Mabel, Margie, and Maxie watched slowly as the rainbow started to disappear. “Where did God’s promise go?” asked Maxie.
Rachel could not help but grin as she scattered the photos of Casey and Noah across the publishing table. Before her very eyes were her two longtime friends. She was proud to be able to preserve history for them and for the country. Rachel picked up the photo of Casey with his strong arm around Noah’s shoulder, providing comfort before this historical boarding—her favorite photo of the two of them. Rachel could feel the bond.
Bobby Quinn on the other side of town held on tight to the tiny blue Tiffany box. The 2-carat, pear-shaped engagement ring sparkled just like the twinkle in his eyes. “Love can save the world,” Bobby whispered to the salesman.
“We all would like to think so,” he gently replied as the Tiffany door closed for the evening.
