“Oh, fuck. Wait. No.” Gavin shuddered and tried to retreat, but River lifted her arm and curled it around his thigh, holding on to him. She wanted to feel him lose control. Boyd sucked up and pushed his finger inside of her, making her cry out and her hips jerk.

“Fuck,” Gavin snarled and surged back into her mouth. She felt his hot cum splash against the back of her throat and she swallowed quickly, not wanting to miss out on a drop.

She licked her lips as he pulled his cock out of her mouth and couldn’t help the smile curling her lips. She loved that she made him lose control like that.

Gavin panted but still managed to grin down at her. He pressed a quick kiss against her lips. “I bet you’re proud of yourself.” She felt her lips curl up into a smug grin as he spoke. “But you know what they say about pride…”

She didn’t quite understand what he was saying until he moved back and she saw the intense look Boyd gave her. He lifted her legs from his shoulders and stood between them, cupping his hands under her knees. “My turn.”

She shivered, and Gavin chuckled in her ear. “Think you can make him come first, River?”

Boyd rocked his hard cock along the seam of her pussy. He felt like a hot brand against the oversensitized tissues, and her body ached to be filled. That kind of sensual dare she wasn’t about to pass up. “Bring it on.”

Boyd growled and pressed his cock against her. She looked down and noticed he wore a condom, which surprised her. They couldn’t pass on any STDs or human diseases. A pregnancy was possible however, and fear clenched her soul at that thought. Never.

“River?” Boyd froze. The tip of his cock stretched her pussy, and she already felt herself start to tremble. He must’ve sensed something was wrong.

“It’s okay,” she gasped. She didn’t want wanting her fears to ruin the moment. “I’m okay.”

  “You sure?”

She nodded and relaxed, knowing he was willing to stop for her. The concern melted off of Boyd’s face, replaced by the focused intensity that had been there before. That look made her shiver. He surged fast and hard into her waiting body. Her pussy stretched to accommodate him, her unused muscles burning with the pressure. River grasped at the table, but Gavin curled his fingers into hers.

“So tight,” Boyd ground out from between clenched teeth. He retreated and then rocked back into her again. Each stroke was a bit easier and a bit faster as her cream coated him. River locked her ankles around his hips, feeling the muscles flexing under her legs.

Holding her hand, Gavin moved by her side and cupped her breasts in one hand. Pulling her nipples into his mouth, he sucked on them and bit lightly. She tangled her fingers into the silky hair curling at the base of Gavin’s neck and held him there as he teased and tasted her breasts.

She glanced over at the sofa where Hugh was sitting. His arms stretched out along the back of the couch. His cock jutted up hard between his legs, but the look on his face sent an electrical jolt through her system. That dark intensity was back as he watched his brothers make her writhe beneath them. She lifted her back off the table, arching her breasts closer to Gavin’s mouth, clenching her cunt tight as Boyd tried to withdraw, and both men groaned in symphony to her actions. Hugh’s expression altered slightly and she thought he looked pleased with her, but it was gone in a second.

He gripped the back of the sofa and refused to stroke his cock. River didn’t understand why, but teasing both Gavin and Boyd was having an accelerated response in her, too. She felt a powerful buildup again and tried to roll her own hips as Boyd surged into her, but he clamped his hands on her hips and controlled her movements.

She gripped Gavin’s hand and hair and accepted she wasn’t in control here, they were, but deep down she knew they would take care of her. That she was safe in their arms.

“Come on, River. Give it to me.” Boyd pistoned his cock into her. Gripping her hip, he pulled her against him in counterpoint. He slid his hand down between her legs and pressed his thumb against her clit. She rocked her hips and felt like an electrical shock.

Gavin suckled hard on her breasts, nipping at her nipples as everything rolled up tight inside her again.

“Yes, oh, god, more!” With every cry, Boyd hammered into her. She strained against the way Gavin held her down, but he didn’t let her go, and it both comforted her and ramped up the sensations. She felt like an over-tight coil, and when her release did come, it was explosive, and she screamed and surged up against their touch.

“Oh, yeah, I am so keeping you!” Boyd yelled as he pounded his cock into her, drawing out her orgasm. He cupped his hands around her hips and lifted her slightly. On the next downstroke, River saw stars. He rubbed against a spot inside her she didn’t know existed, and it pushed her into another orgasm.

She vaguely heard Boyd snarl out a few more curses before he jerked against her and then collapsed forward. He rolled his hips again, drawing out their separation. Her muscles flutted as his cock slipped from her and he rested his cheek on her stomach.

Gavin kissed her gently on the lips. “Are you okay?”

  “Am I alive?”

Gavin stroked her hair out of her face and propped his chin up with his hand as he leaned on the table. “I think you survived, but I’m not sure about Boyd.”

She glanced down and stroked her fingers through Boyd’s thick hair. “Still alive down there?” Boyd grunted and turned his face, pressing his lips against her tummy and nuzzling the skin, making her laugh because it tickled.

She heard Hugh moving toward them and looked over. She didn’t expect to see his pants buttoned up and his shirt tucked in. The look on his face was unreadable, and if it weren’t for the massive bulge in his pants, she would’ve assumed he’d finished himself off.

  “Um, I can…”

“Not right now, River.” His voice sounded hard and she felt a frisson of fear run along her spine. Was he angry because he didn’t get any relief? She tried to move, but Gavin and Boyd didn’t budge.

“River, I have more restraint than these two, and I’m too old to fuck you on a table.”

“Yeah, he’d rather have you strapped dow—omf.” Gavin’s comment was cut off by Hugh shoving him in the side.

“Would you two get off her instead of crushing her against the table?”

“It’s okay.” River didn’t feel any discomfort. The table was hard, but Boyd supported her lower body as he snuggled against her and Gavin’s arm made a perfect pillow. Both the men gave off enough heat she was sure she could’ve gone back to sleep.

“No, it’s not.” Boyd roused himself and Gavin helped her move into a sitting position. “We should take better care of you.”

River scanned the bar area looking for her clothes but couldn’t see much in the dim light. Hugh wrapped the blanket from earlier around her and scooped her up into his arms. It was so soft against her skin, a complete contrast to the hard man holding her. Hugh didn’t give any indication of his thoughts, and that pissed River off. If he’s pissed that he didn’t get any, then he should’ve come to the table instead of sitting back and waiting.

“You can put me down, Hugh.”

“No.” He carried her over to the sofa and dropped her down onto one of the cushions. As soon as she hit the cushion she jumped to her feet.

“What are you doing?” he snapped, and she glared back at him.

“Getting my clothes. I want to get dressed.” Hugh’s attitude was making her uncomfortable.

“River, you don’t need to get dressed. You can come back to our place and have a shower, and then we can talk.”

“I don’t need to talk.” She tried hard to rebuild her defense structure that they had managed to tear down on the table.

  “Stop fucking arguing with me.”

“Oh, do I get to spank your ass red now for your language?”

Hugh looked at her as if he’d been carved from ice. “I took it too easy on you.”

“You call that easy?” She glanced over a
t Boyd and Gavin, who both wore concerned expressions.

“Don’t look at them, River. You’re dealing with me now.” He growled at her, and she turned back at the sound of thinly veiled violence in his tone. He grabbed her arm and tugged her closer to him. “They got your attention, now you’ll have mine.”

The chorus from AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” exploded from the floor under the sofa, making her jump. She hadn’t realized how quiet it had gotten in there. “That’s my phone. It could be an emergency.” River didn’t have a clue what time it was. It could be as easy as Carol calling her about the order, or Brenna needing her help.

A muscle in Hugh’s jaw twitched, but he wouldn’t let go of her arm. “Gavin.”

“Got it.” Gavin reached under the sofa and fished out her phone.

River reached for it, but Hugh hooked his finger under her chin and drew her face back to him. “I want your attention on me.” She couldn’t read any of his emotions, and that frightened her. A memory from long ago scratched to get her attention, but she pushed it away. She didn’t allow herself to think of those things anymore.

She kept her gaze on Hugh, but it was obvious they were both listening to the conversation Gavin was having, and a second later River felt like ice water filled her veins as she overheard Catherine tell Gavin that Lars had been shot.

  “I want my clothes, now!”

  Chapter Seven

Since he was already dressed, Hugh helped River into the clothes they found for her. Her bra was garbage, and any other time he would’ve been happy, but right now she looked on the verge of hysteria, and he focused on helping her as much as he could. She ran for the doors with only the blanket around her. He made her take the few seconds she needed to get her pants on and then scooped her up and ran for the doors.

Boyd had the truck keys and carried her shoes while Gavin had fished her shirt off one of the sconces where it landed when he’d pulled it off her earlier. Boyd started the truck, and Gavin opened the back door for him. He held on to River as she spoke on her phone and got them both in the backseat. Gavin tossed River’s shoes onto the seat next to her. The moment Gavin’s ass hit the passenger’s seat, Boyd took off and headed for the clinic.

River hadn’t stopped speaking since she grabbed the phone from Gavin. He could feel the tremors that vibrated along her limbs.

“Is he still conscious?” she asked as she pulled her shoes on. “What you do mean he said not to call anyone! Put that big dummy on the phone.”

Hugh could hear the woman on the other end of the call pass the phone to Lars. He’d met Catherine a couple times since moving to Ecstasy Lake, but Boyd was a regular at her place. She ran a small British-style tea shop, if he remembered correctly.

“Lars, get your ass to the clinic.” River’s hand shook, and she jerked it around as she talked. He realized quickly she was a hand talker when she was upset. “No, you can’t stay at Catherine’s. Gunshot wounds require medical attention.”

From what he could hear, Lars was giving every excuse, including wanting to finish his tea, not to go to the clinic.

“You need to let Brenna see to it, or at least let me. No, don’t break in, you’ll set off the alarms.” River ran her hand through her bangs, another nervous habit he noticed.

Hugh looked up and met Boyd’s gaze in the mirror. His brother shrugged and nodded to Gavin. When Hugh looked at his youngest brother, Gavin shook his head no. They both understood he wanted to know the level of relationship River had with Lars. He didn’t think she would give herself to them if she was involved with anyone else, but the three of them had come on pretty strong earlier. Gavin seemed to know already that River’s relationship with Lars wasn’t romantic.

Lars was a big man, and Hugh knew he’d have a fight on his hands if he had to challenge him for River. But he would. Over the last hour he’d watched as the three of them overpowered her, stripped her down, and she’d met them head-on with her own passion. Also, her ass turned the most beautiful shade of pink under his hand. His cock stirred at the multitude of ideas flashing through his brain at that moment. Having her in his lap was a steady reminder, and his cock wanted some attention. But he’d already decided he wasn’t going to take her tonight. Their River was a lovely mix of contrasts.

The look of wonder on her face as that first orgasm rolled over her made him wonder if she ever had one before, but then she brought her brother to his knees with her talented mouth. She was used to taking care of others and not expecting the same treatment for herself. That was going to change.

“Is Brenna there yet?” River asked, and Hugh heard Lars’s low growling voice telling her no and then reassuring her he was fine. “Don’t lie to me, Lars. I hate that. I’ll be there in a couple minutes. Boyd is driving like a demon.”

There was a quiet pause and then Lars spoke rapidly, shooting off questions in a different language that made River’s face turn bright red. “I’m not discussing that with you right now,” she replied.

“What’s he saying to you?” Hugh didn’t like that Lars was saying something that embarrassed her, nor did he like it that Lars was making sure no one understood but them.

He really didn’t like it when River avoided his gaze and muttered, “Nothing.”

He took the phone from her and grabbed her hand before she could snatch it back. “What did you say?” he snarled into the phone.

“Oh, good,” Lars replied. “I’d hoped speaking Danish would piss you off enough to get you on the phone.” Hugh didn’t know Lars that well, but he could hear the stress in his tone. “I know there’s no way you’ll stop her from coming here.”

“Damn straight, Lars,” River snapped. Thank the gods Gavin turned around in his seat, grabbed one of River’s hands, and started reassuring her. Lars must’ve heard Gavin because he dropped his voice down low enough Hugh wasn’t certain River could hear him unless she was concentrating.

“Sniper shot. If Miss Poppy hadn’t yelled good morning, I would’ve caught it in the heart. Drive around the back of the coffee shop. He won’t attack downwind.”

“Boyd, drive around to the back door of the coffee shop, park close.”

Boyd glanced up at the rearview mirror and gave him a quick nod. “We’re almost there.”

  “Lars—”

“I heard. See you all in a minute.” The line went dead, and Hugh turned off River’s phone and put it in his pocket.

“Why did you turn it off? I need that.”

“No, you don’t. We’ll be there in a moment, and you’re getting more upset not being able to do anything.”

Flashing blue and red lights distracted them as they pulled onto the main strip. Thankfully, there weren’t too many tourists up at this time in the morning, but a few had gathered around the front of the coffee shop. Three little old ladies seemed to be doing crowd control and not allowing anyone to get too close.

Boyd pulled around back and parked at an angle to the building, giving them more cover. River lunged for the door, but Hugh held on to her tightly.

  “Let me go, Hugh.”

“Not until my brothers have a chance to make certain it’s safe.”

  “That’s ridiculous. Why wouldn’t I be safe?”

The question was innocent enough, but there was a subtle shift to River’s scent when she spoke. She was scared and upset, but there was something there. Not quite deception but more fear. There was something she wasn’t telling them, and he wanted to know.

Both he and River watched Boyd and Gavin get out of the car and quickly scent the air. Boyd went to the back door and opened it, and Gavin opened the rear door of the SUV. Hugh didn’t allow River to jump out. He held her close and used his body as a shield as they quickly moved into the building. Boyd and Gavin closed ranks behind him, but there weren’t any more shots, if that was what Lars was worried about.

He let go of River as soon as they got in the building. She tried to rush forward, but Gavin cut her off and walked into the dining room bef
ore her. Hugh kept ahold of her hand and Boyd brought up the rear.

The dining room was empty except for a small group of people sitting at one of the tables. All the curtains had been closed so no one could see in or out of the windows, and the flashing light from the cruiser illuminated the fabric.

“Lars, if you can’t shift to heal this, then you need to have staples.” Brenna Roberts was on her knees examining the wound on Lars. Cris Beauvert, the DJ for the local radio station stood next to her with garbage on one hand a stack of white pads in the other. Brenna pressed a gauze pad against his ribs, but Hugh could see the violent gash in Lars’s skin. One of Brenna’s Mates, Officer Walker, stood by the front doors with his arms crossed. Boyd immediately went over and started talking to him.

“You’re not putting metal hooks into my skin,” the big man snarled.

River reached out and tugged on a chunk of Lars’s hair. “Don’t be such a big baby. It’s not like she’s going to hang you from them.”

“I told you I didn’t want you to come,” he snapped at River. Gavin immediately took a step forward, but Hugh shook his head. He didn’t like her spoken to like that, but they didn’t have any right to interfere…yet.

“Dude, your charming personality is going to win you all sorts of prizes,” Cris commented. “Good thing River knows you’re secretly happy to see her.”

Hugh knew the two men were good friends and could see Cris was trying to take the sting out of Lars words.

“Gavin, can you help the McGuigan sisters outside?” Catherine asked his brother. “The last time those three tried crowd control, it turned into mass pandemonium.” Catherine came up beside Hugh. “Thank you for bringing her. Lars has a soft spot for River, and she’ll be able to talk him into doing what Brenna says.”

Hugh glanced down at the older woman. She looked up at him and rolled her eyes. “Just like the rest of them, I see.” She shook her head and the white curls around her face bounced. “Don’t get all jealous. Think of Lars as her older brother. Those two have pasts they won’t speak about, even though they really need to.” She gave him a pointed look.
