Love At First Glance (Love At Firsts Book 1) Page 24

by Garcia, Muriel

Today is a special day, it’s Monday and Christmas is in three weeks. I couldn’t be more excited. The reason why today is special has nothing to do with the fact that it’s Monday, but I because I have a surprise for Spencer. Something he never thought I’d do, even though we’ve been talking about it for years.

I’m lying on a table with Ellie, Spencer’s tattoo artist, sitting on a stool next to me.

“Should I do it?” She grins mischievously.

“Yes, please. He’s going to shit his pants when he sees.” I snicker.

“Let’s hope not, that’d be messy and just disgusting.”

“Ugh, thanks for the mental image.” I frown.

“You’re the one who said it.” She laughs and takes out her phone to dial Spencer’s number.

  “Damnit.” I mutter and grin.

“Hey Spence, how are you?... Yeah, I’m good… Could you come to the shop? I kinda need to talk to you. It’s important… No, I’m okay, I just really need to talk to you… Okay, thanks, see you in a bit.” She smiles and hangs up. “He doesn’t suspect a thing, I can’t wait to see his face.

“Same! I’m so excited but scared shitless at the same time.”

“It’ll be painful, but don’t worry, I’m usually rather gentle.” She reassures me.

  “Usually? That’s reassuring…not.” I chuckle nervously.

“It’s going to be okay, don’t worry.” She winks and starts prepping her space.

A few minutes later, we hear the front door open and Spencer’s sensual voice greeting the receptionist. His footsteps get louder as he comes closer and a second later he pokes his head through the door. The shocked look on his face when he sees me with my top off on the table is priceless.

“What’s going on? Are we having a threesome?” He grins excitedly.

“Of course you’d think that.” I chuckle and shake my head at him.

“Well you have your top o- oh my god.” He interrupts himself and his jaw drops wide open as he sees the stencil of the half butterfly on my ribs, the angelic half to his demonic butterfly.

“Oh bloody hell, I’ve actually managed to render him speechless! I’ve been trying to do that for years!” Ellie exclaims and we high five and laugh.

“Yes, you have,” he says to Ellie, “I never thought you’d do it,” he tells me before leaning over the bed and kissing me deeply.

“I figured I’d surprise you.” I smile at him and kiss him back. “It’s not done yet so…”

“You’ll be fine, don’t worry. I’m here for you.” He smiles and sits by my head. He takes off his jacket, makes himself comfortable, and rests his head on the bed next to mine.

“Are you ready?” Ellie asks me.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” I reply nervously.

“Here we go.” She smiles and starts with a small outline. “How was that?”

“Not as bad as I thought, but give me thirty minutes and I’ll be a crying mess.” I chuckle.

“You’ll be alright, Love.” Spencer kisses me softly and holds my hand.

Spencer does a good job at keeping me calm throughout the tattoo. I don’t think I’d have been able to sit through it all without him by my side. It hurt like a motherfucker, but the pain was worth it.

“Are you ready for the big reveal?” Ellie asks me as Spencer helps me up.

“Yes. I’m so excited to finally see it done.” I smile and walk over to the full length mirror.

“What do you think?” Ellie asks expectantly.

“Oh my God, I love it! It’s so beautiful.” I smile as I try to hold back my tears. But when Spencer stands by my side and crouches down whilst lifting his shirt up so our tattoos are in line, his evil butterfly and my angelic one, my tears fall freely.

“A match made in heaven or hell, depends on the side.” Spencer chuckles and kisses my head.

“Just a perfect match I’d say.” I sniff.

  “Can we do something, Ellie?”

“Sure, what do you have in mind?” Ellie asks him.

“It’s very cheesy, but I was wondering if I could tattoo a small Q and heart on her ring finger and she could do a K and heart on mine.” He asks, blushing.

“Spencer, are you actually blushing?” I tease him, it's not every day that Spencer blushes or shows any hint that he isn't hundred percent confident. If I'm being honest, I'm loving his idea.

“Shut up.” He chuckles and hides his face in my neck.

“That’s so sweet.” Ellie smiles and prepares a new needle.

“What do you think?” Spencer smiles looking at me expectantly.

“I think that’s a pretty sweet idea, my King.” I grin.

“Thank God. I thought you were going to think it was totally ridiculous and forever remind me of this, my Queen.” He chuckles.

“It is very cheesy, but not ridiculous. I love it.” I beam at him.

Ellie cleans my tattoo, put some kind of cream over it and wraps it up before drawing Spencer’s proposed design on our fingers. We proceed with caution and do as she instructs, but tattooing is hard.

The machine is really heavy and the vibrations make it difficult to draw a straight line. We both manage to do a very basic K and Q before asking Ellie to polish them off and tattoo the heart. Even if the end result isn’t ours, we’ll know that we tattooed each other.

I love my life. I love my friends. I love my boyfriend.

  Spencer made me love Mondays.

I’ll forever be grateful having him in my life.

I know he’ll never admit it, but really it’s all thanks to Valentine that we’re together. Had he not entered our lives, who knows how long this cat and mouse game would have gone on for?

My name is Haven Lee and I love Mondays, Spencer made me realize how amazing they can be.

  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

This book wouldn’t have been possible without the precious help of a couple of people that I’m so happy to call my friends and family.

My Mom – Thank you for keeping me sane, I can’t imagine how hard that was! Thank you for always supporting me. I love you.

Charlotte Spence – Thank you for also keeping me sane and help me through all the doubts and worries I’ve had writing this book that is quite different from what I usually write. Thank you for always supporting me and giving me such great feedback and being honest. I appreciate it more than you know.

Ellie Aspill – Thank you for being such a great friend and fabulous editor. You’ve helped me so much since pretty much the beginning. It’s always a pleasure working with you. Thank you for helping me make this book what it is. You're the yin to my yang; the Alabama to my Slammer. #TeamAlabamaSlammerForever

My readers – You guys are amazing. Thank you for supporting me and following me since the beginning. It’s been a rough ride but I’m so glad I stick to it and do what I love to do. I hope you enjoyed Haven and Spencer’s story. It was emotional to say the least and they, again, ended up changing the story on me. The book was supposed to be a lot different than what it is, but ultimately, I had to listen to them and let them lead the story. I hope I did them justice. Stay tuned for Valentine’s story. Spencer might also get his novella if he behaves, which I doubt, when has he ever behaved? Let’s face it, never!

Thank you to all the blogs and authors who helped me with the cover reveal and on this very special release day. Thank you for your continuous help. None of this would have ever been possible if it weren’t for the bloggers who so kindly take the time out of their day to help authors spread the word, help out sharing our work and read and review our books just for their pleasure. I’ll never be able to express how much I appreciate all you guys’ help.

  I love you all <3

All he wanted to do was party and enjoy his teenage life and go to college. Instead, he had to mature really fast, find a job that would allow him time with his sister but also bring enough money to keep a roof above their heads, pay the bills, feed them and make her happy.

As if things weren’t bad enough, Gabe finds himself in the middle of two clubs at war. On one faithful night, he meets the one woman that will hold his heart forever, becomes the target of the most vicious MC around Louisiana and becomes a prospect for the Last Hangman.

What happens when Gabe and Vivian see each other again?

Both of their past catches up with them, bringing down innocent people. Betrayal, new found family, love and hate.

Gabe never thought he could love again, Vivian only wants to heal him and make him feel whole again.

Can they find their happiness together or will their past be too strong and tear them apart forever?

Jason Sanders hasn’t had the easiest of lives. Growing up he had all he could ever want, except for two very important people: his parents. The day he lost them was the day his life became a chaotic mess. A mess that still haunts him today.

Due to his association with three of the most prominent MCs in Louisiana, the entire New Orleans Police Department suspect him to be a corrupt cop, little do they know what’s really going on behind closed doors.

At the start, he hated every single biker. They had made his existence a living hell for the past four years. Now? Now, they have fast become a permanent fixture in his life and are the closest thing to a family he’s had since that day.

Thanks to her big brother, Nicole Lyle grew up surrounded by the Last Hangman MC and loved every second of it. They were always there for her, supporting her, protecting her, except for one night.

One disastrous night causes Nicole to do the one thing she never thought herself capable of, causing her life to become a devastating mess. A mess she wishes she could have avoided.

What happens when Jason and Nicole’s pasts catch up to them and threaten to ruin their futures?

How will Nicole’s older brothers, Gabe and Aleck, cope with the details of their younger sister’s torrid past?

Will Nicole be able to help Jason heal or is he beyond fixing?

Will Jason be able to take a leap of faith and trust Nicole?

  AUTHOR’S BIO

Muriel Garcia was born and raised in Belgium. She started writing a little over a year ago and never thought she would ever publish; reading and writing weren’t her favorite things to do in high school.

After one of her friends gave her a challenge – the next time they would attend a book signing, she would be a signing author (it did happen!) – she started to take writing a lot more seriously and never looked back. She’s enjoyed every second of it and the friends she’s made along the way.

She loves music, tattoos—especially on hot men, traveling, and cooking. She has always had an overly imaginative and creative mind but never thought of putting words to paper. Now she couldn’t imagine not writing stories that are near and dear to her heart.
