Even though Eduard Faron had been so brutally murdered, there was absolutely nothing to link this to Dubois; the sudden death of Pantin was glibly explained away. The word of his sister would not really help to further the case especially as there seemed to be an official verdict of suicide.
Lefevre called Ari about the report, but Ari was non-committal and Lefevre ended the conversation, saying quickly that he couldn’t see that there was any concrete connection anyway.
