A Christmas Gift Page 32

by Sue Moorcroft

The Daily Snoop articles were only possible because Rachel Henry put her fantastic journalistic skills to work on my behalf and signposted me to the resources I needed.

And though it was inadvertent, Ashley Panter gave me the title of the students’ Christmas show by texting a typo when she texted me ‘A very kerry Christmas, Auntie Sue’. Trevor Moorcroft aided my memory of the pub in Brighton called The Hungry Years.

As always, loads of social media friends answered questions or gave me insight. If ever I need opinions or experiences I just go onto Facebook or Twitter and ask!

My friend and good writing buddy Mark West (www.markwest.org.uk) has beta-read just about every book I’ve ever written and entertains me with his pithy comments. I was delighted to be able to return the compliment this year and write ‘And … breathe!’ next to one of his long sentences, as he so often has with mine.

Team Sue Moorcroft continues to support me and celebrate with me and I could not be more grateful. Thanks to every single one of you, especially Mick Arnold for ‘Whispering Court’ and Sue McDonagh/Jayne Curtis for ‘the Daily Snoop’.

And thanks to the person from my own school days who inspired this book. I doubt you’ll ever know that you did, or why I looked back after so many years and began to suspect what your situation had been. I’ve heard you have a happy life now, and I’m sincerely glad.
