It was the perfect time to tell them about me stripping as well, but after talking about Leon, I couldn’t handle any more questions or them feeling bad because I couldn’t be open with them. I just needed a breather away from my life situations and now that the door was closed, I didn’t want to open it again. So I didn’t, I sat next to Missy and continued enjoying our ladies day out.
Chapter 21
Syn
A week had gone by and I still hadn’t heard a word from Parker. I would have thought that since I had his car, he would’ve been trying to track me down. But he hadn’t. After day three of not hearing from him, I called his phone. When I didn’t get a reply, I left a voicemail and even texted him, but still nothing. I was starting to get worried that something may have happened to him.
The night at the club was slower than usual and I was ready to take my ass home. I worked the floors, dancing for random dudes as I’d done many times before. That night was no different from any other. I grinded myself against the man while mentally rolling my eyes as I felt him get hard under me. He dropped some ones on me while letting his hands roam.
Grabbing his wrist, I moved his hands and stood up. My ass shook in his face and his hand slapped my booty hard. I wanted to turn around and slap the shit out of him for hitting me that damn hard. But being the professional dancer that I was, I didn’t. I continued grinding and shaking my ass for him until the song was over.
I finished the dance, picked up my money that had fallen on the floor, and then walked away from the man. I looked around the club for a nice group of hoods. I spotted one group in particular. A glare quickly covered my face as I stared at Parker’s crowd. I made my way over to the table.
I’d been calling his ass nonstop and he couldn’t answer or respond to a text, but he could come to my job. When I made it to the table, Vixen was dancing in front of Parker, but he didn’t seem too interested in what she was doing as he talked to Chris.
“Hey,” I called to Parker, getting his attention.
He looked up at me. “Syn, baby, what’s up?” He smiled.
My eyes rolled at him before they slid to Vixen. I waved her off. “You can move.”
Chris started laughing. “Damn, how the fuck you gon’ tell baby to move?” He asked me before looking at Vixen. “Shorty, you good. Keep doing you,” he told her before smacking her on the ass hard.
“Syn ain’t talkin’ ‘bout shit,” Vixen waved me off before she turned to Parker. “You enjoying the dance?” She asked him.
Rolling my eyes at her, I held my hand out for him to take. “Baby, come on, let’s go talk.” To my surprise he didn’t hesitate to take my hand.
“I’ll catch up with you niggas later.” He shook up with Chris before throwing up two fingers at Jason and Mane.
As I began to lead us towards the back, Parker’s arms came around my waist. “How long before you off?”
I didn’t answer him at first, I waited until we were in a private room. I took his arms from my waist and turned to stare at him. “So you don’t know how to return a call or a text?” I asked, getting straight to the point.
His brow rose. “Yeah, I can do both of those. Why?” He sat down on the couch.
“Why? Because it’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything from you. I called and texted you, Parker. You really gon’ ask why? Seriously?” I fussed at him.
“I told you my phone was gon’ be off for a few days. I’m just becoming available, why you think I’m here?” His nonchalant tone and shrug was starting to piss me off.
“Well, you could’ve called me before you got here. It wouldn’t have hurt you to send a message saying, Hey, Syn, I’m still breathing,” I continued to fuss at him. “But I’m glad that you’re okay.”
Parker barked out a laugh. “Damn, who would’ve thought Syn had a heart? So you’re pissed because you was worried about me?” He grabbed my arms and pulled me to him.
“No, I wasn’t worried. I’m just saying. Don’t go disappearing without calling, especially when I have your car,” I lied. The crooked twist of his lips had me looking away as a stupid smile started to form on my lips. “Whatever, man.”
“It ain’t no reason to lie, I get it,” he pulled me into his lap. “You was scared something had happened to me?” His lips stretched into a crooked smirk.
My eyes rolled and I looked away from him. I bit into my lower lip trying hard not to smile.
Parker took hold of my chin and turned my face back toward his. He lowered his face to mine. I didn’t pull away like I would normally have, instead I moved closer to him.
“Oh, yeah, you missed me. You willingly trying to kiss me now? When this happen?” He picked with a laugh.
“You’re an asshole. No, I didn’t miss you, but yeah I was kind of worried that something may have happened. I mean, I have your car and you haven’t called or nothing,” I told him truthfully.
“That explains the attitude. Now what about you wanting to kiss me—”
I pressed my lips against his, cutting him off. Once I cut things off with Leon and talked to Missy, she pretty much did as Peaches had. She used Blaze as an example to justify that not all hoods were bad and that I shouldn’t judge them just because of the line of work they were involved in.
A part of me agreed to an extent, given that Blaze had helped me out when he really didn’t have to. And I knew he only did it because I was Peaches’ friend. Even so, that didn’t change the fact that Parker was offering me a hell of a lot and for nothing. I learned years ago that nothing in the world was free. Regardless of that, I was going to ride the wave with Parker until his real reasons came up.
Pulling back from the kiss, Parker looked down at me. The confusion that showed on his face caused me to laugh.
“And I actually like kissing you which is crazy because I’m not really a kisser.” I got off of his lap and pulled him up. “So are you going to tell me where you were this past week?” I was being nosey of course, but I had to know.
I wasn’t the worrying type of female, but I also knew niggas. No one disappeared for nothing unless they had something to hide. Immediately, my mind went to a place that told me he had a whole other life with a wife and kids tucked somewhere. If anybody could hide that it was most definitely Parker’s ass. Shit, I would assume he had hella houses some of everywhere, given the fact I’d already seen two of them.
“I told you I was a traveling agent. Meaning, sometimes shit happens and I have to travel for weeks at a time. It ain’t shit you gotda worry about, though. I’m good as you can see. Now that I know you get worried, I’ll hit you up once I become available. Bet?”
I shrugged. “That’s cool, for now anyways. You wanna come back to my place? I have school in the morning, so I’m about to get up outda here.”
“Damn, I get an invite to the crib too?” He faked shocked.
Laughing, I shook my head at him. “Yeah, you do. And I might throw breakfast in depending on how you act,” I teased as we walked out of the room.
“I think I might be growing on you. And regardless of how I act, yo ass making breakfast. Gon’ head and change, I’ll meet you out front. Bet?”
“Okay, I’ll be out there in a sec.” Even though I let his hand go and turned away from him, I felt his eyes on me. Knowing he was watching, I put a little more effort in my swaying hips as I made my way to the back.

Parker
My hands rubbed together and I licked my lips as I watched Syn walk off. I couldn’t help but laugh as she tried to put a little pop to her hips. Shorty was crazy as hell. But I couldn’t lie, I was digging the fuck outda baby girl hard as hell.
I made my way to the front of the club where I left my niggas. I slid on the circular couch next to Chris as he whispered something to the same chick that was dancing for him when Syn pulled me away.
Chris looked up at me with a head nod before he looked at his watch. “Damn, y’all niggas done already? Shid, I ain’t expect yo ass
back for at least an hour.”
“She couldn’t get it up?” Ol’ girl asked me with a lick of her lips. “Maybe you just lost interest, I can help you find it elsewhere if you like?” She bit into her bottom lip, staring me up and down.
My lips stretched into a smile. “Is that right?” I asked her.
Her eyes immediately lit up. “Most definitely. Take me in the back for a private dance and I’ll show you better than I can tell you.” Her tongue swiped across her glossed lips again before she gave me a seductive smile.
I looked at Chris and pointed to ol’ girl. “Damn, baby trying hard as fuck, yo.” I laughed before looking back at her. “N’all, you good shorty. I don’t fuck desperate. My man do, tho’, he’ll do you good.” I turned my gaze back to Chris. “You and these nasty bitches. That one might fuck around and give you something.”
“Damn, P—”
“Excuse me? Nigga, who the fuck you think you’re talkin’ about?” Ol’ girl suddenly got pissed. She stood in front of me with her hands on her hips like she was ready to do something.
I stared her up and pointed to her. “Yo ass. You the only bitch right here. Fuck kinda question is that?” I looked at Chris and pointed to ol’ girl. “You and these dumb bitches, yo. But me and Syn bout to bounce. I’mma fuck around in her neck of the woods for a few days to see what’s up, then I’ll get up with y’all.” I told them.
“Mane, drop my truck off at my crib— you know what? Fuck it. I’ll just trail her ass,” I thought on whether or not to let Syn keep pushing my shit or take that bitch back. That Bentley wasn’t something that was to be driven on a regular. And I knew her ass been whipping that bitch nonstop since she had it.
“You gon’ let her keep yo car?” Mane asked, sitting up straight which got the attention of Jason.
“Hell yeah, he gon’ let her ass whip that bitch. You see baby asked to drive it and he let her keep it for a fuckin’ week. Shorty got my man stuck. And that got me fuck’d up because yo ass don’t go for no bitch—”
“Chris cool it with that bitch word, my nigga. Don’t get loose with that mothafucka. Why y’all niggas tryna clown me? Shid, I’m diggin’ shorty yeah, but you niggas knew that. Wasn’t it you mothafuckas telling me to get her? Now I gotda be whipped? Fuck kinda shit is that?” I asked them as I grabbed the bottle of Henny, poured some in my glass and tossed it back.
“Shid, go for it I still say, but don’t be dumb about the shit. My nigga, you got with that babe one day and the next shorty pushin’ yo shit. Nigga, I’ve known yo ass for years and I ain’t drove that bitch. You told me to go get my own,” Chris said, taking the bottle from me.
Mane started laughing. “It sounds to me like Chris getting pissed because he’s no longer the main bitch in yo life.”
“That’s what it sound like. This nigga sounding whiny as fuck right now,” Jason slapped hands with Mane, laughing.
“Damn, lord, is that what it is?” I asked Chris. “Now you know you’re my only bitch. You know can’t nobody else replace you,” I threw my arm over his shoulder and pulled him into me.
Chris pushed me off of him. “Fuck you niggas, man. All I’m saying is be careful, P. You don’t really know shit about this chick and I don’t wanna see you get fuck’d in the end.” He nodded behind me. I glanced back to see Syn coming our way.
“Well, if shit don’t work out and you tape her mouth up, I’ll take her.” Mane said laughing.
“Shut the fuck up. You niggas stupid. Hit my line when y’all make it back to the crib. And, Chris, leave that bitch alone.” I pointed to the stripper that had been mugging me the whole time.
“I can’t stand a disrespectful ass nigga.”
“You ready to go?” Syn asked once she reached us. “Who she fussing at? I bet yo ass did something to her. Didn’t you?” She stared at Mane with squinted eyes.
“N’all, it wasn’t him. It was that disrespectful ass son of a bitch,” Ol’ girl fussed, pointing to me.
“Bitch, shut the fuck up and go do something. Raggedy ass bitch. Syn, let’s bounce before I choke the fuck outda this hoe. Chris, find something else to do.”
Syn pulled me, laughing as ol girl started talking her shit. “Parker, leave that damn girl alone.”
“Fuck that bitch, she was tryna clown you,” I told her as if that was my reason for fuckin’ with that chick. I just didn’t like desperate bitches and that’s exactly what her ass was.
Syn rolled her eyes at me. “Vixen talk about everybody, so she don’t bother me. She ain’t stupid enough to step to me with the bullshit she say, so it’s nothing.” She shrugged, leading us out of the club. “You wanna drive?”
“N’all, I’mma trail you to yo crib.”
Syn stopped, looked at the Bentley and then to me. “You don’t want your car back?” The serious but confused look on her face had me laughing.
“Hell yeah, I want my shit. But I ain’t in no rush to get it just yet. So let’s go.” I walked away from her and went to my black on black 2016 Lincoln Navigator. I hopped in the truck and started it, waiting for Syn to pull off.
Chapter 22
Parker
I followed her into English Village and parked a few spaces down from her. Once she parked, Syn hopped out of the car and came to my truck.
“Ooh, I like this,” she said, eyeing the truck.
My head tilted as I watched her eyes glance over the truck. This mothafucka was going to get beside herself with liking my shit, I could already see it. Syn’s ass was going to whip everything I had if it looked nice to her.
Laughing, I hopped out of the truck and hit the alarm button. “Man, bring yo ass on. And hell n’all you ain’t pushing that mothafucka. I just got her too, so gon’ look somewhere else.”
“Don’t be like that. I mean, you let me drive that one. I don’t see—”
I took her duffle bag and pushed her in front of me. “Syn, take me to yo crib and shut up. Yo ass ain’t driving my damn truck, period.”
“I’ight, you remember this now.” Her eyes rolled into her head as she led us to her apartment.
The moment we walked inside, she flicked on the light. She had a nice size living room, nothing major. But it was cool given that she was the only one staying there. I walked more into the living room and saw her school books all over the floor along with pens and hi-lighters next to them. I had to admit that seeing her shit all around and knowing stripping was just her independent way of paying for school impressed me. There wasn’t too many mothafuckas who worked to do that shit. A lot of bitches gave up and would rather leech off a mothafucka, but Syn wasn’t and I liked that.
Shid, if anything that made me like her little mean ass a bit more. I picked up her notebook and glanced at the page.
Syn took the notebook from me as she started to pick up the rest of her stuff. “Sorry about the mess.”
“N’all, you good, leave yo shit where it’s at.” I took her book and dropped it back on the floor. “So you really serious about this school shit, huh?” I sat down on the couch, pulling her with me.
“Yeah, I’m serious about this.” She laughed. “What kind of question is that? If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t be at the club three days out the week now would I?” She smartly replied back.
My hand went to her head and pushed it to the side, muffing her. “Shut the fuck up. Yo ass always getting smart.” I pulled my hat off and rubbed a hand over my head. I stretched back on her couch then pulled her in between my legs. “Have you thought about my offer?”
I didn’t know what it was that drew me to Syn, but it had to be something real given the fact I continued to fuck with her for well over seven years without any expectations from her at all. She was just different from any chick I ever fuck’d with on a serious tip.
Syn wasn’t hungry for what a nigga had or how flashy he was. Hell, I personally thought that if I hadn’t come at her, she would’ve continued to ignore the shit out of my ass. Shid, it took her ass damn near a year just to h
ave a conversation with me after we started fucking around.
Her ass was straight about fucking and getting her money before she bounced out the room. Shid, I had given her time in hopes that she’d come to me willingly on something serious. After years of that shit not happening, I wasn’t gon’ wait for her ass no more. And now that I knew it wasn’t anything personal, she was just focused on herself and her own come up, I liked that shit.
After a while I looked at her. When she didn’t say anything, I tilted her head to the side, exposing her neck. My lips pressed into the skin before I bit her. “So you gon’ ignore me?”
She pulled away and moved to the other end of the couch. Her eyes fell to the floor before they came back to mine. “To be honest, no I haven’t. I don’t get why you made me that offer to begin with.”
I could tell from the way she talked and acted that she wasn’t used to mothafuckas doing shit nice for her. Hell, she wasn’t used to somebody really being there for her. The void look that sometimes showed up in her eyes, told me that. I didn’t know what I could do exactly, but I wanted to make everything better for Syn. I knew that wasn’t going to be easy because she was expecting me to want something in return, but all I wanted was a chance to know her, inside and out.
“How come I need a reason? Why it couldn’t be the simple fact that I’m feeling you and want to help you out?”
She barked out a laugh as she got up. “You want a beer?” Syn walked off into the kitchen.
Getting up, I followed behind her. “N’all, I’m straight. But what’s funny?”
She pulled a Platinum beer out of the fridge and popped the top off. After she took a drink, her eyes rolled. “Because nobody gives something for nothing. There’s always a reason. You just haven’t made yours known as of yet, but you will sooner or later,” Syn’s shoulders shrugged and she took another drink of her beer.
Damn, shorty was all fuck’d up because of the way she thought. I knew that not every mothafucka she came across was going to be straight up about their real intentions when it came to a female and I hated the fact that she was comparing me to those fuck ass niggas she was used to dealing with.
