“It was actually the other way around. Yeah, we can get together tonight. We’re headed into town to get lunch. Do you want to meet up with us?”

“I can’t babe, I’m sorry. I wanted tonight to be special for you since you made last weekend so special for me.”

“Thank you.” She started to feel a little sentimental about Jude again until she remembered that he had come on to her best friend. “Do you want to pick me up from Sen’s house or do you want me to meet you in town?”

“I’ll come get you from Seneca’s house when I’m ready. I hope you like everything I did for you. It’s been so cool going out with you this year. All the guys I go to school with are so jealous. They think you’re hot as hell. Brendan opened his big mouth and told everyone that you showed him your tattoos. He wanted to show everyone the pictures I sent him but I threatened to kick his ass if he did. And I did kinda send him a copy of that naked picture I took of you but I made him delete it. He’s going out with Shayla now anyway and she’d be really pissed if she found it.”

“Wow, so what do you think of your best friend dating a slut?” She wanted to see how he’d answer.

“She’s not a slut really. She just likes sex and isn’t afraid to admit it. Kinda like you, but I think she’s done it with way more guys than you have. I think you’d like her actually. We could go out on a double date sometime if you want. I know that you’re into that kind of stuff and I don’t think that either Seneca or Grant like me much.”

Molli knew an even better reason why neither Seneca nor Grant liked him now, but she’d decided not to bring it up. “So Brendan really likes this girl huh?”

“Oh yeah. He told me a bunch of stuff that they did that you probably don’t want to hear. He’s letting her wear his letterman jacket and his class ring. That’s still a pretty big deal around here. I gotta let you go Mol. I still have a bunch of stuff to do to get everything ready for tonight. I really hope that you like it. I love you Molli.”

“I love you too, Jude. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Bye Mol. Have a nice lunch.”

  “Thank you Jude. Goodbye.”

Seneca sighed as she pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant. “I knew he was going to talk his way back into your heart. He does one sweet thing for you and you’re telling him that you love him again. Okay, Mol, maybe Jude can be an okay guy when he wants to be, but don’t let yourself get too hung up on him. Date him, screw him when you want and dump him. Find yourself a good guy when you go off to school that you won’t have to worry will cheat on you and who won’t dump you if you don’t have sex with him or decide you want to cool off for a while.”

“It’s just words Sen, and it’s not like he means them when he says them either. But he seems to be putting a lot of work into whatever he’d got planned for us tonight. The least I can do is be nice to him.”

“I love you can mean something. I certainly hope that Grant means it when he says it to me.”

  “Of course I do baby.”

Seneca smiled at Grant, and then turned back to Molli as they entered the restaurant. “Just promise me that you’ll never do it with him without a condom and that if you find someone who really loves you for you, and not just ‘cause you’re hot, that you won’t be afraid to drop Jude like a hot potato because he was sweet to you every once in a while.”

Molli laughed. “I promise Sen.” She was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to find someone like that though, she thought. And she had no idea why so many guys seemed to think she was so hot.

They paid at the register and then helped themselves to the self-service set up. They brought their food back to a table. The conversation was lighter. Molli teased Seneca about looking like a real woman. Grant blushed to the roots of his hair. Both of the girls assured him that adults couldn’t tell by looking at her that she’d had sex. That seemed to calm him down.

They went back to Seneca’s house and watched movies until early evening when Jude showed up. He handed Molli a bouquet of flowers. Seneca rolled her eyes, but Molli thought it was sweet. He led her out to his truck, which looked like it had been cleaned out. There was a new air freshener hanging from the mirror and she thought that it certainly smelled better too.

Jude took the back way into the woods behind Crestview and then took her hand after they had gotten out of the truck. He led her deeper into the woods. They arrived several minutes later at their destination. Jude had set up a picnic. Several artificial candles were set up on the blanket he’d spread out on the ground, giving the usually dreary and darks woods a romantic atmosphere.

Jude gave her a shy smile. “I hope you like it. I only bought food that you liked and I remembered the right kind of soda. I’m sorry about that Mol. I forgot that it was my ex-girlfriend that liked orange soda and not you.”

“It’s okay. It’s really nice. Thank you. You didn’t have to go to so much trouble for me.”

“I’m really proud to be going out with you Molli, and not just because you’re so pretty. You’re nice and you’re smarter than you think you are. And sex with you is like going to another planet.”

  Molli laughed. “Thanks Jude.”

“I mean it. And it’s not just because you aren’t afraid to admit that you like it too. It’s really special to have sex with you. I hope that you feel the same way about doing it with me.”

Molli squeezed his hand. “Of course I do Jude.” She wasn’t being completely honest, but she didn’t think he was either.

They ate. Molli found that Jude HAD brought food that she liked to eat. The sandwiches were turkey, and she knew that she usually preferred roast beef. The chips were the kind that she liked. He told her that he’d asked his mom to help him make deviled eggs and the cookies that he knew she liked, though he didn’t particularly like either himself. Molli was feeling pretty warm and fuzzy about him by the time they had finished eating and she figured that he deserved sex. She was feeling pretty turned on too, if she wanted to be completely honest with herself.

Jude had brought a blanket to lie over top of them so that if someone happened to come upon them together, they wouldn’t see them naked and that was more thoughtful than he usually was. She thought that he usually wanted her to be on top when they had sex because he wanted it to be her ass they saw and not his if someone caught them together, more than he actually liked it. She thought that he deserved a blow job for that, since he didn’t usually take long to finish, but when she kissed a trail down his stomach and started to put her mouth on him, he stopped her.

“I love it when you do that Mol, but I kinda thought that it was your turn for a change. If you want me to. Girls are supposed to like that aren’t they?”

Jude looked concerned that maybe he’d heard wrong and Molli had to stop herself from giggling. “Yes Jude. I think they are. But you don’t have to do that for me. And I don’t really mind doing that for you.”

Jude grinned. “Thanks. I know that some girls hate it. I’m glad that you like it too. I’ll do that for you if you want. I’ve never done it before, but um, I talked to Brendan and he kinda told me what to do.”

Molli couldn’t hold in her laughter any longer. “You asked Brendan what to do when you go down on a girl?”

Jude blushed. “Yeah. He said he’d done it lots of times. That’s not too weird is it?”

“It is kinda weird but that’s okay. I’m sure you’ll be great at it. And don’t think that I’m gonna expect you to do it all the time because you did it once either. I know that some guys don’t really like it, like some girls don’t like giving blow jobs. I honestly don’t mind giving them as long as you don’t expect me to give you one every time we’re together, because I don’t like them THAT much. But if you don’t like it after you try it Jude, just tell me okay? It doesn’t mean that I’ll never give you another blow job or that I’ll think you’re a bad boyfriend.”

Jude looked relieved. “Thanks Molli. You’re the best.”

  Molli
almost laughed again, but managed to hold it in. She lay back on the blanket and closed her eyes. Jude wasn’t the best at what he was doing, and she didn’t think he was getting much enjoyment out of it, so she stopped him after a few minutes.

“You can stop now baby. You made me feel so good that I have to have you inside of me.”

Jude looked up at her and grinned. “So I did okay?”

She resisted the urge to pat him on top of the head. “You were great. We’ll try again some other time when we’re inside again.”

  “Okay.”

Molli had a feeling that he wasn’t going to offer again anytime soon, but she didn’t really care one way or the other. She liked it, but it wasn’t something that was enough to make or break a relationship with her, like she thought that whether or not the girl was willing to give a blow job seemed to make or break a relationship for some guys.

Jude reached for his jeans and pulled out a condom. He then handed her a twenty dollar bill. She was almost offended until he said “I know it’s not all I owe you, but I wanted to start paying you back.”

  “Thank you.”

She put the bill into her wallet.

By the time she had put her wallet back in her purse he had the condom on.

“Now, how about we get back to the awesome idea of me being inside of you? It is truly an awesome feeling when I’m inside of Mol.”

“Why thank you Jude. The feeling is mutual.” She kissed him and then pulled him back onto the blanket with her.

Jude took longer than usual to come to orgasm. She was freezing by that time though he was on top of her and the blanket was still on top of him.

He tried to kiss her, but she shook her head. “You were great Jude. But I am freezing from having my bare ass on the cold ground, even if there was a blanket underneath me. I feel worse for the homeless people that have to lie on the ground in the winter than I ever did before.”

Jude shook his head at her as she pulled her jeans on, not bothering with her panties. She was going back to Seneca’s house. She just hoped that both Seneca and Grant were done in the shower by the time she got there. She didn’t feel like she was ever going to warm up and it was barely autumn.

“You know that all of those stupid bums did something to deserve to be there, like spent their rent money on crack or went to work drunk and got fired.”

Molli started to feel a lot less warm and fuzzy about Jude. “You know that I don’t like the word stupid. I’ve been called stupid way too many times. Do you really believe that everyone who is homeless is a drug addict, or an alcoholic? It’s not true. Women and men and children are all part of the homeless population. I’m sure they don’t like to be called bums either. Maybe you should stop judging people and stereotyping them when you know nothing about them. That’s really ignorant. See, I said you were being ignorant when I could have been a bitch and called you stupid.”

“You’re still being a bitch. Chill Molli. I didn’t know you wanted to marry a bum. You judge people you don’t know all the time. Everyone does.”

“Well, since I’m being such a bitch I’m not going to stop until I’ve said everything I have to say. I don’t plan on marrying a ‘bum’ you ignorant asshole, but I wouldn’t dump my boyfriend if he became homeless for some reason either. Yes, I judge people because I’m human, but I try not to, because I’m really sick and tired of being judged so harshly. I don’t like being called a slut because I like sex, and I don’t like being called stupid because I have a harder time in school than some people do. I don’t like being called crazy because I’ve taken medication for depression. I’m sure plenty of ignorant assholes at your school have talked shit about you for going out with the crazy slut, even if they do all seem to think I’m so hot. And I don’t think you like being judged either. Don’t tell me that no one has ever called you trailer trash or the son of a pothead and a drunk, because I know they have.”

Jude sighed. “Damn Molli. I’m really glad that I did that for you before you decided to go off on me. See if I ever do that for you again.”

“I don’t give a shit if you ever do that for me again. I wouldn’t care if you decided that sex was dirty and became a born again virgin and wanted to wait to have sex again until you got married either, even though I do like sex. I wouldn’t go out and screw some other guy. I would respect you enough not to. I don’t care that you live in a trailer park or drive a smelly old truck or that you suck at sports and don’t get perfect grades in school. That stuff doesn’t matter to me, because it’s not who you are, or even all that you’re about. I am not some stuck up bitch from Crestview Academy that’s going to listen to you talk shit about poor people and think that it’s funny, because it’s not funny. Money means way too much to way too many people in this world already. Now can we go? I’m freezing and I really want to take a shower.”

Jude put his hand on her arm. “I’m sorry Molli. I don’t want to fight with you. I have been called trailer trash and the son of the town drunk and I hate it. My dad is a good guy and he works hard. We’ve come really fucking close to being out on the streets when we got behind on our house payments and couldn’t keep up with everything. We were lucky that my grandparents helped us out. That’s when I started delivering papers. I knew that if we got kicked out, me and my brother and sisters would go into foster care because both of my parents would have dirty drug tests and be totally pissed at having to go to shit like parenting classes when I’m eighteen and have turned out fine. Or at least I think I have, except when I’m being an asshole of course.” Jude gave her a crooked grin. “I think I get a little defensive when something hits too close to home. And I kinda got a rep for going out with you. Sometimes it’s not so bad to be having sex with a crazy bitch. They even wrote a song about it.”

Molli made a face. “Thanks Jude. I always knew there was a reason you chased after me so hard.”

Jude touched her face and then gave her a gentle kiss. “I was kidding baby. A lot of kids are on medication, so they can’t talk shit. And all of the guys at school are way jealous that I’m the one that’s going out with you. They think you’re one of the finest girls at Crestview.”’

“Yeah, yeah. I forgive you for being an asshole this time, but please think before you speak when you’re around me and are being totally insulting to a group of people you know nothing about. I’m not afraid to tell you what I really think.”

Jude laughed. “I noticed. I think it’s cool that you speak your mind. Some girls are afraid to.”

“Not me. Not anymore. I got too tired of holding everything inside. You don’t have to like what I say, you don’t have to agree with it, and you can think I’m being a bitch, but it’s not going to stop me from saying what I want to say. You shouldn’t be afraid to call me a bitch either, because I know I can be one.”

“I noticed that too. Let’s get out of here. I’m getting cold too.”

Jude gathered the remnants of their picnic and the blankets and then followed her back to his truck. He started the truck and then backed out onto the road.

“Thank you for tonight Jude. It was really special. I appreciate all the trouble you went to.”

“No problem Mol. I don’t know what’s gonna happen when we both graduate, but I’d like you to have some special memories of me if we don’t end up going to the same school.”

“I will. You are my first real boyfriend.”

“Really? I thought that you had had a bunch of boyfriends before me. Wait, I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just that you’re so pretty and I know you weren’t a virgin when we got together, so I thought that you had boyfriends before me.”

Molli sighed. She’d never really considered Eduardo her boyfriend even when she had been dumb enough to think that he was going to leave Crisha for her, but he had taught her that sex could be very enjoyable. “I lost my virginity when I was thirteen to a guy that I hadn’t even French kissed before. I had a boyfriend my freshman year, but I wouldn’t really cons
ider him a real boyfriend because he dumped me two days after he got down my pants. I had a sort of friend with benefits after I started at Crestview but I never considered him my boyfriend. So yeah, I’d say that you’re the first real boyfriend I’ve ever had.”

“That’s cool. I lost my virginity when I was fourteen. There was this girl that used to live next door to Seneca. She was eighteen but she had this huge crush on me. I think she was kind of insecure and it made her feel good when I practically drooled over her. We didn’t really go out because even though my parents are pretty cool, they would not have let me go out with her since she was so much older. But we had sex. We screwed for a while and then she moved away. I missed her and I missed getting laid, but it wasn’t like I loved her or she loved me. So I guess you could say she was my friend with benefits too. They can be really nice to have sometimes huh?”

“I guess. I’d much rather have a boyfriend. I like being able to hang out with you and not think that you want me to go away after we have sex.”

“I like being with you Mol. I wish we had more time together, but you’re so busy with school and I’m busy with work or watching my sisters. Sometimes I wish you went to Brentwood High with me so that I could see you in the halls. Kids get away with making out in the halls by their lockers all the time.” He grinned at her as he pulled into Seneca’s driveway. “Then the guys would really be jealous.”

Molli laughed. She leaned over and gave him a lengthy kiss. “Goodnight Jude.”

“Night Mol. Maybe we can get together next weekend. No, not next weekend and I can’t hang out with you most of October or on Halloween either. I got a temp job after school. It pays way better than delivering papers does. I should be able to help my parents finally get caught up with the bills and buy you something nice for Christmas. I get stuck taking my brother and sisters trick or treating every year. My parents ask for it off way ahead of time every year but they always end up having to work because someone always calls in sick when you know they’re out partying and not caring that other people have kids.”
