Reed chuckled. “I love to hear you beg.”

“Stop playing with me. Say the words.”

“I love it when you laugh,” Reed said.

Reed rolled over, pinning Nathan to the bed. Their morning woods pressed up against his abdomen. “Tell me.”

“I love it when you submit.”

Nathan growled, trying to squirm away from Reed, but he didn’t get very far. Reed was doing something really sexy with his tongue against his neck. Nathan closed his eyes as he spread his legs. He groaned when the tip of Reed’s cockhead pressed against his rim. “You’re such a tease.”

“I love it when you want me,” Reed said.

Nathan arched his head back, biting his lip as Reed’s cockhead started to press against his rim. The doorbell rang, stopping both of them.

“Are you expecting someone?” Nathan asked.

Reed glanced at the clock on the nightstand. Nathan did, too. It was nearly noon. “No. I’m not. I’ll be right back.”

Reed pulled on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Nathan sat up, pulling the sheet around his hips. Curiosity had him pulling on a pair of jeans and following Reed. From the top of the stairs, Nathan saw Reed open the front door. Chief Anderson stood on the other side. Nathan tried to step back, but it was too fucking late. The chief’s gaze went from Reed to Nathan standing shirtless at the top of the stairs. There was no way for Nathan to run and hide. He decided to head down the stairs to be with Reed.

“Uh, is this a bad time?”

Reed shook his head no. “Come on in.”

Chief Anderson looked around the unfinished house. “You need some help with all this?”

“Nathan’s going to help me,” Reed said. “What’s up?”

The Chief paced. “Uh. It’s about your brother. He’s getting a divorce.”

  “Fuck…”

“Yeah, he…came out to Michelle last night. He’s pretty broken up about her leaving with Nia,” James said. “I thought you might be able to help him through this.”

“Sure. I’ll give him a call,” Reed said.

Nathan saw Reed’s father cut his gaze between the two of them as though he wanted to know the truth but was unsure of how to ask.

“We started dating shortly after we met,” Nathan said.

“I like you, Nathan. You’re a good fit for Reed. A real good fit. I hope David can find someone just as special. Did you decide on that job?”

Reed’s mouth dropped open. “Uh, will it be a problem?”

“No. I don’t care who you love or marry, Reed. Your mom just wants more grandchildren. So, you two need to figure that out.”

“Yes. I’ll take the job,” Reed said.

“Great. I’ll make sure your office is ready by Monday.” Chief Anderson ran his hand through his hair. “I have a new trainer coming in from the Academy today.”

  “Oh?” Reed asked.

“Shawn O’Leary. He’s the next person to deal with on my list today.”

Chief Anderson headed for the door. Nathan went to Reed, putting his hand on his shoulder. “Thanks, Dad. It means the world to us.”

“Just be good to him, Stow, or I’ll break your legs.”

A chuckle sounded deep within Nathan’s throat. “He was not kidding.”

“He wasn’t. I think he means it.”

“I know Shawn O’Leary,” Nathan said.

  “What’s wrong, babe?”

The last thing Nathan wanted to do was spoil the moment with talk about the man who nearly ended his law enforcement career with the CPD. “I think he’s a sadist when it comes to training people.”

Reed grinned. “Sounds like a real jerk.”

“Hey, you’ve never been in one of his classes. I’d stay away from him,” Nathan said.

  “Noted. Now come here.”

  “Why?”

Reed danced closer to Nathan, putting his hands on Nathan’s hips. “I have something I want to talk about with you.”

Before he could stop it from happening, Nathan had the marriage word bounce around in his head. They were seriously dating, but the M word hadn’t been given airtime within his head.

  “Nathan?”

  “Yes?”

Reed backed him against the wall. “Will you make me the happiest man in the world…”

  “Yes?”

“And make me breakfast?” Reed finished.

  “You’re such a fucking tease!”

“What?” Reed asked. “You want me down on one knee for this?”

Reed got down on his knee. Nathan’s breath caught deep within his chest as he stared down into Reed’s beautiful eyes. “Nathan? Will you make me the happiest man in the world and…fry me up some bacon too?”

“Fuck you! Make your own damn breakfast! I won’t be eating breakfast sausage with you anytime soon!”

Reed laughed as Nathan pulled away. Reed grabbed him around the waist, pulling him back against his chest.

“Nathan? Will you marry me?” Reed asked.

Nathan’s heart raced. “I want a wedding on a sandy white beach with all our family and friends.”

“Is that a yes?” Reed asked.

“Yes. I would love to marry you.”

Reed pulled Nathan around, kissing him hard. Nathan couldn’t believe he found the love of his life. He always imagined that this day would come. He couldn’t believe that Reed was going to marry him. Nathan had everything he ever wanted in his arms.

“I want you to move in with me as we plan our wedding,” Reed said. “I want to marry you before the holidays hit. I want everyone to know that you’re my husband.”

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love you, Reed.

I love you more, babe. I always will.
