to handle her alone. To be truthful, he didn’t want to, he had already come to terms with the fact he liked ménages, but had never found anyone he would be willing to share a woman with. But as he sat and thought about it, Charro was a man he trusted, someone he knew would always have his back, he had proved it. They just needed to see if they could deal with it, and it wasn’t a conversation to have with him in front of Kink.

“Don’t you think that’s a little hard? You told her it wasn’t her fault,” Charro, the pathetic bastard, spoke. Knight shook his head but continued shading in the skull on Charro’s forearm.

“She was a spoiled rich bitch, but she kept that shit from the club, it could go either way, man. Got herself in a bind, and instead of trusting us to help her, she kept quiet, the guys won’t be happy with that shit. Hell, it’s a wonder Shady didn’t slit her throat right there and then today. She’s gone from the clubhouse until we can figure this shit out. Knight, since you are here and decided to stay, you need to know she will be here too. If that is going to be a problem, man, tell me now. If not, I need your help.”

“Hold up, that shit goes to vote, Kink.” Knight had stopped, and for some reason spoke up, “We are going to have to move real fast to get that stopped.”

“Yeah, I know, that is why I need your ass to step up. Jesus, do you think you can think with your big head and not your little one for three seconds?” Kink’s pissy attitude had Knight and Charro bowing up. Charro was pissed too about the whole situation
and Kink didn’t have the energy or time to wonder why.

“Fuck this, when you make up your mind let me the fuck know.” Kink took off to the back, mumbling and cussing. He didn’t want her tossed out, shit it was gonna suck going in by himself with this shit. The Ladies should have her back, by the sounds of it though they didn’t. As fucked up as it was, it was a test to see how they’d handle the hierarchy of managing a club, the guys would be watching. If they united and stood for her, then maybe they had their shit together. If not, their club would be the next to be sent packing. He knew Creed and Fork, they would use this as a test, hell, they might even seriously want Rain out, but either way, he was going to do his best to make sure that didn’t happen.

  Excerpt from Speed

  Black Hawk MC Book One

  By Carson Mackenzie

“You’re an ass!” was yelled from a pint-sized woman in a deputy’s uniform as she faced off with my brother, Crusher. I stepped in and leaned against the doorframe to take in the show. No one had even turned when I walked in, all attention focused on Crusher and the deputy.

Sheriff Lance stood next to the deputy. He’d been the sheriff in these parts since I could remember. The club was lucky to have his backing, he never hassled us. But he expected us to tow the line in return or at least if we did do something, he didn’t want to hear about it.

“Now, sugar, is that nice to say?” Crusher said, a smile plastered on his face. He towered over the woman with his six three height, but it didn’t faze the little thing.

“Don’t sugar me you walking sack of sh—” The deputy was cut off by the sheriff standing beside her and from my vantage point, I couldn’t see his face, but if the shaking of his head was any indication, it maybe wasn’t the first time he’d been put in this situation.

“Deputy, don’t go there. Christ, I brought you out here so we could get this settled,” Sheriff Lance said on a sigh.

“He started it when he passed me on the road. They all,” the deputy’s arm waved in front to include some of the surrounding brothers, “flew by me. Mr. Davis just happened to be the only one who flipped me off,” the deputy finished and crossed her arms over her chest.

“Now wait a damn minute…” Crusher paused, looked up, and before I knew what was happening, he headed in my direction, all but knocking the deputy out of the way.

“Goddammit, Speed, it’s good to see you, brother,” Crusher yelled out as he wrapped his arms around me and lifted me off the ground. The fucker had always been as strong as an ox, ‘cause I am anything but a lightweight.

“Didn’t want to interrupt the cop powwow. Nice to know nothing’s changed while I was away.” I hugged Crusher back and we shook hands. Then the room erupted as the rest of my brothers made it to me.

“What the fuck, Speed. Why didn’t you tell us you were coming back?” Stroker said and gave me a man hug.

“Wanted to surprise you guys, Prez.”

“Well that you did, son,” the Prez said and stepped away making room for the others to get in back slaps and handshakes.

As I looked around at the familiar faces of my family, there was several missing, “Where’s Devil, Coast, Flirt, and Jag?”

“They’re in town. When they get home, we’ll go down to the strip club and have some fun. Give you a chance to rest and get your stuff settled at your place while we wait on them. You been by the place?” Crusher asked and all I could do was shake my head in reply. It would be the first time back in the cabin after Cutter’s death and in one instance I was happy to be back but in another, I knew it would feel different without him around.

“Jesus, another one. Now the reunion is over, do you think we can get this taken care of before I grow old?” Hell, looked like we’d all forgot about the sheriff and deputy in the room.

“Ah, sweet cheeks, you feeling neglected?” Crusher turned and spoke to the deputy and from the fire shooting out of her eyes, I expected him to burn to ashes in front of me.

Just as she opened her mouth to speak again the sheriff cut her off, “Carly, let’s go. Time to let these gentlemen be with their friend.” Sheriff Lance started for the door, the deputy following and none too happy by the expression on her face.

“Glad to have you home, Speed. Let’s see how long you can be back without getting a ticket,” the sheriff laughed and patted me on the back as he walked out the door.

“Never going to live that shit down, am I?” I really wasn’t asking a question, ‘cause they hadn’t let me forget back then, so why the hell should now be any different. But one could hope.

Most of the men in the room chuckled and then disbursed to do their thing. I was back and each would catch up with me sooner or later.

“You done this time, Speed?” Stroker asked.

“Yeah, had enough. It was time to come home,” I said, which was the truth for the most part. I’d re-upped before I came back for my dad’s funeral, knowing I wouldn’t be able to stay around the club with him gone. The Marines kept me busy enough not to think about him every day but his death still bothered me. Questions plagued my mind at night when it was dark and quiet and I had time to think on things other than trying to stay alive myself.

  About the Authors

  Harley McRide

I was on the back of a bike as soon as I was big enough to hold on. My love of the lifestyle, combined with my experience and imagination drove me to writing.

Now that my two kids are grown and off to college, my husband and I enjoy the great outdoors with our three great Danes: Bowser, Killer, and Maddie.

I grew up in Illinois, moving from place to place with my single mother until I was twelve. I now call the little town of Arkadelphia, Arkansas home. With its small town charm and population just over 10,000, it is the perfect place to hit the open road. When I need to get away, the hot springs are my go to unwind spot located less than thirty minutes from my cabin in the woods.

  Carson Mackenzie

Carson lives in New Mexico with her two sons and her five Great Danes. Books have always been a part of her life. Nothing is better to Carson than curling up and relaxing with a good story, losing herself in someone else’s world while leaving hers behind for awhile.

As a new author she hopes to bring you into her different worlds, giving you a chance to escape everyday responsibilities, if only for a few hours.
